During my filling the dental assistant had her hair down and it was basically in my mouth because she was leaning in over me and her hair was long; she wasn’t sitting in the dental assisting stool. I believe it’s an osha regulation that dental assistants should have their hair up and out of their face. They didn’t even give me glasses for during the procedure that they usually give to avoid the light from getting In your eyes or if an object would’ve slipped it could’ve fell into my eye for all I know.

Went here to get two cavities filled. The drill slipped while drilling one of my teeth. No one said anything and just continued. I’ve never had a cavity before in my life before this and make sure to take care of my teeth. I went here because my sister did and she had a good experience.Within a year, I’m in pain again in the tooth next to the one they drilled AND in the tooth they drilled. I’m going to a different dentist this time.Quick edit: If they even offered to do an extra x-Ray or something to make sure no damage was done from the mistake, I would have been perfectly happy. Everyone makes mistakes, but it was ignored like it didn’t happen.

Needed an emergency appt & they managed to get me in very quickly. I also only could spare so much time as a family member was in the hospital & being discharged that day as well. The Dr & medical assistant were awesome. They explained everything they were doing and gave me options on solutions to me issue.I was in & out of there in time to get to the hospital in plenty of time & my dental problem solved efficiently & quickly.I will definitely be going back to AFD for follow ups as my dentist retired lady year.

My daughter and I have been patients at Atlantic Family Dental in Garner for a couple years now and have been very pleased with our dental care. All the staff there is very professional and friendly. My daughter went for a dental appointment today and she received a balloon animal to take home with her which made her day. Little things like that and the quality dental care really set this office apart from other dental offices that I have been to.

First time at this practice and it was fantastic. The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a tv in the exam room so you can stay entertained as you wait for the doc. The person who did my cleaning was especially great (sorry I forgot her name), she did a very thorough job and made sure I was comfortable, she also gave me great advice on improving my dental care without making me feel bad about my past negligence. I will definitely return and send my friends and family.

This place is awesome! They are ALWAYS accommodating and have great staff. Their front desk is very friendly and their dental hygienist whose name slips my mind is wonderful. She is very sweet and knowledgeable. Made me feel comfortable and at ease as I am terrified of the dentist. I would reccomend this place to anybody seeking dental care for themselves or their children. You wont be disappointed.

Unfortunately this practice has taken a turn for the worse. They sent me an appointment reminder with the incorrect time. I replied that I was confused and they apologized for the email. However, then they decided to tell me that they only accept Medicaid patients on certain days of the week and that I would need to reschedule to a day when they accept it. As a working parent, I have to have dentist and doctors appointments on the days the children have off from school. This dentist office is just not a reasonable option for working parents on Medicaid.

I just had a very pleasant first visit at Atlantic Family Dental in Garner. Dr. Eisberg and staff were very thorough as well as professional and friendly. I’m going back tomorrow for my first cleaning! It was great they could fit me in so soon too.Just to follow up...It’s been a couple weeks. I’ve had a whole lot of dental work done including some cosmetic work on my front tooth and I have been absolutely happy with the results. Dr. Byrne did most of the work and she is awesome! I never felt a thing and my dental work was above my expectations. These folks are great! I found my new dental home! Please support this practice.

This office is full of friendly people, from the receptionists to the doctors themselves. Almost all of the employees speak Spanish so thats a big help for people who have trouble speaking English. They also offer plenty of discounts for patients who dont have any dental insurance. If you do have insurance, they file the claims for you as a courtesy so you dont have to worry about any paperwork. Overall the services they provide are excellent and I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for a new dentist.

The receptionist was rude. I made appointments for my family to make things easier. Then I was informed I wouldnt be able to go back with my child during a filling. She is 6. Youve got to be kidding me, supposedly my child will behave better if Im not around. Not even joking. They tried to charge me for things I knew my insurance covered. I called my insurance company and they informed me to find a new practice so I did. Im only giving one star because I have to.

My son is 7 years old and has been going to this dentist for maybe a year and a half (every 6 months visits). His last visit they discovered he had 3 cavities so we made an appointment for the following week(today) to get them filled. They called my son to the back and told me I was not allowed to go back with him for the treatment. I’ve never had a cavity before so I don’t know what’s going to happen and my 7 year old was nervous as well and wanted me with him. I told the nurse or whoever she was that I was not comfortable with it and my son was not neither and she just shrugged her shoulders saying that’s office policy with kids over 5. Either way he is still a minor and we were both uncomfortable, I’ve never heard of anything like this . I canceled my appointment and immediately scheduled somewhere else for next week. This is not the first time that this office has made me upset, I remember at his last 6 month check up we waited a hour from our scheduled time before we got called to the back and when we got to the back we waited another 30 minutes before anyone even came in to greet us and start the cleaning, I was leaving out as soon as the nurse was walking to the back who convinced me to stay, I should have found a new dentist back then.

