My children began Jiu Jitsu at Rockstar as a way to get some energy out of their little bodies. Based on how much they enjoyed the classes, I decided to join the evening Muay Thai Kickboxing classes. I decided to write this review because Rockstar North Frisco has really changed my family dynamic. I think we all allow daily stressors to negatively impact our family life, and it doesnt have to be that way. I am a working mom who deals with adult children daily at work, and I know my daughter can deal with a mean little girl or two at school. Rockstar has given us a way to get rid of the negativity in a positive way. We come home happier, and we even installed a punching bag at home. One morning, my daughter even snuck into the workout room, and I found her kicking up a storm. After she was done and sweaty, she said, Mommy, I feel better now. Seeing her smile and exercising while getting rid of bad energy just made me happier. The people who run Rockstar are the Rockstars themselves. Thank you to them for allowing us this opportunity.

Our family loves Rockstar! Our son has been going for about a year and truly enjoys the class. While he is still young and can get distracted in class he is still learning and getting stronger! We love both his coaches Coach Mike and Coach Mattias (my apologies if I misspelled those names). We appreciate how patient and strict they can be with our little man. We look forward to many more years of Rockstar and seeing our sons improvement and advancement. Thank you Coaches you guys are wonderful - we hope you stay with Rockstar forever! Since we enrolled Ryan in jijitsu, his discipline and confidence as well as performance in other sports have significantly improved. The team is fantastic; they’re so patient with kids and teach technical skills in a way that the kids can really understand. When he doesn’t have class, he’s always eager to practice his routines! The kids in his class are also amazing and he’s making wonderful friendships along the way. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll him at Rockstar!

Best place for good quality training! The coaches truly care for each individual and takes time going over technique thoroughly. Everyone supports each other and you gain a lot of confidence in the process!

Rockstar Martial Arts has been such a great experience for my 13 year old daughter. She learned a lot in a very short time. Her coach (Matheus) is supportive and encouraging and really breaks things down in a way she can understand them. I highly recommend their jujitsu classes for all kids and teens. It’s just an added level of reassurance that my daughter will be safe as she goes out into the world more.

We were members for 2 years, but they ended up robbing us over $1,000 and refusing to repay it. During COVID they agreed to pause our membership during quarantine, but they kept accidently charging us each month and then each month we would call them they said they would credit it for our return. They over-charged us 5 months ($800) and then when we returned, they told us we had to pay monthly for a full year before they would let us use the $800 credit where they had over-charged us. Then, the ownership changed and the new manager not only charged us an extra month after we cancelled our membership for medical purposes (with Doctor note/orders), but she refused to pay back the month she overcharged us after cancellation AND told us the $800 they owed us was the problem of the previous management and we could try to find them and get our money back. We walked away losing $1,000 and feeling like it was a scam all along. DO NOT GO HERE!

Me and my 4 y.o. son attend this school, and could not be happier with the discpline and skills we gain every week through the classes. We are BJJ practioners now and forever! Thank you and we love youRockStar!

I just participated in a trial class and I loved every minute of it. The staff and other students treated me like I was already a member of their team, and worked with me to refresh and develop my BJJ skills. The couch was attentive and clear with instructions. I understood what I needed to be working on at all times. During drills, he was walking the floor watching each pair and giving guidance on form and technique. 100% would recommend if you are considering joining a martial arts gym.

We absolutely love Rockstar North Frisco. Coach Rodrigo is extremely patient with the younger kiddos and motivates them to be better. We couldn’t ask for a better coach and we’re excited to continue seeing growth in our 5 year old son, Jaden 💙

My wife and I tried the free class the other day. Unfortunately the Covid situation has our household worried so we had to hold off on making our visits full time. That said, the class was AWESOME. They teach more than self defense, but they teach kids things that will make them successful in every area of life. My son was directed to RockStar by another martial arts instructor, who promised us we would be pleased by the quality of the instruction and the culture of the school. That recommendation was spot on. Students come, they work very hard, and they learn, but always in a cheerful, energetic, supportive environment that emphasizes character, not just learning the skills. I watched my son flourish and grow in his confidence under the teaching at RockStar. They really seem to have a knack for hiring really exceptional people. My son received lots of personal attention and encouragement from all the coaches. You really feel like youre joining a family, not just a school. I could not recommend RockStar more highly!

