This place is a gem! I always told people that I had a black thumb because I was too scared to give plant parenthood a try. I came into Plantstay for the first time in October 2020 at a point when I was really struggling with my mental health. I had recently moved to a new place, and a friend told me that I should get a plant. I got one just to see how it would go, assuming I would kill it within a few weeks. Spoiler alert: hes thriving, and I now have 66 plants (and counting!), the vast majority of which come from the amazing folks at Plantstay. I can honestly say that I dont think I ever would have fallen in love with plants without Plantstay. The ambience is peaceful, inviting, and just my ultimate happy place. Bren, Kayli, and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They cater to all levels of plant expertise, so whether you are a first-time plant parent or youre ready for more of a challenge (be sure to check out their rare plant cabinet in the back for some extra fun), they will definitely have something for you. They also have an amazing selection of planters and others items, including many from local artists. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Best local plant shop in the area by far! They always have a great selection, both of easy care, relatively inexpensive plants, as well as more hard to find wishlist plants! The staff is super knowledgeable and will provide you with care tips and help if your plant isn’t doing so well. Ive bought so many plants from here over the last year and all are doing amazing. Stop by on Fridays (restock day) for the biggest selection and unique varieties!

Plantstay is an awesome local house plant business. They’ve got an excellent selection of house plants ranging from small succulents to huge monstera plants. And their staff is kind and knowledgeable and will help you find the right plant for your skill level and desires. They also have an eclectic and fun selection of pots, baskets, and plant stands as well as macrame plant hangers, hanging pots, and even some house plant inspired fashions. It’s always a treat going to Plantstay! They offer classes on plant propagation, becoming a new plant parent/recovering plant murderer, and building plant terrariums. These classes are so fun! Prepare for a house plant addiction 😉

Ive bee following them since before they even opened a physical shop if that tells you just how great they are. the workers are always so nice and you always know your getting a quality healthy plant when you buy from them. So glad Gainesville now has a dedicated house plant shop! It was very needed! They had a wide selection and some more “rare” plants than other nurseries in Gainesville have. Prices are decent but you can tell the plants are very well looked after and raised w love!

Youll be drawn in and find yourself staying much longer than you intended. The owner makes such an effort to build a community and to help people discover the joys of houseplants. When I got to Sandy’s this afternoon, Bren and her family were so helpful and knowledgeable, I was able to pick out a nice size plant for my parents and smaller size plants for myself. This shop is absolutely adorable, from the minute you walk up to it to the minute you leave it you feel warm and welcomed. The arrangement of all the decor and plants is phenomenal! The plant selection is out of this world, the prices are beyond fair! Why go to a big box store when you can support local and know your getting products that care cared for as thoroughly as these were! The knowledge the staff carry’s as well is a 10! I had such a great experience at Plantstay! As someone who didnt know much about plants and how to properly care for them, I wasnt sure if Id ever become a plant mom. The staff at Plantstay were so kind and knowledgeable (shoutout to Jillian!). They helped me find the perfect plant and gave me all the information and tips Id need to take care of my ficus. Im proud to say that shes still alive and thriving! This is a great place to go if you dont know much about plants but are eager to learn :)

PlantStay has quickly become one of my favorite places. I’ve done all of the classes... some twice... and filled my home with plants and succulents alike. Bren & her staff are patient and informative for even the newest of plant parents! When I first discovered PlantStay, I had about 90% succulents and was hesitant to get into any plant that needed me to not ignore it. It was the propagation class that made me interested and more confident in taking on more traditional (and now rare) houseplants. Bren makes learning about plants fun & takes the intimidation down enough notches that even a reformed plant killer like myself can now confidently keep my plants alive. And she’s accessible when I have a struggling plant and need advice! She is great about knowing what to recommend and what I should stay away. While I still have plenty to learn and plants on my wish list, I trust Bren to guide me through the journey. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Get a plant, sign up for a class and feel free to blame me & this review when you become completely addicted to this wonderful, magical utopia! See ya there!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I visited Plantstay for the first time. Their plants are stunning, they have a wonderful selection of local pottery, the soil bar - its a great place for plant parents new and old. Also, the owner, Bren, is SO knowledgeable about plants.
