When we first started getting bids to reside our house, Weatherhead & Sons was not the cheapest bid we received and for good reason - they dont do cheap work. We knew the investment of hardy board siding in our forever home was long term. Weatherhead & Sons had the experience and attention to detail needed to do the project the right way. We ended up redoing our roof at the same time. The consultative approach Weatherhead & Sons provided not only gave us confidence in our investment, but also addressed some long standing issues of ice damming and water drainage. At one point in the project there was a concern with the scope of work. I respected the way Andy Weatherhead addressed it and put my concerns as a priority. Will Weatherhead came out and inspected our roof and confirmed what we already knew, a new roof was needed. I received multiple bids and decided to go with Weatherhead and Sons because of their long track record and excellent reviews. Our particular roof has an odd trough which requires some special attention, and the owner, Andy, reached out to me to discuss the particulars of how they would handle it. The crew arrived in the morning, tore the roof off, replaced it and cleaned up (leaving little debris) and were gone in one day. Will came out the next day and cleaned up what was left - which was only a bit that was under the dumpster that had been removed from the driveway. Very professional, very helpful, I highly recommend.

We replaced our homes roof in November 2020 and we were very pleased with the entire process. We had a new roof installed by Weatherhead and sons. After getting 5 estimates, Weatherhead came in the least expensive, by quite a bit.The crew that did the work was very good and total experts and very hard workers. I was originally told the job would take a day and maybe a few hours the next day. It took almost 3 days and Im satisfied that they did it the way I wanted, replacing a lot of wood as it was needed, not just rushing through the job.We also had the soffits and fascia replaced by a very expert crew. They pushed the insulation back making an opening for air-flow. Hopefully we wont have ice dam buildup like weve always had in the past.After the metal job was finished, we had new gutters installed. I requested the gutters as soon as possible because of possible basement flooding without them. Andy contacted his installers and they came the next day, and took about 2 ½ hours to complete the job. He said he had a lot of jobs in front of mine but he put me at the top of the list! I really did appreciate that.We are very pleased with the job done at our house by Weatherhead and Sons. I feel they did everything they said they were going to do and more. Its has given our house new life. Thank you.

Had a new roof and gutters put on as well as some storm windows added to one side of our home. I am definitely pleased with the quality of the materials and work done. The only complaint I had was that sometimes they were lacking in communicating what was going on and when, but that seems pretty typical for this industry. We had 3 companies come out for an estimate and they were the only ones who took a look in the attic to figure out the extent of our problem. Weatherhead & Sons replaced my roof and did an excellent job. They did everything they said they would do, in a very professional manner. They got it done in the amount of time they said it would take. There were no surprises when I got the final bill. Also, it was very easy to communicate will all of the workers. Bryan and his assistant did a nice job on a project where we were wrapping the soffits and eaves with metal. They seemed to do a fair amount of wood repair to existing which was nice. They also were able to keep almost all of the scrap materials contained and there was not a lot of waste in the yard. One complaint was that we had some wires that went from the second floor to the basement that werent tacked back to the house when they were done, but I can get the ladder out and use some staples and tack those back up. Overall we are satisfied with the work and the look is now very much an improvement over the peeling paint that we previously there.

Weatherhead installed my roof about 8 years ago... Heritage Hill house in Grand Rapids. Excellent work and still looks great. Garage roof developed an unusual leak this year and I could not figure out what was causing it. I called them. Andy and Ryan came and quickly found and fixed the issue - a hole had developed around an old nail. Great service.

