Stayed here for about a week and it wasnt bad. Lobby was empty with no workers in sight, but it did have a musty smell to it. Rooms were decent and pretty clean. The hotel was close to the main road and it was nice not having to walk for far. AC was trash because it didnt cool the room but it was nice to have a sliding door when we slept. It was pretty sketchy because throughout the night it seemed that people tried opening our door, but no worker to report it. It was a great place to stay but honestly, fork out the extra cash and stay somewhere nicer.

To say we enjoyed our stay at the Marine Surf Waikiki Hotel would be a great understatement! Although this is an older hotel, it is definitely first class! Why? Service and attention to detail! From the moment we booked it, Tom Merrick, the owner has been in communication with us-- informing us of his facility and the issues dealing with Hawaiis travel restrictions. Although this motel is somewhat self-service, we never lacked anythin. My wife fell in love with the room the moment we walked in. We really liked that it has a full kitchenette fully equipped with real plates and utensils, a set of kitchen knives, glass plates, glassware, pots/pans, a coffee maker, and even a blender. Really, too many more things to mention. If and when I come back to Waikiki, I will stay here AND will definitely recommend it to friends and family. THANK YOU TOM! :-)

This is a good place for your dollar. Only a short walk to shopping and the beach. You need a Key fob to get in to the building which I loved that. Parking is free and you get an assigned parking spot. I love that you get a kitchen with the amenities you need to cook and clean. Yes the furniture is out dated but it has a nice little beach feel to it. The management was helpful to all all our needs. We will definitely stay here again.

Second time renting an Airbnb at this location. Secure building with a convenient location to all of of Waikikis key spots. There is on site parking.. but the clearance is low and some spots are small. All and all the best rental location I have experienced in Waikiki.

We booked through Grand Welcome the room had some mould, which they played off as not mould but environmental stuff like dust and dirt. The vacuum didnt work and the broom was ridiculously small, so cleaning was a pain as well. The cupboards all smelled musty so we had to keep our dishes under the coffee table to keep them fresh. The bed felt like it was going to fall apart and sunk in the middle. We also couldnt sit on the balcony because water dripped everywhere from the unit above and our own AC unit was really loud and never kept the room cool unless we lowered the temp to 68°F. The fridge was really cold and we had free parking, between those two and decent cable and internet those were the only positives.

What a great deal this place is! 5 minutes walk to the beach and the place not only has a full kitchen and full size refrigerator but comes with EVERYTHING you could possibly need, including beach chairs, beach towels, a beach umbrella, a big box of toys for the kids, pots, pans, glasses and cups, coffee filters, etc, etc. Holy moly we found a gem. Oh it comes with a Boogie board too gotta go surfs up!FYI this is about room 2108. This is a building of privately owned condos, so each one is probably different. Theres no lobby or check in desk, they send a code for the mailbox and you retrieve the key there at the beginning and just leave it in the mailbox at the end. Theres no maid. But it came with everything, even salt, pepper, and sugar. No complaints! Great location too, about 10 minutes walk to the Duke Kahanamoku statue at Waikiki beach but theres beach access 5 minutes away. Bring the Boogie board!

21Jul19-01Sep19.. I stayed here in Apt 1709 for 6 weeks. I had to stay here for work. There are several issues with this apartment. I couldnt enjoy the balcony because water leaked from the apartment above and continued to blow on the seats and table on the balcony. The AC blows on the entertainment unit and there is a fan that blows that diverted air through the room and the air was never constant. The refrigerator door doesnt stay closed on its own. The stove was welded on the top. I never used it. After watching TV for greater than 5 mins, I had to turn the TV off and then on again to change the channel. I had to buy air fresheners because the room had such a damp, musty smell. Other units may be different but unit 1709 had its problems.

Love the location hear of Waikiki, definitely walk anywhere in Waikiki for shopping food and beach as well. Some units are renovated very nicely in the building. Building has assigned parking and you can come and go without paying. The building has a pool on the 4th and laundry machines card operated on every floor starting from the 4th floor up.

Beautiful views! Just stay away from the massive homeless areas.

It seemed like a nice place from thousands of miles away when we booked our condo rental. There is a beer garden/outdoor concert venue on the Northeast side of the building that plays loud, poor covers of otherwise great songs from 5pm-11:30pm daily depending on how busy they are, which isnt mentioned anywhere in the listing. The bed was hard as a rock and the kitchen in our unit on the 14th floor was poorly equipped. We slept horrible due to the constant sirens, music, and general chaos that surrounds Waikiki. Will not be coming back to Waikiki again. We tried to get flights home two days early and werent able to. Overall it was a mistake. I will say that the staff at the security desk was VERY helpful, kind, and friendly, and was the most pleasant part of our stay. Unfortunately that interaction only accounted for 30 mins of the 4 days we were in Waikiki. We were going to try the restaurant on the ground floor, but it was always empty (no atmosphere) and was incredibly overpriced.

