We take our 5 yo to sw lessons here and his instructor is so amazing!! She is very patient with the kids who have a tough time, she celebrates successes and talks through opportunities. We will definitely continue taking our kids here for swim lessons!!

It was nice from what my boys and I did. There are two big basketball courts when you come in, a childrens drop off area, the front desk and a small area with tables where you can eat and purchase drinks from MVP.My sons enjoyed the courts and the pool area and locker rooms. There is an outdoor area with 2 slides, lane pool, and a zero depth entry splash pad/pool. There is also a small playground with sand and a large concessions area with plenty of tables. Inside there is a lap pool and and a smaller warm pool used mostly for lessons but there is some open time. There are also. Some family changing rooms right outside the pool area that are good.Upstairs is the workout machines and weights and overlooking the basketball courts are the cardio machines. There are some rooms for classes, mostly upstairs. At the far end of the building are the massive tennis courts area. All thats left to tell about are the locker rooms! Pretty great! There are 2 sauna rooms, a hot tub, swimsuit wringer machine, plenty of lockers, changing rooms, shower stalls, toilets, lotion, shampoo, blow dryers, and a nice comfy area in the front with couches/chairs and a TV. We had a positive experience!

It’s a very nice gym, very clean. The rules for the outdoor pool is just ridiculous, you have to get out of the pool every hour for 5 minutes so that you watch the lifeguards chat!! And my husband was very disappointed because men sit completely naked in the jacuzzi!! Never seen that before!!

MVP has been the cleanest and one of the friendliest gyms I have been a part of. It is surely not a budget option but you do get what you pay for. With excellent indoor courts, a fully stocked weight room, bikes, classes, basketball courts, and a full amenity locker room, it is one of the last gyms you will sign up for. If you can afford it, it is well worth the money.

Great gym to work out in. This MVP has much more equipment and room to work out at rather than the MVP on crahen. Lots to do and even when it is busy you do not feel overwhelmed with people. The staff is always kind and eager to greet you. They also have both outdoor and indoor swimming pools.

Changed their hours from open from 10pm to now only 8pm. Makes it increasingly hard for those who have a job and like to go in the afternoon. Say you get home from work at 6pm, It barely gives you time to go home grab a snack sit down for a second than go to the gym. You have to rush after a long stressful day to get there’.Not to mention they eliminated steam room, sauna, hot tub and basketball. With no specified date of reopening. All for the same monthly price as they had before.Honestly it was a great gym, I do not recommend anyone join for the foreseeable future until they change at least the hours and possibly amenities. I will be moving gyms however due to the fact that every other gym has their steam room and saunas open and is open past 8pm on weekdays.

The music played for the class held on basketball court is incredibly loud. Only 3 pp in tonites class yet the entire facility has to suffer. Management not helpful in this situation. Also the hours of operation can get back to normal any day now.

Was told what the rate and cost for non-members were for tennis lessons. Three weeks into lessons a gentleman at front desk changed the cost, very uncaring and rude. Should have allowed to finish at the rate was told and being charged. Horrible customer service. The trainer/coach on the other hand are great!

I joined MVP for the pool due to my health conditions and needing the therapy pool. I have to say the aquatics staff is amazing! I have not met a guard that hasnt been helpful and extremely nice. They follow the policies that are put into place to keep all of their member safe. I know that there will be some that will say my 4 year wasnt allowed to even put his/her feet in the hot tub! It is policy and if you took the time to read the sign on the wall then you would see it is not just your child but all children under the age of 12. They staff are committed to keeping all of their members safe and for everyone to have an enjoyable experience!Angela who is in charge of all these guards and pools keeps all of it running and does it in such a professional and amazing manner! She runs a tight ship but it shows in the dedication to make the experience of all the members an amazing experience! She has one of the most professional management styles I have seen! She is a great manager!Given the choice again I would not hesitate to join this gym!

