Traveling back to Montana and the van died. They got it in same day, diagnosed problem and got me back on the road. Outstanding work! Great people, excellent tech skills.

Ross went out of his way to make sure that we got back on the road. He let us park our camper at his shop.. He came out on a Sunday and check our truck out and got us back on the road on Monday. He came and picked us up at our hotel. Ross went above and beyond and we thank you so much.

This shop is great. I was delivering a travel trailer and my radiator sprung a major leak. The owner was more than willing to help me get my truck up and going ASAP. They got the parts overnight and had me back on the road in just a few hours. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. The young ladies up front were very nice and friendly too. Everyone I talked to at the shop was exceedingly friendly and helpful.

I have a 2013 GMC diesel pickup which had a check engine light on. Im traveling on vacation from CA to WY to MT towing a 5th wheel. The check engine light started in the Jackson Hole area and I tried to have repair shops there diagnose and fix my trucks problem but they were too busy to take care of me without delaying my travels. From Wyoming, I decided to call the Idaho Falls GMC dealership but they too were two weeks out even though I explained that I was a traveler and couldnt wait that long. I asked them to recommend another garage and they directed me to other GMC dealers in Idaho. Pocatello and points beyond would be too far out of my way so I asked them to recommend a good local independent and they said ROSS DIESEL. I checked their google reviews, 4.8 out of 5 stars. I called and talked to Jeff. He said bring the truck in as soon as I got into town. I did that the following day and saw how busy they were when I drove in. Their parking lot was full of trucks and cars waiting for repairs. But I was taken care of by Ross. I could tell right away that Ross knew diesel engines just by the way he was diagnosing the error codes. After consulting his computer, Ross knew exactly what it would take to fix the non-correlation of the exhaust gas temperature sensors and the bad glow plug. To my great surprise, Ross said he could fix my truck the next day and I could be on my way. He ordered the parts that he needed from Salt Lake City and had them shipped overnight. I left my truck with him that evening after dinner. The next morning at 10:28 am, my truck was done. I picked up my truck a little before lunch time, paid the bill, which was not unreasonable, and tried to give Ross enough cash to buy four pizzas for his crew as a token of my appreciation for a job well done and a job done faster than I could have hoped for. Ross refused to take the tip. Not only does Ross know diesel engines, hes an honorable man as well.If you are reading this review, do not hesitate to give Ross Diesel and Auto Repair your business. Excellent, honest repair shops that specialize in diesel and charge a reasonable price are hard to come by. I give Ross 10 stars! But google only recognizes 5 of them.

Great work done by well trained professionals. Modern, High-Horsepower Diesels almost require a College degree anymore, and the mechanic at Ross Diesel was able to find the issue and correct the problem quickly and affordably. Highly skilled honest, customer-oriented outfit.

Came by later today after I drove down from Yellowstone National Park.Went into the office and filled out the general information that they wanted.Went outside to wait, after being allowed to use the restroom.By the time somebody came out to check on the VIN number of the vehicle.I was told that there were no mechanics on duty that could come out and look at the vehicle.I also told them that the VIN number was no good to looking at the motor.[ 89 Suburban with a 5.9 Cummins].Also I could throw the keys to the door and they would look at it in the morning.Which does me no good as I am on the road to the east/ Illinois.They also have a 1-month back log on taking on any new customers.I made the trip down from Yellowstone based on their very positive reviews.They have a very nice brand new shop, with plenty of outside parking.

I could not recommend a shop more. Was traveling with the wife and kids to Yellowstone when my dodge 3500 broke down. Their team got me in right away and replaced my fan clutch and andc carrier bearing the same day despite being booked out for weeks. Also very military friendly and gave me a ride to the hotel while waiting on my truck to be fixed. Forever grateful for their their great customer service making my camping trip happen with my kids after a long Afghanistan deployment

Hate hate hate taking my truck in for repairs!!! Love love love Ross diesel!!! I know kinda ironic, but who likes taking there vehicle in for repairs or maintenance. At least with Ross diesel it gets done right and done right the first time. Ross and and gang are so knowledgeable and helpful. Ive taken many trucks and cars to them, minor fixes and major. I called to set up a oil change and I was able to bring my car in, in a very timely manner. When I arrived they were super nice and got my car back and the oil changed in a decent amount of time. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family in this area :)

I have been coming to Ross’s for about 6 or 7 years now. They have always treated me and my kids like family. Just one of many examples of that is my bearing went out in Kohl’s parking lot. Rocky came out and followed me to the shop. Once there they gave me a loner car so my kids and I were not stranded without a car. That kind of customer service is unheard of now a days! Idaho Falls has grown but Ross and his crew still keep the small town feel. I highly recommend them above any other shop in town. You won’t find another like them.

