It was my first time to visit a Pugh’s Service Center, as a customer. I am very familiar with the automotive businesses and sometimes my expectations maybe a little too high. Well I must say my expectations were exceeded! Although I had a fair light visit, I had the chance to listen and observe a few other customers during there visit. I was very impressed with the entire operation of this “service” department they professionally provided 1st class service. Polite, accommodating and patient with each customer I saw . My experience as you can tell was superb and my impression of the staff with other seemed to be the same. Facilities were fresh and clean ... just top shelf all the way ! I highly recommend Pugh’s for any automotive maintenance or repairs .

Really enjoyed coming here to get my car fixed until today (3/3/2021). Prior to today I was told there was an additional repair that needed to be done and it would take only an hour and a half to put on. Bought it in today and they say they have to order the part (understandable) and it would be before 5 before it was done. My problem isn’t waiting for the car but I called to check on the progress of my car. Guy says on the phone “didn’t you just drop it off” I respond “yes 2 hours ago” whomever was on the phone says “didn’t I tell you it would be later”. My whole point is he didn’t have to be so rude about it. This will be my last time going here. Watch how you talk to customers. I wasn’t rude in calling so I didn’t understand the brashness with just giving an update.

Sales associate Patrick was very patient and very helpful and met my needs fully.

Had a lot of work done to my car to get it back in a drivable state. When they finished, my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am has been driving like its brand new every since! Customer service is excellent and prices reflect the excellent quality of service youll receive.

I used to take my car here for repairs but that changed last year. I will NEVER take my car here again. They constantly lied to me, made nit picking decisions about how to fix my car which ran the price up tremendously, and had VERY poor time management. The technicians didnt care and they didnt give updates as to when my car was ready. When I got mad because I was waiting for 30 minutes which then turned into 3 hours, the manager on duty laughed it off. They put faulty tires on and almost killed my mom and I when we were driving and one of them blew. My dad had the bill in his hand and defended us loudly, but they proceeded to call him a liar. This is the worst business to go to for any inspection, oil change, or repair! I laugh when I see the commercials on tv that say Choose Pughs. Yeah, Ill choose Pughs if I want to be overcharged, lied to, or treated horribly.

Amazing experience. Bought a set of 4 tires. Had a definite schedule I HAD to stick to. They got me in and out in my allotted time. Great job!

Excellent customer service. Excellent quality. As a graduate student new to Greenville, I cannot adequately express what a relief it was to discover this location and to have a local car service center that I could trust. Robby and Jim (manager) are fair, equitable, polite, and sincere without fail. They were tremendously helpful with a complex request when I first moved to town, and have provided easy, breezy routine services over my years here. I have never actually enjoyed routine car maintenance so much, as Im always sure to enjoy a pleasant conversation and history lesson from Robby at the front desk while my car is serviced in a timely manner. I always recommend them to others and have written posts to my graduate department to encourage other students to take their business to Pughs on Memorial. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

3 hr wait

Over all a good place to buy tires, but my last two visits the service was not as good.

I unfortunately had a flat tire. Called around and this shop had the best price. The shop attendants were helpful. They were pretty quick in getting my car back and out. Put my spare back in the trunk and everything the way it was supposed to be. I would def return to this shop

Im giving this business two stars for one reason and one reason only...their employee Daniel. He was very rude and temperamental. I had called two days before I took my vehicle and explained what I needed done. I was told by Daniel I would have to pay a certain price and when I asked again to make sure I heard him right the FIRST time, he told me the same price as the first time I asked. He reassured me that I would be paying the price he told me TWICE over the phone. When I went in to have him fix it, I waited over two hours for two small parts to be changed. THEN the ORIGINAL price I was quoted TWO days prior, went up $110. When I confronted him to talk about the situation, he not only raised his voice at me, but also got in my face and was very rude. Thats NOT how you handle and situation with any client. THEN, to get in my car and PEEL OUT of the spot...no way dude. As a female, I did not feel comfortable at all with a man yelling at me because he gave me the wrong quote two days prior. IF I was to ever GO BACK, I would definitely make sure that he DID NOT work on my car. Other than that, the other workers are very friendly and even helped me out with knocking a few bucks off my total.

Outstanding! I had brought my vehicle to be inspected and they had done everything they could do but my car does not have common parts and typically would have to go to a dealer to get worked on but Robert was honest in letting me know this and had recommended someone he knew well to assist me and they did just that, repairs were quick, inexpensive and fast. Passed inspection. I can recommend this company based on that kind of service anytime. Thank You!

