Excellent service, guys were very professional. Licensed arborist informed how the tree should be trimmed and pruned. Not butchered like others. Tree looks great.

Look I think its time they change their name from Davey Tree Expert to Davey Tree Expertly leave a mess all over your yard, dont knock on your door to let you know they will be working in your yard company granted they came back the next day to clean their mess, but it wasnt until after I called and complain. We didnt hire them it was a bid contract thru Centerpoint Energy and unfortunate for us they ruined my 40 year old Magnolia and Oak Tree (see pics).... Anyways I will never pay for that type of unprofessional garbage work.

DAVEY Trees is not the cheapest tree service. Nonetheless, they provide quality tree care guided by an arborist. I have been using them for years and plan to continue to use them. When my trees do not need trimming or feeding Curt says so. He explains the rationale for their trimming style. I appreciate those actions. Today three men came out and trimmed up my front yard oaks that are taller than our two story house. They do not over trim. Never create “lion’s tails”. They clean up excellently. DAVEY TREES also contributes to tree research referenced by Texas A&M (A&M told me this.) I feel my huge trees and future arborists benefit from DAVEY TREES.

If you look at my other reviews you’ll see I have high expectations when it comes to service quality, and I can honestly say that Curt Smith at Davey has exceeded all my expectations for over 2.5 years now. They planted a beautiful tree in my front yard in 2018 and Curt has been available to answer any and all questions I’ve had since then. I’m currently in the process of identifying another tree to plant and Curt is fielding all my questions, texts and pictures. I would highly recommend calling Curt at Davey if you need any kind of tree service.

Really helped remove deadwood from multiple trees, shaping without removing too much of the canopy. Cleaned up after themselves, courteous. Climbed trees as needed for more precise tree trimming.

Davey team did an excellent job all around from the representative who worked with me on what should be done to the crew that came out and did the work. Top notch all the way.

Did not clean up after cutting branches and left a mess

I called Davey to have some trees removed. Alex and his team came by the next day and gave us some options instead of removal. We ended up keeping the trees (for which I am so thankful) and having them pruned and cabled for stability. Davey was very professional and I appreciated their suggestions on what we could do instead of removal. Alexs team was very friendly, professional and hard-working. The job was done correctly and quickly. I will definitely use them for any other tree issues that arise. I would highly recommend them!

Dave’s tree service was hired by our HOA to maintain part of the grass that is between the road and sidewalk on the main road, they ruin my grass by cutting very low to show dirt. All the homes they cut have there own landscaping company, WE don’t need them. I have high standards,

Davey Tree trimmed trees as part of a job for the electric company. We were out of town at the time so our brush was left. We gave them a call and they came back to get the brush! Very polite when I got the phone to arrange the pickup. Keep it up guys!

Davey Tree planted a beautiful red oak tree in my backyard replacing a tree planted by my home builder that had died. I was very happy with how well their guys prepared the location and soil before planting and the new tree has been growing great! Very courteous and efficient - excellent service !

Center Point hired this firm to cut trees from the forest behind my house. My neighbor watched them toss some of the large branches over the fence in my back yard to avoid having to clean them up.

