Had my brakes serviced on 4/23/21 at LBJ and they did an excellent job. Very satisfied with the service. They got my brakes done in one day and they work perfectly!!! (Well, I would hope so). When you are needing auto repair, please call LBJ and speak with Wayne, Skip, or the owner Chris and they will take care of your auto repair needs.

Highly recommend. Chris, Wayne, Jason, Skip and the entire LBJ team are honest, hard working and dependable. You pay a fair price for their work. More importantly, they will only fix what is needed and stand behind their work. They are busy. Understand that good work takes patience, but they will work you in as fast as they can if it is urgent. I take 3 vehicles there and have done so for over 3 years now. No concerns. Trust in this business is important to me. I trust this team.

Had my Honda Ridgeline serviced at local Honda dealership for 14 years. Rvcd a quote to install a part I thought was fairly steep. Went to Best local area Honda service operators and saw the great LBJ reviews. Called, got a lower install quote and made appt. Not only was the repair time less than 2 hours but that included an impromptu Oil Change thrown in. Was shocked when thetotal bill was LESS than the install work quote alone. No more Honda dealer for me, itso to LBJ for my auto work from here onward. Easy, quick, efficient and great value!

I bought a 2001 Ford F-150, of course it was as is no warranty given the fact that it was a 19 year old truck. Got a great deal, but just my luck, one week after I bought it, it let me know it was time for a tune-up.I called multiple shops, the closest quote I got was $100 more. I took the truck to them, they did a diagnostic to assure they were fixing the problem and not a symptom. It was as I suspected, I opted for a full tune-up rather than just a single coil.Once they got the work done, my new toy was ready to go, and even though they already beat everyone with estimates, they beat their own estimate by $200. These guys did 100% good by me, and Id recommend them to anyone.

My sons 15 year old Ford Taurus was determined by AAA to have a bad starter. I called LBJ and told them a tow truck would be dropping it off right after closing time. The customer service rep Skip waited for its arrival, and called me before 9 a.m. the next morning with the confirmed diagnosis. By 3:15 p.m. the same day, my vehicle was ready. With multiple drivers in our household, it is so nice we can always rely on LBJ to fix our vehicles and always get outstanding customer service and prompt repairs- all at very competitive prices.

LBJ has been the WORST experience. I took my car in for a new valve cover gasket (previously diagnosed), estimated repairs @ $600. The techs put the parts on wrong, and warped the engine valves, our cost of over $4000.00!LBJ claims it was a faulty part that caused the damage, not the technicians. This is a lie. They have had my car for over 3 weeks now, and are avoiding all communications with me. Chris has promised that it would be ready tomorrow, that was over 2 weeks ago. Yesterday, he said the car was ready, but he wants to test drive it after the mechanic tests it. Today, he says its not ready. This has been going on for 3 weeks, lie after lie. I really wish they would have been honest, and that I didnt have to write this review. 0 stars. never take your car here for major repairs. They may be able to handle an oil change without problems, but I will never find out.

Last week I stopped by LBJ after work unannounced to have a small problem with my car looked over. I was told by the person at the desk that all the mechanics were booked up, and that it would take an hour or more to get to me. I figured that would be the case, as I hadn’t called or made an appointment, so fair enough, I’d just schedule a time for later.Chris Jarvis, the owner, overheard my conversation, dropped whatever he was doing in the office, and said he’d look at it. He proceeded to head out to the parking lot & took care of the issue right then and there. This is par for the course at LBJ, and just one more reason why I go to them for all my automotive work, from tires to oil to major repairs. They are the garage I trust to make it right.

The owner Chris is an overgrown child and runs his business the same way. Way overpriced and terrible service. The only time they do an outstanding job is when they try to find reasons not to honor their warranty. I have seen on other sites where Chris has replied to reviews saying the reason for the high price for parents was due to coming from the dealership which is a lie. He uses oreillys 98% of the time.

They watch out for the customer. After visiting 2 places before coming here with my jeep, I thought I needed new tires to fix my problem. They were ordered and I came to have them put on and they checked to make sure it would fix my problem, but found out that wasn’t my problem. They did not try to sell me something I didn’t need but had ordered. Actually it turned out there were several issues that needed fixing and in anticipation of maybe getting a different vehicle altogether we had them to just fix what was imminent. They were great to deal with and patient with me.

I have been an LBJ customer for 15+ years and even after moving out to Madison, still drive across town to have them work on my personal car and business truck. Chris, and before that, his Dad, always give me sound advice so I dont spend money I dont have too - even it means telling me Id be better off selling the vehicle instead of fixing it. For instance, Chris suggested putting heavy duty brake pads on our work truck which cost a little more, but had a lifetime guarantee. Since we planned on keeping the truck for a long time, it has saved us the cost of two more sets of pads. I recommend them highly.

