I am one of those “walk in customers”. Regis is in the mall & I have always been a walk in person for the most part. On this occasion I walked in and NO ONE was there. The entire store wide open & NO employee to assist me or make certain they weren’t being robbed. Approximately 8 minutes later an employee finally greets me. I explained I had waited 8 minutes for assistance. the appointment for 11 am the next day. I called to tell her I’d be 5 min late due to highway construction. Walked in she told me to have a seat at her station. She brushed out my hair & I began to explain that I wanted a hairstyle that was a bit different. I told her I wanted her to try to do something for me that another stylist refused to do. She immediately told me “she did not think she could make me happy”? Wanted to know why I don’t go back to the stylist who did my last haircut. Etc etc etc, scolding me for desire to try something new or asking her to be creative. It turned into a huge waste of my time. She even scolded me for giving her instructions on how I wanted my eyebrows waxed the day before even though I told her she did a great job & returned. I really think I deserve a free haircut from Regis due to the ridiculous horrible customer service and having wasted my time two days in a row. If your employees need a break give them one! A nice long break! VERY SAD!

I moved to the Harrisburg area over 13 yrs ago from Northeast Pa and of course I had to find someone to cut my hair. So one day I went to the Capitol City Mall and found Regis. Im not a mall haircut kind of guy, but I needed a cut. I went in and was introduced to Marko. Well, 13 yrs later I am still going to Regis and Marko, even after they moved to the Colonial Park Mall. Marko and the staff there at Regis are great people, so if you want a relaxing and professional place to freshen your look up, then I would recommend Marko and the staff at Regis.

It was ok. My haircut was good. Im just not sure if I would go back. I like an experience kind of thing when I get my hair done. It felt more like a car wash, and rushed. Im hoping to find a good female friendly barber.

This place has very good stylists and very bad ones. I have gotten roughly 20 haircuts here. The woman’s who cut my hair today didn’t clean any of her scissors or clippers ... the thinning shears literally had clumps of hair stuck in them ... I’m now freaking out about LICE... luce shouldn’t come complimentary with a $33 haircut....

They really jacked up my sons haircut and didnt see anything wrong with it. I explained how I wanted it cut but they didnt listen to anything. A bowl cut would have looked better

I went and scheduled appointment at 12pm for 3pm, so i waited around the mall for 3 hours, watching Sing of all movies. I showed up 15 minutes early and was told they couldnt get me until 5 due to a double booking. When i made my appointment another hairstylist made an appointment for the same time at 3pm for the same hairstylist so now Im wondering was that appointment honored and not mine. The employee who scheduled my appointment told the girl that she had already scheduled me and she shrugged. So I just said cancel my appointment. When I walked out I heard my hairstylist laughing, looked back in and she walking to the back makes you wonder. Bad customer service, she said she tried to call me, but again I was in a movie. Wont visit Regis again period, too much competition out there. Giving a one star just to post this. The employees were courteous through the scheduling and providing phone number.

Id been to Regis this summer (Summer 2015) and loved my experience. Ive been growing out a very light brown/almost blonde color on my almost black hair for some time, and Jen C was very helpful. She mentioned that if I come back in a few months, they could easily trim the remaining blondish color and allow me to keep my length. I returned to Regis in the Colonial Park Mall last night (October 9, 2015) in hopes of doing just that -- keeping my length but getting rid of the blonde. My hair is naturally curly (Im biracial) and Ive had no issues with a simple wash, blow-dry, trim, and flat-ironing at previous trips to this or any salon. When I arrived at the salon on Friday, Oct. 9, I was told Amanda would help me. My experience began with Amanda bouncing between a text conversation on her phone and working with me. When I removed my thick curly hair from a bun and went for a wash, she asked me when I last washed my hair in a tone that seemed more disgusted than inquisitive. I think she noticed my surprise and she corrected herself, asking how often I wash my hair, again with the same tone. Once my hair was washed, Amanda took me to her chair and suggested twice that I get a relaxer. She mentioned several times that my hair is just so coarse and its going to be a lot to handle. As a biracial woman who never had any issues with my type 3B hair at any salon, this was unsettling. The second time Amanda mentioned that I should consider a relaxer, I told her absolutely not, my hair isnt that coarse and I dont use chemicals on my hair -- the reason I told her I was trying to cut the blonde out completely. I went from being slightly annoyed to frustrated and honestly a little hurt.Amanda began blow-drying my hair and throughout this time, telling me how thick and unruly my hair is, checking on her phone, and complaining to the other cosmetologists that she couldnt wait to leave. During conversation, Amanda asked me if my boyfriend was my daughters father (out of no where). In what I assume was an attempt to upsell me to by a hair-dye service, Amanda mentioned on two occasions that I should go fire engine red, or various other shades. I explained that Im in a corporate position and work-wise and personally-wise, those bold colors just wouldnt be a good fit for me. She then promoted several products that would tame my hair, which I declined.Toward the end of blow-drying my hair, Amanda announced to another hairdresser than shes probably going to have to close with her because now she has to flat iron my hair. At this time, I said, no, dont worry about flat-ironing it, just trim the ends and Ill leave. She said okay and told me that it looked like Id only need about 1 inch off the ends.Amanda began trimming my hair and I realized within about 3 clips that she had taken off way more than we discussed. She actually trimmed off 3 inches of my hair to a length just grazing my shoulders. She also didnt even out my hair during the cut, only separating into three sections and never checking throughout; my hair, which I usually wear parted down the middle, is now shorter on the left side than the right. I realized this in the shop, but was so shocked by the comments, questions, and service that I just wanted to cry and immediately leave. Once I returned home to flat-iron my own hair, I realized how uneven the layers are in the back. I called the manager immediately after leaving the salon, but she was not in. I left a message and explained to the supervisor on shift my concerns (she mentioned she noticed I was uncomfortable). I was told the manager would call me back and have not yet heard from her.Not only did Amanda ruin my haircut, but she made culturally insensitive remarks. She looked at me and made assumptions about my life -- asking about my child and partner, frequently suggesting relaxers and ethnic products -- through questions and remarks that were not only irrelevant but offensive and too personal. The great experience that I once had at this salon is now tainted, and I will not be back.
