My transmission needed replacement and they worked with me, helping me find a reasonable price for a replacement within my budget. They quickly completed the repair after the part came in and kept me informed of everything happening. After the repair the pan gasket was still leaking and they quickly took care of it, and it was covered under warranty. These people have been honest, professional and helpful the whole time.

Know what’s better than saving hundreds...... saving a thousand lol!!!! First off let me say, Steve was great throughout the whole experience. I dropped my car off on Monday afternoon late, he promised he’d have a tech look at it first thing and he delivered! I got a call Tuesday morning with a diagnosis and an estimated repair cost of $1800. I need my car for work so I said go ahead with it. He said he’d have it done by the end of the week. I secretly called around 8 different shops and no one gave me a better number (6 of them didn’t even do the repair on that vehicle). I got a call from Steve mid day Thursday. He said “I’ve got good news, and I’ve got great news, which one do you want first?”. He proceeded to tell me first that the car was finished, and second that the total cost was $480 instead of $1800!!! I was ECSTATIC !!!! The car runs good as new and I haven’t had any issues out of it !!! Thanks guys. If you were debating on using them, just do it already. You won’t be disappointed!!!!

I highly recommend Aamco Transmission in Garner. I brought in my 2015 Hyundai Sonata because my check engine light was on and had a hesitation when accelerating. Steve was very helpful and made me realize that I was taking my car to the right place. I dropped my car off the night before and the night day they called and informed me, my car had recalls and what was happening with my car was do to the recalls. They printed off the papers I need to take to Hyundai . When picking up my car I was told I owed nothing!!! I know that hooking up the computer and running diagnostic test take time and was very surprised they didnt charge me.I will be returning for future maintenance on my vehicle as I found out they do all types of mechanical work.I have to say after working in my fathers service station for 30 years, it is hard to find someone you can trust. This is the first place I have brought my car since my dad passed and the station closed that I truly felt like I could trust.Believe me, I am very hesitant, but when I left Aamco I felt great about my choice in where to take my car!

Lost 2nd, 4th, 6th and reverse in my manual transmission. Took my car to AAMCO with the idea that it would cost a pretty penny for a rebuild. The technicians at AAMCO as well as Mr. Steve made me feel very at ease. I knew my car was going to he taken care of. I have had terrible experiences with other shops in the area but Mr. Steve assured me they would take care of it and they did.Rather than spending a few grand to get a rebuild like I thought I needed, they fixed my car and saved me nearly 80% than I assumed I would have had to spend. Most CERTAINLY, will be utilizing the services at AAMCO in Garner, for any future repairs as well as professional advice. I told them the problem and they accepted the work as soon as possible. They were very professional and got it done quickly. A couple of years ago I had a rear main seal and water pump replaced on my Silverado. The price was nearly the lowest quote. I decided to go with AAMCO because of the positive reviews. The truck has not had any issues since. I bought a used Tahoe last year and after having it for only 4 months it developed a rear main seal leak as well. I decided to have it replaced as well. I dropped the truck off late in the evening and had it back early afternoon the next day! Again the cost was very fair in my shopping around. Of course I knew they did a great job with my Silverado. Then my Tahoe AC went out. I got a quote from a repair place near home in Clayton (close to Chargrill). They wouldnt give a quote on the phone for replacement of the system. They stated they would need to run diagnostics first and that it would be over 200.00 and that was on top of the cost to replace the system, not included! I took the truck in anyway. After having the vehicle over 4 hours they called and said the entire system would need to be replaced and gave a quote of 1800.00!!! The salesman said he would talk to the mechanic to see if they could bring the cost down. When he called back it was 1500.00 and that was on top of the 200.00 + dollars for diagnostics. I guess when I showed up they sensed I was ready to do battle. Why? Because I knew they hadnt run diagnostics. The belt on the AC compressor was broke and would had to have been replaced to test. It was still without a belt!I called Steve at AAMCO. Got an approximate quote on the phone of 600.00 less and diagnostics was.....FREE! In the end I had the entire system (front and rear AC) replaced for 600.00 less and that included the tensioner pulley that wasnt in the original quote.Bottom line....Steve and the folks at AAMCO Garner are honest, professional and a pleasure to do business with! I wont bother with anyone else again!