The work done is great, and the time that they spent working on me was very efficient. However, the wait times are ridiculous! I was called back 8 minutes after my appointment time, which was perfectly fine. However, I waited another 45 minutes in the back before being started on, and when they started it was just the numbing gel, not even the Novocaine. I was numbed and ready to go over an hour after my appointment time. I got 4 fillings, and the work took about 45 minutes which I thought was pretty quick. However, I was there for a total of 2 hours and the rest was all waiting! I understand some waiting, but the amount here was ridiculous. The staff is friendly and receptionists are very helpful.

Not the worst place but I went a few months ago as an emergency visit and I forewarned that at that time I was pregnant and apparently the staff doesnt read information or communicate with one another because the lady almost gave me an x-ray with no covering. Also BEWARE of the oral surgeon referrals because the man I was referred to really did a number on a family members mouth and thank God I asked around before going to him.

The staff was friendly but my experience was scary. Had got some teeth pulled, was on laughing gas, the doctor a one point was pushing down on my nose and thats where i was receiving oxygen. I tried to lift my hand to signal to them i couldnt breathe they just told me keep your hand down. They thought the gas had put me to sleep and they were speaking negative on how long its been since i came it was so unprofessional. Will not be returning

I went to Atlantic Family Dental for the first time today. I have an infected tooth and the infection had got into my face. They were very nice when I called. They were able to see me the same day. I didnt have to wait too terribly long, even though I had to be worked in. The staff is very caring, thorough, and thoughtful. I was in a great deal of pain and dentists always make me nervous. This dentist was very gentle and understanding. I really could tell how much they care for their patients well being. I will be returning for my future dental needs.

Came in yesterday as a new patient with a problem area and they were quick to get me in and resolve the matter. I have to have the root extracted and got me in the very next day! The staff is amazing!! I have a high feat of dentists and dental work and they were quick to put me at ease!!

Stay away from this dentist, Robert Eisberg. I just moved to Garner and went to him to have my teeth cleaned. I am 65 and had recently gotten $5000 work of dental work done including 4 crowns. Eisberg examined my teeth and said I needed $500 worth of deep cleaning before he could clean my teeth. He also said I had 2 cavities and would need a crown. The total amount for the program would be $2,300.00. Naturally I left. Went to a new dentist who said my teeth were in great condition, needed no deep cleaning, had no cavities, and did not need a crown. Got my teeth cleaned for $150.00. Eisberg tried to perpetrate a scam. Find another dentist you can trust.

Hands down the worst customer service and staff I have ever seen in the medical profession. Several incidents over 6 months have caused us to completely switch dentist. These incidents include but are not limited to not properly notifying us of the forms needed to be filled out for children to become new patients, refusing to write a doctors note for school, and closing the office early without warning when they knew I was headed in at the end of the day to pick up forms needed for insurance.I cannot recommend enough finding another dentist in this area. This is a problem that begins with the receptionist, goes up through management, and ends in the dentist chair.

Atlantic Family Dental *might* be a great fit for you but theres a few things you should know as you shop around. When I moved here, I relied heavily on customer reviews to help me find new doctors, mechanics, etc. So I was impressed with Atlantics high ratings and made my appointment. It turns out that they offer their clients a goodie basket if they give the practice a 5-star rating. Please note - you dont get the basket for any feedback; its for a 5 star rating. Ill let you decide how you feel about that. Second, if you have children, please be aware that they have a policy that parents are not permitted to be present for any dental procedure other than cleanings. Their rationale is that my child will be better behaved for them if I am not around; an explanation I find terribly arrogant. I figured if my pediatrician can figure how how to give shots and suture a wound with me present, I could probably find a dentist who could fill a cavity while I read a book nearby. So I did. I think this practice has promise. The dentists were very capable and intelligent, the front office staff is super nice. I hope they find ways to wow their clients so those 5 star reviews keep coming - goodie basket or not.

Best dental office ever!! I broke my tooth on Wednesday night, called as a new patient on Thursday morning and got in within an hour! My root was removed and I felt immediate relief. My infection has been controlled and I am so grateful to Atlantic Family Dental for taking care of me when I needed it. 😌👌