I would recommend that you read your paperwork carefully and know a little about vehicles before you use them or you will be paying for things you did not get or receive. After he finished he attended to the woman sitting down and then eventually to the young lady who was returning her car for additional repair after they hadn’t fixed it initially. After seeing to her he sat down and began talking to another employee. They both looked up at me periodically but never acknowledged my daughter and I waiting, never said a word to us, and never made a move to help us. LBJ does not honor their warranties. I had new brakes put on my car and in only 6 months they were already screaming. I took them back to LBJ and the owner refused to honor the warranty. Instead of go through a legal process I took them to another local auto repair shop. The mechanic told me they were terrible brake pads. He surmised they were after-market pads. I also asked LBJ to look at a power steering issue I was having with my car. My car sat in their garage for almost 9 hours with no repair and they asked to keep it another day. I took it to another mechanic and the problem was repaired in less than 2 hours. It really stinks for me because I always liked LBJ before this incident. During this repair, the owner was indignant, rude, and borderline threatening when I asked questions as to why the car wasnt repaired after 9 hours. He then told me that he would not honor their warranty and repair the brake pads.Never again.

Be kind to yourself and never go here.1.) After market parts and faulty installation---car broke down in 5 months. The work and parts were so poor, that AAA Car Care Plus gave me back the parts for evidence. Upon their recommendation, they said I should file a formal complaint to AAA Alabama. Work was that bad.2.) Overpriced. I used my AAA membership to get towed to their AAA approved shop. Their original estimate for work was $600 which balooned to over $1,200. I was visiting Huntsville (from Atlanta) for my sisters funeral, or would have taken the time and business elsewhere. My fault for overpaying. After the work was completed, I contacted my local dealership to see how much they would have charged me for the same scope. It was about 25% less. My trusted mechanic was about 40% less.3.) I was accidentally misled from the customer service rep that AAA approved independent shop warranties would carry over out-of-town. Be warned, travelers. AAA did contact them after diagnosing the problem was LBJs parts & workmanship. LBJ said they would not reimburse any labor costs, and they would mail the parts later. They have to mail these parts later because its after market junk. That said, they never called back to AAA about mailing the parts and the supervisor at LBJ must not work a normal workday. The AAA rep felt they were getting the run around. Id agree with some of the other posters. Im pretty skeptical these guys ever honor a warranty, in-town, out-of-town, etc.4.) I also make inquiry to see if the Ownership has ties to the military and service to our Country. Im from a military family and refuse to believe that there would be a military business owner with this shoddy of practices. My father was a LTC and pretty sure served or knew the original Owner when I was looking at the displays in the shop. I feel like they use the founding of this shop by a Colonel as propaganda for marketing. So for the Redstone Arsenal personnel (where I used to work) and the Brave who serve; I hope you find this review sincere and try to find another auto shop. God Bless---

Used to work for this place as a mechanic and I am glad I dont anymore. This place is a joke and will rip you off any way they can. The owner Chris will try to get as deep into your pockets as he can and will rip his employees off also. The only thing they have going for them is that they are AAA certified, which is a miracle that AAA would even endorse such a shotty buisness. Most of the mechanics are not certified at all and do not know what they are doing. I have seen many mechanics break parts off of customers cars and then Chris will tell the customer that the part was broken when the car came in and that they need to replace it. Then he will mark up the part before the customer buys it! They buy all of their cheap parts from a place called AJW out of Cullman and have the parts shipped overnight. Thats why it takes so long to get your car fixed, because your waiting on parts from Cullman. If they dont have enough to order, they will wait a day or two so they dont have to pay AJWs overnight shipping charge, all why the customers car sits there and the customer waits for days. They mark their cheap parts up 71.43% just to rip you off more. If you want your car fixed the same day, they will get something from OReilly auto and mark it up 60% or get something from the dealer and mark it up 40%. Their fuel injection service is a 10 dollar can from ebay that they fill up with four power solvent and hook it to the intake manifold of your car. It is not a real fuel injection machine. The same goes when they check for a blown head gasket, they dont do a compression or leak down test, they use a Lisle 75500 Combustion Leak Detector which sticks in the radiator and supposively detects exhause gasses, it is not the proper way to check for a head gasket leak. This tool is made for shade tree mechanics, and considering that most head gaskets do not blow into the water jacket of the head, the tool will never work. I can tell you after working here for over a year I couldnt work for a lying and stealing owner anymore. Chris took this reputable buisness over from his father Larry recently and has ran it into the ground. I hope that people will not support businesses like this. Im sure that there will be a response from the owner, trying to discredit this comment after it is posted, like the rest of the negative Google reviews. All you have to do is price the parts yourself and then look at the parts markup from LBJ and you will see that this comment is truthful. Or you can ask to see their fuel injection service machine, or can or ask them where they get their parts.
