I had problems with getting my taxes done this year. The lady that always did mine never got them done this year and she passed away. I just found this all out. I had an appointment somewhere else and they never showed up. I called Hoods at 6:15pm tonight and explained what happened. They got me in and stayed open to help me. They explained everything to me and helped me get my taxes done. I will be going back again. They not only helped me but got me back money and took great care of me. I would recommend them to anyone.

For the past several years, weve had the utmost confidence and trust using Hoods for our tax preparation. One huge plus is they are local (so ALL of your fees stay local), and do things a little differently than those huge advertised national firms. They dont follow the cookie cutter programs, but instead, have to actually think through the process to your entire advantage. They also have a process where before they send it off, another employee checks/audits the work done.Weve been highly pleased with the time it takes to submit our return after dropping everything off, and before weve expected it, weve been surprised at how quickly our refunds have arrived. (No guarantee youll get a refund, but we expect one by withholding more than we need to vs. having a surprise bill to the IRS).Highly recommend! You should give them a try!

My husband and I walked in thinking we were going to have to make an appointment because it was so late. Nope! They took us right in and treated us so nicely. Alice was our tax preparer and Nanette is the owner. Alice was super sweet and knowledgeable while preparing our taxes. The owner is actually on the floor with everyone making sure everything is going smoothly. This is our third year using Hoods tax and Accounting. Our accountant John wasnt with them anymore and they assigned us a new one. This year we were doing self proprietor on my part. I had few questions that the new accountant couldnt answer and she asked if we will wait few days so she can get advice from hew Boss. For some reason she didnt return part of our documents and kept them in the office. After 10 days wait I made the call and talked to Nanette ( thee owner) and she said that they are closed due to COVIT19 and they dont even work on the phone or by email to complete the tax. I asked her if I can stop by and pu my documents. They charged me $250 for the time their accountant spent in order to return my papers.Stay away, they are not professional.

We will not go back to this tax preparers place anymore. 2018 tax returned was screwed up by one of the tax preparer,they ended up amending it but we ended up paying 38 hundred dollars back. No apologies from the owner. So disappointed. Check your return for error before you leave the place. Whats the point of paying someone to do your taxes at this point??Missed the previous owner.

This business was the best until the original owner Lenette Hood retired. Lenette Hood was personally doing my taxes since before 2005, with no errors. I hesitantly allow one of the new preparers (John) to prepare our taxes in 2017, it was so evident that he did not know what he was doing, so the owner ask if she could have one of her suppose to be seasoned preparer from the other office come in to check over and redo the paperwork. Long story short he also screwed up, and I paid 1097 back in federal taxes. Here comes the kicker. Spring forward to 2019 we found out That Margie Pfaffenbichler an originalpreparer from the beginning of Hood Taxes was still working there.I address my concerns about the 2017 taxes and show her my evidence. Margie did an amended 2017 taxes and sure enough the Federal government owes me 1000, and the state owes me a couple of dollars also. I just mailed both taxes off today. Margie also prepared our 2018 returns, she explained everything clearly. We give Margie 5 stars. If you utilized this company I strongly advise that you use Margie, when she retires I will look elsewhere
