Dave, head barber at Furman Barber Shop, provides me the perfect haircut every time. He is exceptional at his craft. How did I find Dave? I had visited a barber shop in downtown Greenville, and the haircut was not at all what I asked for at all. I was very disappointed. I had an acquaintance of mine suggest I go see Dave immediately, as he attended one of the best barber schools in the country. Upon seeing him, Dave had no problem making the haircut look exactly how I wanted. Since then, I only go to Furman Barber Shop, because I won’t settle for anything but the best. And that’s precisely what Dave provides. Not only that, I find Dave to be one of the most upstanding men I know. And it’s his attention to detail that makes Furman Barber Shop the top-ranked barber shop in Greenville.

Walking through the doors of Furman Barber Shop is like stepping back in time—a much better time. The shop itself is clean and quaint. Dave, the barber, is a refreshing human being with a unique personality,. The room might be full of people but he will take his time with you and make you feel as if you’re the only person there. There are little trinkets around the shop, evidence of Dave’s latest hobbies. The man loves his wife and family. And he’s excellent with the scissors! If he can make my head look good, he can make anybody’s head look good. Stopping by that magical place is strangely therapeutic and when I leave, I can’t wait for my hair to grow back so that I can return. One more thing: as there are no appointments but only walkins, a man might have to wait for a moment. Don’t stop by if you’re in a hurry but certainly if you want to relax and have a good time. Sneak in a mini bottle or two, like I do, and enjoy yourself. And make sure you give Dave a good tip because he deserves it.

I was a walk-in after spotting the shop the other day. I was treated very courteously, and received probably the best haircut Ive had through a multi-year search of about 20 barbers, after my old barber retired. I also like that, as of this writing, the shop is opened until 3pm on Saturdays, something that used to be commonplace, but has become very rare at classic barbershops. The price was good, and didnt cost a fortune like many of the upgraded classic barbershops charge. Definitely a barbershop to which Id return. Note that it is a walk-in only shop, no appointments, and youll need cash, not card.

This man is amazing. Has been cutting my hair since I was 13 years old. Thats 16 years. I drive all the way from highway 14 to see Mr. Teeter because no one cuts it like him. Definitely not any of those generic barbershops. Hell have my business as long as hes around. Gave me a great guy to pressure washer my house also!

Dave and Brandon have been cutting my hair since I moved here in 2008. Always a good haircut and always good conversation.I have gone other places on emergency, several times when I forget these guys are closed on Mondays). Every time, I have come back to the Furman Barber Shop because it is better. Period, no ifs ands or buts.Patrons will immediately notice (If they pay attention) that Dave and Brandon are very familiar with the other patrons, This shows that people come back -- because they get good haircuts and enjoy being there.

Nice little barber shop in the Cherrydale/Furman/San Souci area that I decided to give a try. Barber has been around a while and can cut all kinds of styles. Not as pricy as the hipster barbershops around or as cheap as the franchise places either. Better cut in my opinion than both. He doesn’t take appointments so just drop by when convenient. Knowledgeable about styles that are in and also good with beards. I will def come back for my next cut.

As I recently moving to Greenville from Columbia, I needed to find a decent barbershop. As I pass this place every day going to work I thought Id give it a shot.Very bad idea.Are haircuts supposed to hurt? This one did, with every clip. On top of that, the barber begin to insult me!! Let me explain. Whenever you go to a barber shop there is a certain amount of small talk that is expected, like, what do you do for a living. I told the barber that I am a business owner that just moved to the Greenville area. And with that he launched into a diatribe that lasted for the remainder of my haircut. Bashing every kind of business owner that he could think of. To listen to this guy speak, just because I own a business I was the scum of the earth sitting theyre dirtying up his barber chair!! The real funny thing is, hes the one who owns the barber shop. tragically ironicOh, and the hair cut itself, I had to go get it fixed by some one else. Terrible.I would not go back for nothing

I have had a really great haircut when it was a trim, but when I actually needed a haircut, it was cut way too short and did not look good.

Two reasons: First, any barber who knows what whitewalls are, let alone how to do them properly, gets my vote; and second, any barber who knows how to freehand trimming a beard is an artist!
