I had a business trip end early and took advantage of the 70° days to get some local laps. These guys had a bike set up for my weight/height and pedal selection. I had a general idea of what I wanted - the guys in the shop totally hooked me up with route planning and detailed trail beta - Trailforks did the rest. Had a great time!! The Spark RC was purpose built for those trail systems!! Turn in was quick and easy. The shop looked new and fresh, good selection of accessories and equipment. I would highly recommend these guys and cant wait to go back.

I found the staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. I brought in an old Cannondale that had been outside in the yard for years and asked if it was worth fixing. One of the bike techs checked it out and they got back to me a few hours later telling me it wasn’t worth it. I appreciated the straightforward answer from them.Definitely a friendly environment in the shop.

Had the guys in shop swap out an air spring damper in a fox fork. work was done in a day, shop is very clean and someone always there willing to answer questions or just hang out and talk bikes. price was great, thanks for the good work, fellas!

McDowell Mountain Cycles is the best! The staff members are extremely competent, friendly and helpful. My wife and I came in as complete mountain bike beginners and got exactly the service we needed to get going. Tyson and Rob took great care of us in selecting the correct bikes. We then met with Ron to get custom fit; this made a HUGE difference in comfort and efficiency. During our first ride at McDowell Mountain Regional Park, we got bad advice on what constituted an appropriate trail for beginners. Ron took time out of his personal schedule to meet us at the park, take us on a guided ride and give us safety and technique tips. Without Ron going above and beyond, my wife probably would have abandoned mountain biking altogether. Instead, we love it! Lastly, our first service appointment went just as smoothly. I cant recommend MMC highly enough!

I was at MMC to volunteer for the 2020 Dawn to Dusk and I went into the store to pick up a few items for my race. Show room was very impressive with how they were set up. I am a super picky about my stuff and I usually have to work on my own stuff because of it...so I thought I would give these guys a try and they exceeded my expectations and the price was less then I expected. They have some nice bikes on the floor too...makes me want to buy a new one.

This place is just great from top to bottom. I went in because my chain broke on one of my rides and I was in and out in 10 minutes. They were very knowledgeable and even helped me to get some spare parts in case this happens again. The customer service was outstanding and I will definitely be coming back for all future repairs, service and parts. The shop itself is beautiful as well and very clean. Much different from the bike shops I am used to in the east valley. I would highly recommend anyone to come here.

Ive been riding for the last few years and never had a bike fit other than what seemed to feel ok at the time. Once I had my fit with Ron I couldnt believe the difference in how I felt. He took his time and really wanted to be sure he had everything correct for me. Thanks so much Ron!! I felt like I got a new bike all over again!! :)

Dropped two bikes off which had been in storage for a couple of years. They performed a bronze level maintenance repair on both. We went to dinner about 5pm. They advertise a turn around within 48 hours. Got a text that the bikes were ready 1.5 hours later. Same day service. Super fast and they ride like new. They were 7100 model Treks about 13 years old. They will have my business from now on.

MM Cycles is the best cycle shop in the valley and well worth the drive... I visited plenty of shops. All the staff is excellent. Brock was especially friendly, informative, and spent the time to make sure I got the bike that was the best solution for my needs, which wasnt the higher priced option so that was a great savings! They are totally customer focus and make the process fun. There are bikes to test ride and nobody is in a rush. Don’t buy a bike without visiting this shop! Youll see the difference as soon as you walk in the door.

Having just moved to Scottsdale I was looking for a cycle store that could help me get back into cycling and offer up a few suggestions on replacement accessories, I walked into the Fountain Hills store and was immediately greeted by Rob, he was very personable and took the time to help me choose a new helmet and cycle shoes, all the time never trying to up sell. We came into Phoenix for a long weekend. I had rented bikes from MMC in advance. When we got to the shop it turned out we had gotten some bad information related to rental bike racks and drop off at the trail head. If you want to get charged double and deal with rude bike technicians, MMC is the way to go. Zero integrity and zero customer service, all they care about is money apparently. Even after my wife got quoted a price over the phone, and I verified that same price when I called in, they held both our bikes hostage and charged us more than double what they agreed to. Not only do they charge $75 an hour but theyll also charge you for two hours when it only takes one. Real class act this place, save your time and money and go to a bike shop that cares about integrity over profit.

Dropped in mid January to explore the possibility of starting to bike again after not touching one for more than 40 years. Jake was very patient with me to determine what type of bike would suit me best. He suggested renting one first which got me hooked. Bought a great Trek mountain bike as soon as I returned the rental. I found him very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. Since my purchase, I have been back to the store many times and have always found everyone there very friendly, patient, and helpful. It is also evident that all the staff are very enthusiastic bikers. I have been so pleased with them that I bought a second Trek bike from them to take back to Canada with me in April. I highly recommend them for all your biking needs.

I took two bicycles in to have the tires filled with air and lights put on and have a new battery put in my speedometer odometer. They are always so helpful here and encouraging. I bought my Trek bicycle here about a year ago. This is my bike shop. They really know what theyre doing. And even though Im a grandmother, they know its important to me to have a bike ready to roll!

My first experience in the store was outstanding. I was visiting AZ for a mountain bike race. The evening before the race my SRAM brakes locked up. Pressed for time the staff (Rob & Tyson) knew exactly what the problem was. They warranted the parts, made the repairs, and had me race ready. The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and efficient.