I personally do not have an experience with this establishment but a friend of mine, Sue and her family go there. Sue has told me what a difference it has made in their lives. We enrolled both our boys prior to the summer so they may engage in an active indoor activity. Our expectations were high having participated in other local martial arts programs.After 3 months, we are delighted with both our sons’ progress with the training they’ve received. Each class was well organized consisting of cardio exercises, martial arts techniques, and teachings to respect and support each other. This is a well-run organization with caring instructors who mentor each student at the individual level. We are pleased to be a part of this program which has certainly exceeded our expectations. Needless to say, we would highly recommend.

After 3 years with this gym, I really can’t convey my disappointment in the way that this business is operated by the owners.Like another customer in these reviews, we’ve experienced some rather harsh treatment around their billing practices.I could see that my three boys were needing a break. I really didn’t want them to burn out and start to hate martial arts. So I asked for a suspension on the dues so that the boys could come back in the Summer and was told that the vendor that runs their billing would not work with them on this. I find it hard to believe that a merchant can’t control their billing company.Long story short, they immediately went into hardball mode and sold my account to a credit collector and now we’re experiencing all the fun that goes along with that; including demands of payment on the full amount. (I have perfect credit, for what it’s worth).We were among the most effort-free customers for them, in that we paid on-time, complained about nothing, and participated regularly. Personally, I cannot understand why a business would want to permanently end a customer relationship like that, when only a small accommodation was being requested, and for the benefit of 3 children under the age of 10.All that you’ve heard or read about the attitude and conduct of the owners is true. Honestly, we only tolerated them because our boys absolutely adore Coach Cody.If you’re searching for a martial arts gym, I advise that you find another.Former Customer/AdvocatePS: I hope Coach Cody opens his own gym, we would gladly work with him again.

My 5yo son has been going here for about 6 months and he loves it. They are very good at what they do. We used to attend a different martial arts class but my son was bored. We tried a free class here and have been here ever since. I have no doubt my son can handle himself if faced in some type of bully situation. No offense to the other martial arts class either but I know that the skills taught here will be a lot more useful. Coach Cody is great with the kids. He is awesome. That shows how disciplined the kids are, to instruct a room full of kids with a single instructor. especially on a Saturday. We joined Rockstar in February of 2017 because we wanted our 8 year old daughter to learn how to be confident in herself. She was timid in the beginning, but within a few weeks she was right at home. We started our oldest son here at Rockstar back in 2016. Coach Cody reached our son and brought effort out of him and encouraged him to work hard and it helped him improve in so many ways. Having attention issues we werent sure but after a few months changes were seen. Our youngest watched and at 2 years old was already showing signs he wanted to participate. At the beginning of 2017 my husband and I decided to give it a try as well. Shiva and Coach Boecker had us hooked after the first class. Training here at Rockstar has definitely been an opportunity we were glad we took. They are like extended family. They care and want you truly to succeed. My family has had an outstanding experience at Rockstar Martial Arts and Fitness. I enrolled my daughters last year as a way to get them to be more active. The instructors are super friendly and patient. Since they started last year, not only have my girls mastered key martial arts techniques, they also have had a noticeable increase in their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect. I have also noticed an increase in the level of focus, determination, and self-discipline that has carried on outside of class and into school and home. I also started taking kick-boxing classes at Rockstar a few months ago and absolutely love it. Signed my daughter up because she wanted to try it out. Coaches are encouraging, patient, but also make sure she pays attention. I like that they encourage her to get out of her comfort zone and teach her that its a positive thing. Parents can tell their kids this all day long, but sometimes it takes an unbiased third party to convince them their parents sometimes know what were talking about. BULLYING? NOT ANYMORE! My wife and I enrolled our 11 year old daughter and 8 year old son at Rockstar Martial Arts after our son was bullied by some 10 year old kids. Our goal was to find a way for him to simply protect himself if/when this happened in the future. Hes getting that and SO MUCH MORE. Not only are the amazing coaches teaching them to defend themselves when bullied, they are teaching them clear communication skills to those who would bully them and how to properly alert authority figures. The self confidence theyve both gained in just over 3 months is amazing. Weve seen a big leap in our sons leadership mentality and now instead of being picked on he actually stood up for a smaller boy in his class who was being picked on by a much bigger kid as reported by his teacher.Coach Cody has spoken to us on on one and texted us multiple times to ensure they are meeting all of our needs and Coach Somalia has called me to get to know us better as a family and ask how they could help us in other areas such as emphasizing the importance of working hard in school and around the house.If youre on the fence about whether or not to sign up your child for martial arts take my advice and at least stop by this place to see how they communicate with the kids and parents and let your child take the free introductory class. Its not a sell-job and there wasnt any pressure for us to sign up. We just had a gut feeling and we were right.If you need further convincing, our family lives, eats, and breathes football and Ive actually suggested multiple times he stop playing in his select football league for a while to free up more time for classes.

