1 May, 2021. Tody I went in to replace the battery. But somehow they shatter the glass of my wrist watch while trying to replace the battery. I was offered free replacement if I leave the watch for a week. But, i refused and left, highly disappointed due to the poor handling and carelessness.

My Grandmother gave me a ring a suiter gave to her in the 1930s. This ring was a beautiful garnet, set in white gold with filigree detail. I rarely took it off and the one time I did, I thought I lost it. We found the ring in a parking lot crushed and the stone was gone. Ramiro at Memorial Watch and Jewelery Repair was confident he could bring it back...with a blurry picture of the ring and what was left of my ring, he set off, 3 weeks, he said. I picked the ring up today (less than 3 weeks later) and oh my God...its as if the ring was never damaged. They were able to salvage the filigree detail and set a beautiful garnet almost exactly the same shape and size as the original one. I love it...I have no words to express my gratitude. I definitely recommend them and I would definitely go back.

First, they did do some jewelry repair which was just fine, it is the watch and clock repair to which I refer now. Last year, I took in my Rolex as it was slow and they charged me $400 + for the service, cleaning they said. It still did not work. I took it back, they supposedly fixed it. Not. So now I am out the $$ AND had to take my watch elsewhere to be fixed. Cost $139 and works perfectly. What was wrong? Needed cleaning! Also, I took my grandmothers mantel clock to be repaired as it ran slowly, lost time. It is an 8 day clock and although not valuable it was hers and so I wanted it to work. Same story, took it back 3 times, paid I dont remember how much but a lot and it still loses time at least 30 minutes a day. Actually I am not sure how much how quickly as I havent been able to use it for a year and NEVER going back there again! So, if you should buy a watch there, fine but dont count on the repair service.

Needed batteries replaced on a couple of watches. Googled to find this place with the highest ratings. And after visiting I understood why. Super friendly, the replacement was quick, painless, economical, and efficient. The owner engaged me in great conversation. Time flew and before I knew it, my stuff was done. He was also kind enough to give me a discount. Definitely going back and would recommend them to everyone.

I came to this shop to service my watches based on the reviews and so far, it is not disappointing. I brought in 4 different watches, 1 for battery change and the other 3 just for link adjustments. Ben, the older white gentleman, took a look at the watches and told me all 4 will be ready in approximately 20 minutes. I told him Ill be around the neighborhood as he was about to ask if I need to leave a phone number to call me when theyre ready. After 20 minutes or so later, I came back in and he just came out with my watches. He informed me the battery changing watch needs some service done as the watch has been sitting for quite a while (which is true) and the battery has corroded. He even showed me the original battery with a bit of corrosion on it. He said I could still get a new battery but it probably wont last more than 3 months due to potential contamination by the acid or he could quote me an estimate. I asked him for the estimate and he came back and let me know the price which I feel is a fair price. As for the link adjustment, some fit nicely but there was 1 that was a bit too tight so he re-did it again really quickly by putting some links back in. The link adjustment is $10 a piece and I pay for that first. As for the service of my other watch, Ben have inform me theres about 7 days lead time and ask me to fill out the full contact detail for them to call me when its ready. I will also pay for the service then.Over all, its a small mom-and-pop watch repair shop that I do see men in dress shirts stopping by during lunch time to get their watch adjusted, repaired, or serviced. I would recommend this place to any of my friends who needs to get their watch repaired.

Honestly the most well rounded and respectable business I have been to. I went in there to buy a watch and upon making an offer on one they pulled out a calculator and showed me how much profit they were making and if I was okay with it. I went in just to look, but wound up with an assortment of items because they gave deals that I havent been able to find anywhere else. I have never seen a business treat me as well as these guys did and they certainly have my business anytime in the near future.

These guys are the nicest and most helpful watch repair place I have ever been to. I brought in two watches of my late fathers that had been sitting in a box for almost 20 years. One of them only needed a new battery, which they repaired while I waited... maybe 5-8 minutes. The other watch was corroded and simply replacing the battery just wasnt cutting it. The very helpful gentleman behind the counter offered to give me a free estimate to fix it, if I was willing to leave it. He also said that he would take 50% off the cost of the estimate to fix/clean it. So I left my fathers watch in their possession. When I went in to pick it up, the watch was all of the sudden working!! Confused, I asked if they fixed it and told them that I was only supposed to be getting an estimate to fix it. He said that they DIDNT fix it... somehow the watch started working on its own with just the battery replacement. I offered to pay them for the battery and whatever work they did on it, and this wonderful man said NO. Take it. NO CHARGE. Can I at least pay you for the battery? I asked. He simply said, No Maam. Dont even worry about it. Enjoy your watch. I almost started to tear up because I was so grateful... I mean, how often do you find a company that just pays it forward like that? This watch is very special to me and I just recently found it in my dads stuff. I cannot thank the people of Memorial Watch Repair enough for their generosity. I will take any and all watches of mine here from now on, and you should too!

Brought my Rolex Submariner in for repair and servicing. The stem was gimpy, and since the timepiece was over ten years old I had it serviced. The last time I went to a Rolex dealer in the Galleria area and paid a fortune for a five year service a while back and got a minimum warranty. After receiving my Submariner from service and repair it operates superlatively and my tab was far below what I paid in the Galleria area. Great management under the new General Manager who bent over backwards to satisfy other customers while I visited both times. A little out of my way, but well worth it in economical savings. Plus, I got a two year warranty on my stem repair, better than Rolex and the Galleria store. Thanks, Memorial Fine Watches for great customer service and timely repair.

