This is the second time I got this companyto repair an appliance. Today I had Charles come to my house to repair my dish washer.He came in and in less than a half hour he fixed the problem. This gentleman can fix anything. If another appliance needs fixing I definitely would call this company and ask for Charles. They are all pleasant on the telephone and call you before the service man is arriving. Thank you all.
Worst service I have received ever . I called for someone to come out to take a look at my fridge and they charge a $95 diagnostic fee and if a repair has to be completed they will include it in the fee . The repair guy came and added Feon to my fridge (which cost $310) and assured me there is no leakage . After 48 hours the fridge is now blowing hot air . I called the company back and the guy basically said “it’s unpredictable and how there’s no way to check for leakage. If it doesn’t work after the feon addition you need a new fridge” . A second guy came back since it’s within their 90 warranty on the 3rd day and let us know that the first guy basically broke our fridge by attaching something wrong to the compressor . We called the company again and they told us there is nothing they can do after THEIR REPAIR GUY BROKE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE . They stole our money and is refusing to issue a refund .
I got this company from American Home Shield.What wonderful people and excellent repair men. Another company sent a workman two times and couldn’t repair my dryer. Action repair came the next day and in a short time my dryer was working. I would never have anyone but Action Repair fix any of my appliances. I just recommended them to my neighbor. Thank you Rick and your men for an excellent job.
Buyer beware. This is the worst repair shop on Long Island. Dont use them. They are only surviving because of American Home Shield, which is another horrible company. They have come to my house twice and both times have not fixed the issue and instead i had to schedule someone else to fix the mess created by Action.On top of it, they are not responsive and rude.They should be banned from doing business on Long Island.
What a scam. Called them because a knob on our stove broke and they said over the phone itll cost about $100 to fix. Even sent them a picture of the problem and they agreed, about $100. They said itll cost $85 to come to our house and that $85 would be applied toward fixing it if we chose to work with them. Told them to come fix it, the second the guy walked into my house he told me itll cost $600 to fix with the original part, $400 to fix with an unoriginal part that would still work. No other options. Told them they lied to us over the phone and they should leave. He said ok no problem give me $85. He was in my house for less than 5 minutes. Already knew exactly what the problem was and lied to me over the phone just so he can get his $85. NEVER AGAIN.
OK… basically if you want to get ripped off call them! My A/C air handler in the attic stopped blowing air. Called them in the morning and they said they would send someone out the same day. Said an estimate would be $89 but would be deducted from the price if the service is done. The service person (Erik; the owner) arrived about 3 hours later; very prompt. This is where the good ends. He looked at the unit and said it needed a 10-microfarad capacitor. Job took literally 10 minutes. He charged me $325 (before taxes)!!!... said labor was $250 and capacitor $75!!! Originally, he was going to charge me $100 for the capacitor but then “discounted” it to $75. I have no issues paying a “fair” markup but the capacitor costs about $2 at a local supply house… but charging someone $75 is price gouging at its finest… that is a markup of about 3,650%!!!!.... you read that right! Also, $250 for 10 minutes of labor… totally unreasonable again. He said it was busy summer season so these are the prices. Enough said, read other reviews (I should have read the reviews myself; my mistake) and make your own educated decision if you want them to provide you service.
I called Action Repair service Inc of Freeport, NY for an issue A/C issue, two very questionable individuals where dispatched that immediately refuse to address the actual issue of no air coming out of one vent, but instead insisted that I purchase 3.5 Lbs. of freon gas from them at $135 per pound. They were extremely rude and aggressive, and they threatened they would not do any other work if I did not spend $405 in freon gas. I refused that service, upon leaving and in a spiteful act, one of their workers drained the freon gas out of my central unit while the other watched. I complained about that act and them not wearing masks as mandated, they were verbally abusive they called me derogatory names, some of them racial and offensive to members of the gay community. One of the individuals tried to physically attack me, I had to call Nassau County Police, which intercepted their van as they were leaving. It turns out that the individuals Action Repair Service Inc sent to my house had a warrant for his arrest. Nassau Police immediately handcuffed him and took him into custody.I called their office, the receptionist (a woman) was extremely rude and unapologetic about sending extortionists to my house, I tried speaking to the owner an individual by the name of Eric Sher to get a refund for services not rendered and restitution for the criminal act of draining the freon out of my A/C unit. He just as rude and abusive as his employees, he told me not to call him and call the office. Action Repair Service Inc. should not be in business there is a tremendous amount of similar negative conduct and they have been allowed and licensed to rip off and take advantage of people in total impunity.
I usually never take the time to give bad reviews to businesses, but this time I believe it is needed. I called Action Repair Service to look at my washer. The technician (Joe) came in and said the problem was the main control board and that it will cost $485 to fix it. As a result, I decided to pay him the $85 for the diagnostic and not do any work. After some additional research, I figured out on my own that the issue was the water intake valve, and not the main control board. After changing the water intake valve, the washer is working perfectly fine now. Action Repair Service gave me the wrong diagnostic and was looking to charge me $485 for it. When I called their office to get a refund, I spoke to Rick, the office manager, who basically said to me that I was paying for the technician coming to my house to give me a diagnostic, regardless of whether it is right or wrong. I believe businesses need to stand behind their work, and that starts by giving the correct diagnostic. This business either doesnt know how to diagnose appliances or they simply tell you something more expensive is wrong to rip you off. Had I decided to do the work, they would have changed the wrong part and then would probably have told me that something else was wrong to take more money from me. I would recommend you avoid this business at all cost.
