So much equipment and way less expensive than other gyms even for the best membership they have. Very clean and sanitary. They have cleaning stations all over to wipe down machines after every use and the staff are very nice and will help you out with anything, including how to use machines. Overall Highly recommend.

Clean, well maintained. Good amount of cardio equipment, but like any planet fitness the weights are limited. Dumbbells go to 75 which is nice, but there are no mirrors in front of smith machines and only one wall of them in the gym.

Place was nice and clean. Only one staff member working so did cause a bit of a wait. Sanitizing material was easily available to wipe down and clean machines.

Very nice. I took a tour of the place and very happily signed up.

Great location came into town from Atlanta for family emergency. I have LA fitness but no location in Grand Rapids. Farina was so nice to me and my niece we appreciate her services.

Why don’t you stay open past 7 pm on the weekends?? And why close at 9 on Friday... I’m sure 1 more hour would make people happier with your gym. Also it would be nice if the gym we pay for didn’t change its hours and would stay open later... pretty sure you used to be 24 hour gym.Wouldn’t it just be nice if us customers payed a fixed price for a contract and just changed the details. This gym is kinda bs for charging you the same amount but they get to change their hours. Uhh I want a discounted membership since I’m not getting the full services I signed up for... or maybe you should adjust your operating hours since they aren’t even necessary! Just saves the gym money because all the members or paying a fixed price anyway! We pay the same amount = gym closes earlier, they save money.

This is my home gym and my go to spot to work out since gyms made their come back from COVID. Solid place to go get a lift in.

I had visited this location for the third time as a guest with my girlfriend. The manager was very unprofessional when he informed us of their policy about not allowing 1 gallon water jugs in the gym. Instead of simply giving us a heads up(warning) and letting us continue our workout, he made us stop our treadmills to make sure we put our water jugs in the locker rooms. I’m sure if his bosses came in and saw our dangerous 1 gallon water jugs and he explained to them that he addressed the matter with us everything would have been fine.

This gym is awesome! No judgements, lots of space to work out, 2-3 of each machine so you don’t wait for the one you need. Clean, friendly & helpful staff! There is tanning, light & body treatments, massage chairs and, my fav, water massage beds & loungers.

They make it very hard for you to cancel your membership. They are require you to go in person to cancel your membership during these times... after asking a few more times cancel my membership over the phone they said I could mail in letter with my name and phone number... I don’t understand why I can’t provide that information over the phone... they are very inconsiderate of COVID concerns.

What’s up with closing at 7pm sat sun? We are paying fixed membership fees. Least you can do is extend to 9pm closing.

I cancelled my membership 2 and a half weeks ago and then was charged for the next month and was refused a refund and then today I received the “annual fee” and I don’t even use the gym anymore and haven’t in 3 weeks. So you guys basically just stole not only 40 but 60 dollars from me this makes me livid

When my membership is canceled because you refuse to speak to the club manager, who made a disparaging comment about my American flag mask. And worse, when you speak to upper management and he calls me a lie.I guess not too much of a surprise, coming from a company with a history of discrimination. And in the beginning, I didnt even complain. I just wanted my membership reinstated. I had been an up to date, and active member for over 3 years.

I love this place. They treat me so great. The guy at the front is the coolest.

Frustrating and unprofessional customer service. Would not cancel my account during shutdown, moved an hour away and drove all the way back just to meet in person to cancel.(don’t respond saying I should have sent a letter, I did, and wrote corporate multiple emails to support/ no response)Opening day I was charged annual fee and dues before pandemic, asked if they could be removed and said there’s absolutely nothing they could do. Now a week AFTER I canceled I got charged ANOTHER full month. I called about this issue and they said I needed to cancel 7 days before auto bill and I did 6 days before so there’s nothing they could do. This gym has no values in customer service especially for a member of 4 years. The employee screaming into the phone at me at how she knows all the rules in the agreement and that I’m wrong really proves that. Cool you have fine print, this situation seems shady for all the above reasons.

This gym is very clean and organized.Coming from out of town and being here for the first time I was able to find everything easily and get my workouts complete.

Great clean place, nice people. Actually kind of cozy. Busy, but I’ve never had trouble finding an empty treadmill or another weight machine to use until the one I planned on using was free (this happened only once over a three week period, and I usually go when it’s busy). Always a pleasure and I’m surprised how much I look forward to returning.

We enjoyed their gym but we continue to get charged even after closing our account. Once you sign up, they make it impossible to get out.

Ive been going to this gym location for the past month and I love it. Ive never been a part of a gym for long due to high membership costs but with planet fitness its so easy to join or cancel. The $10 a month comes with a sign up fee of $30 that sometimes gets waived for special holiday times like new years or around Christmas as well as a $40 a year fee. But it is by far the cheapest gym youll find. My only complaint is they do not provide any towels so if you want to shower there, you will need to be bringing home a wet towel. But they have everything you will need, cardio machines, weight machines, dumbells, and a lot of other things. I love the atmosphere and it truly is the most judgment free zone you will find. Ive played a lot of sports and am fairly athletic besides not playing any in the last few years and am a bit out of shape. Theres a people of all shapes sizes and athleticism here. Great place, great staff great cleanliness.

