So… I kind of came here on a whim and they were absolutely excellent at fitting me in. Rosie, my nail tech, gave me the most beautiful nails I’ve ever had! If you ever go to salon places they always make some nail crooked but nope! It looks amazing! I also got a pedicure as well. Thank you for my experience!

I live in a different state due to my spouse being in the military, but when I’m home, this is THE BEST place in Gainesville to get my nails done. Definitely worth the wait (when there’s any), time, and my money. I also love the fact that my nail tech always remember me, doesn’t matter how long it’s been since I’ve been there.I’ve included a few pictures of times I’ve got my mani/pedi here while in town. It’s my preference to keep my natural nails short. So this is the end result. 😊

Great place. Such a nice treatment. I received both a pedi and mani with a fill, and gel. Extremely impressed. This place is non stop busy but the lady that I had was beyond detailed and did an impeccable job.

I got my nails painted on two separate occasions. Once with gel polish and once with regular polish. The gel polish came off within 2 days of me getting my nails done. I thought this could have been due to me using my hands a lot so when I went back again I didn’t get a manicure. I got a pedicure with regular nail polish. The nail polish on my toes came off within a week. I always get pedicures so I know they have to be using watered down nail polish for my toes to mess up this quickly. My daughter got acrylic nails, and her nails were beautiful, and lasted a long time. I will not be going back to this salon again, but I would take my daughter for acrylics. Would not recommend if you are planning to get your own nails painted, but would recommend for acrylic nails.

Such nice people. They do everything to get you in as soon as possible. They try their best to please you. If you see something, tell them they will fix it. I recommend Nail 1st in Oaks Mall.

Ive been to this nail salon a few times and every time has been okay except for this last time. The lady that did my nails was very rude and kept turning my hand when it wouldnt turn anymore. She also kept complaining to me that I was making it hard for her to do my nails. I have no idea how as I have never had a nail tech complain about this. Very unprofessional. I could tell she was annoyed and over doing my nails because of the terrible job she did. Very unprofessional.

Best pedicure Ive ever had. Van was so gentle and thorough. No ripping my cuticles or being rough with my feet. I will definitely recommend and return.

I went to this place last week and my nails were inflamed, they were red, swollen and sensitive. I went back to the salon today to let them know that something was wrong and they kept telling that my skin is too sensitive. I was in a lot of nail salons and I did a lot of manicure and pedicures and nothing even similar happened . Either they cut it too short or what they used were not cleaned. I have attached a photo of my nails. This is a week after I had pedicure in Nail First Salon. Forgot to mention that they were so rude. My friend also was with me and doing manicure and pedicure for first time. They treated her very bad by pulling her hand and shouting at her. We both were very disappointed.

Tina did my gel nails from here and she is the best. My nails have never looked this good I get compliments on them all the time! Even after a week they look like I just got them done.

I am a frequent customer of this establishment, and when the manager does my nails, they are pristine and perfect, but when anyone else does them, they are TERRIBLE. My last visit, my nails looked awful. I got a white tip set, and you could see the glue rigjt through the nails....they charged me FORTY dollars for this. As I didnt want to cause a scene, i paid for them and left. I suppose i will end up going to another shop for my next visit and any future nail work, Im going to have to just have these filled and gel painted over, instead of being able to keep my french tip, since they look like straight poo.

Do not go there unless you have an appointment with Kevin. Every time I’ve taken a leap of faith and tried someone else, I’ve walked out super unhappy. Everyone else doesn’t listen to what you want and doesn’t do a good job doing whatever they try on you. I got a dip today and it came out so lumpy, and none of my nails are the same shape. I asked her if she was going to give me a clear coat at the end and try to smooth everything over and she just kept repeating “next time just make an appointment with Kevin”...worst experience ever and she charged me more than what I usually pay, for probably the worst nails I’ve received. My whole left hand nails are larger and longer than my right hand nails.. do not recommend going there unless it’s with Kevin, he’s a 5 star

I had to put a picture of my nails earlier to show you how terrible their service was! Their pedicure spa was super super dirty. They used unwashed towels for my feet that were used multiple times earlier for others’ feet, bathtub, and even shoes!!! The lady who offered me the nail services was very tired. She offered me a service for $50 and told me that unlike their other services, that one wouldn’t hurt my nails. Her work was like putting fake nails on my hands, even much more fake and messed up. The nails were such uneven than my sister thought I have put pistachio on my nails! I was super dissatisfied of their service. They even charged me for $100 instead of $75!! Just forgot to mention that they have very limited nail arts and nail polish colors. Try somewhere else because you will get the worst service for the highest price!!