Poor service and even worse repairs. Previous owners of my house used them so I gave them a chance when the stove broke. Came for diagnostics and ordered a very expensive part, we paid for that and waited for the part to come in to be installed. A week later the technician returned but had ordered the wrong part yet still wanted to charge us for his mistake. Would have been cheaper to buy a new stove after the multiple visits the repair required.At the same time they repaired our dishwasher which was leaking heavily. A few months later the wonderful patchwork that was done to prevent the leak failed so I called to have a technician fix their poor work. Was told I would need to pay just to have someone come look and they werent responsible for a never-ending warranty. You would think they would have a few months confidence in the work they provide but they dont, just out for more money. There are plenty of other local places, I would steer clear of this one, your appliances and wallet will thank you.
Place is a joke. I called them because my In- Wall A/C fan wasnt turning on when I started the A/C. So they send a technician who basically looks at it and then calls his manager. They tell my wife you need a new fan motor, and its not worth it for us to fix but we replace the A/C for $1450. Screw you, gave them their 92$ service fee, and after 10 minutes they left. So I decided to take a crack at it, having mechanical experience. I turned the unit on and hand spun the fan wheel, WALLLAAA, the fan came right on and is now working. Took me 3 minutes to do this and I know nothing about HVAC. Dont use this company, they have no ethics, lazy and they dont care about customers. I have a One year old at home, and they couldnt even give me 30 minutes to try and get it going. SAD

She was thorough, and sensitive to my issues of not wanting to spend more than necessary at this time since I just received news one of my pets has a terminal illness. Thank you Gloria for pointing out the important issues that needed addressing, the remainder can wait until the next visit.Yes I will return.
Horrible experience with this company: rude, unprofessional and dishonest people from the Technician to the manager! Exactly like other reviewers complained. Action repair - If you are trying to do a good job you have to be professional NOT JUST THINKING ABOUT TAKING MONEY FROM YOUR CUSTOMER, FIX THE PROBLEM AND BE PROFESSIONAL!Please everyone read reviews before you hire them, then go with someone else, do not work with them. I have never met with any other technicians that are more rude than them, and more importantly they could not solve the problem! They charge what they did but do not care about if they fixed the machine or not! If I could give a zero star I will.
This company is horrible. A part was suppose to be in Friday and they were suppose to be installing it yet I had to have my landlord call them about this and they informed him late Thursday the part isnt in and that they would not be coming Friday after I was guaranteed that they would be coming Friday. I received a message Saturday afternoon they would be coming Monday. I called back and a man returned my call and said the office is closed so I have to call Monday to confirm but they do not schedule times. I called Monday to find out what time they would coming. Brenda said she would call me back after she found out. She never called back an hour later I called and they informed me they would not be coming because the persons our sick. So they didnt know this when I called? Apparently they only have 1 person that can fix an oven. Great so 2 days of rearranging schedules and still no fixed oven. Also they do not give a time block for when they will be here. It could be any time during the day they informed me. Brenda states shes the office manage yet told me all shes going its repeating as shes told and hangs up on you when you ask questions. She also stated shes sorry and what would I like her to do. I informed her I would like someone here to fix my oven as stated. She told me its not possible and they will come on the day I said I was free and hung up the phone. Im sure thats not the way to do business.
They came twice to fix a grinding noise in ice maker total time 4 hours repair man said couldnt find anything wrong keep icemaker off I called the manager explain why you charge and can not repair all he did was give me slick answers personally I would never recommend them and Im thinking about taking them into small claims court I shouldve called GE in the first place wasnt that much difference for initial service call I was ripped off !
They are rude and dishonest. I posted my job request at Home Advisor and got three recommendations none of them was Action Repaire, but for some reason they got my info and sent me email pretending they are Home Advisor recommended shop. They must used another name in Home Advisor system. So the whole thing they operated is cheating.I eventually asked somebody else from another company to do the job who did an excellent work at half of the price.
Action Repair Services is a complete dishonest business and I would recommend to stay away from them.Our refrigerator wasnt cooling well and the owner came to our home. He claimed to be an expert of all home appliances and that he could fix anything and everything.The moment he put his hands in our refrigerator he killed it. He collected the money and ran off.When we tried to have him come back to fix the refrigerator, he scheduled an appointment, but never showed up.He is a real SCAM. There are plenty of other contractors in the area, stay away from this guy!!
HORRIBLE!!!!!! Absolutely one of the worst experiences with a service repair company I have ever encountered.. After six (6) visits within a two week period to fix a malfunctioning relay, it is still not fixed and after their last visit our A/C now is not working. We are worse off that we were before they came out. Waited all day for them to come back for yet a seventh (7th) visit and repair what they broke only to learn that the tech went home early and were not coming and would be out tomorrow.. Well, just received a call from who I presume is the owner who informed me to call someone else... Thats how they do business... Do yourselves a favor and save yourself time and money and dont call Action Repair, CALL SOMEONE ELSE..........

Pretty messed up people scamed my 73 year old mother out of $315 right before christmas. Shes on social security. They charged that amount for a stove sensor. I looked it up and it cost $12.I hope they sleep well at night.
Horrible customer service. This company does not deserve your money. They do not know how to talk to people and are not respectful of your time.