Rockstar Martial Arts is awesome! I have been going to Rockfit for a couple months and am truly addicted! I can see my body and fitness level transforming! Perfect gym for anyone in the Frisco area, great environment and run by even better people. My home gym is in Southlake but I’m here every week and this gym is as legit as they come. Huge wide open mat space, excellent coaching and an EXTREMELY clean facility. Come try a class for yourself or your little ones and I promise you won’t regret it!

An amazing place with absolutely amazing people. My son just loves to go for Karate almost everyday. According to him, this year he had the best birthday party ever and I agree with him because I didnt have to bother about anything at all. Our son is currently enrolled with the Rockstar team. Our daughter will be joining him this week. We are extremely pleased with the life lessons taught and the physical capabilities developed so far. I dont even know where to begin!Rockstar Martial Arts has been the greatest gift to our entire family. From the beginning, we were immediately struck by the genuine caring Coach Cody & Miss. Shiva (as my kiddos call her) had in learning what we hoped to achieve from the program. After our trial class, we were hooked.Coaches at Rockstar are enthusiastic, energetic and truly believe in the capabilities of each individual. Coach Cody, in particular, is great with the little ones (our daughter is 4, and very rambunctious). He is SO patient! I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have left class saying, I dont know how he does it!” LOL- It is so obvious that he loves working with these kids- and the kids love working with him. There are some classes, I think my daughter laughs and smiles, all the way through!Since starting at Rockstar Martial Arts, our daughter has also begun to change- right before our eyes... Where small tantrums were once a daily occurrence, we are now seeing a child that is taking direction and listening for answers. She talks daily, about being “respectable” (respectful) and earning her “straps” (belt stripes- incentives for the kids). She talks about making her Coach proud, as she’s taking her dishes to the sink and picks up her toys without fuss. It is with awe that we are watching her develop into an exceptional young lady. “It takes a Village, to raise a child,” :) and our Village, now includes Rockstar Martial Arts.

My 7 year old son LOVES Rockstar Martial Arts! They are wonderful with kids of all ages and they make sure that the kids have a wonderful time. They also teach them in such a way that they are having fun but also learning at the same time.We had gone previously to a different Martial Arts and my son hated it. The lessons are very structured and my son gets a real workout from each lesson. We visited different martial arts places in the area. Rockstar was the most structured and organized and the nicest environment. My daughter and I even attended a ladies self-defense class at Rockstar and we loved it! I also like the stripe system they do for the students for each belt graduation. It helps the students work on things at school and at home as well as their skills in the class. The owner, Shiva, is very involved, approachable and so nice to work with. I highly recommend Rockstar to anyone interested in the martial arts.

Where to start! I cannot say enough positive things about Rockstar. My daughter has been attending Rockstar for a little over 4 months now, and I have noticed huge changes for the better. She takes a great amount of initiative, and is a a huge helper back at home. She takes care of her little brother, and attends to any of his needs. Rockstar has really improved her confidence, and leadership. Everything has been a huge success. Thank you coach Cody, Ms. Shiva, and all of the Rockstar crew, you guys are amazing!

The place is too crowded. I joined my son mainly for learning discipline, respect and improve confidence in him. Initially it was good but now i see so many kids in his class, i am not sure how they are going to teach the above. Its been more than 6 months and I didn’t see any improvement in my son

My son has been attending Rockstar for 2 months. Hes gained a deep appreciation for martial arts and looks forward to attending class. Coach Cody is amazing with the kids. He is patient, knowledgeable, and has a great way of breaking down the techniques for even the younger kids. He makes it fun but also incorporates life lessons into the class.

My son started in Rockstar as an ordinary flat footed kid but 3 years later to our amazement has become a man. Under coach Joes tutelage he has developed his skills at a pace that I never expected. He is more motivated, confident and most of all respectful. As a parent I admit we couldnt have done it alone. Therefore thank you Coach for your guidance. Your old school approach to Muay Thai is effective for ones development. And to Ms. Shiva who is running the show, always transparent and quick to answer our queries, great job!

Rockstar is AMAZING! My son has been a student there for 6 months now, and the changes in him are amazing. He is more confidant and respectful, and is not as shy as he was before. The instructors run a great program that keeps him excited and looking forward to class. I highly recommend Rockstar Martial Arts. I just wish I could give them a higher rating, they totally deserve 10 stars!

Good place to get in an intense workout. I enjoy the jiu jitsu here and its pretty family-friendly as well.