Called ahead of time to make sure they offered the service I needed and to get an estimate in the time i needed. This was in the morning so it wasnt busy. The staff was cool, and my car was in and out within the time frame they gave me. Ill probably come back

On short notice they were able to fit me into their busy day and actually fix the issues as I know what I was talking about in a shorter timeframe this specified by the mechanic

I got the sense that they didn’t want to fix my car because it was a complicated and time consuming repair. I waited 2 hours for diagnostics and got a minimal explanation of what was wrong and that it would take 6-7 hours to repair and it was too late in the day to start it, which is understandable. But there was no offer to help me first thing tomorrow or a “let’s see when we can fit you in”, they couldn’t even give me a quote (they said they would call me with a quote but I doubt I’ll ever hear from them). Since they expressed no interest in doing my repair, just charging me $70 to run diagnostics, I will take my business elsewhere.

Let me tell you. These guys have been my heros. In the past month, my tires were slashed and had to have a new starter put on my car. Both times Pughs was able to get me a tow. Btw thanks G-Vegas for your help both times.

This is the worst worst worst place to go. I got a flat right in front of their shop on my way to work. They charged me 250 dollars and told me it would be an hour and a half. I am a technician and I told them I had an eight to ten job. They told me it would be an hour to get it In the shop. Knowing that I was calling my customer and telling them I would be there in two hours, he did not tell me that I would take two hours of no one but me looking at my work van hung up in their shop while no one that worked there even looked at it. I was there three hours and late to work, not to mention I lied to my boss about when I would be there. It only took six minutes to put the tires on. The old man running the office had the worst customer service ever. If they would have said you wont make your time frame for your job I could have got someone else to go there for me but they couldnt give me the respect of an honest ETA. Never go here

Pughs has been where I get all of my car work done for years and when we needed brakes for our new Jaguar xf we went to Pughs. Pughs found that the brakes would have to be ordered and we would have to return when the brakes came in. Great! No problem. Brakes came in and the brakes were being installed but a small part on the brakes was broken. Pughs didnt want us to ride on suspect brakes, so they rented me a car and told me it would be Tuesday before they would get the part in. When Tuesday came the brakes where fixed and the only thing I paid was for my brakes being repaired. Pughs went out of their way to make sure a loyal customer was satisfied and happy. AMAZING. The customer service was fantastic and they had me out of there in less than 30 mins. I needed a tire patched and a couple places would only try to sell me a new tire. They patched it, no questions asked. I just moved to Greenville so I’ll definitely be back.

Pughs Tire Service has the best quality service without a doubt in Greenville, NC. I have chosen Pughs since I was sixteen and have never had a single complaint about the customer service or the quality of service on my vehicles. I recently had a set of tires put on my car; the price was excellent and the most reasonable quote I was able to get around town. I will always go to Pughs when I need work done on my car.

I am a long time customer of Pughs, and have always found their customer service to be top notch and their automotive services to be reasonably priced.

I have 4 different vehicles serviced at Pughs both foreign and domestic car and truck. They fix what needs fixing and Dont fix what doesnt need fixing. If it aint broke they dont fix it, and i like that. They do however point out items that need attention but leave it up to me to make the decision on repair.Good folks and good service.

I called about services to get an estimate and asked what day I could come and verified they had a courtesy shuttle. When I went in, they said the shuttle was unavailable. (This threw a wrench in my plans and the staff acted as it was an inconvenience for me asking.) I was told it would be a few hours, so I paid for a Lyft. When I returned (again at my own expense) I wasnt given the ticket to review but simply a price. I paid it and then saw on my ticket a $7.95 shop charge/fee. When I asked what it was, I was told that it was for environmental fees for oil and tires. When I explained that I had headlights replaced and brought in my own bulbs, Roberts story changed to the fee covered extra parts in case the techs break a pin or something. I was told that they would refund the fee but it was never done, even after leaving a couple messages for the manager. Funny how they give you the labor cost and add a fee to every ticket, regardless of the work done. Seems like a logical way to pad their profits and take extra money from unknowing customers. Not the ethical place of business they claim to be!

Went in at 8 am for tire change & alignment. Got my truck back around 11 and my truck was pulling pretty bad. Took it back a few mins after getting it, and they worked as hard as they could to get the problem fixed. Was there until 2:30pm. With the long wait, they had amazing service! Bought me & my two year old lunch and brought it to us as well as gave me a free oil change coupon as I was walking out the door. Couldnt be happier with how hard they worked to resolve the issue along with trying to make it much more comfortable and a better experience given the circumstances!!!

