Had a reservation to pick up a full size sedan on 08/20/2021 and all I needed to pick up the car was a valid driver’s license and a credit card. To my surprise, I was being asked of a passport as a second identification of which I asked both ladies since when was that instituted and they said 2-3 months ago. I even showed them a scanned copy of my passport but they still refused me the car. I have called customer service and been told there is no policy to show a passport as a second identification. Is West Gate City boulevard Buget-rent-a car in Greensboro different from the general policy of requiring a valid drivers license and a credit card? I don’t know what kind of discriminatory attitude that was but it should be investigated coz its not good for business.

It used to be a A+ car rental place until another person started working there their ratings went down quickly. Started putting people in unsafe vehicles. Dont check the cars dont clean the cars and he also has a nonchalant attitude since he started working there he has been promoting bad business. It just needs to go back to the three that was already there. Heres some photos and a video. Be aware of the Chevy equinox its white. The car has several issues theyre not going to tell you that the car has the issues but it does I rented the car and had to take it back the next day because of the issues. Dont let them give you the red for Eco sport car either same problem check engine light came on theres a loud chicken in the engine and the two front tires of the car is also messed up.as our returning the car that they gave me another customer came in saying the same thing that the car that they rented had the same issues with the tires and the engine be careful and be aware of the cars you rent from budget rental car.is that that you go to the airport and not the location.

Lazy workers. Claimed I needed to vacuum the car or pay $50 clean up fee. The car was not dirty, maybe had 5 of my gf long hairs on upholstery. I will not return here again

Pricey, not a big variety and the deposit went up by 100$ for 1 extra day. I thinks not. I drove my own car

They never have anyone to answer your calls here at this lot before wasting time going to see if anything is available. Automated voice system is terrible. Go in person...but know sometimes theres nothing to be rented.

The staff is very unprofessional and rude. My reservation was at 10:30 and I showed up just before 11:30 to find they gave away my SUV reservation. She said Too bad your late, do you want a 15 passenger van? Really?

Really good experience. I rented a car while my was in the shop. Needed it longer and had no hassles. Everyone was helpful w/ the exception of the guy that originally signed the car out, forgot to note it came w/ half a tank of gas. However, the guy checking me out was knowledgeable and did the math, noting the car was given to me as such. Good experience & would definitely rent from them in the future!

Never again. Paid for full size SUV, and from the parking lot had to drive straight into the repair shop across the street.

With all this COVID-19 going on i must say they do a great job disinfecting the vehicles. The staff is friendly and the service is great.

Mortifying how unprofessional this establishment is. Made a reservation for a car at 10 and was told that they didn’t have any available until 11. I asked when if they for sure was going to have a car available at 11. I was told yes and so I went home and returned at 11. ONLY to be told they had no cars available. I even received a confirmation email that the car was on the way!! Common sense for any business is that you are professional and do all you can to help a PAYING client. We were told there’s nothing they can do because they can’t control when cars are returned. What if it just so happened that we were stranded at that location and didn’t have a car at all?? After this MAJOR inconvenience I have decided to take my business elsewhere and I suggest y’all do the same. No point in wasting your time at an establishment that doesn’t take a reservation seriously. I hope my disappointment is felt by anyone reading this review so much so that you are disgusted by the thought of placing your money into a business like this.

Their trucks are affordable. I had my truck for 2 days moving out of town and I just dropped it off in the town I was moving to it cost me $109 irs that great. I was so happy. Someone had given me a 15% discount coupon I used that. They were nice when I went to pick the truck up.

I would Never reccomend budget. I took a chance on their terrible reviews and paid the price. Made reservation July 10 for my trip on October 17. Recieved confirming email October 15th we are good to go for pick up.... cool. I receive a call 2 hrs before I supposed to pick up my reservation stating they had no cars for me. Are you serious? What was the point of making a reservation months in advance if you werent goi g to actually hold the reservation? Customer service was terrible. The lady was uncaring and un bothered that her company has now caused me a huge inconvenience hours before I was to leave town and now desperately trying to find another means of travel. Never again. If you have other choices I would go with anyone else before budget.

Only 2 stars because the car they gave me didnt break down, thankfully. I had asked for a full size auto, but got an old jeep instead. The employees are barely awake - they cleaned the vehicle when I had arrived and not beforehand, so that was an unnecessary wait, especially when I had booked the rental two days before. They explained nothing about the vehicle, seemed completely apathetic to what I had asked for, and because I didnt have the time to fight and argue and because quite frankly, I dont think they wouldve been able to assist me anyway, I drove off in the vehicle I didnt ask for. The service here is pretty low. I will have to choose a competitor next time, and unfortunately, this was the last time I chose Budget for any help.

