I highly recommend this company. Ive been with them for 10 years when they installed a new AC and Furnace. Ill have them out every couple years for maintenance. They dont try to upsell on something I dont need. If there is something I may not need, they are upfront in saying that maybe in a couple years I may need such-and-such replaced but not now. Recently I had an issue where water was dripping down the sides where the seams are all taped up. The guy actually told me he could save me a few bucks on a call and had me do a simple fix, which was the overflow tube and drain pain being clogged. Problem solved.I have not had any problems with them and they are always on-time within their window. They do take credit card, but there is a fee for that, so I just breakout my rarely used checkbook and write a check.Also, they give a 10% military discount, so someone like me who was in the Marine Corps nearly 30 years ago really appreciates that.Great service and great people.

I have literally never made a review, positive or negative, but with the overwhelming good reviews (which is why I hired them) I wanted to share my experience so some other family doesn’t get ripped off and taken advantage of like we did. I paid $700 to have our furnace repaired by AV. The furnace never got repaired even after being out here 3 times (in their defense one of the times was our fault as we were not giving them accurate information), so we called a different company. The new company showed us an actual part was broken within 5 minutes. AV told us our furnace was “frozen due to extreme temps”. I emailed them and after I didn’t receive a response I also reported them to BBB, with again no response. I feel as if they took advantage of our lack of education surrounding our HVAC system. Would not recommend.

AV came out because we had what we thought was water running out of our heating system. They came out and inspected and it turns out they found the hot water heater had rotted through the bottom. They installed new hot water heaters at a reasonable price and even gave me a veterans discount. They were very professional and courteous. I recommend them to anyone needing HVAC or in our case hot water heater repair or replacement. Very reliable and honest.

We called to have them come out to inspect and noise and burning smell from our heating system. The owner came out that afternoon and found that we had a bad blower. Our unit was over 15 years old so we already new that it would need to be replaced soon. The owner Jim and Adam came out the next day and installed our new unit. Good prices and amazing service. Will be using them for all future needs.

Jim Workman of AV Heating and Cooling showed up quicker than I expected, tracked down the problem with my central air conditioning and made the repairs very quickly. Jims not only a professional that takes pride in his work but hes also a very personable individual. I must admit that the cost seemed a bit high but isnt that always the case? Everyone seems to want repairs done for free or dirt cheap. I was tickled to death with his expertise in tracking down my problem and getting me back up and running again on a very hot afternoon and it was on a very hot Saturday afternoon. Had a very good experience with AV Heating and Cooling. Setting an appointment was easy, especially considering that this is probably one of their busiest times of the year. He called and then came out even earlier than promised. He did the work professionally, and seems to be extremely competent to me. Fixed my AC right up, explained what he was doing, and was very nice. He noticed my Navy license plate frame, and gave me a Veterans discount that I didnt even have to ask about. I highly recommend AV if you need service done! I am now a customer for life.

AV Heating and Cooling are the best. I have been using their services for many years. They installed a new Air Condition and Furnace. They are knowledgeable, respectful and they clean up after themselves. This company is awesome!

Called AV heating and cooling around 4pm one evening to get a bid on a whole new heating and cooling system and they were able to come within the hour to give us a bid. Not only did he do that but he helped explain everything in a way that I was able to understand exactly what we were getting. Did not push anything extra on us, only what we asked for. And then they went above and beyond and installed our whole new system the very next day so that wed have heat. Amazing customer service, great and helping with any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need.

This morning I woke up to our home being 85 degrees and our AC not blowing cool air. I called multiple places and no one was able to come out same day to fix or even diagnose the issue! I called AV Heating and Cooling and spoke to Jim and to my surprise he came out to my home in less then an hour after calling! Jim diagnosed the problem and made multiple fixes to get our AC unit back up and running! Jim even went out of his way to help inform me about things regarding my home warranty. Stopped in with an urgent need, the basement A/C unit was out on our RV. Jim did a great job as a salesman and technician. He got me a good deal on an Amana AC unit with a lifetime compressor warranty. The company also gave me a great military discount. I had a miss understanding about my appointment time. After a conversation the supervisor agreed to come directly out and do the work himself. When he arrived he did some testing a discerned that the unit being dirty was the only issue. He cleaned out the unit using the hose spending about 45 minutes and then did not charge me. It was a a wonderful experience in the end.

The tech that spoke with was extremely helpful tonight and walked me through what to to do with my furnace he also helped me install my new thermostat. I definitely will call them if my furnace kicks the bucket

These guys have helped me out of a jam twice now this year. First with my AC this summer and now with a surprise broken furnace after we returned from the holidays to a cold house. They came out right away both times and offered me several ways to meet my budget. AV heating and cooling is simply amazing! My air went out on a Monday night and they sent someone out Tuesday morning. The guys had my air back up and running within. 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend! I will also be keeping their number in case I need them again!!Thanks!!

