I wanted to take the time to post and really just share how amazed and overly satisfied I am with Power Shack Gym in Hilliard. I’ve never been a member at a gym that takes the the time to know your name, where you work, how you’re doing and genuinely care about what you’re lifting. If there were more gyms like this, I truly believe it would make more people dive into their fitness and become healthier because they actually care about you getting physically fit. If you’re ever near the Columbus area they have four locations surrounding downtown in the burbs. Check them out and see what a real local gym should look and operate like.

Power shack is definitely a good gym. I’ve been a member here for the last 2 years and prior to that I jumped from gym gym, trying to find a gym that is fairly priced, with clean equipment, good staff, and not packed. I can say that this a gym that has all of that. Rarely do I find myself having to wait on equipment and I’ve been able to consistently reach my goals with the equipment that they have. Highly recommend!

Power Shack is an absolute well rounded gym. They have all of the equipment needed for SERIOUS powerlifting or body building results. Now this is where it gets awesome. The atmosphere is extremely laid back. There are members of all walks of life here. Older, younger. Bigger, smaller. It’s a quality gym with quality members. Trustworthy members that make for a comforting place to live the fitness lifestyle.I’ve been a member here for the last six years and I would never change gyms! Thanks power shack for providing an awesome place to call my gym!

Powershack is a high quality, CLEAN, gym with a supportive staff and hardworking members. Amenities are also just what you need. This gym is for the dedicated gym goer or one who wants to become one. Highly recommended!

It’s a decent gym. has everything i need in it. a little dirty, locker rooms smell like stale urine, but i just don’t use it. staff seems nice, except there is one guy at the front desk who always smells like booze when i go in.

Great equipment and clean environment along with very affordable pricing per month.

I really enjoy working out at power shack. It’s never too busy and I can get to the equipment I need, whenever I need it.

I had signed up for a 1 year membership in April 2015. In June of 2016, I realized my account was still being charged. Confused, I called for a explanation in which I was told I had renewed in April. Um, no? I havent been in over 6 months (I signed up for a new, cleaner gym with better equipment that didnt regularly break down and bathrooms that werent disgusting). I was told to call back when a manager was working - so I did - and he said after 12 months my contract became a month to month agreement. Okay, maybe you should have brought that up beforehand... but then I was told they dont handle cancellations and to do so I needed to call their third party billing partner. Seriously? They had no problem signing me up... I called Affiliated Acceptance, their third party partner known for customer complaints and fraudulence, and was told I needed to write a physical, post-office certified cancellation letter and mail it in stating my name and account number and it would take 30 days to process. So another month of being charged... Are you kidding me?! Had I known this information was hidden in my contract or that Power Shack worked with such stone age shady partners I would have never signed up.

A great Weight-lifters gym with a welcoming atmosphere for all walks of the fitness spectrum. Clientele is diverse, the customer support is awesome, it gets harder to leave the more im in there. Whether youre a machine person, free-weight, body-weight, cardio, competition lifter, casual lifter, Power Shack is where you want to be. I respect the management and members proud passion for this gym.. youll be hard-pressed to find a legitimate old-school (but also new-school because they have all of the latest machines) anywhere else.

Ive been a member of this gym for six months and its a great place to work out. I wish I had joined earlier. Power Shack has plenty of free weights and power racks for lifters in addition to lots of treadmills and machines for cardio. They also have a hip thrust machine for glutes which is very effective.Power Shack is also well maintained. Its clean, and the soap and paper towels dispensers are re-filled promptly. Members are polite and do a good job of putting the plates back on the racks. The management and staff are friendly and responsive. This gym is a gem.

Its definitely a no-frills kind of gym but the staff are always friendly and helpful and theyve got all the weight equipment you need for a good workout. Some of the cardio equipment is a little more outdated but since the gym is never full its not really an issue!

Ok... so this is an old stile hard core gym... like you cant find any more.... great machines (they look old but still work just fine), nice music and an real workout atmosphere.

Great gym with all the equipment any serious weight lifter would need. The staff are always friendly and greet you by name.

The Powershack has a variety of equipment: deadlifting platforms and real squat racks.The staff and ownership are friendly and accommodating. Personally, I’ve never had an issue with billing.

Great gym, equipment is excellent and people are serious about working out. Very nice workers.

Will automatically renew your membership without notifying you and the billing company they use is awful. Found out I was getting billed for months after the one year membership I signed for was over.