I have used The Davey Tree Company in Houston, Texas, for 25 years. The trees on my property always look amazing.Do not confuse the residential tree care department of Davey Tree with their utility service department. Utility service trimming has constraints established by the energy providers and does not represent the capabilities of the other, customer driven service division.Once a year, Davey spends several days trimming the many trees on my property to remove dead wood, thin the canopy to lessen the chance for wind damage, and to ensure the proper clearance over City streets. Cabling has also been installed to prevent a few weak angles in the trunks from splintering and ripping the trees in half.All of the large oak trees have lightning protection, just in case. Additionally, Davey has installed root barriers to prevent foundation damage when a tree is “too close” to the house.The trees receive deep root fertilization annually.After Harvey, Davey also drilled deep holes around the trees and back filled them with compost. The holes provided aeration for the roots, which had been compacted by the flood waters.The health of my trees is extremely important to me. They are spoiled with the excellent care they receive from Davey.The long time representative for my part of Houston, Wyatt Bilby, coordinates the care and proper schedules for trimming and fertilizing. His crew is comprised of long time, proficient employees who never cease to amaze me with their ballet within the branches.I highly recommend the company for any and all tree services needed. Davey Tree Experts work exactly as their name states, they were EXPERTS!Davey Tree gave a full service job and a facelift to our property.Davey Tree was quick, efficient and cleaned up ALL the mess from the limbs and branches.Now our home can breathe, because we can see it! Davey Tree made sure limbs that could potentially cause harm, by falling on our roof were cut down. Also no limbs or debris from cutting were left on the roof or the ground.The yard was spotless when the job was completed. Well done thank you for the facelift Davey Tree Experts!

Cut trees on my neighbors property and hurt their dog with falling debris

The organization has a stellar reputation in Houston and lives up to it. There are certainly cheaper options but the professionalism is unmatched.

I’m not 100% sure if this is correct but I think I recall seeing Dave’s pick up trucks & I had been meaning to leave a positive review for some time. How it usually works since I’m so busy is that I’ll remember randomly in middle of night and if I don’t ask now I’ll forget to write this! This is for the company that is newly working in my neighborhood on the Westside of town. Your technicians are professional and they do an amazing job! For some reason there doesn’t seem to be a set schedule which I did prefer about the last company we had for many years. I am a huge walker, our family does bike rides so it’s helpful to know what days especially for those with allergies. Now my husband was worried when he first saw the truck because he had been informed they were pricey but their quality of work supersedes their reputation which is likely why they may be more expensive but then again that’s all relative on the specific scope of work. And as far as tree manicure goes our neighborhood has been neglected in common areas and could be doing much better given our HOA dues that continue to climb at the 16 year plus mark past stabilization. I look forward to seeing them around and blessings.

If u could give a minus Id do it.I want to post pic of the sheading Italian Cypress trees since 2016,I was under the impression that Davey tree was treating my Italian cypresses, as other trees I have shedding that is terrible in chunks of the cypress that is blowing across my deck and my swimming pool,I tried to reach out to my advisor and unfortunately my advisor was not available,when I asked to speak to his superior they would not put me in contact with anyone else. Id have to speak to him.I very Distraught regarding the type of service, or there lack of.received from this professional company or so they claim.they are not professionals they have never thought of the simplest things to be doing such as soil samples, I have to learn that from my local nursery you would think these young ones have a onnagara degree, start with the basic folks.Very upset we just had our swimming pool cleaned this morning, now Italian cypress is flowing on top of the water.How would you like chunks on your deck & pool.REALLY

I just asked one of the employees how long he has a very bad talking to me some other person was no better after 20 of standing in my driveway he said went I was just calling the police, he said 1 hours ok I will see 1 hours later today I will call the police out here.

Excellent service for optimal tree health. Intelligent pruning and need specific fertilization. Very expensive, however. Would not recommend for basic clearing/clean-up jobs.

They saved our tree after we transplanted it and it is growing strong now.

Our trees are healthier and we are more informed thanks to Amaury Martinez and Davey Trees. The technicians performing the services are professional and respectful of our property while working. They answer questions and seem to enjoy the work they do. The sales arborist (Amuary) always follow up to make sure the services were completed to satisfaction and is willing to schedule time to meet on site when necessary. We have used Davey for the following services - bi-annual fertilizing, trimming, stump removal, and moss ball spray.

They are the best across the board. without a doubt the most educated in their field and service is the best.

I Only trust a professional company like Davey Tree with REAL arborists to suggest how to trim my trees. Trees add such value to your home.Just because someone has a business card, a truck and a chainsaw that doesn’t make them knowledgeable about trees. I’ve seen too many neighbor’s trees over trimmed and screwed up by unprofessional tree trimmers. Over trimming causes your tree to send out suckers to recover which gives the unprofessionals a reason to come back next year and trim suckers again and again suffocating the tree. Shameful! Davey doesn’t do that. Do your research before you let someone ruin your tree.

