Newer facility. Kind of expensive and not a ton of classes at this point. Also the equipment is really packed in there. It would be nice to have more room between equipment. There are places where you cant get a full set in without having to pause to let people slide by or add weight to their machine. But its the only gym around and is well kept.
Extremely nice staff. Never overcrowded. Equipment kept in good shape.
There need to be more classes at different times and intervals. Beside that, it is good
Great staff, great location, excellent facility and equipment, reasonable prices
I felt the need to write a quick review now that the gym has been open for nearly 11 months after being closed for about 3 months due to the pandemic. They have taken a cautious approach with only very other cardio machine being available for use and turning the main level cycling studio into extra space to work out. They have plenty of cleaning fluids and hand sanitizer available and virtually all the members now clean the machines after use which wasnt the case pre-pandemic. The locker rooms reopened after several months of being closed and appear cleaner than before. There is no doubt that many people canceled their memberships as it is rarely crowded which means plenty of social distancing. The staff is friendly and though a few people have left or not returned I still recommend this for its convenience and relatively inexpensive price.
Its very poor communication with customer. and very disappointment with management. From Nov 2020 Gym start charged $20 extra for the maintenance fee(Gym lady said that this fee is for the cleaning fee and sent an email to everyone, I never got it.) without sending an email or communication. also Gym charged 3 times($20x3) declined fees and never refunded. I asked for refund but billing manager told me that will credit for it. I dont trust her yet all. They cant keep the money that collected from me. Why they keep trying to charges after declined credit card.(Credit card company renewal credit cards every 2-3 years). Why dont they call the customer or sending an email? They never did it. BTW, the facility is fine to me. Its management handling is very poor communication. also let you guys know that canceling fee is about $35. one month of charges.
Theres one guy there whos really cool, and who I usually see. But this is the only gym, and only business for that matter, that Im aware of thats still running on reduced hours, and charging full price. I take covid seriously, but being open one hour later during the week days so those of us who work can actually get something out of this expensive membership, really doesnt seem unreasonable. I feel like they got used to it and the hours are going to stay that way. And youll be asked to leave 5 minutes early as well. Its frustrating as hell because thats not what I agreed to. Ive been paying $50 a month for almost a year for a membership that is almost useless for me. If I speed, I make it there at 9 45pm, so I get 10-15 minutes instead of an hour and 15 minutes. Its a significant difference. I even had to buy a one year planet fitness membership (24/7) just so I had somewhere to work out. I kept hoping it would go back to normal, but it never did and I dont think it will. Did I mention that Im frustrated? Im definitely never renewing my membership.Equipment is fine though. That, along with the dude I get along with... I guess I can push it to 2 stars.... but Im being nice.
I am a long time member of Gaithersburg Golds Gym & have been somewhat satisfied with this gym. However, over the last year or so this gym seems unable to find & hang on to good General Managers, & as so I have never before been so appalled & disgusted with the down right most FILTHY conditions of the ladies shower stalls!I just took the attached pictures of every shower stall of the ladies locker room! As you note by their most filthy conditions, I have no doubt that if this Gym were to be inspected by the Health Department, they would promptly closed it down! I tried to write to this Gyms current Assistant GM, Daniel Tsai, & also the GM, Mr. Kransnansky ( although I am not sure if he is still working at this Gym) to no avail! I never even received a reply to my emails sent to them attached with these pictures.
Its a very good gym for its location. More of a blue collar type crowd. The equipment and weights are a little old but this is a gym. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. It never really seems to g free t overcrowded. They have that thing where they can give you a full body comprehensive just by having you stand there for a little while. Pretty impressive
Thieves!!!If I could give ZERO stars I would. This gym billed me for over a year AFTER my plan was cancelled. They gave me a song and dance but still HAVE NOT paid me back and AVOIDS my calls AND emails. Join at your own risk. You have been warned.
Their service is not good at all. I was their member and when I ask them I want to cancel my membership they told me to go online . I cancel my membership online and they are now charging me very month twice even though I cancel my membership . I am trying to call them but they are not answering me . I prefer you all to please don’t listen to them and take their membership . They are Liars 😡
Has great variety of equipment. Crowded at times. Dumbells are always mixed up. No pool, no basketball.
This gym is awesome if you are looking for a place that treats you like family, and has a smaller, more personal feel. It is extremely clean, and the ladies who work in the kids’ club are very trustworthy. They really care about the kids and are fantastic with them. When the machines or equipment break, they are quick to fix them or buy new ones. The trainers and staff are super friendly, and never make you feel insecure. They are supportive and helpful. All-in-all, this is my favorite gym of the several that I’ve tried.