I have great respect and appreciation for AAMCO on Dynamic Drive in Garner. I had just bought a used car and wanted the transmission checked because I am all about preventive maintenance. Ill admit that I was a bit nervous because this was my first time going to them and I had only the other positive reviews to go on. This was my very first truck so imagine my disgust when I found out just two weeks after my last payment, it needed a new transmission!I decided to try and save as much money as I could and let a friend convince me that he could fix it for way less than what a repair shop would charge. BIG MISTAKE PEOPLE! After me buying parts he told me he needed, him playing around with it and it still not working, I ended up having it towed to AAMCO in Garner so they could try and make some sense of the mess.I had already been without my truck for about a month and I was NOT happy to say it nicely. When I talked to Mr. Mo, he was very patient with me and I felt like he really understood my situation and where I was at trying to deal with the whole situation. I just wanted it fixed and DONE.We figured out how I could finance the repair and a few days later I got a call from Steve saying my truck was ready! WOW! I thought he had me confused with somebody else but I didnt argue. Went to pick up my truck, test drove it on the road, test drove it some more, signed my life away and then drove by my friends house on the way home! Didnt stop of course, kept on going just because I could!Hey guys, thank you all for helping me out of this disaster. If you read this, you should give me a call and tell me what you all like to drink and Ill be glad to bring some by and I promise to stop! Thanks again!Tom

STOP DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AMMCO OF GARNER FOR SERVICE !!!I took my SUV for an intermittent issue of hesitation as recommended by our longtime mechanic who was not able to isolate the issue being experienced. We schedule an appoint with AMMCO in Garner and discussed the issue with Fred Washington. We follow-up later the same day and they stated they were not able to isolate the problem and okay for us to pick up. We pick-up our SUV the next morning and it was driven to our home without incident.Later that day during my routine afternoon carpool pickup suddenly the drive shaft fell onto the road. By the grace of God, I was not on a major highway and was able to safely pull over to the side of the road. I immediately contacted Fred Washington at AAMCO of Garner to ask what may have happened and requested they tow my vehicle to their shop for repair, Fred Washington stated call me back. After several call attempts, he refused to take my call. I then had to have my vehicle towed to my mechanic. In researching the possibility of GM SUV drive shaft issues, along with feedback from automotive experts including Firestone and a licensed auto dealer it seems very unlikely the drive shaft to fall-out without intervention and manipulation. Also, confirmed a drive shaft in a luxury GM SUV as I own is designed to last for a lifetime of the vehicle. In addition, we were advised by long time mechanic the bolts were missing and it takes a goodly amount of force to unbolt a drive shaft. As a result, and after AMMCO’s apparent negligence, we did not have access to the family SUV for upwards of one month. They refused to communicate with our mechanic to provide professional insight in order to understand what occurred. They refused to reimburse the cost of repairs and rental expenses due to their negligence.A formal complaint has been filed against AAMCO of Garner.I do not recommend AMMCO of Garner due to their poor customer service, lack of expertise, lack of professionalism and willingness to compromise someone’s safety for their personal gain.If you’re in need of expert transmission service DO NOT take your vehicle to AMMCO of Garner. If I could give a no star rating that is what I would have selected.

Watch out for Guillermo Mo!!! He is a shady business man and will do anything to take your money!! Bad business must be catching up to him and now hes getting greedy! Took my car to him because I thought I had a transmission problem. He told me it was the alternator and battery! Asked him if it would fix the problem and he told me it would. It didnt. Then he said it was a sensor and some wiring which he worked on for free. Didnt fix the problem. He then replaced the speed computer (the TCM?) and only charged for salvage computer (software upgrade was free). That didnt fix the problem. One of his techs told me the next step was to replace the main computer in the car. After 11 days of the run around, I took the car back IN THE SAME CONDITION I DROPPED IT OFF IN and took it Ford directly. Ford tells me it was water on a connector shorting out the car. $120 and 1.5 hours later the car was fine!! I went to Mo with this info and he told me my car needed those unnecessary repairs and that he wasnt giving me anything back. He then got nasty when I tried to argue back that he lied to me about the repairs fixing the problem. He went from being the guy interested in helping to being completely nasty and began refusing to tell me where my old parts had gone so I could verify that I needed those repairs. Then he started threatening to charge me for the free parts and labor!! Seriously?! Never take your car there. Mo is as dishonest as they come and karma will get him and his family back for this!