I like MVP pretty well. Its way overpriced ought to be closer to the Y which is a better facility and less than half the monthly cost. But only MVP has an outdoor pool so we join for a month or two a year and then promptly quit because the rest is not worth the money

Was member for years due to Silver Sneakers Priority Health Ins. Now changed insurance which has Fitness Coach, AND shows MVP as part of their program. They dont want to accept this now. CRAZY AND NOT HAPPY WITH THEM. GRAND RAPIDS AREA NEEDS MORE WARM WATER POOLS FOR US TO USE. ARTHRITIC PEOPLE NEED WARM WATER!! Schools have pools but are cold because of competition use. Having membership is too expensive for low income and retired people. BAD BAD. BAD REVIEW

In addition to the state of art work-out facilities, MVP has MVP Work-Space! A very comfortable environment as an alternative to working from home or in a coffee shop. Plenty of flexible seating for quiet conversations or focused, heads-down deliverables. You can work in a recumbent booth, on an exercise ball, in a lounge chair or a traditional table. Hot coffee and tea available all day long! They even have private conferences rooms available for small and large meetings if you need them! It has been a great alternative for me and lets my wife have the house to herself; a major win-win for the work-from-home lifestyle. It should make it easier to sneak in a work-out on lunch hour. That frontier is yet before me and a goal for the coming months. @mvpworkspace

Joined for the pool. The life guards are so rude at this location!! You can not have fun or relax at this location. Honestly, we are paying a lot to be here, I think they could be respectful to the members. At the other locations they are so much more fun and more relaxed!! It is summer, kids and adults should be able to have fun!!

I am very frustrated with this place. My family uses our membership mainly for the indoor therapeutic pool. 1. It can be tough to find a time to swim during the afternoon and convenient evening times (if you have children) because the pool is frequently blocked off for swim lessons. This appears to be their priority. 2. When it is not blocked off for swim lessons, they will still do private lessons during the open swim hours. This means that you cannot swim in the majority of the pool or use the nice ledge to sit. Today I felt like my family was such an inconvienence to them, which is really sad. We pay a lot of money for this. 3. I have experienced and have also witnessed the staff nit pick swimmers. My friend, without a membership, joined me today and was shocked by how much the lifeguards get after people for trivial things. I promise you that I support safe pool environments. I want everyone safe. Number one goal. However, lately my experiences have been stressful as my children are not able to enjoy themselves. Its a constant barrage of dont do this, dont do that. I hope this comment is perceived as respectful because I am not aiming to leave a rude review. Just feeling very discouraged and disappointed.

I am extraordinarily frustrated with this place. I am suffering from a medical condition. I called in January to put my membership on hold. I even submitted a doctors note. This gym is great but it doesn’t even come close to providing the value that the cost would require. The staff is great but the hours are terrible. It’s closes at 8 pm on the weekends and the kids club doesn’t even open til 8 am on weekdays and 12 pm on Sundays. It makes it impossible to work out in the morning before work unless you can get a babysitter that early. Also, at least one major amenity is ALWAYS out of service and they never even consider giving any sort of refund or bonus gift for the inconvenience. They shut the basketball courts down for an entire month and still have the audacity to charge full membership cost as if the use of the courts isn’t priced in. They’re all about the money and yet have no idea how to make it as their training staff just sits around and never offers help to the members. I was a member for a year and a half and never had one trainer approach me. Great club that is being terribly managed.

As a member I have repeatedly asked that all news channels be removed from the huge monitors were forced to watch while on the treadmill or elliptical but no response to my latest requests. And today the only news channel that is now on is Fox News. I have been informed that these decisions are made by higher ups, which lead me to conclude that MVP supports the promotion and promulgation of Fox News and ultimately Donald Trump.

For a time earlier this year the place was overcrowded but has since leveled off to pre-surge levels. Pretty clean as far as gyms go and staff is always available and friendly. Some of the influx customers seemed to be ticked off at the place being the last one standing so it seemed as though people at that time went out of their way to be slobs here. Again this has returned to normal so those comments are no longer relevant. Solid selection of equipment though those who are used to an LA Fitness or larger gym may find a few key pieces missing (leg presses anyone?!). However it is much less crowded than the downtown Y and you get to use any MVP in the area with membership. It is pricey but somewhat justified by the towel service, availability of equipment and different activities (pool, basketball, group fitness)
