Applegate redid some of my insulation earlier in the year and also recently came out to check on my furnace and AC. The team is friendly and helpful!

Our furnace stopped working yesterday and it was 20 degrees outside. We have used Applegate for several years, and have a yearly service contract with them. Within 2 hours of our call, a serviceman was here and found we needed a new ignition switch. Our furnace is quite old, and the only replacement for that part was in Ohio! But our serviceman, Mike, checked further, and found one locally. He was able to come back and had our furnace humming again by dinner time!! He saved the day! This is a wonderful company with many fine people there to help you with you! Thanks again to all of you, and especially Mike, who went out of his way to keep us warm!

We had a whole house generator installed a year ago. We absolutely LOVED the service we received from our sales guy Nathan. He was OUTSTANDING. We found the whole process easy and stress free. This year we had our free annual service performed. The tech remembered us from the install and went so far above and beyond for us. My husband got pulled into a meeting and the tech left. But he did something SO IMPORTANT for us. It seems small, but he closed our gate tightly for us. This means that when our escape prone pup wiggled out of the door before my husband could check the gate, she wasn’t able to run the neighborhood for an hour before being caught. This alone makes me want to use Applegate for everything in the future. Thanks guys!!!

Still having issues with the furnace when the temps are low. Not sure if it’s the furnace, the weather, or the technicians fault. I like to think they did a good job, but I have no clue.

Pyro Heating & Cooling recently installed a new AC unit and Furnace in our home. From the owner on down to the installers, they were tremendous. They were extremely informative during the quotation process, offered us multiple options, and even recommended we NOT take the most expensive. They happily took calls after hours to answer any questions we had before we made our decision. There was no hard sell or negative comments about their local competition - it was a stress free process. The installation itself was very smooth and the installer didnt leave until he was confident I was trained on the new system. He gave us his personal cell number and insisted we call at any time with any questions and he would be happy to walk us through or stop by himself. The unit itself is performing 100x better than what we had last summer, had phenomenal Google reviews, and has a 12 year warranty to the standard 5 years.What a great local business!

Jon was very knowledgeable and professional regarding our need for a new water heater with an induced draft fan attachment. We really like his down-to-earth style and honest approach in explaining just what we needed. After looking at the unit, he called his office to see if they had a replacement unit. He discussed a number of good brands to choose from, how he would go about replacing the unit and how he would go about taking out the old unit, along with how long it would take for the whole process to be completed. We were agreeable to his approach and so he sold me on a 95% efficiency hot water heater (Bradford White). We were happy. Thanks Jon

They changed my furnace from propane to natural gas, installed a new water heater and humidifier. They were here as promised and stayed until the job was done. Took two days, but they were prompt, efficient and courteous. I will be using Pyro for everything I need in the future, and would highy recommend them to anyone and everyone. Quality workmanship and friendly service keep us coming back to Pyro for all our heating and cooling needs. They recently reworked our duct work and insulated our basement. This made a significant difference in the even distribution of heat in our house. Rusty and Andrew did the work and they were a pleasure to deal with.Called on Pyro again when our sump pump went out. Again their service was excellent. Mitchell was the representative that came to the house this time. He was friendly, considerate and helpful. He checked our installation and went to get a replacement pump. The pump he installed was far superior to the one that a plumber had installed before. These guys are the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen a lot. The craftsmanship of their work really shows and they went above and beyond my expectations. They did more than what was in our contract to meet code. The previous furnace and hot water heater went into my unlined chimney. Not only did they fix my water heater duct work they also installed a liner in the chimney. I’m completely amazed and grateful to them and I highly recommend Pyro for anything you need done.

Weve been using Pyro Heating and Cooling for a few years now - our house is at that age. Throughout a number of installations and maintenance visits, we have always had really good experiences with everyone in the company. from the courteous and cheerful office staff to the sales people and technicians. Most recently, we were having issues with our air conditioner. Nancy in the front office is friendly, efficient and I get the feeling she really knows what shes doing (I suspect she keeps the place running). She assigned Drew to come out to diagnose our AC issues and he, too, was great. He was friendly, honest, knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with. Rusty and Nathan installed our new air conditioner and were professional and courteous. Both Rusty (during the installation) and Drew (before and after the installation) were both great at answering all of our questions and explaining exactly what was being done and why. It was very helpful that the company sent the same person (Drew) who sold us the AC back for the happy visit follow up, as we had already established a relationship with him. The service part of Pyro is great and as we have had no issues with the quality of the equipment or installations, that part seems great too. We happily recommend Pyro Heating and Cooling.

We had the pleasure of working with Matt, Rusty and Andrew. Matt sold us our new furnace, ac, and hot water heater. Matt went over all options and helped guide us to the perfect fit for our home. Rusty Taylor was the Installer Technician who built a platform for the installation of my AC. He was professional, experienced and his work ethic is excellent! He had to improvise from the original design for the platform (which is needed because my home is on a hill) and was able to successfully install the AC. He also took the time to accurately program the thermostat and give me the necessary information to adjust the humidifier and thermostat. Great job!!

