BEST autoshop I have ever gone to. My car broke down on the way back from a vacation, and they were the only auto shop in the whole IF area that were able to squeeze me in. They took a look at my car, gave me some ideas of what was wrong with it, and DIDNT EVEN CHARGE ME! Im a poor college student and this meant the whole world to me. Even visiting for just the weekend, the radiator caught a rock and punctured a hole. Phil (phillip) stayed until 830 PM to get ot fixed so we can leave even after the shop closed at 5. I bought a used vehicle that needed some under-the-hood work. A little more than I thought initially. I searched online and found Marlins. They had many positive reviews so I brought it in for a used car check. My 2nd one by the way.Marlin checked it out confirmed some of the first check results but also said some of the repairs listed by the first mechanic wasnt needed. This saved me hundreds of dollars.I brought my vehicle in and Marlin did an outstanding job. He went above with the work and made sure everything was taken care of to my satisfaction.I found Marlin to be honest and a man/mechanic with integrity. I have no hesitation or reservation about referring him should one find themselves needing a trustworthy mechanic.

Marlin’s replaced my AC compressor on my Chevy Sonic, had to come back a week later cause the compressor kept cycling off. They found that it was the expansion valve causing it. They didn’t give me a break on the price for coming back. They should have noticed the compressor was cycling off in the first place. I won’t be going back.

I have nothing but good things to say about them. I live up in Rexburg and my car broke down near Ucon. The mechanics in Rexburg were quite rude on the phone but Marlin was professional and was very well priced and patient with me as well. If I ever have any future car troubles I will be coming here again.

Was just passing through Idaho and my alternator went out. 5 minutes before every shop closed for the weekend and i was still an hour out of town. Marlin said he could stay late, get the part and get me back on the road that night! He also replaced my battery terminals and cleaned everything up. Absolutely outstanding!Driving from Arizona to Yellowstone, my vehicle developed a misfire just south of town. I called up Marlin’s, who got me in the same day. New spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, fuel injector and other parts all ordered the same day and installed the next day (it needed the injector, I requested the rest). He got me back on the road the very next day! I can’t thank you guys enough!!!!!

We had a check engine light on. We already got the codes from another mechanic but they were too busy to get us in and we were only passing by town. Richards in town recommended Marlins so we called and he said to come in. Per Richards recommendation, we asked Marlins to get the gas pressure reading. First, he ran another diagnostic test but nothing came up because the check engine light had been reset by another mechanic during the code check. Then, he checked the gas pressure and suggested that we should be able to drive it back to Colorado to our own mechanic. We did and made it home although slower than normal. Thanks Marlins for the honest advise!

Good mechanics are hard to find. Marlin is one of the best. He is honest (just told me a noise I was worried about was a spring, no cost. No repair. Another mechanic told me CV axle). And I can say this after relying on him for.,, a couple decades now?He is busy, your repair requires an appointment.Dont go there expecting service tomorrow, go there expecting the best .

These guys rock! Theyve been my mechanic shop for almost 15 years now. Theyre a good team, dependable and honest to this day. Ive never had an issue with over 25 repairs between personal and work vehicles. Theyve always stood behind their work.

I cannot express how incredible these guys are! They are honest, take pride in their work, they wont return your vehicle till it is working up to their standards ( which are very high). They were more than reasonable with their rates, a great respectable group of people I couldnt be more happy with my experience with them. By far the only mechanics I trust and will ever work with.

I dropped my car off because it wouldnt start, and they fixed it right up, promptly, and even coming in a bit short of the quoted price. However, after starting my car, it started making a loud clicking noise every couple of seconds, an issue that hadnt been there before. I told them about it, but they said it would cost an extra $200 to fix it. Thats right, $200 to fix a problem they caused. I smiled and left. They seemed like nice folks, but they wont be seeing me again.

The environment is very open and caregiving, they are honest and upfront with what needs to be done. I felt very welcomed and at home, the prices are very good and they work in a very timely manner. They will always have my business, I have never once had a problem and will always recommend these guys first.

These guys were awesome, especially Jason (Maybe Brandon). First of all, I thought I knew what was wrong and they agreed to fix it for labor only if I brought the parts. Next, when he discovered it wasnt what I thought he immediately began to check every possible cause (least to most complicated) until he isolated the problem - at no extra charge! Once he explained it, there were no made words or parts and no pressure to have it fixed then and there. He even proposed a possible solution that was MUCH cheaper. I wont even consider using another mechanic in Idaho Falls.