Getting my membership cancelled for violating policy, by a staff member who made a sarcastic comment about my AMERICAN FLAG MASK. Please take time to read this. This is how members can be treated.So, I have been a member of Planet Fitness for around 3 years. I have never violated any policies and have maintained a current, and up to date, paid membership. Except for one month when I switched banks, and had to give new information.Shortly after P.F. re opened from the Covid shut down, the manager at this location was falsely informing members who just out of curiosity, asked what the mask policy was, and how the recent Court ruling effected it. The manager FALSELY continued to tell members, that the requirement to wear masks was still based on an executive order; that the Supreme Court ruling did not matter; that the Governor was appealing the ruling to a higher Court(even though the Court that ruled on the matter, was the State SUPREME Court.)I was wearing my mask, and had no issues doing so, if I also chose to workout at P.F. On my way out, I simply said to her, POLITELY; that she should either refer members to corporate for information, or for sure, not mis inform members. That more than anything, people hate being mis informed. If P.F., like any other private business, wanted to enforce mask wearing, as long as they were not discriminating against anyone, they had the right to do so. and patrons had the right to go there, or not. But that its wrong to tell people the requirement is based on executive order, and that the ruling was being appealed to a higher court and that there was a 21 day grace period. Thats it. That was all I said. AND again, I had no issue wearing my mask when at this facility.In her response, one of the things she sarcastically stated was: your mask doesnt surprise me. Well, so that you know, my mask was simply the American Flag. Yes, the American Flag. And that was the response I got.since that day, when I come in early in the morning to get my workout in, and get to work; I am harassed by this employee ONLY, about my bank account information. Remember, I have been a member for 3 years, and other than 1 month last winter, when I changed banks, I have paid ON TIME, debited out of my account, every month.I have actually had other employees apologize to me about her comment, AND that my membership is ok. I did tell them that they need to remove chemical bank, as my primary account, because I no longer bank there, and of course they are debiting my LMCU account. Which they have ALWAYS done from day one, from which ever account I had.EVERY day she works, she harasses me about this, and it all started when I asked her to be truthful to members including myself, and she made her comment about my mask.Since then, and since being assured by other employees that my account is ok, I have asked her to leave me alone, and that I did not want to speak to her. If there is an issue with my account, I have asked her to have her manager, or regional office call me, but that Id prefer she not speak to me anymore.Well, last week, she cancelled my PAID up to date membership. The reason for cancellation? violation of policy. With no policy listed. How did she sign it? With her name? Nope. She signed it: Manager.Since then, I have called 4 other local facilities asking for a way to contact the regional manager. I have left my name and phone number with each of them; asking them to PLEASE have the regional manager contact me. To date, for a WEEK now, no one has called me. I have also emailed the regional manager, and have not received a response. I have attempted to call the main corporate member relations number, and was on hold for just under 30 minutes. TWICE.This is wrong. And not a way a customer of 3 years, with a current up to date membership should be treated. Just for asking that members be informed correctly and honestly. And most definitely should not have a sarcastic comment made to me, because of my AMERICAN FLAG mask.

Good gym, has all the basics

They helped me on my first day as a member with my own personal workout plan!(EDIT) Dropped from 5 stars to 1They make it incredibly difficult to freeze or cancel your account. I started my account February 2020... COVID happened. I was slammed with fees after fees even when my account was frozen.Long story short... I was scammed out of $100+ for a 1 month membership. NOT COOL!Person on the phone was no help too. Youll have to come in in-person or write us a letter. Also, you are not getting any kind of refund.

Loved how welcoming the staff were here. Signing up was super easy and I really like the lay out of the gym. Would definitely recommend making this your go to spot to workout!

Raven here is just fabulous every time I walk through the door I become elated to witness such a positive, can do attitude along with a smile that would make Angels weep its simply fantastic. 11 out of 10 would recommend to a friend even a friend of a friend to lift a dreary day!

Perfect place to go get in shape for a beginner. There are sooo many treadmills to choose from. I personally love the 30 minute workout room thats designed to get a full 30 minute varied workout in so you have guidance.

Clean and well organized gym. Nice variety of equipment. Comfortable locker rooms. Great monthly price. It can be quite busy, so I plan my workouts around times that are less popular.

You get access to so many amenities for such a great price! I work night shift and I love how well the facilities are maintained at night. Angelica always greets me at the door and is something I look forward to it everytime I visit!

My Daughter was one of the three that there cars were broke into. This happened around 5:00 in the afternoon. The Gr police has been here in the past and nothing seems to be getting done. My advice don’t go there or lock your valuables in the trunk!

