Followed instructions from seller. Called to track package through AVERITT EXPRESS the BIG DELIVERY COMPANY and to be told the process, which was to be receiving a call from 3rd party delivery company on details of the delivery. Never got the call, so I called AVERITT back just to be told the exact same thing by a different person, AND when I asked what happened to the initial call I had made to track the package, I was told no notes were added as if my 1st call never took place. STILL NO CALL, so I called AVERITT for the 3rd time and spoke to a supervisor, Jessica Lamb, and after explaining to her whats going on, she told me the 3rd party shipper had set a delivery date for the 19th of July. After telling her I never received a call to set an appointment she said the 3rd party shipper USED TO CALL AND SET UP APPOINTMENTS BUT THEY DONT DO THAT ANYMORE, instead they just pick a date to deliver and drop packages off with no regard to the customer! I then made comment about AVERITT should do the delivery and she informed me that AVERITT DOES NOT DO ANY ACTUAL DELIVERIES ANYMORE,,, THEY USED TO,,, BUT NOT ANYMORE!!! While on hold their recordings talk about 1971 with 2 people and 3 trucks,,, 50 years later they boast about having over 9000 associates, AND CLAIM THEY ARE THE #1 RATED WHATEVER IN THE INDUSTRY,,, I ACTUALLY HEARD THE SAME CLAIM FROM A DIFFERENT SHIPPING COMPANY A FEW MONTHS BACK WHEN THEY TRIED, UNANNOUNCED, TO DROP OFF A PACKAGE THAT WAS MOSTLY PACKING TAPE HOLDING FRAGMENTS OF THE CARDBOARD TOGETHER! What a wonderful world we live in today. Everyone wants more money for doing less work and are so concerned about a PAYCHECK ON FRIDAY,AND CARE ONLY ABOUT THEMSELVES NOT GOING THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THIS! And after 50 years in business my money says if those initial 2 people are still alive, they have so much money and are making so much more,,, they could care less about any package or any customer,,, THEY GOT THEIRS!

Averitt needs a better support center. Yard has to much traffic to not have a better one. In averitt needs to get rid of all 12 to 13 series trailers. The customers around Houston required new trailers to get loaded. In shops associates are not that good. When I have problems with my tractor or trailer, I will push on to another service center with a better shop

Bad customer service on dispatchers to drivers, kept waiting for pick up for hours to find out they rescheduled for another day without notifying me. Think twice before calling them

Slow! Came in here to pick up a product from the will call section. Whole process took about 40 minutes even though I called ahead and set up an appointment.

Ordered a propane generator. Delivered by Averitt. Driver called in advance to make sure someone was at home. Arrived in our residential neighborhood with an 18-wheeler. Drove carefully to my address. Driver, Rodney, was cordial and extremely efficient. Pulled the item, loaded on a hand truck, unloaded with the lift-gate and wheeled it to my garage. Cheerful all the while. Rodney moved quickly and efficiently through out. Remained friendly during the process and handled his rig in a safe and professional manner. I would gladly use Averitt again, particularly if Rodney is driving!

A lot of room to maneuver except the truck entrance is tight coming and going.

I would NOT recommend if it is an option. We get shipments from Averitt every week (due to our shipper having a contract with Averitt)and 9 out of 10 times there is an issue. Damages, missing items and the delivery people are horrible to work with. Averitt will tell you they are excellent in all of these areas but I can promise you; from a customer stand point, that I would recommend any other freight company besides them. Save yourself the hassle and damages.

Shipment was early, delivery crew was great and shipment was in in pristine condition.Communication on the part of Averitt was fantastic from start to finish.