I take all of my vehicles there and they have earned my trust. They are honest and always fair to work with. More than once I have arrived ready to spend money for what I thought was a problem and they found the real issue which really has built my trust in them. The problem has always been repaired as promised with no further issues. I highly recommend them.

What a great shop! Its so hard to find honest mechanics but these guys are as true as they come. They arent after your life savings like most shops. They only fix what is broken and have honest pricing. They are dang good mechanics and understand how to treat customers. They have done work for my parents, grandma, cousin and my personal vehicles. I am very happy with me service there. I felt like I was being treated fairly even as a woman. I didnt feel like I was being sold unnecessary parts and I wasnt given a big list of things wrong with my car that they had to fix right away. This is a place I can and will recommend to people I know.

I have nothing but good to say about them. When I first when in my car wouldnt even make it to the shop but I needed it for work. I explained I was having financial troubles, so Marlin (the owner) worked with me explaining the things that needed to be done now and the things that could wait. They not only helped me get my car there but got it done that day so I could make it to work. I have since returned, got my car finished and it has ran great since. I send my family there because I know they will be treated the same.

My family has used Marlins for years and never have they let us down. I will now drive to them from Pocatello if at all possible because I know I can trust them and they will get it done. More than once they have gone above and beyond for us. Once when my parents did not have enough to pay for Marlins to do a repair we did it ourselves. We had to replace the head gasket on a 96 Grand Am. We managed to get it all back together but something wasnt right. The car would not idle well and the check engine light was on. Thinking the worst we took the car down to Marlins to have them look at it. Turns out one bolt on the intake was not tight and was allowing air past where it needed to be sealed. Marlin ran a diagnostic on the car (which used to run $60 before any auto parts stores were doing it for free) found the problem and fixed it. He only charged us ten dollars if my memory is right, and only because he had one of his employees out helping him. If the employee wasnt there he would have charged us nothing.The only time they stumbled for us happened over Thanksgiving week. I was down from school in Moscow in my recently purchased jeep that decided to have fuel pump issues on the way home. I Made an appointment for the day before Thanksgiving and took it down to them the night before and dropped the keys in the drop box. Wednesday evening I called and they didnt have it done. Needless to say I was upset. Turns out it didnt get marked on the schedule. Marlin came down on Friday when the shop was closed for the long holiday weekend and got the pump replaced. He even worked with my parents who got my check from him and paid for it themselves for my birthday.Marlin was recommended to my parents not long after they moved to Idaho Falls back in 1988 and we have been going there ever since. I will highly recommend them to anyone!

TL;DR Merlins Mechanix, or their associates at Elite Auto Sales, tried to cover up an oil leak during a pre purchase inspection.More detail:I drove 4 hours to Elite Auto Sales, a nearby used car dealer, to purchase a 2010 Camaro SS on sale with cash in hand.A few days prior I asked Elite Auto Sales to compression test the motor. The day before I made the trip I received a call from Marlins Mechanix, who Elite Auto Sales outsources their repair work to, and was told the motor was in good health.Upon arrival I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a pre purchase inspection. The mechanic had me come out and take pictures of an oil leak from the oil cooler and the oil pan.I returned to Elite Auto Sales with this information in hand. The owner insisted that Marlins Mechanix take a look to confirm what my mechanic found.I received a call from Elite Auto Sales saying that they could not find any oil and that there was no apparent issue. I was asked to drive to Marlins Mechanix to see for myself.When I arrived at Merlins Mechanix, I took one glance and instantly realized they had cleaned the oil leak with break cleaner and the once oil covered areas were spotless. I pulled out my phone and showed them the attached pictures I took no more than 1 hour prior.Neither Elite Auto Sales or Merlins Mechanix will admit they wiped the vehicle down, yet somehow the car got cleaned in attempts to hide the bigger issues.I walked away and refuse to do business with this dealer or their mechanic.I dont know who to blame, but regardless if it was under Elite Auto Sales command or their trusted mechanics own will to hide it, I suggest you find a more honest company to deal with.

I drive older, paid-for cars. One of the drawbacks of this is they need a lot of repair. Marlins Mechanix has worked me in even when they were busy, and their prices beat everyone else Ive gone to. They fixed an electrical problem no one else could figure out. I highly recommend them.