I joined a couple of months ago when the Lake Michigan Drive location first opened. I really enjoy all the new equipment and the staff seems friendly. However, I have had a couple horrible experiences. I work at a tanning salon and know how beds should be maintained, these beds are horribly kept and have probably never experienced a total clean. After one session, I noticed a living stink bug underneath one of the acrylics. This should tell you how often they are cleaning their beds. I chose to let it go and not make a big deal about it, but then comes the annual fee. I know that this location is new as are the employees. However, I was never verbally told about this annual fee of $39.99 for the black card membership. When it was pulled from my account and I became aware of it, I immediately called the location to ask what this charge was about. The guy told me that its their fault they never told me about it but theres also nothing they can do which is ridiculous. Now Im stuck wishing I could cancel my membership but not wanting to pay a cancellation fee for an account I never use. Guess I should read the FINE print before signing up with corporations like this who try to rob people of any money they can get from them.

Really friendly staff, really clean and up to date facility. I just got a membership there this past month and I really like it so far. The pricing is so good and the no commitment guarantee is such a relief since Ive heard some horror stories about gyms scamming people out of money when you sign a contract but none of that here. Planet Fitness seems to have the right idea when taking care of their customers.

I love sharing great experiences I encounter at places! I was very excited when they opened this location as it motivates me to go 5 or 6 times a week. I also take a second to read negative reviews as well. As far as the staff, I go in the morning before noon and the staff is great! They always welcome me and are very friendly! As far as equipment I am very satisfied. The tanning. I have one negative and that is the fact that clients cant read. They expect staff to clean beds when there is a sign asking to clean bed before and after. All and all I am happy to be part of the Lake Michigan Dr planet fitness!

Used to be my home gym for years. Now its always so packed you cant use the weights, or 50% of the machines. Staff is nice though.

My friend was rudely asked to leave. She had visited this location in the past with me (as well as other locations) without any hassle, but for some reason the assistant manager working wasn’t able to pull up her information. Instead of courteously apologizing for the inconvenience caused by Planet Fitness the assistant manager chose to tell my friend “you need to leave and wait in your car. You can’t sit here. “ I understand this policy may not have been enforced strictly by others in the past, but staff should be trained to handle these situations with grace and tact. Additionally, the young man working the front desk further invalidated my guests feelings when she expressed that she felt disrespected. I would hope that this never happens again to anyone else.

Is getting crowded

I love the gym, but lately it seems with the new years resolutions coming around its been quite packed. I have trouble getting to use the machines I want to without having to wait or do something else. Not A huge deal, but thought Id mention it. I am a 4 to 5 times/week customer of the gym.

New member and very happy so far. Plenty machines, never have to wait. Nice locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, changing rooms. Always clean. Staff friendly. Massage chairs and hydromassage beds are amazing. Love having that reward after a workout and Im not as sore the next day, so I can go right back and do it all again! Glad I signed up!

I was going to planet fitness while i was working. When I moved to an area that doesnt even have planet fitness, they wouldnt let me cancel my membership until I either paid the rest of the year off or just kept paying the monthly payments. There was no option to cancel it. They refused to tell me this over the phone and made me go in person to the planet fitness where I originally signed up for the account because that was my home store.

I have a black card and honestly only go for tanning and massage booths (hydro massage) i never workout here. With that being said I love the tanning booths. I love the stand up ones the bulbs are always new. They only let you stay in a stand up for 9 minutes though. Clean 99% of the time which is better than most gyms. The staff is friendly, especially because with me I forget to sign in. I just walk right in and they never shout at me. Somehow. They dont. Lol anyways. I cant complain. Tight parking unlike the other PF around GR. Must be cause of the area.

Girlfriend had her car window smashed in along with the car next to her and another car a row over. It was 4:30pm in broad daylight during peak business hours. All 3 cars had their valuables stolen. Went in to tell the staff and they said this has happened plenty of times before. The police officer has talked to the staff plenty of times about installing security cameras and notifying their customers of the problem occurring in their parking lot, but all they have done is put up a small sign for a week saying not to leave valuables in your car and then took it down. It says a lot about management to avoid taking care of their customers and the police officer voiced his complaints about it as well. Take business elsewhere.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. Ive been coming to this location since the start of the year, and Ive been grateful for everything they offer.Everything from threadmills and leg press machines to private stall showers, planet fitness has it all!!!Im not an easy customer to deal with, but these guys know how to do their job professionally, and still make it a fun place to work out.

We love Daija!!! Planet fitness has made my nights full of positivity and progress and getting to talk with daija has made me want to keep coming! Can’t wait to come back and do it again!

Staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. The club manager and assistant manager are very nice and are readily available to help anyone with their concerns. It does get busy during the week, but it doesnt cause too much of an issue.