Super friendly staff, very clean facilities
Everyone who works at this gym is awesome... just too pricy then any other gym. I go only once or twice a week. Please re-consider the price. At least, check the prices of other gyms and bring down the price. I dont mind paying every month but its still a lot of money for some people.Overall, the staffs are great!!! Thank you for your awesome work guys! I am giving 5-star for the guys who work there not for the PRICE.. If I had the option I would give 1 star for the price...
So happy with Golds Gaithersburg! Clean facility with all the equipment one could need or want. Ive been taking classes with Gwen, Kerri, Bari and Miai (sp?). All are motivating and knowledgeable. Gwens classes (as well as the others) are incredibly fun and make you forget youre actually at the gym working out! I couldnt ask for a better group workout atmosphere. Best of all though is Mel, the Golds personal trainer Ive been working with since October. Shes so sweet, personable and really motivates me with creative and fun workouts! Not sure what Id do without her!
Great overall gym experience.Ryan and the team will help you accomplish your workout goals!
Cancelled subscription over 2 weeks ago and was charged my by weekly sub yesterday. When i called in Payton stated that it takes up to a month to cancel it properly and that i will be charged one more time before it stops. How is this even legal? I will have my lawyers look into this as this is 100% theft. Im basically paying $35 for 1 month AFTER i submitted their cancellation process. This is the damn last straw. I will be having my wife and kids cancel their sub as well as my office where majority of us are subbed there. This is unacceptable!!
I enjoy working out here so far.
Trust the employees and the service is great.
The young light skin lady who works the front desk during the late/closing hours has one of the worse customer service. Whenever I enter or leave the building she doesnt greet or say goodbye/goodnight. She doesnt even make eye contact with me when I scan my card or pass by her. Shes either on her phone, on the computer, or chatting away with someone. I dont know whats her deal, but it definitely makes it for a bad experience.
To start great staff!! Very nice and friendly, love using the boxing room, excellent equipment and pretty well kept. Never super crowded, always can find something to be doing
The gym is always full. Machines and racks are all occupied. As a college athlete, I know my way around a gym, yet on numerous occasions men decided that they needed to help me with my form or spot me, regardless of me requesting them not to.I sent 3 emails to find out how to cancel my membership before heading back to school, but received no responses. My account was billed for another month, so I sent another email. I got a response saying that there was nothing they could do (go figure, AFTER I was charged again). The customer service from those at the front desk was poor every time I was there. If you are a female please consider my review before joining this gym. It was the main reason that I did not use the gym.
Great gym to get buff. A very straight to the point gym. No fancy swimming pool no expensive basketball court. Just gym equipment and results amazing gym.
The staff and instructors are excellent, friendly, and helpful, but it is a bit packed with equipment.
The place is always clean, they have lots of free weights, a variety of machines and a wide range of classes for all fitness
Shawn Jung is an excellent personal trainer! I suggest anyone who wants to transform their body to obtain his knowledge. Golds Gym, AirPark is so lucky to have him.
All employees are very polite.Ryan Prather the manager is an awesome trainer and very knowledgeable. The place is clean.Lots of machines and exercise equipments. I highly recommend.Thank you guys.
This gym is very overpriced for what you’re getting at this location. They have nice people that work there, but you can pay much less for another gym (a bit further away depending on your location) and get a larger gym and WAY more equipment and luxury. It’s disappointing that they charge as much as they do because they know people will pay bc of the location (only gym close to people off of woodfield rd) if you want to pay more & drive less if you’re close by, then eh, good enough.
Certain machines have been broken and out of service for over 2 months now. Yesterday I counted 6 out of order signs from one spot. Definitely not worth the amount of money we pay BI-weekly....
Nice gym, the staff is friendly and for the most part, the equipment is maintained well. It’s too bad they retired the boxing area (where the punching bags are), I would like for them to bring it back.
I signed up for a month to month but after using the facility I wanted to cancel it. I was aware I can cancel it within 24 hours. I called within 24 hours and was told I can cancel but their system is down. Later after keep calling I was told it is cancelled but I did not get my money back. 4 days went by and still did not get it. I called my credit card to take care of it. Make sure not to sign up for a yearly contract because I can imagine that would be much more difficult... They gym is ok and has cool equiptment...
Staff are very friendly. Amenities arent up to par with other Golds Gyms that Ive been to. Some of the equipment is a little dated. With all of that said, its not a bad gym.
This place is an old converted air hangar so it has really high ceilings which I like. There is tons of equipment so even when its busy theres always something available to work out on. Most importantly the staff are all super friendly and helpful.
Lacking space and a few power lifting accessories, in my opinion. But they are very accommodating, for all manner of athletes and casual gym goers
Very poor Customer Care, they dont appreciate to get new members Tony (General Manager) rude. The worst experience that I ever had when I decided to enroll in this Gym location. I wouldnt recommend this gym at all.