Very unprofessional experience today. My dad had an appointment this morning originally at 9:30 and was called yesterday and asked to come at 8:30, he told them he could come by 9. He arrived and after 10 minutes was put in the chair, he was given 3 shots to numb his mouth for a tooth that was going to be removed. My father has really bad nuropathy pain & is 70 years old so taking the shots alone was painful for him to handle. The doctor told him he would come back in a few minutes to start. One hour and half later passed and no one came. My dad started getting concerned that the numbness was wearing off & got up to find out what was going on. First, he spoke to a young man that was not sure & then a minutes the dentist Mr. Robert Eisberg came in and proceeded to tell my dad he was sorry that they would not be able to finish today. My dad wasted his time from work, arrived early & waited with an annoying machine that was beeping behind him for an hour and half only to have to get up and find out what’s going on himself. Just for them to do nothing. Of course he got upset. They told him they did not have supplies or that something was not working. There is no reason he should have received the shots if they didnot have the proper equipment ready to use. Also, there is no reason he should have been sitting there for that long & had to get up to find out what was going on. That’s not how business should be demonstrated at all. I am in the medical field and I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism that was displayed at this dentistry today. In every profession there is a code of ethics to follow, for dentist they are 5 fundamental principles of: autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice and veracity. Which were not displayed today at this office! Dr. Eisberg claims to strive “to treat his patients in-house, saving his patients both time and money.” That was also not the case today. I do not recommend anyone to go here and risk having their time wasted.

Disappointing customer service. Not rude but abrupt. When asked for a reason for a rule (such as a parent not being allowed back for a minors cleaning) I received the same “we don’t allow” response.I had left a message for my son following a broken tooth and they never returned my initial call. After mentioning it a week later I was met with silence.It feels like they’re well training on scripts to follow, but a question or response that deviates from that is met with either silence or confusion.I can’t speak to the positive reviews, but the negative ones reflect my experience 100%. They may do solid work (time will tell), but if you are nervous or apprehensive about going to the dentist, pick someplace else.

Both my son and I are former patients - former because this practice apparently did not want our business. I will explain about that at the end of the review.I will say that all of the staff is very friendly, and most speak Spanish. Some staff (at least more than a year ago at our last visit) may be a bit hard to understand when speaking English, but not impossible. The waiting area is usually pretty clean and there is a little room off to the side for children. This office accepts Care Credit, and they do a good job of cleaning teeth and explaining issues - as long as you are the patient. They use one-use disposable materials as much as possible, and will offer to change the TV station and provide you with sunglasses to wear if the lights above are too bright during cleaning.However, be warned that as a parent, you will not be allowed to accompany your child for the exam, and will get a report from the hygienist after the cleaning. You dont speak with the dentist for your child at all. As a parent, I dont like this policy and this is the only practice I have been to that does this. Saturdays are usually busy, but that is to be expected. During the week, though, you can often get same or next day appointments, and they do accept walk ins (but expect a wait, sort of like when you go to urgent care).Now to discuss why we are former patients. For awhile as a single mother, I was carrying dental insurance on myself and child through work, but my child also qualified for NC Health Choice (basically Medicaid, except there is a small annual premium and also co-pays for some services and most/all prescriptions). My child had an appointment for a Saturday that had been scheduled at the previous visit six months prior. On the Thursday before, the office called and left a message to cancel the appointment because the person working didnt accept our insurance. The message didnt indicate which of the two (or both) insurances werent accepted.) I tried calling back several times over the next two days and it always went to voicemail regardless of what time of day I called- and I did leave a message. I also emailed them, but never received a response. At that point, it was clear that this practice did not want our business and we have taken it elsewhere. We live within walking distance of this office and otherwise, would have recommended it to others. After that experience, I cant really recommend them unless you dont have another option.

Samantha and she just seen she told I had information .I respect her knowledge. The only thing that she does not do extraction. She send us with a another doctor. Is why I put my health with you. My intial visit here and the first thing that I noticed was there was introduction and no smiles/greetings. After taking my x-rays the dentist came in and told me that I have 10 cavities and I will also need my root canal retreated & they refer that out to an Endodontist which didnt take my insurance and it was going to cost me $1500.00 out of pocket. I had a feeling that this was a shady place!!! So going with my gut, I made an appt. with another dentist (referred by a friend) on falls of neuse rd. After going to the second dentist at 7am and everyone was all smiles and greetings here!! They told me that my root canal was fine and did not need to be retreated! So no $1500.00 bill!! Also the dentist mentioned that I have ONE cavity!!!! Long story short......I will never ever recommend Atlantic Dental to anyone and YES I will be telling people about my experience!! In addition I will refer patients to my new and permanent dentist on falls of neuse rd.

I would be very concerned about an office that refuses to allow a support person or even parent back into the exam room. I had a new patient visit today and due to extreme anxiety requested a support person be allowed to sit with me through my exam. They refuse to allow anyone over the age of 4 have anyone including parents back into the exam room. This I find to be extremely questionable, a child would not be able to asses the cleanliness, quality of the work or materials used. They set an unrealistic expectation, this is not a dental board requirement and many offices do allow a support person or parent to accompany them. The paper work for the new patient packet was riddled with spelling and grammar errors. This all ads up to a very uncomfortable and questionable office.