I Had a reservation to pick up a car at this location when I flew into North Carolina. When I went to pick up the car in the middle of the day during working hours at the time indicated on my reservation, the location was closed with no sign indicating when it would reopen. The Budget customer service told me there was nothing they could do and to go to another location where I had to pay more for the car I had reserved months in advance. There is one star here only because the review would not post if I gave the zero star rating I feel is appropriate.

The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Unfortunately I had to stop by more than once and on several occasions they were on speaker phone with other customers who they were giving equally horrible customer service to, very unprofessional and rude. Long story short if you want to use Budget save yourself time and go to the airport location.

On May 15, 2018 I rented a car at the Raleigh airport. I was quite a few miles away, on my way to Elon and then to Greensboro and driving a Nissan Rogue on the interstate when I noticed a loud noise whenever I braked. I ended up pulling over and calling Budget. I told them I wasn’t comfortable keeping the car and wanted to exchange it when I got into town but by the time I arrived, the office was closed. So the next morning I headed over, with some reservation, because I had read all the reviews. An older black gentleman waited on me. He was the nicest and most caring individual. He told me I needed to fill the tank first, and directed me on which stations were the closest and told me he’d have a replacement ready for me when I returned. I was back within 10-15 minutes and there was a Mazda SUV waiting for me. I just had to sign some paperwork and I was on my way. A big thank-you to Gary and Jalissa (the other person working that day). They couldn’t have been nicer.

Ghetto experience. There was a woman outside yelling and cursing about a car. Staff didnt greet and acted like they were being bothered.

Easy process

No One answers the phone at counter, and when you think they do they hang up. On top of that owner and staff are absolutely very unprofessional, if youre new to them they treat you like a minority. Good luck with their customer service its horrible!! I would give 0 stars if it was possible but please do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere or even enterprise because the owner and staff DO NOT help at all. I cant believe people like them even run a business when they dont even have manners, such improper behavior, disrespectful and unhelpful!! Stay away if possible!!! Also the restroom has an OUT OF ORDER SIGN its been there for a while, Im sure they just do it to not clean the restroom, just stay away people there including the owner himself dont try to help you out, even if you have questions just dont.

Not normally a review type of person. I have also never had a problem with this location until now, except previously never answering the phone. I watched one of the ladies working there unplug the phone and the other laugh about it on a FRIDAY of all days while i was dropping off. We have spent $1000s renting from this location because we have a small business and we travel alot. We were charged a fee of $50 for cleaning because they had to vacuum more then usual. Rentals are vacuumed, windows cleaned, car washed before the next pick up so 10-15 extra minutes of vacuuming(if thats even what it took), I wouldnt think merit an extra charge! Budget has great prices and deals...just go to another location!

The worst car rental place I’ve ever seen. I went in to get a car. They gave me a car and told me that the car came with a full tank of gas. By the time I started the engine, the gas was only a quarter full. But I took the picture of the dash board. I called their attention and they apologized. But when I went to return my car two days after, a lady was there dropping off her rental car and the same guy that dealt with me the first day, was telling the lady that, when she took the car that it was with a full tank. Please check your gas before you take the car from there and if possible, please take the picture with your phone.

Worst Customer Service EVER! Employees literally cursed me out &’ told me that I Could take my business else where! They also forced my mom to go to the gas station 4x before letting her return the moving truck...even though it was already FULL! I don’t recommend getting cars from this location at all! Very very poor customer service!

I will never do personal or business as this location EVER again. We had minvans reserved for 3 months for a wedding but when we arrived, no van available and it was reserved for 9am. Very rude customer service rep and manager which only offered a suggestion that the vans would be in by 12 noon. So I drive home, 20 min away and was advised I would be called when the vans arrived. 1230 comes around and no call so I called the location, only for them to tell me that they still have not received a van and offered no additional assistance. I was told by the MANAGER to contact the Avis customer service line for any complaints/rental adjustments due their breach of contract. Long story short, Avis/Budget location never called me back and they still dont know if I received another rental vehicle or not. This independent location is the worst and makes it difficult to support smaller locations as such due to the lack of customer satisfaction and management.

This place gave me the wrong sized truck that I reserved and then dont answer their phone when you call them. Totally unacceptable

Convenient location for picking up & dropping off a rental car.