The salon is suggesting, but not requiring its patrons to wear masks. The technicians are wearing masks, but what about the health of the technicians and fellow patrons? It certainly felt as the owners have put $ in front of the well being of its employees.

I had a full set with regular nail polish done. It came out beautifully! I think Ken was my nail tech. I give his skills 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟4 stars overall because customer service could have been better.

The worst nail salon i have been to in gainesville. i got a dip manicure and had an appointment and was left sitting for over 50 minutes because they kept putting people before me who most likely didnt have appointments. then they charged me $40 for the dip manicure plus another $10 for a two-second manicure which was just to clean the cuticles up....so i basically paid $50 for something that should is included everywhere else after getting terrible service....not to mention the lady that did my nails made them all lumpy looking. will NEVER go back to this horrible nail salon!

I always read reviews for everything, but as always, you will always see bad ones mixed in. When I first went in, it was super packed and I thought to myself that I was going to be in there forever just for gel nails (previous experience). I mean every seat was basically taken, but no, I only had to wait less than 6 minutes and they had me in and out. I also saw that they make sure you get what you asked for and that everything stays looking good. Besides that, these people have the best, most durable gel nails I’ve ever encountered. Most would peel off after the 5th day, but it’s been a week now and they still look fresh and in shape. And let’s not forget to mention the great pricing! I love it and they will continue having business with me. 😊

The people are always nice, I went there when I came home for christmas break from Alabama and got Gel and it lasted about three weeks! Wasnt charged an outrageous price for it either. Went back when I came home for summer and got a Pink and White set, as well as a pedicure. Its going on two and a half weeks and my nail polish on my toes hasnt even chipped and my set hasnt come off or lifted. Great service every time I go. Pricey, but if youre a student they give 10% off which is helpful for me!

I love going here. They cost me $30 for a full set and in my experience thats very cheap. Ive had pleasant visits every time Ive gone. They are a personal favorite to go to.

Took my mom here for a birthday pedicure. The girls were very nice to my mom. They have a good selection of polishes and did a great job!

Worst manager/owner who’s deceptive and unprofessional. His name is Ken.I had extremely bad experience there- my tech was telling her colleague how much she hated her job there the whole time she was doing my nails. Of course she did a terrible job.I talked with the manager/owner Ken when the nails were “done”, and he asked me to pay first then he would fix my nails. Ken gave me a business card with his name on it and asked me to make an appointment with him for a “free” fix. I called and made the appointment. After I made all the way to the mall just for the appointment, Ken told me he would give me 20% off for the fix.I’m never going back there to waste my time and money. You shouldn’t either.

I went to this place last month had dip done. Was given a lady that has NEVER done dip! She literally told me that I was her first customer. Some nails looked good some did not. Was charged full price!!! They broke within 2 weeks. I decided to give them a second chance, and boy was I wrong. Had a different nail tech do my nails and again I got dip and by the 4th day my thumb nail had chipped. I’ve been doing dip for 2 years and never had this happen. Would not recommended!!!!!!

Second time they have put me off asking if I can come back hours later. Is this because I am in a wheelchair? The girl said that they have 2 appointments coming in. Ummm.....there are 8 chairs! Her response Well, all those people are getting multiple things done. Really? All of those seats are going to be filled for the next 2 hours?? Rude people. I guess I will take my business and my tips somewhere else. Will be sure to let people I know of their obvious discrimination.

Terrible 1st experience at Nails 1st. 1st off we made an appointment for 3 people and had to wait over a half hour after our appointment time because they were busy and essentially just put us in line with everyone else when we arrived. What’s the point of an appointment? The nail tech was incredibly rough throughout the whole service and botched my gel manicure. When i pointed out to her that there was a large bubble in the paint on one of my nails she said that it was because my “nail is high and that wasn’t her fault”. There is no abnormality in the shape of my nail she just didn’t pay attention to what she was doing. Within 72 hours of my manicure, the gels were already lifting off my nail. Complete waste of time and money.

Honestly, they have done the best work Ive found in Gainesville. Ive gone 4 or 5 times and They have always done a good job and been decently friendly. I went to a high end salon and had my nails ruined and I came here to have them fixed. Half the price for twice the quality. If youre not looking for the insane luxury spa experience this is the place for you. Ask for Kim or Cindy. Both ladies do good work.

Receptionist is so rude. Told me the wait was 25 minutes and after 45 min I asked to see how much longer and she just said I cant rush them. Then dont tell me the wait is 25 minutes. The people that actually do nails are extremely sweet, but because of the rude receptionist I took my business else where. I do not recommend.