I have been a Weatherhead and Sons customer for many years. The company has completed many projects, large and small, for me around my house. The most recent was the installation of a new roof last summer. I give them the highest possible rating in all aspects of job satisfaction. Despite friendly stafff and what appears to be quality work (time will tell) its unfortunate that I can only give Weatherhead and Sons a mixed review. The reason: poor communication.After meeting with the estimator I was told Id have an estimate in a day or two. They also mentioned they were scheduling work 12 weeks out, so I was glad to hear Id have an estimate quickly so I could get the work scheduled. Two weeks later and still without an estimate, I contact the company. When I finally received the estimate, I quickly reviewed and returned it with my down payment. A week passed without any confirmation of receipt, so I called to confirm they had received my payment and that I was on the schedule. At that time, I also expressed my frustration with the amount of time it took to receive the estimate and the lack of confirmation.Almost 15 weeks since I met with the estimator and 12 weeks since submitting our down payment, I hadnt heard from Weatherhead, so I called to inquire about the repair. I was told Im on the board, but nothing more. Once again, I mentioned my frustration with the lack of communication.One week later I received a call from Weatherhead saying that theyd be out the following day to complete the work. While less than a days notice was not ideal, at the time I was just happy to see the work would get done before winter.The work completed seems to be quality work and workers were friendly and professional, but with a poor track record of communication with customers Im not sure Ill be considering Weatherhead and Sons for future work.

I contacted 3 different places to get a quote for my porch roof and gutters to be redone. Andy personally came out and spoke to me, looked at my roof, and gave me not only the best quote, but the best service. He gave me a reasonable estimate on when they would be out and someone called me the day before. Andys workers went over and above. They did amazing work and were extremely friendly. They even replaced a gutter they didnt need to because they thought it would have looked terrable and they didnt charge more. When I had questions after the job was complete, Andy personally came out again to talk to me and personally deliver the invoice. I would highly recommend using Weatherhead & Sons. Their work ethic is amazing and their price is perfect for the quality of work.

I recently just bought a new home and discovered that I had a leaky roof after the first few storms. I made many calls to many roofing companies in Grand Rapids to request quotes but Weatherhead and Sons was the only company that actually came out to quote it.They climbed on the roof and checked things out very thoroughly before beginning to quote the project. They sat down with me and laid out the costs line by line including exactly what they make from the project.Due to their current work load, they let me know in advance that it would be 3 to 4 weeks before they could come out which sounded reasonable to me. They made it out in the promised time a crew was there working still when I arrived home from work. In 2 days, everything was done and cleaned up. The workers were very personable and willing to talk and answer questions.There was some slight interior damage from the repairs but they arrived a month later after they were sure the leaking was resolved an fixed the cosmetic issues inside as well. No questions asked. No argument required.I paid about 25% up front and the remainder when the job was completely finished.No complaints. I will keep there information for future roofing/wood work jobs.

But everyone that worked on my home did excellent work. Its been about 2 months since they completed the work on my home and Im still just a pleased today as I was when they finished in December. Of the 4 quotes that I received theirs was the lowest. You probably will need to pick up the nails left each time they work, so dont rely on their version of a clean up but I would rather pick up the nails and save thousands of dollars for an A plus job then have somebody else do the work. The gentleman who came out to give us a quote was so professional and friendly. They quoted us a very fair price (compared with other roofing companies around) and seemed incredibly knowledgeable about all things roofing.

So I was quoted 5000 and 2000 by different companies in grand rapids to fix the leak in my closet. Bryce at Weatherhead & Sons simply purposed a different approach that could fix the problem for 150 dollars!!!! We have mixed feelings about this company, as the whole experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. Initially, Brice came to do the estimate (which was 1/3 of the price from a different company) and we were thrilled with his expertise & affordability. Things went downhill from there…severe lack of communication and professional customer service! This was very surprising to us as they seem to be a reputable company. The thing is, the glitches in communication and customer service can and should easily be improved, hence my straight-forward comments. They do too good of work to disappoint customers due to something so fixable! Perhaps we just didn’t know what to expect, but a little communication goes a long way!

Just recently moved into a new house that needed the roof replaced badly. Bryce from Weatherhead & Sons did the qoute and when their crew of six came out they did an amazing job. I really wish I could give Weatherhead and Sons a higher score. The roof/gutters/soffit were installed well and the crews were pleasant. The issue is with site clean up. After the roof was installed I found hundreds of nails in the grass, plant beds, walks and drive. I am still picking up debris. After the snow melted I found dead areas in the planting areas (pacasandra sp?) where they put ladders and piled the removed roof. The gutter and soffit crew were the same-nice work and nice guys just bad clean up/follow up...I ended up with a flat tire and am still finding aluminum nails and soffit debris around the house. It is true that they did the soffit and gutters during snow/ cold but could have made a point to come back and clean up... disappointed.