The first time I called we needed someone to come look at why the furnace was making the crazy noise it was making. Hadley came out and was very friendly and professional. He said the furnace was on last leg. He replaced the bolt that had fallen out, which was making all the noise. Well, the next night the furnace went out completely. I called back to have them come out for a bid to replace and Jim came over with a standing space heater! I thought this was very kind and thoughtful. Had two other companies come out for bids but this company won me over! Hadley showed up next day, early morning and was here all day to put the new furnace in. He was a joy to have around all day, he worked very hard on this project as it was not an easy job! Not only did JIm worry about us being warm, part of our electricity went out and Jim had an electrician come out at 7 pm. Turns out we needed a new small breaker. That was replaced, easy fix. I just wanted to share the experience that I had with A.V. Heating & Cooling. The were very nice to stop by even though I had canceled that same day. My A.C was not working for about two days and its had been a very wek, I was worried that I was not going to have enough to pay for the repairs and they where able to work with me. The work was done in no time and in a professional matter. I thank them so much for helping out and understanding my situation.

I am very pleased with the work done to my home by AV heating and cooling and would highly recommend them to my family and friends. They did an excellent job at installing two new furnaces and an entire A/C system to my home. My house didnt have central air conditioning previously so they had to run new electrical cable from my electrical box to the back of the house. Also one of the furnaces we had installed was 90% efficient so it required extra work to install. I was happily surprised that the actual owner Jim gave us the bid and worked on portions of the job himself. They left the area cleaner than it was to begin with and answered all my questions no matter how silly.I appreciate that Jim and his men were very knowledgeable, honest and kind.

He has also had them service older units, and they always show up on time and fix the problem with very reasonable rates!

Jim Workman and His crew of hvac technicians are top notch! I have used them for emergency ac issues at my rental properties. They always try and get these as quick as possible and always do a great job. I am pretty sure they even offer a 24 hour service. They are reworking the air conditioning and furnaces in my commercial building dowtown right now and also doing the restaurant duct work in the building. They are the best heating & cooling company in Kansas City that I have ever used. Highly recommended. Jim is a 5 star person and so is his company! Best in KC hands down.

Quick service and expertise are the two words I use to best describe my experience with AV Heating and Cooling. At 8:00 am I discovered that air conditioner was not working. I pride myself in being an all around handy-man. I checked my connections, my fuses, and tried to manually start the fan motor. All my efforts failed and I called AV. Within 1 hour a technician was at my front door and 20 minutes head had a bid and a fix. About 2 hours later I had cold air. The price was reasonable, but the biggest plus was the fact that he didnt mind if I watched and asked questions. His answers were plain enough language that I actually learned something. I would highly recommend for your next HVAC repair. They are a good buy.Fred Williams.

Jim Workman, owner of AV Heating & Cooling is professional, courteous, and fair. I called late on a Friday afternoon with an A/C problem and they responded quickly. The computer servers at my business depended on that A/C unit. By that evening we were back up and running. I appreciated how fast their response was, the quality of work, and that the bill was fair. They were very busy at the time, but I felt like Jim cared about the problem I had and helped me resolve it quickly. I will be calling AV Heating & Cooling for future HVAC needs.

I had AV Heating and Cooling come out and give me a bid and was impressed in their company would highly recommend.. We had 2 other companies out to give us the same bids on the same work and decided to go with these guys. The sales guy had good communication on how the installation would go and answered all our questions along with concerns we had. They matched the other bids and once it was brought to our attention on what type of warranties and service we were going to receive by using them. We gave them the job they did all the warranty registration and a 1 year work grantee if anything fails or breaks in first year they will repair for free the product. They offered financing for us and worked hard to have the purchase meet our budget! They are properly licensed and insured which was important along with 24/7 service available. So for us it was a no-brainier.I went with the Amana 80% furnace due to the outstanding warranties and have been very impressed so far. We feel like the furnace more evenly dispersed heat threw out the house.Also I am already seeing the decrease in my gas bills from last year. At the end we feel like this was a good investment along with a smooth process that can be overwhelming at times. Just talked with Jim there and he was very helpful. Was not too busy to give me information and help me diagnose the problem. Not many businesses nowadays take the time to actually help you unless theyre getting paid a lot of money at that very time.

Never go to ANOTHER Heating and Cooling company in the KANSAS CITY METROPOLITAN AREA... AV heating and Cooling came out and gave me the best price out of anyone I went to for a complete system on my house!!! They showed up on time, even though it was raining outside and was able to get the job done in a timely manner, with the conditions they were given that day. Im not very experienced in HVAC but am a good mechanic and was fortunate to have diagnosed a failed circuit board for my uncle when his A/C stopped working. I didnt know where to find a used replacement board. A.V. was the first and only HVAC service company I needed to visit. I was treated with genuine respect and courtesy.Jim couldnt have been cooler. Not only did he seek out a used circuit board for me, he warrantied it, charged less than half of how much I expected, then sat down with me to answer some questions i had and even drew me a schematic! Contacted AV Heating and cooling on a Sunday. My AC had been out since the day before. Even though they were extremely busy they fit me in and arrived earlier than they had told me. They fixed the problem immediately, they cleaned up their mess, they are extremely reasonable and reliable.Today they are installing a new furnace for me. I was hesitant to ask questions about the product that they were installing but Jim the owner answered all of my questions even though he was on another job. He felt it important to take the time to explain to me all the in and outs of the installation.I could not be more pleased with the service, their professionalism and courtesy. Jims company is now my go to people when I need heating and cooling issues and maintenance. So happy I went with them.