Horrible service I ordered something from Georgia last week on Sunday night. It made it to Averitt on Wednesday morning at 7:45. Today is Monday its 7:51 and my item still isnt here and when I call all I get is excuses and now theyve stopped picking up the phone. HORRIBLE

Horrible service. They delivered a 150 lb box to the front door. I asked for help to get it on the porch (they would not deliver inside) and he said sorry the lift would not go that far. Then he started to leave without taking the wooden pallet. I asked him to at least take the pallet and he told me it was all mine. I asked again and he said he had nothing to cut the one strap. An absolute JERK!!!!! I would never use this company again.

Every time I have to schedule a pick-up with Averitt I call between 9:00-9:30AM and I let them know our warehouse closes at 3:00PM when they ask, but they never make it by that time. They are always late, and sometimes do not even show up until the next day. I would not recommend them.

Where do i even begin. Im honestly beyond disappointed. I have a business to run, when you give someone a time frame we expect it to be delievered then. Not in a few hour not the next day. We payed for a service so we expect it. Especially when you miss the delivery the actual day it was suppose to come, as a company you should go out of your way to make it right.Excuse after excuse even if they may be real excuses its amazing how both times ive had something delivered “the lift gate stopped working” “this isnt my usual route the original guy designated to this route didnt show up” “your freight is stuck in the middle” is what i hear. In the 2 days of them not delivering on time ive lost 12k in a week.I have employee’s to pay, bills to pay, i have a business to run.Its the small mistakes from their end that cost me money. When you give someone a time frame FULFILL IT. Your going to say sorry and move on yet we get stuck dealing with the bs after.Im sure others are pleased with their services, i am not nor would i recommend them.

What a horrible experience and still not done with them. They scheduled for Thursday, didnt deliver, waited all day Friday, nothing not even a phone call. Finally I called them at 5:00 to see where my shipment was and they had turned my delivery around because the driver had pickups to do. Didnt even bother calling to tell me. After I contacted Home Depot they called Averitt. I guess the little guy didnt know I was on the phone because he told Home Depot I rescheduled for Monday. Three days off work waiting and no apology from these guys. Bad bad customer service. The other thing that infuriated me was they asked if I would be available to unload 88 pounds. We will see how Monday goes.

Best freight company around hands down!!

0 Stars. Package was supposed to be delivered on Wednesday 6/11/2014, between 3-5pm. Get home and no delivery was made. Called Averitt, and was told the package was lost/misplaced/loaded on wrong truck. I had to call them for this info, no courtesy call. Well today Friday, 6/13/2014 I call back and there is no update. This is a $700 grill, that I hope didnt fall off the truck if you know what I mean. Guess I wont be smoking a brisket for Fathers Day.

Averitt express is the worst freight company it not only took me 3 WEEKS for waiting to be delivered, THEY FINALLY ANNOUNCED THAT THEY HAVE LOST WHICH TRUCK THEY HAD PUT MY ITEM. I have literally waited over 3 weeks.I believe giving this one star is a waste.The worst of the worst freight company

BY FAR AVERITT EXPRESS IS THE WORST LTL FREIGHT COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED. IT HAS TAKEN THEM 3 DAYS TO DELIVER A HOUSTON TO HOUSTON SHIPMENT OF 8 PLT 19000 LBS. THEY CAME AND DROPPED OFF 1 PLT AND TRYIED TO LEAVE WITHOUT GIVING US A STATEMENT 7PLTS SHORT. SMH 2 DAYS LATER AND STILL NO DELIVERY. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THEM EVER AGAIN. I WILL MAKE A POINT TELL OTHERS HOW BAD THEIR SERVICES ARE . I USED THE WORD HATE TO REVIEW THIER SERVICE, THAT IS A VERY STRONG WORD!!!

One of there driver littely Harrassed me and my family when we were on the road he was tail gating us and honking at us to go faster he kept on trying to act like if he was going to hit us ... his driver number in the back of the truck is 544020

HORRIBLE customer service and drivers. Scheduled appointments are NEVER kept and there is absolutely zero communication on their end. If you call to find out where your stuff is, be prepared to receive the run around over and over and over. Very frustrating all the way around.