We had prepaid for our rental weeks ahead of time. The day before we are to leave they call us after the store had closed to tell us they didnt have said vehicle. We went to talk to them the morning we were to pick up. There would 6 of us plus all to our stuff and a wheelchair. They tried to put us in a small 3rd row suv with no cargo space. It was not going to work for us. Fortunately a large suv came in and showing great customer service they rented it to us for the same price. While we were upset initially, they solved our problem quickly

This is the worse place ever for customer service!!! I had mad a reservation online to rent a car for my 70 year old mother and sister that broke down coming to NC for my mothers sisters funeral!! When we went to pick up the car, my sister realized she had left her license in Ohio. She was able to get a picture of it but the girl would not accept it unless it was faxed. When we asked her what the difference was if I walk next door and fax this copy or I hand it to you, she states I dont have to explain it to you We tried to explain the situation to the girl about my mom just burying her sister and her comment was I dont care, not my problem. Then when I went next door to fax the copy of my sister license I had in my hand and she received the fax copy (since the picture we not legible) she tossed it across the counter at me and said this is ridiculous, what do you expect me to do with this I said here is the original and cant you compare? She could care less, she held up her hand with two fingers bout an inch apart and states Im this far from not renting you a car At one point she was texting on phone instead of helping us. We have NEVER in my LIFE been treated so rudely!!! Then when I asked her name and since my mom was the one that ended up putting the car in her name and after third time me asking her - she stated your NOT my customer and I dont have to answer you!! So my mom asked her name and so you know her name is ASHLEY!!! Let me tell you the ONLY reason we stayed and rented the car from her was as I watched my mom have tears in her eyes shaking stated I just want to rent car and leave. I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE RENT ANOTHER CAR FROM BUDGET RENTAL AND I WILL MAKE SURE HOW EVERYONE KNOWS HOW YOU TREAT A 70 YEAR OLD LADY WHEN SHE JUST BURIED HER SISTER 2 HOURS PRIOR TO THIS VISIT!!!! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left she was the rudest person I have ever dealt with!!! Couldnt believe there was no Manager to speak with - so since she did not want to give that information I figured the will just tell everyone how they treat their customers!!! EVERY DAY EVERY PERSON I TALK TO WILL HER ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE!!! Only reason I put one star is because I could not put in NO STARS!!!

ZERO STARS.........Doing credit checks to rent a darn car is stupid. Dont take a reservation with out doing one. Parking lot small and no room to make safe maneuvers. You guys couldnt even open up on time. Will not recommend you to nobody

Buget car rentals aint s*** do to the fact they will take your money off your debit card then when u go to pick up the vehicle they wont use the same card to allow you to complete the transaction. Really! They aint s*** now after I get a major banks debit card now they want a credit score of 625 or better . Really so unless u r a middle class black with a major credit card then dont go to budget car rental

Its OK. Rental was really nice but they charge $15 for a processing fee for a toll that was $1.75. so I wont be renting from them anymore. With Enterprise the price of the toll is included with the rental up to $20.

Will never do business with the place ever. Bad customer service. They did not have a truck that I had reserved for 3 weeks. Extremely rude managers who displayed no responsibility for the mistake. Kept saying that it was not his fault, but never offered to do anything about it. Just told me that he would not talk to me anymore. Do not do business with these people!!!!!

Easy rentals good prices depending on theseason and food vehicles too

I usually go to UHAUL to rent my moving trucks but I decided to go with BUDGET this time because they were a little cheaper. I made my reservation online to pick up my vehicle at the W gate city location. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle I was informed that the vehicle was actually in Winston and I would have to drive all the way to Winston to pick it up. The next day when I tried to return the vehicle I was notified that I would have to fill the tank up past the F line for Full. After taking the vehicle to the gas station and filling the tank the battery died. When I went next door to notify the associates they were extremely rude and unhelpful, especially Ashley. Ashley was extremely dismissive and pretty much told me that it was my problem. Finally, when I tried to call HR to let them know about the difficulties I encountered, I was told there system was down and would be down for the next 30 mins . I have never worked with a more unorganized, rude, dismissive company in my life!!! Trust me, pay the extra money and go to UHAUL!!!!

I had a one way truck rental placed my reservation 3 days prior to getting there to pick up. When I get there to pick it up they don’t have any trucks there!!!!!! They send me to the High Point location!!!! 2 hours later still don’t have a truck! I will never rent from Budget again!

Horrible experience, Would have given zero stars if possible, had booked online for a full size car, went to pick up the car (had to take uber) but was told that there were no cars, for which I requested to provide any cars available for which the manager said that she cannot poop out cars. Was very rude and condescending, even her colleague seemed shocked by her behavior. Stated that I had to wait two more hours (Even then no guarantees). Would never ever book car from this location.

Drove 3 hours to rent a reserved car only to be told no cc no rental ...that was information that should have been told in the reservation agreement in order for people to NOT TRAVEL 3 hrs for disappointment