This gym is superb! The restrooms and locker rooms are always kept clean. Equipment is always well maintained and the personel are very knowledgeable. A wonderful “welcome “ or “nice goodbye “ from Amber at the front desk. The manager Steve is usually always available but if he’s out on floor helping someone, then the assistant manager Andrea does know it all to help, answer questions or to assist. By far this is the cleanest, best maintained and friendliest gym around! As far as personal trainers, Madi, Ryan, Zach, Gabriel .. FTW. Love it at Golds Gym Airpark.
This place was subpar to begin with. Free weights arent given enough room. A single rowing machine and now theyve set up a large room in the only space available for functional fitness. Its for a BS new age fat measuring device that they can charge for. I know Im fat, thats why Im at the gym. I need space to work out, not a machine to tell me what I already know. Ill probably be cancelling my membership.
The best gym there is. The staff in the evening are the best.
Where to start?! Working out, running, classes they offer (zumba to yoga) Im addicted to golds, their smiling staff and of course the endorphins after a good run! Since starting my routine at golds Ive met great trainers whove given achivable advice, lost 25lbs and feel motivated to keep working on myself! Its great golds lets you visit any golds location and has family/group discounts. I couldnt point one negative thing about any of their locations. Woodfield-montrose-congressional
I had joined Golds Gym Gaithersburg Airport about four (4) years ago. I had three basic reasons for joining:1. The close proximity of Airpark Golds Gym to my residence.2. Excellent Life Fitness Elliptical Equipment.3. Individual TV monitors were present on the Ellipticals and treadmills.I was extremely unhappy with managements outrageous decision to swap out the Life Fitness Elliptical Machines (with cable monitors) for the terrible Precor products now present in their place. These substandard machines that I “attempted” to use on November 9, 2018, have no video monitors on them. (They are in my judgment substandard to the Life Fitness machines). When exchanging emails with both Manager Steven W. Hargis and District Manager Jay Graves I was given lame excuses for the substitution of inferior equipment the total lack of customer service in handling this overnight switch of equipment without notice. In what I deem as their breach of contract in providing me with the inferior Precor junk equipment without notice. All they both appeared to be interested in was enforcing the contract that they violated in charging me an extra month of membership. A month of membership with equipment that was intolerable. I ended up joining another fitness center a little further in distance from where I live. They dont require a contract and they are 76% cheaper. In addition my new and clearly enlightened new fitness center has the superior equipment and where Golds only had 5 ellipticals, they have 20 ellipticals. No wait for available machines and no rip off of the customers. They have many more treadmills than Golds and apparently have an infinitely more customer oriented management. AND no Golds Gym management credo of a take it or leave it attitude!! I would suggest that if you are considering a fitness center, I would suggest you run not walk from Golds Gym.
Its great!!
Love the spinning and group classes ! Plenty to keep me busy. Always friendly staff.
Decent equipment. ... plenty of classes.... locker rooms reasonably clean...
Well equipped gym.
Overcrowded, often unclean, poorly maintained, temperature not controlled, often too humid, equipment in too small of a space, comments / suggestions unheeded by management, and the list goes on...On the upside, many (but not all) of the staff are pleasant and helpful.Other gym chains where I have held memberships seem to be operated with much more care, even some other Golds locations Ive visited in MoCo seem to be better managed. The ONLY reason why I attend this gym is location, and I question the decision regularly.UPDATE: After being a member since 2002, I gladly cancelled membership. First, I tried three times to put membership on hold status, but, as is often the case with Golds, it didnt work, and when I called Airpark location, the kid at the front desk was unable to help, so I just terminated membership instead. I found that LA Fitness is much better at only $29/mo., and Life Time Fitness is hands-down the best, although for $90/mo.
Nice clean gym. Usually not too crowded.
Its too small. Theres only one arrogant staff member there as well. Everything is cool, its just too small
Equipment is in good condition staff is nice, steam room works sometimes
Great place to work out offers classes, weights, and cardio equipment
Convenient place to work out and keep you fit and healthy
They have 3 squat racks/ cages. One of them is a platform. They have a lot of different variations of bars: trap bar, thick grip, womens, etc. They have enough cardio machines but not so much that it dominates and everything else is limited. There is a small area for floor based exercises. They have plenty of kettlebells and bands and rollers. If you are looking for a place that can provide more than just dumbells and cardio this is it.
Very good place to come to workout.
Friendly staff and great personal training department.
Earl bird gym rat, not crowded during tha time. Pick ups around 3-4 so expect it to be crowded during that time
Good work out location
Good to workout and meet new people.
Got sick all the time. Poor circulation.Gym memberships are a scam.
Great place to work out
Agree, poor circulation. After a few times of going there in a week I would always end up sick. Also, people dont wipe the equipment off after using it. There are NO signs that say Wipe the equipment off after use!)
No pool but I shall return
Great gym atmosphere
Too many people not enough space
Nice place
My favorite gym