Just wanted to take a minute to say a big thanks to Rosss diesel for being fast, fair and professional. We were having some sensor and water issues with our 2019 F250 powerstroke. Took it to the local Ford dealership 3 seperate times and got it back each time with the same issues. Thought it was fixed, went on a trip and had to drive home from northern Idaho in limp mode. The dealership doesnt seem to care about actually fixing the issue, just keep you coming back while replacing the same stuff over and over and not actually fixing the problem. We finally took it to Ross instead of the dealership to address the issue, explained what was going on, and dropped the truck off in the morning. Amazingly enough, they diagnosed the problem, fixed it and had it home to us in about 4 hours. And for a great price! Cant thank you guys enough and you have our business from now on!

I had a diesel exhaust system check engine light come on. It said I would be limited in speed soon. Rosss team made me an appointment within a week and the day I brought my truck in they had the diagnosis within an hour. They gave me a super reasonable repair price and once I gave them the go ahead they ordered the parts. My truck was ready the next morning. Absolutely Amazing. To be forthright with this review, I am basing my 1 star on my phone call to them. I have never used this company, and only called them on someone elses word. I called them asking to be quoted on a repair that I already knew would likely be expensive. But, as with all things, estimates for work can be all over the place. When I called, I was told they would have to look in to it and call me back. I still havent received that call. Its not that big of deal, yes, I could have called and reminded them to do their job. I shouldnt have to. They are obviously busy enough and dont need more customers.

I will always recommend this shop. They take really good care of you, and any time I have called with an issue they are quick to get me right in. Honest, quick, and fair priced.

Ross and the crew have always treated me with honest up front quality work on my vehicles . They will fix what you want fixed and notify you if other important maintenance items are discovered, but you never feel pressured in any way. In one instance where the repair called for removing the entire dashboard they had developed a special tool to avoid this saving me hours of labor charges. They have always had my back and will always have my business.

Two years ago I had my F250 diagnosed at the dealership, twice. The dealership couldnt find any problem, even though I knew something was not quite right. Ross was recommended to me by an auto mechanic that didnt work on diesel motors. I took the truck to Ross, explained the problem and anticipated the worst case scenario. My experience with diesel motors, at the dealership, is that everything is expensive. Much to my surprise I received a call a few hours later that my truck was ready. Apparently, the issue was a (well known) vacuum system leak issue on this particular motor (6.0) that was affecting my turbo. The total cost of the repair was slightly more that the aforementioned diagnostic charges from the dealership. Seriously!Last week, I took my truck back because it had lost power again. When I called, they had no appointments available, but if I could leave the truck for a few days they would work it in. I explained that I needed the truck by Friday to move my son back to college. On Thursday I got a call that the issue was a stuck valve that controlled something to do with the air and fuel mix (maybe) and that the mechanic had a used valve, one that he tried out, and the truck seemed to be working fine. On Friday, I took the truck, loaded with furniture, to Moscow. I came back to Idaho Falls on Saturday, very late. Lots of high speed interstate driving. The truck ran great. In fact, better than it has in a long time. Total price for the most recent repairs, $221.These guys (and that really nice young lady at the front desk ) will be my go to diesel repair shop for as long as I own a diesel.

Wow! I can not believe how well my truck runs now. It must have had issues for quite some time and I didnt realize it. Rosss replaced injectors, injector cups and glow plugs in my Powerstroke. This was a expensive repair but I didnt even get a second estimate on the fix. Reason why was a near perfect 5 on Google reviews plus all the word of mouth opinions around town that Rosss was the best in East Idaho for diesel repairs. I dont know if they were the cheapest or the most expensive for the work I had done but I am totally satisfied with the results. Hats off to Darion the service writer. Shes the best. Rosss has earned my business and I will be back for future service. Thanks all!