I bought 4 new tires at Pughs in August of 2011, they sent me a reminder to have them rotated in February of this year, which I did, and they also installed a headlight in my Honda for me (which is a nightmare to do if you attempt to do it yourself) and hardly charged me anything. I am completely happy with them, and will contiue to use them. They are friendly, prompt, and are a 5 star service facility in my eyes.

Have bought several sets of tires and had other minor service work done here over the years. Always good service.

I had a tire replaced and all rotated. Somehow they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one wheel. Needless to say I got lucky had the problem corrected just before the tire would have fallen off. Two of the studs had broken off and the three lug nuts still on werent even had tight. I normally do all the maintenance on my car for reasons like this. You cant trust someone else to do something as simple as tighten lug nuts and risk my life.

Ive been going to Pughs for a long time and take all my vehicles there. That just changed today. Dropped my car off last night Ike they asked. Left my key somewhere around the car so they could get in it. Was not happy about that, the guy said that they were in the middle of remodeling so they didnt have a drop box. First lie right there. Dropped my car off. Called them at 7:30 am and told them where the key was, was told they would get right on it. 2nd lie there. Waiting all day. Called them at 3, was told by Daniel in the shop( who acted like I was bothering him) that my car was next in line. Im irritated by this point. I knew by this point they were going to call me in an hour and tell me they couldnt find the issue. 45 mins later Daniel calls and said... Wait for it... They cant find the issue but my inspection is done and my car is ready for pick up. Im mad by this point and is trying to find out why it sat there all day just to have them get to it and have it done in 45 mins. Daniel tells me that they were backed up and that they were trying to get to cars from last Friday, another lie. I asked why I wasnt notified about a waiting list and he said that its the customers responsibility to inform the service department when they want to pick up their car, that waiting is already implied. Im pissed at this point. Told him I just wanted to pay my bill over the phone and never come back there. When I explained everything to the sales guy, he didnt know that they were backed up and tried to make an excuse for the technicians behavior. Oh he just had a baby and was gone for a week, so hes trying to catch up.Another lie!!Do not take your vehicle to this Pughs store. Ive heard lots of complaints about the service at this store but never had an issue till today. Will not be going back, ever.

I called and got prices on tires and service work at 2 other places in Greenville then called Pughs and they beat the other prices and saved me like $200. I have really enjoyed these tires so far.

I had my two front tires replaced with new ones only to find out they were put on incorrectly. They are directional tires and they were put on going the wrong direction. And as a tire place i would have assumed they would and should have told me my back tires have dry rot, which they didnt....so at any moment my tires could blow. I will never go back there again!!!

I took my Mercedes in for an oil change and an alignment. I was told that it will be 2 hours and then I received a call and told me that they couldnt get to it today and that I have to leave it for the next day and will work on it first thing in the morning. When I finally went to go pick up the car the next day they told me that they dont have the right tools to get the job done. When I got in my car I realized that my interior was dirty and all these black spots on it from most likely getting in and out the cars with dirty hands. I will never go back

Everytime I have gone to Pughs I have gotten amazing service. Ive been in Greenville my whole life, and been to quite a bit of stores, and no other shop has even came close to comparing to the exquisite customer service, work ethic, service and bubbliness of the workers.

I am 64 years old and operate a repair shop in Wake Forest, NC. Last Thursday I was contacted by a long time customer with a grandaughter at UNCG. The car she was using wouldnt spin to start. After consulting a friend in Greenville my customer had his grandaughter send the car by 3A to Pughs on South Memorial Dr. She was told that the ignition switch (electric part) was bad and the part would arrive Monday. My customer called and asked me if the estimate sounded correct and if I would look into it for him. After 4 calls to different branches I found the car ant talked to Daniel that described his diagnosis, then called Sammy (had found previously but he didnt know where the car was) and discussed some misgivings about the diagnosis. He thanked me and promised to check on it. On Tuesday my customer called again. He had talked to Sammy twice or more and Sammy admitted he hadnt checked on the car. The store that had it had received the car had tried the ignition switch and said it still wouldnt start, at some point someone there made a lowball offer to buy it. The car was towed to me in Wake Forest after a bill of $100 was paid to release it. The interior was taken apart to access the switch and left that way- I checked for power to the switch-OK, remounted the switch and tested it for start power-OK, went to the starter and had power from the switch. The starter was completely dead. My customer is now out a long 3A tow, $100 for sloppy diagnosis, my labor to reassemble the interior, and possibly the expensive ignition switch assembly unless I can repair damage to the portion that connects to the shift interlock cable. After a short conversation with Sammy this morning he offered me no regrets and didnt even seem inclined to return my customers $100. Sincerely, Dan Lamson