I was recently referred here by my warranty group to take my van. My van had an engine problem and I had to take it to an engine specialist per warranty terms.I was surprised when they offered to toll it for me, and picked it withing two hours after the call. Well, it took a long time to fix it as my warranty insurance company tried to determine what actually caused this major problem and whether its covered or not. During the waiting period, they kept me posted on what is going on and more than anything else my husband and I were quite impressed by their empathic customer service, very assuring, great communication skills and detailed as they explained the results of every test performed in our van. I have driven my van for two months now and its running great. After one month they asked me to take it back for free oil change which is always recommended after a new motor runs for the first 1000 miles. No doubt thats where I will be taking my van for maintenance as well. Its a bit far but distance is no match to excellent service. I recommend them to all without any reservation. I will start off by saying, mechanics can be put into a negative light.. We are very selective with who it is that we choose to work with.. With that being said, our van has been down for almost a year.. We knew we needed our transmission looked at.. After looking at several places, we decided to go with Aamco in garner N.C.. I am so pleased with the services.. Steve was such a pleasure to speak and work with.. He was very patient and informative when I asked different questions.. (Im an inquisitive woman) We were informed when they came across something that needed fixing, they didnt pressure us into fixing it.. We finally get our van back but had to take it back up the nxt day for a high idle issue.. They thought it corrected itself, it didnt show up until well after leaving the shop.. Took that van back in expecting to spend more money to get this corrected.. They traced the issue back to a gasket being upside down, this had the potential of being almost a $700 dollar job.. The integrity and down right goodness of these men to turn it around and not charge us left me in awe! No more high idling! Fred was courtesy on the phone and the other gentleman i think his name is Moe, he was very informative as well.. He walked through what or how the IAC worked..I don’t know who actually worked on rebuilding the transmission but thank you! We will be returning to them for any future work we need.. I hope no one has any transmission issue, but if they do, I will recommend Aamco of Garner in a heart beat!

We decided to go with them for the car-cedure (car procedure) and they were prompt in getting things done and done right. They give trustworthy estimates/ pricing, and get things going in a professional timely manner. Thank you staff at AAMCO for your skilled workmanship.Zach and Jamie Devor

Every so often the transmission in my 03 Taurus would find neutral in any gear. This is a serious impediment to the pursuit of highway happiness. This stumped three very good ASE mechanics, one of which thought I was from Mars. Mos crew found the problem right away, diagnosed it correctly, and presented me with three different solutions in varying degrees of cost and guarantee. No money changed hands until we had a repair plan and executed it. The transmission operated perfectly out of the box, and when yet another part of the Taurus came loose they fixed that too because it was close to where they had been working (no charge). [Im surprised though that Google allows some non-constructive reviews under false names. Im as real as a geezer can get, living in southern Wake County, NC.]

I was cursed at on the phone today by Steve. In 2015 took my corvette to the shop the first time to get my transmission rebuilt and it set me back about $1400, but I was happy with the work so I decided “Hey, they did a good job. Next time I have an issue I’m gonna go to Aamco” and I even recommended them to a few friends of mine.Fast forward to 2017, same thing. Had some tie rods replaced. Steve at the front always had underhanded comments about how I was handeling my corvette and would generally talk a lot of smack, but I figure that must be part of his personality so I don’t take it as seriously.April 2018 my engine starts to fail on me and I’m basically told that it’s my fault. Cool, but before I took it to them I knew what all worked in my car and what didn’t work so I spent $2000 on an engine and had the ac compressed and radiator replaced along with the engine by aamco for $4400. So the total for this repair was over $6k and I’m still paying monthly for this to this day. I looked at the itemized list and there were some extra things thrown in there I didn’t onow about but it fixed the car and hey my A/C works! My a/c hasn’t worked in years. As far as Aamco was concerned, their worked was finished on 4/20/2018.I picked my car up on 4/20/2018 highly stressed due to the cost and two hours later my check engine light came on, I had a severe leak with my power steering hose, my horn didn’t work and I found that out the hard way causing someone to swipe my corvette merging over. A/c still worked though so I’m like cool, I’ll take it back to them, explain that I’m having new issues, have them fix them and everything will be alright.Nope. I bring my car to them on June 5th 2018 and I’m told that they will have lifts available so I’m thinking they can be gone work on my car ASAP. I car every other day hoping for a progress update. “Oh were still looking at it”. Well it’s been a whole week Steve...I’ve spent $200 on a rental already but okay. Over a week later I call again wondering what’s going on with my car. Nothing new. Can’t figure out why the CHECK ENGINE light is on. At this point I’m abot $400 in rentals. So I tell my mother what’s going on and she drags me to Aamco tofigure out what going on and all the sudden I’m getting answers. Oh and surprise, the horn isn’t under warranty because apparently I wasn’t believed when I said it was working before I dropped it off the first time. The check engine light was some “knock sensor” and they’ll have my car ready by next Wednesday.Wait so once my mother shows up I get answers? Steve calls me Tuesday June 19 and says my car is ready. I pick it up the next day and my paid for horn works, they can’t find a rack-and-pinion for my 99 vette and now my check engine light was a “wiring issue”? I thought it was a knock sensor but that got covered under warranty. OH BY THE WAY there’s a hole in your a/c condenser....So you’re telling me you dropped the whole engine, replaced EVERYTHING that caused me not to get A/C and didn’t tell me I had a home in my condenser then but NOW, now you tell me. So I’m like, okay, a/c still works, I’ll get it done another time.Drive off and my a/c is out. I call Aamco this morning.I was told these words by Steve.“You can’t remember a DAMN thing I tell you!”.“I told you you had a hole in your a/c condenser when you brought your mom up here! Do you even listen?!”Wait...I’m a customer. Why am I being talked to like this? I’ve never disrespected anyone at Aamco and all I wanted was quality work for quality pay. I’ve invested a lot of money in my car and I trusted them but I didn’t deserve that.If you’re young like me or anybody really don’t go here. The age discrimination is real.Go somewhere else. It hurts to say this because family have worked with Mo, Steve and the others for over 15 years on having our cars serviced. I know Mo was aware of the my disservice but he walked right by me and my mom when we came back for an update and didn’t speak a word to us.I’m severely upset. My Worst experience of ALL businesses.