I wwnt their twice...only good point is that there wasnt a long wait...I paid 40$ for a fill, they never ask what shape you want I told them in between so they dont just do the same thing as before..Also when I first walked in I asked if they do gel or acrylic, girl at the counter said they do both. After filing my nails and all she took out the pulver and I said I wanted gel...she didnt even know what that was for nails and said they only had that. So I just got it...after two weeks nearly all my nails were either lifted or even completely off...

If I could give zero stars I would! WORST experience of my life! I was cut several times and the nails they did look like a ten year old did them! I will never go back or recommend them to anyone. I had to get them fixed by another salon.

Honestly, if I could rate this place no stars I would. My nail tech Ann or Thy Nyguyen was very rude to me. I told her that at my other nail salon I didnt have to pay an extra $5 fee for a different nail shape for my acrylics and that I would just go with the nail shape that wasnt an extra fee. At the end of her finishing my nails she basically told me to go to the other nail salon since they dont have an extra fee for the shape and that I shouldnt come back. Dont worry I will not be coming back and I will be telling all of my friends not to come here. Oh, and when I got home I shaped my nails the way I wanted to for free and they look great. xoxo

Worst place I’ve ever went to. Literally my nails came off within a week of having them. They didn’t match the shape I wanted at all and the lady that did my nails made my nails different sizes and different shapes. So I will never be going to this place again.

They had a very unique way of taking gel polish off thats more time consuming but get the job done. A classic pedicure does not include any water.

Went to get my nails taken off they immediately wanted to pull them off like they normally do which is not good for your nail bed. Anyways they started soaking them off and using the drill the girl who I guess was new drilled my skin and still put my fingers in the acetone cut and bleeding! I couldn’t even get my nails done, I’m never going there ever again! And they still charged me!

The only lady that can get you out of there happy is Anne. make sure to schedule an appointment with her.

Ive been coming here every few months, this is the first time ive been treated so poorly! the one that did my nails kept pulling my hands like im a toddler! i get it, im not an expert, but isnt that the reason why i go to a nail salon? i told her to be gentler and nicer and just told me whatever? like seriously? ive been a nurse for years so i know how important it is to treat people nicely! i wanted to talk to a manager but ill just let it go. i have better things to do than worry about rude employees. for this experience, im never coming back to this place ever again.

Ill be honest, my experience here was just weird. The receptionist is incredibly rude- theres just no need for the attitude. Shes rude when you call to make an appointment, rude when you check in, rude to other customers as they come in, and rude when you check out. The salon appears to be clean at first glance but once I sat down in the chairs and was mid way through my pedi, I started to realize some concerning practices. The tools used for my pedi were removed from a container (a similar one was at each pedi chair) and were not wrapped up as they typically are after being sanitized. At the end of my pedi, to my horror- these tools were rinsed off in the same tub where my feet previously soaked and returned back to the same tub. The tub was sprayed down while I was still sitting there and the tech had her hand leaning on my legs as leverage while she cleaned- the experience was super odd and uncomfortable. My pedi looked okay enough when I left but began chipping less than a week later (Ive gotten pedis before that stay in tact for weeks). My experience for my manicure was a lot better. The technician who worked on my nails was really nice and did a good job of listening to length and style I wanted for my acrylic nails. I did feel like she buffed out the acrylic too much around my nail bed essentially making the nails grow out more quickly than normal. When I left the salon and examined my nails later I did notice the gel was poorly painted and you can see spots of nude nail around the edges of my nails. All an all, I would not return. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and the services left a lot to be desired.

They got gel all over my cuticle and finger tips. This was a waste of $30 its going to peel in no time and my nails look awful. Never again.

Horrible Service!The receptionist was extremely rude!I scheduled an apt for 6:30 and didnt leave until it was closing time. There were people there who came in as walk ins and left faster than I did.The receptionist started on my nails and took over an hour and a half just to fill them in and shape them because he was taking other customers, running the front desk, and going outside to make personal phone calls and this was all before he passed me off to some one else. Once he passed me off to the next available tech she began to polish my nails with the color that I selected but neglected to inform that color was NO GOOD and caught an attitude when I suggested she take it off. She took forever and a day to my feet and to top it off the shop is just completely unsanitary . I have yet to witness any tech thoroughly clean the foot tubs after they have dug and scraped GOD knows what out of other clients feet. I thought I would give them a second chance but when I called today to schedule an apt AGAIN the receptionist was Hella rude and had a tone in her voice as if I was inconveniencing her by trying to make an apt.They do OK nails but I will take my services and money back to modern day salon, who might I add isnt really good either! I miss my nail tech in Miami but I digress ......