View from 8th floor was of another hotel otherwise I would have rated the Marine Surf Waikiki 5 stars. Studio room was renovated nicely, with full kitchen, wood flooring and great extras (full size bath amenities, snorkel gear).

My boyfriend and I stayed at an AirBNB in this hotel and we really loved the central location. In immediate walking distance is the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, multiple yummy restaurants and 2 gay bars (In Between and Bacchus) if youre into that scene. The not so nice; lobby and elevators smell intensely of the crab restaurant on the 1st floor, thankfully the smell went away by the time we reached our room on the 7th, but I would be worried about the smell if we were on a lower floor. Also, aside from the room which had a window ac unit, expect no AC in the building. All in all, a great cheap find in an amazing location.

This unit was so noisy! We stayed in the peacock room 1003. Yes the location is close to everything BUT you have to put up with the noise...the units are very close to 2 loud thumping nightclubs and they supply ear plugs for you to sleep. Terrible and very small. It was stinking hot so when we turned the air con on it was like we were in an airplane (so noisy). I DO NOT recommend this place.

The unit 2004 is managed by Chris who doesnt communicate at all. Dont use a booking service. Use the hotel itself. The lobby cannot help you.

My reservation was for March 23- march 31st at marine surf room 806. I rented the unit from hawaii condo resorts inc. 1860 ala moan blvd. After 2 nights I was covered in bed bug bites. At least 80 bites all over my body including my face. The management company is hiding it. I checked out immediately but the company is not acknowledging the bed bugs even thousands they saw most of my bites and had pictures of the bug on my bed. If room 806 has bugs and the management company is hiding it, Im pretty sure there are other rooms with bugs

I stayed at Airbnb 3-4 times. Recently, Im using Airbnb because the hotel in Waikiki has become so expensive. Above all, the location is good and the best.

As 1F is restaurant as attention of stay on lower floor, @garlic smell drifts by wind direction.In addition, Ali and Cabane G appear and disappear depending on the room. (Even though they dont come out of both.) Therefore, it is necessary to process meals and trash in the room and arrange luggage every time.Luggage has to be always closed properly.There are few worries about insects from the middle floor.However, the pressure of the hot water in the shower is weak.Occasionally, it is swept away by the lanai on the upper floor and garbage comes down. (This is a matter of manners)If the air conditioner is broken and used in some rooms, it will emit a burnt smell, the sound will be unusually loud, and there will be rooms where water comes out of the air conditioner and the floor gets wet.When the windows are open without using the air conditioner, during the day peoples voices and the sound of cars echo in the neighboring buildings, and from the evening conversation on the lanai in other rooms and loud and strange voices of customers in the nearby bar It is noisy all the time. (Especially on weekends) * Karaoke stops at 22:00.The corridors on each floor are dim.If you do not mind them, you can not enter outsiders with a dedicated key, so security is safe and walking is good in the center of Waikiki, and a parking lot for exclusive use of accommodation depending on the room (If you do not have a key card when entering the first day (Note that there are some places that are not available.) (* Depending on the location, park in a low place of the building, so please check because there are places where medium-sized cars and high-roof cars are useless! Stop at the fixed place for each room. The location of this building is ideal: very close to everything in Waikiki, the beach is about 3 blocks and you can take the bus to the city just 1 block away.On the other hand, the building is not very young and maintained in a summary way.The apartments are small, but benefit from one or more balconies.Very important point: the soundproofing is bad, so its very noisy! Even in the high floors and closed windows it is hard to sleep at night in view of the high sound level that emanates from the street and nearby bars.

The location is very convenient! There is a cracken kitchen on the first floor. We used in vacation rental of HIS.There is a kitchen in the room where you can cook. However, I dont know if the facility itself is old, but when I started to treat garbage with a sink disposer while cooking, the kitchen and bath were full of water! Immerse the floor. I wiped it off with a kitchen cloth or a bath towel, but some smell remained.I immediately contacted the person in charge, but the repair will be the next day, so I just want to tell you that the reception was overflowing. We stayed at airbnb hotel of this hotel. I think the great advantage is the location is very good. There is a big mall like the food pans tree in the surroundings, Ross is right across the street and you can walk to Waikiki. If you are looking for affordable accommodation, this is a good choice. The only drawback was that I saw three very small cockroaches crawling out of the tub drain. Noise was not a problem at all.

I used it with 3 family members.I used a rental car, but one car was included in the accommodation.I stayed for a week, eating out every time, so I went shopping at my nearest Safeway and cooked myself.It was very convenient because all dishes, cutlery and cookware for 4 persons are also available.There is a cleaning fee separately from the accommodation fee, but there is no daily housekeeping service.Laundry is available on each floor (pay, no detergent) and there are cleaning tools such as vacuum cleaner in the room.There is also an iron and ironing board.A 10 minute walk to Waikiki Beach, the ABC store is nearby and the location is perfect.The price was good, and the owner, Tom, also sent me information about having fun in Hawaii via email.I wanted to use it for my next stay in Honolulu.※ It seems that various companies own and rent rooms.