During a routine tune-up, one never wants to hear you need a new furnace and AC unit. But, it happens. Mike was the ultimate professional in outlining the issues, why new units are necessary and what the options were.Anthony and Brandon came 2 business days later for the install and continued the trend of ultimate professionalism. I asked for early arrival in the day due to my work schedule and they showed up exactly as I requested. They outlined the work to be done and got to work immediately. They were very friendly and kept me up to speed throughout the process. They finished earlier than expected, and gave me a great run through of the work that was done.2 years with Pyro now, as a Club Member, and I am a big fan. Every person that I have worked with, both in and out of the office, have been great. They are a top notch company, one I would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, our furnace had enough this fall (18 years old...) so we needed a replacement before the cold winter hit. Pyro came highly recommended by a close friend so I called them and scheduled diagnostics and after finding out what the cost was for the fix we decided to have a new furnace installed through them as well.Kevin was great at explaining the issue we were facing and the fix we could do. Lance did a nice job getting us set up with a compatible furnace and Anthony and Nathan knocked it out of the park for the install. Everyone was very personable and made sure I was comfortable with the work. Anthony was great and even helped troubleshoot some of the extreme areas of our house. Kevin and Anthony worked in tandem to resolve our A/C issue. Anthony kept us informed through out the entire time, explaining what he was doing. After consulting with Kevin, who came out to our home, they were able to offer us an acceptable option.

Pyro is the best! Mike V and another technician installed a new Furnace & AC system for us in 2012. No heat last night- Oct 26, 2016. Called for service at 9:00 AM and now at noon we have heat. Thats fast service. Mike V. and Tyler F. were just here addressing a warranty issue. In no time at all Mike found the problem, got the new part, installed it and we had heat at no charge. If you are having a problem or need a new system go with Pyro and the products they sell. They stand behind their products and will give you great service. In addition they have friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, honest technicians.

Great customer service. We woke up with no heat that is never a good sign. Called and was given an appointment within three hours. Mike found the problem and a part was replaced we had heat two hours later. He was knowledgeable and professional. We are considering updating the system this spring. It is 14 years old and builders grade. Our daughter replaced her furnace, ac, air filtration and humidifier last year. After interviewing three companies she chose pyro and reported outstanding products and service.

Excellent salesman (Matt Miller) and Anthony was terrific during the installation process.My only concern is if 3 instead of 2 1/2 ton units should have been installed . Both state that the correct size for our condo was installed. All seems to be okay at this point in time; one week after install.

Pyro Heating & Cooling is the BEST! From Matt coming out to see what we needed done to Anthony and Brandon doing the work. we never questioned that Pyro was the best choice for us! They installed gas line to our cooktop in the kitchen and also to our fireplace as well as installing the gas log set for us. Their price was very competitive and their workmanship was great. Friendly, informative initial meetings. Installers were prompt, worked steady in the time-frame promised. They took away old equipment and cleaned up after the install of the new boiler, thermostats, replacement and update of the electrical & plumbing components. My 12 year old instant water heater (not a Pyro unit) was non-functioning AGAIN, so I wanted to replace it with a traditional water heater. Dave, one of the owners at Pyro, came out the day before Thanksgiving to do the Comfort Evaluation because I had no hot water. Dave had Anthony come out on Black Friday to install the water heater. I now have hot water in faucets that I could only get room temperature water at before. Anthony had an additional installer with him so the removal and installation quick and efficient. Between Brandon and Anthony installing and Dave specifying, I now have hot water again. This is the third time that Anthony has been to my house to fix other companys work, each a different repair from my boiler to my A/C and now my water heater. THANK YOU SO MUCH to Anthony and Pyro Heating and Cooling!!

Furnace blower stopped working, Mike was out within an hour. Determined my 30+ year old furnace needed to be condemned. Next day, Russ and Rusty came out and worked very efficiently and got a new one installed in 4 hours. All techs were very personable and answered any question I threw at them.

I would like to tell everyone who is interested in a heating specialist about Pyro Heating and Cooling in Howell.Came home to find my 22 year old furnace had died. 49* in the house. Jon, Tech came out and did the inspection. Besides rusty, dripping condensate, over heating and burns the furnace just looked bad. He got it working temporarily and then I met with Nate who measured my rooms and counted windows and made an assessment of how big of a furnace I needed. He calculated about half the size of the original. Nate and I then sat down and went through my replacement options, upgrades, accessories, refunds, and rebates. He answered my questions and we set up an install date. Well the temporary fix didn’t last so I gave Pyro a call and they moved my install date up.I am sitting here at my kitchen table with my sleeves rolled up because I am toasty warm. Russ and Andrew, the install guys took out the old, put in the new, taught me about the new thermostat and what all those lines, pipes, wires are to the new furnace and cleaned up well after themselves.I was pleased with everyone I met from Pyro and how professional they are in their respective jobs.Thank you all,Sandy

Pyro came out to service my furnace over the winter and did a great job. So I thought I would have them come out and service my AC this year. Before the technician even looked at it he commented several times about how old the unit was. Then he told me he found a crack in the drain pan. The repair would be $350-$1000, so I should think about just replacing it. The sales guy comes out that day and quotes me a price of $4500 or I could just replace the furnace and AC for $11,000. Are you kidding me? I went from a $109 maintenance to an $11,000 replacement. I called another company who came out inspected the problem and told me there was no crack at all, it was a simple PVC pipe issue which was repaired for $100. That is so dishonest. It makes me sick to think we could have replaced two functioning units for $11,000 when it was a very simple problem.