BIG MISTAKE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! READ EVERYONES BAD REVIEWS BEFORE GIVING THIS GUY MO YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR DISHONEST WORK & BAD SERVICEI am not the type of guy to normally write a bad review on a company especially if they try to make an effort but after taking my daughters car to this shop these people made no effort at all to make our issue right and should be ashamed to call themselves a professional company. I would ride my bike to work before I would take my car back to these people. They dont even deserve the 1 star rating but Google doesnt have a 0 star rating. This was the worst experience we have ever had with a mechanic shop and cannot believe that they able to use AAMCOs name to appear to be a professional company. AAMCO should not allow them to continue to run this business this way. Im telling you if you take your car to this shop BEWARE of a terrible experience.I paid to have my daughters transmission rebuilt and got a good warranty on it but what a joke that was. After about a year later and the 3rd time of experiencing issues with this transmission I did not let take it back instead I took it to another transmission shop and they are telling me that it looks as if only part of the transmission is new and most of these parts inside this transmission look to be original and look to have years upon years of wear and tear. I honestly believe they only repaired the damaged part causing my issues at the time and now another part which is original is failing. Theres no way they rebuilt the entire thing and she consistently having issues every 3 months unless they just dont know what they are doing. She has been driving this car for about 6 months now with no issues whatsoever. Go Figure. After reading Derrics review this week he is completely right, I believe the public should know about this shop. It is amazing that they are still in business.

I have a 97 honda accord. Got it from my uncle mechanic for 800. Great car, but after 260,000 miles the tranny goes, so i had to replace it. Had to get a enterprise rent-a-car, so I was thinking Ima spend a lotta $$$$. Had the thing towed to aamco transmissions in garner, north carolina and they were amazing. I spoke with Steve and he had my car towed over there and he quoted me at $2350 for everything, more than fair rate to say the least. He then gave me options to finance since transmission work is so expensive on labor and parts; especially when they have to rebuild it. Now I dont have to pay the whole thing at one time!!!!! He talked to me everyday for about a working week on updates and guaranteeing me everything was gonna be just fine. He even saw a problem with the oil switch leaking like crazy, so he got a new oil switch for it, put fresh oil in and (since he dinged the oil filter a bit pulling the trans out) he put a new filter on for free. Love these guys. When I got drove it back yesterday, 5/4/17, I was floating on air. I even called them today, 5/5/17, to let them know how good of a job they did. If u have a good car, but the transmission goes out, or u got a big job most car mechanics charge an arm and a leg for, TRUST ME, go here before signing your life away on a car payment. They will hook u up, fairly and accurately.

Worst place in the World probably to take Your car for service. Wouldnt recommend this place to someone I DIDNT like.Went in for a starter replacement, nothing else wrong with My car at the time, only to pick it up from there with My check engine light on and car info sayin (engine malfunction,, reduced power). Tried to drive off and car wont go above 30mph with gas pedal to the floor. So now not even 10 minutes out this So-Called shop getting car towed to the BMW Dealership! Only reason I didnt take it there in the first place is because extended warranty place I deal with(but not for long) recommended this place!!!NEVER AGAINwish I could post pictures to show how much oil and grime was left in My light grey carpet and upholstery.!!!STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE,,,, BY ALL MEANS!!!!Guillermo Mo Ahumada (owner/operator)should have his license revoked A.
