These guys rock, man. A very chill, easy-going spot that I love going to. The vibe in the shop is always on point, whether its the music theyre playing or the camaraderie between the barbers and the patrons. If you make the visit, you will feel at home. Today I brought my five year-old with me for the first time. He was taking it easy, on my phone watching his nursery rhymes and walking around examining the shop while I was getting my haircut. The guys were patient with him and redirecting him back within our view when he was venturing off too far. At some point, he must have thought the music was a bit loud because he plugged his ears. Tommy immediately noticed, turned the music down and was more considerate than he needed to be and that made a great visit even better. He got me in and out quick, not that I was rushing, but (again 😄) he noticed the lad was starting to check out, getting antsy and ready to leave. Great experience on so many levels. Check em out and Im sure you wont regret it. PS- It was a great haircut too, per the usual (since this is a barbershop review and not a review for a daycare 😉).

Do not be skeptical of all the 5 star reviews, they are legit. Tom, Dom, and Ryan have cut my hair. Each has done a great job. The price is good too! Cant say enough about Henchmen House! My husband is a member and has never been happier with his cut. It goes beyond just stopping in to get a haircut...from the facial massage to the atmosphere, he has commented that it feels more like an experience. He loves that hes able to walk-in to the barbershop if he has some time in his day, or schedule an appointment online. He typically goes to Tommy but has gotten cuts from the other barbers and was very happy with them. When you send him in saying my wife would like my hair to look like Justin Timberlakes and they deliver...you know youre in a good place. So happy Grand Rapids has a barbershop like this!

Since moving to Grand Rapids a couple years ago Ive visited a few barber shops. One was awful. Another was okay. Another was pretty good. Now, in Henchman House Ive found the barbershop Ive been looking for. While they are certainly not the least expensive, they consistently give a great haircut and beard trim, every time. The service is always fantastic. I love that I can pay with my credit card and make an appointment too. Henchman House Barbershop gets my highest recommendation.

Henchmen was recommended to me by a co-worker but it still took one or two cuts at other places before I was able to make it in. Im glad I did. The staff was great, welcoming, and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted (but better). If you want a great cut/beard trim at a fair price, without going to a barber where youre lined up on the wall and not allowed to talk (like two other places in GR) check this place out. I found my new barber.

It is not easy to find a shop that you like, that always delivers and has a great atmosphere. I have been bouncing around for years trying to find the right place that fit. I have found that place at Henchmen House. I happened upon them by chance about a month after their opening after once again looking like a toddler with some construction paper scissors finished me off with a weed whacker. Right from my first visit, I could tell this shop was different. The guys have always provided a great atmosphere, professional service, tons of laughs and above all, a great cut. I tip my hat, not that I have to wear one anymore, to the guys at the Henchmen house and wish them continued success while maintaining the humble great times at every visit.

Tommy is the barber that I use at Henchmen. Very professional, great conversations, and I can always get a good laugh when I’m at Henchmen House. I would recommend anybody to any one of the three barbers there, very talented group of guys.

I had Adam cut my hair. I was greeted upon entering and the atmosphere was relaxed. Asked what I was looking for, contributed some ideas and then gave a great haircut! It looked like the guy next me was getting a fade and another great haircut.

Not only was I impressed by the way HHB responded to its customer and keeping everyone up to date on what was happening, but they also develop a good, safe, clean, and easy to follow plan for how to get service once things opened up. Dom was very professional and friendly and did an amazing job with cutting my hair. Will not only be going back but plan on buying their membership plan.

I come here often every other week. The only people I trust to cut my hair. I trust them so much I plan my vacations around my hair cuts. Look fresh when I leave refresh when I get back. Ive always found barbershops to be a little intimidating. Ive never been quite sure what to ask for. I would get nervous about being overly specific, or spend too much time Youtubing lingo just to walk in and say a little off the top and clean up the sides. Generally, Id walk away dissatisfied and hop to another shop for the next cut in hopes that my next barber would intrinsically know what I wanted. I was being ignorant, and Henchmen House helped me see that in the least judgmental and most relaxed way possible. I have been going to Dom for cuts since August. He created a comfortable environment, sought clarification regarding my preferences, and helped me dial in what I wanted in a cut and beard shaping. I wont be looking for another barber anytime soon. Tonight, after my last cut, total strangers had an odd curiosity about my grooming habits. Selfishly, I wanted to hold out, and just tell them I do my own styling, but I caved and sent them on to Henchmen House.

This shop opened around four months ago and it is just one of the many reasons GR is becoming so awesome. This is a true barber shop for those who want to look like they are from the 1890s like myself or a clean buttered up line for the younger folk. They offer traditional hot towel shaves, professional fades, and elegant haircuts. This is all topped off by great conversation. Tommy the owner is a very knowledgeable along with the rest of his barber crew. The short lived age of the mini-mall cuts is over. Time to be a man again and visit Henchman House.