Got a 5 day free pass and on the third day the manager ask me if Im interested in a membership and I said we can talk about it after Im done working out. Tells me now or I have to pay $15. I walked out right then. The manager Nick is a douche

I have always loved this gym. Great atmosphere, easy in easy out. o hassles on using equip. Friendly members.

THIS IS FOR THE BILLING COMPANY POWERSHACK USES.The gym is great. The ownership is great. The people working there are great. All around the gym is great.The billing company used by the gym is horrible. They make it impossible to cancel the membership. Moved out of town and it took over a month to get ahold of the correct individual to cancel. The cancelation process was very long and involved. Please be aware when you sign up with a great gym that they do not handle billing and the third party company they use is atrocious.

If you do not like the big corporate gyms in the area, this place is great to work out at. Just keep all your receipts and contracts, especially if you cancel, and get things in writing!

If youre looking for an athletic club to socialize and network this isnt your place. If youre looking for a no nonsense gym with adequate weights and equipment with top notch personal trainers, Powershack is your gym.

People here are whiny. ANY real gym is not going to let you in to try the gym for free if you already have before. They also arent going to let you out of a one year contract for free unless you move 100+ miles away.This gym has a friendly great staff, its clean, has almost every piece of equipment you could ever need, and of anything breaks its fixed in a day or two good. You wont find a better gym than this in the area. If you want to pay 10 bucks a month and not have a contract then go to a crappier gym like planet fitness. You dont get the best quality of things for lower rates. Ex) station wagon vs a mercedes; box hair dye vs professional salon styling; etc.Also this gym isnt even that much a month. Put on your adult pants.

Nick picolo, may be the worst customer service manager I have ever dealt with. I went in before Christmas (2016) to take your and try club out. He verbally assaulted me and said he would not give me a 5 day pass, even though in company website, it states 5 day pass, 1 time a year per person. He said I was in in 2013 and I already tried club out.I just went in and tried to redeem a 5 day pass, Jan 22, 2017, I said I came in to try out club and have friends that are interested, he said not interested, there in the biz of selling memberships, that I was on camera, they are a private club, and if I came back I would be arrested. I said nothing but looked in disbelief, and he said why are you looking imposing? Seriously?I asked for the owners number. As a business owner myself, I would want to know knowing my employee was rude and turning people away. He refused to hand out owners info. Which leads me to believe Mr. Napoleon is the owner. Its public record, so I will find out and contact ownerBeware of Nick picolo at the power shack hilliard

Cant even buy out of year contract when you move away. Employees, when told you desire to cancel post-contract, do not mention how you need to send a WRITTEN LETTER with 30 DAYS NOTICE in order to cancel (since of course the year contract auto-becomes month-to-month after the year is up). Powershack has now taken well over $200 from me post not being able to go because all they care about is money. Customers who move away? Tough. Also, the gym is average at best. Straight out of the 70s with more tools their than machines. Garbage, would encourage everyone away from this pathetic company that uses worse billing tactics than a telephone/internet company. I guess they are so bad they need to in order to make money. Too bad they then lose customers.

Great gym. No BS. Has all the equipment you need.

Cons- First, They keep it COLD inside, I cant get my GF to go back because it is so cold in there, keep in mind it is 30 degrees and when I am not going to the gym I wear shorts and a jacket, but when I go to powershack I layer it up. Second, the place has been around 20 years, which for me is fine, but I know some people prefer new stuff, older stuff in my opinion has more character though the locker rooms could use some bleach and airing out. Third, dumbell pairs only go up to 100 or 110, anything heavier is mismatched.Pros- good array of equipment, plenty of weights and cardio, doesnt mind if you actually LIFT weights, you can use chalk (but clean up after yourself), aka this is more of a GYM than a fitness room, even though I listed a number of cons it is still overall the best GYM in the area.

Power Shack is the gym used by serious bodybuilding and weightlifting professionals. And the people are friendly. This place has more of the equipment you need and less fluff.

Never sign up with this company. I was told at the time if I moved 25 miles away from the closest location I could cancel. The billing company they use will not accept a drivers license as proof. They continued to bill my last 5 months and even now that my contract is up I am having a difficult time canceling. Might be the worst business I have ever done business with.

Good people, good prices, no hassles.

Best gym in Columbus hands down.

Do not sign up here or any other location unless you want an impossible cancellation process and bad customer service.
