I am so thankful to have this YMCA in my neighborhood. My children love the childcare and the staff is so kind and patient with them. I love the workout classes they offer and the equipment is top notch. The staff keeps everything clean and are all so friendly!! I will be a lifetime member.

Reallllyy old. In massive needs of updating.. locker rooms are haunted middle school themed. Broken lockers and appliances. My stuff got stuck in one of the decrepit lockers. Took me 5 mins to get it out. Watch out for locker 8… it’s a fighter. The sauna… if you can call it that, needs updat…no, needs to be completely replaced. It’s old, dark, really gross, and the door doesn’t close. Small pool 4 lanes. The cardio and weight room is actually decent. Appears as if the tennis court doubles as over flow parking? Havnt figured that out. No nets on the courtWe know YMCA has the budget to update it. Just do it. This is the worst Y I have been to by far. Investing 1/8th what was invested into the Arden Y would be sufficient.Staff seem pleasant. Just way over due repairs.

Went to the pool at Patton Park with friends. Was shocked at how the lifeguards spent more time talking to each other when they were on duty than watching for issues to arise. There was an incident that happened between two boys that could have been resolved if lifeguards had been paying attention. It ended up getting out of hand before they responded. There needs to be adult supervision of the lifeguards. Also I didn’t know that it was ok to eat while you were on duty lifeguarding.

Its a fine place for the community that it resides in (could use some more racks and lifting room to attract younger people). However the pool water has always been like a hot tub and even more so after they fixed something wrong with the pump. Just too hot

This is the third time I’ve moved my schedule to get a swim in early and the lifeguard no shows, leaving the pool closed. Very frustrating.

Be aware that even as a Pardee employee you are signing a 12 month agreement. The agreement is hidden and not available for review at time of cancellation. They will charge you to break your contract or make you pay through the 12 months.I’ve never had an issue at other YMCAs in regards to this.

When the Y was closed in March from covid 19 I called them to ask why they were still taking my auto payments out for my membership when they were closed? They said it was too late for a refund ( I called them in June). Apparently they needed the money more than my family did. So much for honesty and integrity from this Y. I have now cancelled and will never return. You suck!!!!!!

I’m very upset with Hendersonville’s child care. (Not the daily staff) I’ve always loved it. I enjoyed the family atmosphere and how unique the system was because the staff knew my kids very well and they were so friendly and all smiles when we came in. Recently, I noticed that staff have been much less happy and appear uncomfortable. I’ve walked in twice this week to drop off children to see an adult using a harsh voice to communicate with staff. And while I understand that the new policies are not ideal for many families in the area, it really upsets me to see the child care staff not being their usual fantastic team who I loved. I often walked in to staff spread across the room interacting with children. They often play on the ground with the babies, occupy the nervous children at the slide, and color with a group of children at the table. I walked in today to a mother being very nasty with the staff. My daughter asked her favorite staff member if she would color with her. The staff member politely said “I don’t know, darling. We can see” Then a different staff member explained to me that since policy has changed, they may not even color. This was disturbing for me because my children have always been involved with staff when I arrive, but now I feel my children are being watched, not involved when I walk in. Once again, I am very fond of the staff members. I’m just unhappy with this situation.

Suggestion for the pool: please increase the ambient temperature for the pool. Sunday the air temperature was 75 and the pool was 84. According to arthritis guidelines the air should be two degrees above the water temperature. Arthritis classes should be comfortable for workouts.

This has been the best thing about moving to Hendersonville. The staff goes out of their way to make the entire area a clean and inviting experience. The life guards are friendly. The schedule leaves lots of options for swimming. They are always improving . I like that they promote activities for the community and fund raise to help those in need to enjoy the many things offered.

New workout equipment and plenty of it. Group exercise teachers are great! The pool has been renovated, which is great, but lap swimmers and water exercise classes have to share one pool. There are lots of water loving people and it gets crowded. The staff is mostly friendly, one is a bit harsh and strict and not as kind as most of the staff.I find it discriminating that people with low income and no bank account do not have access to the YMCA because the monthly fee - even when lowered - is drafted from the bank account. It excludes people who are too poor to have a bank account. In my opinion, the young mens CHRISTIAN association, a non-profit organization, should provide the opportunity for everybody to join the YMCA.

Constant miscommunication with this particular location. Swim lessons, they said they didnt have a payment which I had to show proof from my bank account. Now, I was told by 2 different people to sign my child up for soccer by a certain week. Came in, being told I cannot sign him up. AFTER being TOLD I could come by this date to sign up. Not a maybe well still have spots I had a guarantee that I could come in this week and sign up. Come in, cash in hand, being told he cannot play. Waiting on a manager. Been an hr, still waiting. Will update when/if I can get this miscommunication on THEIR part resolved......

I have been taking yoga 3 days a week since May 2016. It started in the gym and eventually moved to studio downstairs. In the winter in was extremely cold and noisy because of AC blower. It was not conducive for yoga.It appears they forgot why it was moved downstairs in the first place. Laying there trying to relax while freezing and not being able to the instructor was counter productive. It’s unfortunate they didn’t survey the regulars to find out if WE wanted to move it.I love yoga but I’m stuck at the Y because Yoga studios are too expensive for as many classes I take in a month.

Maybe ten bucks short of a SCAM. I assume no one over the age of 70 will read this, so this is relevant to you. Ive been lifting here on and off for a year and a half, and Ive had problems with policy inconsistency, a dangerous free weight set-up, equipment malfunctions, and guest/away membership problems. THIS IS NOT A CONSISTENT AREA FOR FITNESS. I got my price misquoted after what seemed like a vigorous legal battle to set up a temporary membership as well. Its sad because my mom used to design databases for YMCAs and I used to love them. 20-year member and I will avoid this location like the plague.

Review №34

We had a good time with using the pool and we enjoyed the childs play room. The cancelation policy is somewhat of a scam. It requires the member to give a 30 day cancellataion notice in person. If one is unable to make it in person and you miss the cut off date you may be charged for another 2 months. This is very inconvenient with the internet so readily available.

On my first visit as a guest I had to fill out a form with all my information witch was no problem, made the comment if it was going to ask for my social security number as well (jokingly) and the front desk dark haired women made the snappy comment yes actually and a blood sample if I wanted to I laughed as if it was meant to be jokingly and looked up to see a face that wasnt so welcoming anymore. Made me feel like the YMCA wasnt the happy place I thought it would be. Walked into the girls locker room changed and had a nice visit to the hot tub. Left and while walking out had no Have a great night Thank you or anything.Came back for a second time and front desk red haired women was VERY NICE, had a cheerfull conversation! Now I am sitting here and just left the Y and got sprayed by a life gaurd cleaning the concrete around the pool with FREEZING WATER while in the hot tub, was very upset!
