I just had one of the nicest Service Technician do a repair on my home AC!! His name was Daniel Gilbert. With all thats going on in this world it was soo nice to deal with such a pleasant and curious young man!! I have to give a shout-out to Sam, the young lady that took my service call. She was very professional and was able to get someone to come, after a cancellation call in. I will definitely be using them again, WORD OF MOUTH..... Custom Design are the go to company!!

I received 4 estimates. Chris estimate was about the same price as the others, but included a better set of equipment, upgrades from what I had so that my system will finally be able to keep up. They installed a heat pump, a furnace and the air handlers. They also fixed some duct issues I had in the attic and installed some new ducts to better even out the distribution of the air. It has worked great since they installed it. I definitely recommend using them for any AC or heat needs you have.

Our air handler would quit at times, after calling Custom Design, Daniel was dispatched and arrived within an hour. He was very professional and found the problem within minutes. He stayed to confirm he fixed it and checked all functions including the pressures at the heat pump. He also gave us advise on using our WiFi thermostat.I used Custom Design because Scott came out years ago for a different issue and was very knowledgeable and honest. I had an issue with my ac. They gave me an estimate for repairs. I prepaid, they got the parts and installed them only to find it needed more parts. It was quite expensive so i wont be getting it fixed. Since the unit still wont work they are refunding me the cost. I was so surprised. If i can save to get a new unit i will certainly call them first.

Needed HVAC system replacement of a nearly 20 yr old system.Selected Custom Design based on both discussions with Chris and on their bid for the job.Installation crew was timely, professional and did excellent work as far as I am competent to tell. Custom Design Tech Daniel came out and fixed my A/C on a warm Saturday evening. He followed the changing symptoms of the problem to find a loose sensor connector wire at the control board, and we were soon cooling again..have been using Custom Design many years, and they have a great team of techs. My maintenance agreement with them assures me of timely priority service. Good job, Daniel!

This company is really easy to work with. They promptly came out to look at my heating problems and were able to return on the next business day to fix it. Everyone that I dealt with in the company, the original service technician, the installers, and Chris, were very kind, flexible, and pleasant to work with. It has been a long time since Ive had such a great customer service experience with a company and the new heater seems to be doing great! I highly recommend them.

I custom built my home in 2002 and used Custom/Design Heating and Air Conditioning design an efficient and environmentally friendly three zone system. The installation was flawless and without a doubt they are the best subcontractor I have ever worked with. Fast forward to late 2019/20 two of my units went out (18-19 years of service). I had repeated and costly experiences with a home warranty company and finally had Chriss expert technicians diagnose the issues with the units (many of which were caused by the home warranty technicians) and had Chris Cambell of Custom Design immediately apply emergency measures to get the heat back on. They then installed two new units quickly and flawlessly. These guys are the best, trustworthy, knowledgeable and efficient. Have used them for three major installs on two homes and will continue to use them for all my HVAC needs.

The main system in our basement was making a rumbling sound & getting hot, so we called for service, worried that we might have to replace the fan. Tech Daniel came out promptly & quickly discovered a mouse had crawled in there & died on one of the blades, causing the fan to wobble when running! An easy fix, greatly appreciated!

They contacted ME to let me know something might be wrong so Daniel came within the hour and fixed it immediately. How awesome is that? I love the technology they installed.

Making note to never hire this company since at least one employee discards cigarettes out the window of a company truck. In Virginia this is a Class 2 misdemeanor, punishable by up to 6 months in jail and/or a fine up to $1,000.

We had a great experience with Chris and Scott that really showcased their customer support and excellent business practices. It all started out when our A/C blower motor quit. We called another company who diagnosed it as a bad blower motor and quoted us a price for a new blower motor and a brand new Trane furnace and A/C system. On the strong insistance of a friend, we called Chris at Custom Design Heating and Air. Chris quoted us a price far less than the other company and sent a technician and his brother, Scott, out to our house for an install assessment. While there, instead of pushing a whole new sytem, Scott diagnosed the problem as a bad circuit board, which we had Custom replace and perform a preventaive maintence on the old system later that same day for a lot less than the other company was going to charge us for a blower motor. Two days later, the blower quit again. Chris made it right by first, giving us full credit for all we spent for the circuit board and preventative maintenance AND priced us for a better Trane furnace and A/C system for a lot less than the other company quoted us for a system that wasnt as efficient. I am very glad our friend insisted we call Chris before we decided to do business with anyone else. Now I am going to that friend who insists all my friends and neighbors call Chris before they sign on with any other company because of Chris and Scotts honesty, reliability, and customer service.

The only HVAC company that told us why our AC didnt cool the upstairs properly and they were right. Very professional.