Took my truck into have Rosss repair it, an 01 F350 with the 7.3. They told me the pedestal was bad, and needed replaced. I had just replaced it. I found out later that they hadnt plugged it back in which is why it was throwing codes saying that it was bad.EDIT: None of the response was explained to me when I picked up the truck. I was simply told it was bad and needed replaced. Nothing was said about it being left unplugged, nothing about why they thought the pedestal was bad. I amended my review to a 3 star for the explanation. Not giving more stars because of the confrontational reply.

Five stars for: Quality, Integrity, Compassion, Service, and Honesty. We were on a trip to Helena to pick up materials when our truck broke down halfway there. Without Ross of Ross’s Diesel and Auto repair, our trip would have been over. He saved our trip and was a total hero by making time to fix our rig and get us on the road as quickly as possible. He really went the extra mile by tracking down hard to find parts and picking them up special our repair. His honesty and service is one of a kind. I wish he lived in our hometown! I love taking my pickup to Ross!! He is always there is answer my questions and gives me honest answers! The first time I took my pickup there we had to get a part that wouldn’t show up until Saturday, I let him know I needed my pickup Saturday morning to head to a rodeo, he made sure the part got on the truck to come up went in early Saturday morning (on his day off!) and had it fixed in plenty of time for me to get in the ride to my rodeo. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs great work! I’ve never had one issue with them here. Having a diesel I thought I’d be limited to good mechanics but it always goes to Ross whenever I have issues. I’m very pleased with them!

Ross and his crew are top notch, his service writer is very friendly and personable, I took my diesel in there for some control arms and glow plug, she called me 30 min before closing and said it needed 3 glow plugs instead of 1, and it would take them until tomorrow to get it done as it called for 1.5 hrs I explained that wouldnt work and i would have to bring it back. I was on my way to pick it up and she called me back and said they were able to get it all done and it was ready to go. They were able to get everything done on it that it needed, and it hasnt had a single problem since.I recommend them to anyone who needs work on their vehicles, especially diesel.Outstanding customer service from her and the techs. What a great honest shop. I manage a fly fishing lodge with 22 fishing guides. Most of our guides bring their rigs to Ross for quick fair maintenance. We just brought our lodge work truck in because it wouldnt start after sitting all winter. After struggling for a few days we brought it in to Rosss. He called the day after with no charge . We forgot to put fuse in. It was a 30 second fix. That is an honest fair mechanic. Go see him. We always will.

Well where do i start. I love this place they are always so nice and bend over backwards to get me out camping. There is so much knowledge in this building. they are experts on the ford 6.0 and 6.4 that they can save you so much money because it gets fixed right the first time.The duramax they are always finding ways to make them better and keep you on the road. the cummins all i can say is wow they know them like the back of there hand and they are fast to finish the work. this is the only place i will take my truck. Fantastic Diesel Shop

Its hard to find a diesel repair shop when traveling and you dont know the area, well we had that experience, so the next thing to do is go on the Internet and hope that you find someone to help. We found Ross diesel repair, the owner and staff had our 2004 GMC for less than a day and the problem was found and repaired. We are back on the road and the truck runs as good as new thanks Ross and staff Fred Gutierrez

I have an excellent mechanic in SLC (Chris at Gilletts deisel) When my car broke down in Idaho Falls on a business trip, I called Chris, who called Ross of Ross Diesel & Auto Repair. Ross sent a tow truck within minutes to collect my car and myself. Even though they were extremely busy, Ross and the great guys there went over my car with a fine tooth comb and found the problem. I thought I was going to have to find a hotel and stay an extra night, but Ross found the needed part and ran (literally) out and got it. Ross and his excellent electric guy (sorry never got his name) stayed late and got my car running in perfect condition. Ross and his crew are honest, good people, that really know their stuff. Thanks for taking this stranded Malibu lady in and making sure I got back to my home state in excellent condition. I cant praise you enough.