I was in deep trouble with my bottom bracket. The crank arm nut wouldn’t come off. They bailed me out big time!

I was having pain and feeling uncomfortable on my road bike so I had Ron at Pedal Well fit studio do a fitting for me. Since then my rides have been much more comfortable and pain free. Ron was very attentive to every detail and the adjustments he made helped tremendously. It was well worth the time and money and I highly recommend him!

I trust these guys to fix my all my bikes for a reasonable price. They are always helpful and friendly and I highly recommend them. That they are so close to where I live is just an added bonus!

Im writing this on the morning of October 28, a day where the US will probably set another record for Covid 19 cases. I went in to this bike shop and saw that I and all the customers were wearing masks, but neither of the stores employees were. They were working with customers without wearing masks. I left and went to the other bike shop in town, where all the employees were wearing masks. For all the non-maskers who like to say, if you dont like it, go somewhere else, I did. I will not go back to a store that clearly doesnt care about its customers safety.

I just spent a few days in the area from out of town, so I decided to stop into a bike shop to ask where theres good riding. This shop is the perfect location to start some great riding. The guys let me park my car, change, go out for a ride and wash up post-ride. I wasnt expecting any of this. They have a full changing room with shower. Very hospitable, and enjoyed talking bikes and what local life is here. I very likely will be coming back to this area, and will gladly give them my business on future visits. Great people.

I rented a bike for a week. I am not from the area and told them my concerns regarding terrain and trail versus road riding. They fixed me up with the sweetest ride. Norwegian manufacturing in three sizes. Carbon fiber, single drive crank which I was concerned about given the hills (mountains) in the area. I climbed with ease and had plenty of downhill speed. I took the loop around McDowell Mountain. Loved every single mile. I’m buying one.

I had my bike serviced, bought two new bike helmets and a new bike rack for my car. Brock helped me with everything. He was great. After he helped me install the bike rack on my car I went home and put my two bikes in the rack. I then went back to MMC and had Brock check that I put the bikes in correctly which I did. He was very patient and had a wealth of knowledge about bike equipment. He even told me where to go to ride safely with my granddaughter. I was so thankful for all his information. Every time I go to the shop the employees are so friendly and helpful which I cant say for the other bike shops. Met the owner who was gave me lots of info on local trails.Great selection of gear and bikes. Would highly recommend if need gear, tools,or bike maintenance.

This company either doesnt care about people and doing the right thing, or they just dont know how the people working for them are acting towards customers. This was my first time in MMC and it will be my last. Ill save you all the details and just let you know that making money is their top priority and Im not sure if they have any other priorities. Being honest about the time they spend definitely wont happen, but overcharging you and being unapologetically rude about it definitely will. If you do decide to go in, steer completely clear of Tyson...hes rudest of the bunch.

I am new to road cycling, trying to prepare for a week long bike ride across Iowa. I was so grateful for the advice from McDowell Mountain Cycles. I was able to connect with Ron who helped fit me to the bike I currently own, tweaked my shoes and provided me with great cycling tips. As a novice, all information is helpful, but sometimes its hard to know who to ask or what to ask. MMC is a great resource and I would recommend it to anyone new to cycling or who is already a great bicyclist. Thanks for all your help.

The Scott competition/full suspension MTB I rented was well tuned, essentially brand new and reasonably priced. Tyson was also very knowledgeable about the nearby McDowell trails and quite friendly. Came in from Michigan and rented a Scott 940 for 10 days. Rob and Tyson were the gents that helped me and although we had a little blip in the screen about cost quoted, he was accommodating and gave me a smoking deal on the rental. Our first 4 days were spent in Scottsdale. I had two other friends that also rented bikes for a day and again, Rob and Tyson, were there to help fit and get them ready to hit the trails for a half day. We ran into a small problem when trying to load all three bikes into our rental Expedition, they didnt fit! Rob was incredibly helpful and loaned me his old Thule two up rack, which got us all to the trial to have some fun. After that our group was headed to Sedona for 7 days and again Rob was gracious enough to let me us his rack to get to Sedona and ride the trails up there. I work in the service business and all I can say is A+++ all around, its incredibly hard to find this level of service anywhere! On ALL my future trips to Arizona I will only deal with one bike rental company, McDowell. Along with that I will HIGHLY recommend all of my riding friends that visit AZ to make sure and take their business to McDowell Cycle. This is one of those bike shops that just gets it. It is a lifestyle shop, these guys eat sleep breath bicycles. When I was in fountain hills I had the pleasure of stopping in the shop and going on 3 group rides. These guys took us on the best trails and linked together a solid and different loop each ride. Stopped in today to look at some shoes and pick up some nutrition. First of all what a fantastic looking and well layed out shop. Great selection of shoes and nutrition, and from what else I saw about everything a cyclist or a person interested in bikes would want. Marty helped me pick out some great shoes that were right in my budget. I also had some questions on a road bike that I have been looking at but not in the market to buy yet. Knowing this Marty still took his time to go over the bike with me and explain the differences in some of the other models and gave me more realistic recommendation on a less expensive model! Marty, Jake and the others at the shop are super knowledgeable, super nice and take their time to help and get to know you!! Although it was a ways away from where I live, the staff and shop were worth the drive and extra time it took me to get there!!

Had a broken exercise bike chain that I was having difficulty finding a replacement for due to age. They identified the chain, ordered the replacement and had it delivered promptly. The staff are friendly and experienced and the cost reasonable. Would highly recommend MMC.