They pretend to not speak English and ask for someone that speaks Spanish when they speak English PERFECTLY. Signs of dishonesty are no bueno

The arborist was knowledgeable and the tree trimming was good but the bill payment services is terrible. Davey sent my bill by US mail to the wrong address and this has prevented me from making payments by credit card. In spite of several calls to Davey to correct this, payments by credit card still cannot be made. The office staff is very ignorant about information needed to make payment by credit cards.

I want to thank you for coming out to give me an estimate however, it was a bit more than I was willing to invest.

Met with the Supervisor to Discuss what would be trimmed. Clearly discussed what was to be trimmed. Davey IGNORED everything. Took 21 ft off instead of 10 ft (as was walked off with supervisor). Left logs in the corner of our yard, tore up our new sod, left branches across our yard. I wish I could leave no stars. WILL NEVER LET THEM IN MY YARD AGAIN.

Davey Tree Surgery killed a beautiful Bradford Pear Tree that I planted myself 20 years ago. Now my tree doctor says it is dead and will have to come out. It was perfectly healthybefore. And yes, he said it was because of the way it was butchered.

Poor work. Butchered our trees along with our neighbors. Left very large tree limbs in the yard and didn’t pick them up. Squashed our potted plants and broke limbs off other plants. This contracting company needs to be replaced. Also not prepared for their own job, trying to ask a neighbor to borrow a ladder. If I could give zero stars I would and I don’t usually do reviews but this company was terrible.

No follow thru on a service request.Id reached out to get my trees & shrubs fertilized. Got a quote almost immediately. However, ever since have followed up twice for scheduling the treatment. No response, no ownership, no follow thru.Will not work this firm going forward.

They are unprofessional, trashy and they do a horrible job of cutting trees. They recently cut trees in my neighborhood and they broke many of my possessions in my yard, below the trees they are cutting, including a $350 statue, hanging pots, 3 ceramic pots, and they left large branches everywhere and didn’t pick them up. I will be calling them tomorrow and they will be paying for everything they broke.

I come home to find limbs all Over my shed in the backyard and debris everywhere. I ask the worker in the bucket to remove the tree limbs and he started snickering and just nodding his head up and down, as it was not a big deal to have tree limbs laying all over my shed. Only after I started to take pictures did they remove the limbs, the crew left limbs all over my backyard. Called the office and they blew me off saying you need to call this other number, called the other number and got the run around that a supervisor would call me. Just had my backyard cleaned and ready for the weekend and now it’s a complete mess. SORRY EXCUSE FOR A COMANY. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING.

Theyre men spent 6 hours in my yard when they told me one hour. Left a mess in my yard. I had to them to hurry I needed to go to work so dogs could get out of kennel to water.

Butchered our trees and I think they might have killed our oak tree. Yikes!

I live in Willis, one of your trucks with 2 of your employees in it decided that parking the truck in the culdsac in front of my house, and yard of dogs was a smart idea. When asked to leave because of them irritating my dogs while i was trying to sleep because i work overnight, i was very rudely informed that ther were taking a break there. No one on this end of the road has employed yall to do any work. By this end i mean the last 1/2 mile. The driver was smoking and so was the passenger, but the driver appeared to be either rolling a cigarette or something illegal. Since they were rude i pretended to call the cops. Its amazing how fast they left when they saw me on my phone.

Hard workers

I have used Davey for about 20 years. They come every 4 years and trim my huge Ash tree. This year they also did deep root fertilizing. They are the best. My tree looks healthy. They cleaned up my back neighbors yard and my side neighbors yard after trimming the over-hanging branches that were in their yards. One of the limbs was on the roof top of my back neighbors house -- all taken care of. We asked ahead of time that they put their dogs inside while the men were working. Great job!