I was so pleased and thankful to find this place at the last minute the day before Christmas Eve after looking everywhere for a watch winder for my boyfriend. Brought in a Tissot watch for a new battery. They replaced battery the same day for a reasonable price. I will happily return here and highly recommend their service.I had tried several times at another chain jeweler, but could never find a watch repair person on site. Additionally, the only battery replacement offered by the other jeweler was to send the watch out for replacement and charge more money for shipping (if I ever happened to be in the store at the same time as their watch repair person). Thankfully, I did not take them up on their offer.

I am 55 years old and I have never written a negative review in my life about any company. Its just not what I do and I wont waste my time doing it, I just never give the company my business again. But I find what happened to me at Memorial Watch Repair extremely wrong, I would never want it to happen to anyone else. If I could give less then one star I would. So here I go, you can make up your own mind. I have a Rolex my wife gave to me on our anniversary 10 years ago. When I lived in Dallas, I took it to the same watch repair company every year and got it serviced, cleaned and polished. I never had a repair in my life on this watch it has been an incredible watch. After 10 years I accidently cracked the face and needed to replace it. I didnt have the time to take it back to Dallas so I looked at several watch repair companies in Houston and decided on Memorial. After taking it in they told me it would be three weeks to have it repaired. I thought this was a bit long, but I was having the face replaced, a clasp replaced and having it cleaned and polished, so I agreed. At the end of three weeks, I hadnt heard from anyone so I called to find out if my watch was ready. The man told me it would be another three weeks. I couldnt believe it, when I asked him, Six weeks for this type of repair seems too long at which he responded, Oh have you repaired watches before? I was floored at his response. Because the watch had already been there for three weeks, I just said go ahead and get it done. At the end of six weeks I hadnt heard anything, so I called. Needless to say it still wasnt ready. They never called me one time to let me know. At the end of eight weeks I told the owner, never mind doing the repair, I just wanted to pick my watch up on Saturday with out the repairs being done. I showed up on Saturday and the owner had left out the back door. One of his employees called him and told him I was waiting. He told me over the phone he couldnt get the repair guy to answer and so he doesnt have my watch. Yes they sourced the repair out, something they never told me. Excuse, after excuse, after excuse, I finally got my watch back after NINE weeks. I paid $670 to have it repaired. I gladly paid it and was glad to get my watch back. The Next Day I was talking with the VP of my company and my watch fell to the ground. The clasp they had repaired was not secured and it came apart. Fortunately I know enough about watch repair that I was able to fix what they didnt. The very Next Week someone ask me what time it was, when I looked at my watch, it had stopped. In 10 years of owning this beautiful Rolex and maintaining it every year I have never had one problem out of it. Yet after Nine weeks at Memorial Watch Repair not only did the clasp come apart, but my watch has stopped working. Someone said to me, if it was my watch I would take it right back over there and demand they fix it. Even after paying $670 and the watch has stopped, I will gladly find some one else to repair it. I would NEVER take my watch to this place again, not even to let them take a look at what they did wrong. Its sad to think I have this beautiful Rolex, that means the world to me because my wife gave it to me, and now it doesnt work. Nine weeks, excuses after excuse, and $670 later and I am now looking for another repair shop to fix the work I already paid Memorial to do. I just hope after NINE weeks at Memorial Watch Repair they havent messed it up to bad. Totally incompetent and worst customer service I have ever had! This is the first and probably the last review I will ever write about any company. But it was that bad so just thought you should know what you get with Memorial Watch Repair!

I just came from there ... I had an old watch that needed a battery and I was thinking about a new band. When we started looking through their selection they showed me right away how the particular shape of my band-mounting points would mean some bands wouldnt work properly (or easily, at any rate). I started looking through some other sizes and ended up picking one that was more than twice the price of the first one Id selected. When he realized that, the guy waiting on me voluntarily cut the price by over 30%! That meant I got a great deal on a Wenger band and didnt have to wait for them to take it back off my watch, after theyd already sized it for me. Thanks, Memorial Watch and Clock Repair of Houston!

After all the great reviews, I was very disappointed. My watch was held in the shop for a long time twice for repair. In the end we have send the watch back to the manufacturer to get it repaired correctly. The watch was not a year old and I was charged $375 for a cleaning that I dont think it needed. I noticed while waiting in the shop that many people came in to ask about repair work and most were told it was not ready yet. Probably OK for changing batteries and watch bands, I wouldnt recommend them for anything more than that.

We went last year to get battery replacements, 2 watches, $20 total ($10 each). My wife went today, two watches $38. I know some watches might be more difficult to open/seal/close than others, but I dont feel this was the case.My wife didnt ask how much it was going to cost assuming it would cost the same as last time. By the time she realized it was almost twice as expensive, it was already too late. She called me frustrated about it.Advice to management: Tell people how much you charge for services before you start working, so you make sure they dont have negative feelings afterwards and they end up giving you a meh rating in Google maps.Advice to wife: Always ask how much services cost.

Very disappointed with the service at this shop. I went in for a simple battery change on a brand new Victorinox watch (had it for a couple years but never wore it). I was charged $15 for a battery change and was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. Once I received the watch back I noticed 2 huge scratches along the backplate and frame of the watch that was inflicted while trying to remove the twist off steel backplate. I immediately showed this to the woman at the desk and they brushed it off like it was no big deal. I demanded that it be fixed and the man in the back that does the service came out and said he could buff the scratches but it wouldnt be ready for a couple days. I agreed and left the watch.I came back 2 days later to be told that he had forgotten what the watch was there to be serviced for. . . Ended up leaving it another day after reminding him that he needed to repair the damage that HE INFLICTED. Came in the next day and picked up my brand new watch with the scratches removed, BUT most of the engraving from my company also removed. There was no offer for refund on the battery, or compensation for my time during this ordeal. I will never be back to this very unprofessional shop. I can get better service at a cheaper price pretty much anywhere else.