Such caring and professional men! Their leader, Dave, came by to check at the start of the job that all work was understood that had to be done, and to check all was going well. The 2 men that installed my new A/C and Furnace took care with my house putting down throw carpet so no messes occurred when the old or new equipment went out or in. They were very cognoscente that I have cats too so that the cats did not get out of the house as the guys were working. Appreciated their understanding! They were very clean, professional and answered all and any questions I had. The job was a big one and they did an expert job. Dave came back to do a Happy Customer check and make sure I understood all the equipments essential parts. I did because the guys had done that with me too before they left. I love my new high efficiency furnace and am soooo looking forward to A/C time to see that the new blower in the furnace & condenser make a huge difference with cooling my home while lowering my bills! Very grateful for Pyros work. I highly recommend them! They do hot water tanks and more too-keep them on your radar!!

My furnace was emitting an odor that smelled of burning electrical wiring. Rick came to my house and put on booties over his shoes before walking through the house. He diagnosed the furnace and found the problem to be a faulty relay switch mounted on a circuit board that overheated thus melting the plastic housing.Rick ordered the part and returned the following day and installed it. Rick was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional.

I called at 10 pm when my furnace went out and we couldnt figure out what was wrong. The lady that answered took my info and said the on call tech would call me. Waited an hour before realizing they were not going to call back so I went and bought space heaters to survive the night. Got a call this morning at 7:45 am checking to see if I still needed service. Was told the tech was on a job and didnt get my message until 3 am. Told him I had to call someone else and that the lady should have called me back or told me from the beginning that the tech was on another job so I could have called other places last night. Poor customer service in an emergency situation for me. I will never call again and will tell others not to either.

I called and asked for an estimate for a new furnace installation including ductwork. The person who came out made me feel like I was being pressured into committing to buying before he even did the estimate. I told him I had at least two other companies that I was having come and he basically told me if I couldnt commit to having an installation in the next 2 weeks, they wouldnt be able to do business with me. I asked him to leave because I cant commit when I dont even have any idea what it will cost me. I was not happy and will not recommend this company to any friends or family.

Very pleased with the service Mike Vaccaro provided in the cleaning and inspection of our furnace. I would recommend and above all plan on requesting him for any future service.

June 2013. We had both an A/C and furnace installed June 2005. Some parts have a 5 and some have 10 year warranty. We have had Pyro come out and service both furnace and A/C every season since installation to keep the warranty active. This summer during the routine A/C inspection, our tech indicated with his $400 leak detector that the condenser had no refrigerant, the coil had a leak, and that we would need an entire new unit for $2000. This would include a new 10 year warranty since there were a few years of warranty left on some parts. This inspection cost $128.20. Not very happy, I had a second evaluation of our system. All that was wrong was the filter dryer. Pyro did refund us the $128.20 and agreed this problem should have been caught. Can you imagine spending $2000 needlessly? They would have come out, ripped out the old system with a new one. We have severed out relationship with Pyro and I have A/C without spending $2000.

This is the second time Pyro has pulled my fat out of the freezer with an old furnace breaking down. Many thanks to them and to Mike on this most recent visit. He was friendly, knowledgeable and capable.

Pyro Heating & Cooling is an excellent company that will work with you to meet your needs. Rusty and Nate recently installed a zoning system in my house, performed the tune up on my air conditioner, and installed a new thermostat to replace the old one that had been there for years. Both Rusty and Nate were professional, and it was a pleasure to speak with them about what they were doing. They were happy to answer my questions about how the zoning system worked. Excellent experience with Pyro!Edited 6/12/17: Mitchell just serviced our air conditioning. It was a pleasure to work with Mitchell again (he serviced our furnace in the winter as well). Unfortunately for us, we did have to replace a part on the air conditioner and found out that we need to consider replacing our AC very soon, but Mitchell called Matt at Pyro to arrange a time for Matt to come out to talk about options in terms of ACs and financing. Always a pleasure to work with Pyro, and we look forward to see Mitchell the next time we need service.

Great experience working with Pyro after struggles with competitors. Had questions dealt with very quickly by management and techs were very prompt, professional and courteous.

Jon Coons performed the yearly maintenance on our furnace and air conditioner. We found him to be very competent, professional, knowledgeable and capable. We will certainly request him next year.

Matt of Pyro came out to maintain two furnaces in our home January 5th. He spend considerable time with our Lennox furnace, reviewing and familiarizing himself with our system and took time answering my many questions about maintenance and things I should be doing (filters on humidifier and furnace, etc) very patiently. Matt was very professional, always put on his boot covers after his many trips in and out of house and cleaned up after his visit. Thank you Matt and Pyro for your excellent care.
