I would rate it 4.5 stars, but not given that option I went with 5. They are all so nice, normally I wouldnt go to a place like this to get my hair cut, but they do a great job and make me feel welcome. The only complaint is sometimes it takes longer than expected to cut my hair. (thus the -.5) but I never leave disappointed.

Yesterday evening I had a hair appointment with Christine Tennis. She is a hairstylist at Mystique Barbar Salon & Spa. I have been looking for a place to get my hair done in PA for years instead of having it done in NY. The last time I had my hair done in NY I wasnt exactly thrilled by the blonde hair I ended up with. So I had been using box color and kept my hair dark.Recently my boss had gotten her hair done and it looked beautiful. I asked for a recommendation and she told me about Christine.Christine and I discussed the different possibilities for my hair. I honestly trust her expert opinion. Instead of letting me pick something that wouldnt have necessarily been a good fit for me she helped me find a color and cut that worked best with my complexion.She is methodical and extremely precise. I loved the outcome. I needed a fresh new look and I got just that.I finally found a hairstylist that I can trust to transform my hair and make it look gorgeous.

Dawns honesty and compassion had me sold as a continuing client as much as her excellent and consise expertise! If OCD can be a quality in anyone, Dawn you friggin rock it lol! Before even sitting in the chair, Dawn communicated with me.... Which listening skills are imperative in my decision of a stylist expert! What mattered most in her eyes....revolved around ME. What began as an errand or hair appt truly ended as a pampering escape that leaves me feeling alive, vibrant and beautiful!My expectations, likes and/or dislikes, photos of current style & shape of face (HUGE FACTOR IN WHY ONE WILL LEAVE WITH SUCH DISAPPOINTMENT WITH A CUT THAT DIDT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT THAT SOMEONE ELSES LOOK DID)....all the communication and LISTENING skills Ive never expierienced like I did at Mystique beginning before I even stepped in salon! Very organized, clean and welcoming I might add! Dawns honesty on what she thought may or may not work for me — whether due to the cut, the color, or the fact that my long, thick, dry current cut didnt allow for the feel, styling or maintenance-free I was in need of. If not for Dawn I would have probably had 10less of hair right now and as miserable without my mess as much as I was with the mess! So before going that drastic route, I made the decision to research and drove that hour to see for myself what I had read by many. I wanted change but not a drastic one, I needed some self-esteem back and some ME Time ....but completely feared placing the one thing about me I and anyone that knew me to have....my long natural hair, into a strangers hands.... No matter how unhealthy it WAS. Thats past tense now because of Dawn and her ability to work magic in my opinion. Of course everyone is unique in their own way, some love this while others may not..... she sees that beauty and envisions the options before making suggestions which I 100% know..... You will find and agree she will not steer you in any direction but beautiful! Id suggest anyone reading this to do themselves a huge act of self love and trust Mystiques very own miracle worker and killer eye for style but to also restore your faith in truly compassionate, personable, honest, selfless, talented and devoted people only happy if their skill is making others happy!