I have been training at Rockstar for a couple of months now. I had no martial arts experience whatsoever. In that short amount of time, I have learned a lot and continue to improve both my technique and conditioning. I credit this mostly to the teachers (Ryan, Josh, and Jarrod) who are very, very patient. They answer every question, offer honest advice, and compliment you when you do well. The environment is fun, the people are great, and I look forward to going to each class. The entire staff has created a positive, fun environment in which to learn.My daughter has been training here for about 5 months. Her teachers, Josh and Jarrod, focus very hard on reminding the kids about the meaning of respect and how to treat others. As with the adult classes, positive encouragement and attitudes are the key focus of the classes. My daughter loves being around Josh and Jarrod, and always talks about them.Try it out!

My experience with Rockstar has been nothing but positive! Im still a newbie to Jiu Jitsu, and I am a very slow learner, but they dont let that get me down! They tell me to take my time, and that everybody learns at their own pace. All of the coaches are super nice and very professional. The owners even check in with you to see how youre doing. Its such a family atmosphere. Im so glad I decided to join!

Coach Cody is great !! He takes his time with the new kids and helps them transition into the class with patience!!

My son has been attending Rock Star for about 6 months. He not only looks forward to going EVERY week but has grown to love the sport. The instructors are outstanding and truly have a heart for the kids. I appreciate the fact that they keep him accountable for his actions at the gym and at home. They also teach valuable life lessons which have been a great reinforcement for us as parents to use at home. While keeping high expectations they also praise him for his actions. They have not only raised his self-confidence but I truly feel like they have prepared him for real-life situations. I cannot recommend Rock Star enough.

Both Coach Cody & Coach Somalia are amazing people. Learning self-defense is important for all kids but these folks go above & beyond in every aspect. Floored by the amount of attention and consideration they give to each and every child.If you are hesitant about any aspect of bringing your child here, just do it and watch what happens. In an age when many kids are being raised with electronic devices and missing out on being taught discipline and respect, your child will be taught these things while building confidence & self-esteem which cannot be learned from any ‘device.’ This place is awesome. Rockstar has been an incredible experience for my son. The emphasis they put on treating others with respect and training young kids to listen and focus is amazing. They get everyone engaged and create a learning environment that makes kids work with one another in order to succeed. Rock Start Martial Arts is the real deal. They have great instructors and are very professional. My 13 year old son has been going here for about 7 months and we have seen TREMENDOUS improvement over the place where he was before. I started my son at Rockstar when he was 3 1/2. I am amazed at how much he has learned in just 6 months! We were looking at several places but chose Rockstar because of their awesome staff!! Coach Cody is great with the kids and really teaches them a strong foundation! Im so excited to see my son continue to grow and improve in his skills. I definitely recommend Rockstar!

My son has been attending for almost a year now. His occupational therapist suggested martial arts as a way to strengthen his body and work on his reflexes. He has greatly benefited from the regular group classes. Josh the main instructor has also given him private lessons to help him with his coordination and training. The staff give a lot of positive reinforcement which help the kids push themselves harder. All in all we highly recommend Rockstar to anyone who want to begin Martial Arts.

Both our kids attend Rock Star Martial arts and my husband I are incredibly pleased with the results. Not only is our 8 year old daughter learning self defense but she has also gained more confidence. Our 6 year old son has also learned self defense but has also gained better listening skills . In the short time we have joined I can definitely see a huge improvement in our kids discipline as well as respect towards others. Mr. Josh and Mr. Jarred are wonderful with the kids and demonstrate incredible patience with each child as everyone is different.

We have nothing but great things to say about Rockstar Martial Arts & Fitness! All of the instructors are very hands on, very attentive and very knowledgeable. You can definitely see that they love what they are doing! Our daughter have worked with every instructors and even though she has only been attending for less than a year, she feels as though she has been there for years! Even in the larger class, you still feel like you are getting the one-on-one training because the instructors are very patient and doesnt give you the you dont belong here type of vibe. Our daughters confidence has gone up since attending Rockstar and her attitude has also changed in a positive way, which helps a lot with the other sports that she is involved in. Rockstar Martial Arts & Fitness is an amazing training facility with something for the entire family. Our two boys (8 and 3) absolutely love going to the instructional classes and RockFit is an awesome workout for the parents. Classes are scheduled at different times throughout week to ensure everyone has a change to maximize their sessions around busy work/life schedules. Its not unusual for us to be at Rockstar 5 days each week!

My son has been attending Rock Star Martial Arts for over two years now and we LOVE it! The training is excellent, the instructors are great and the owners are fantastic. My son is so happy with his progress thus far and so are we. Mr. Josh is a great motivator and my son highly respects the lessons that he learns in class.
