We are both in our 60s & wanted bikes that we could mount and dis-mount easily that would allow us to ride around our neighborhood, now that the cooler temperatures are returning. Problem was that we were really worried about shopping inside a store given our age and medical conditions.After explaining the situation over the phone, the staff (Ashley & crew) brought the bikes outside so we could try them. They had a low entry bike that met our needs perfectly.Now, we are able to ride around our neighborhood, enjoying getting some excercise during the cooler weather.An update: Get everything in writing! Do NOT believe what they tell you, they will say anything for a sale! They have policies printed on sales receipt, that you may not know about UNTIL sale is final. We like the bikes, but not the after the sale experience.

I recently purchased a bicycle from here, and later found a hard-to-notice manufacturer defect. Russel made time on a busy day to have me come in and had the part swapped and repaired incredibly quickly. This shop seems to really care about their customers - even if you are a college student buying a cheap entry-level bike. Very good customer service.

Fountain Hills Bikes is the best shop for all your bike needs. The staff is very knowledgeable and provide world class service. I brought in a classic Dutch bicycle for service, and I was lucky enough to have a master technician who is actually Dutch work on it! Edward was so helpful and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his profession, and I knew my bike was in good hands. I highly recommend the excellent service provided here to anyone looking for anything bike related.

Doug and staff at Fountain Hills Bikes hooked me up right! I live and ride in Bend Oregon. I was going to be in the Scottsdale area for a few days to attend a conference for work and thought I would try to fit some riding in. From my first call to inquire about rental options, to set up and trail suggestions, the service was top notch! I rented the Specialized Carbon Fuse and was not disappointed. I put 60 miles on the bike in two days hitting a wide variety of trails within the McDowell regional park (just minutes from the Fountain Hills Bike shop). I highly recommend Fountain Hills Bikes to get you on a top notch rental whip that will not disappoint! Trail suggestions if you are in the area (Escondido, Long loop, Rock knob, Scenic, Coachwhip, Boulder, Dixie Mine, and Shallmo Wash – all can be accessed and looped into various loops throughout the McDowell Mountain Regional park.

Jan and Russel have both been excellent since I started working with them last fall. Between the bike sale, maintenance and tune ups, as well as overall knowledge, they have exceeded my expectations and have always been helpful. Always worth the 40 minute drive from Phoenix and I would not go anywhere else

Brent has done a terrific job with full tune/shock rebuilds on two mtb bikes. Everyone I have dealt with in the shop is super helpful, too. As a recent transplant from the NW (and small bike shop owner there), I do not hesitate to recommend Fountain Hills Bikes for any of your cycling needs!

I recently found this shop and could not be happier with the service. Larry, Jan, and Brent have been fabulous and they are in business to help you, not to sell you something. I had a poor experience with a competitor of theirs and found FHB through the Specialized website - I contacted them through FB Messenger while they were closed and they still responded promptly and helped me on the spot. Dont waste your time driving around looking for a shop, take the extra effort and enjoy the drive out to Fountain Hills.

Rented a PHENOMENAL road bike for 6 days from this shop. Doug was great to work with and treated me like a regular. They have some fantastic Specialized bikes that look beautiful, and the prices are more than fair. I recommend them to anyone considering renting or buying a quality bike in the Scottsdale/Fountain Hills area. Rented a couple of mountain bikes from them. They took the time to set up the bikes just right for our sizes and weights. The suspension was set just right. The bikes were perfectly maintained and performed flawlessly. Too many rental places just send you out the door and let you figure it out for yourself. Highly recommend.

I came in right before they were closing to get a repair done on my front tire because I had a race that night. They took me in and took care of it and even showed me how to fix it if it happens again. These guys were awesome and I super appreciate them taking care of me on such short notice. Highly recommend for damn near anything.

We bought a set of Specialized MTB’s from here and it was a great experience. RUSSELL is awesome and super knowledgeable!! Takes his time to make sure you have what you need and no junk. They offer great bikes and gear, and are a great crew. A small bike shop will always get you the most personalized service and support!

Im in Arizona for the winter from Canada... Brent at the bike shop was super chill and yet a fast bike tech! He fixed me up on an instant, and the cost was sofa king reasonable!!!

We recently vacationed in Scottsdale/Fountain Hills and rented bikes for our family at Fountain Hills Bike shop. The service was top notch! They properly fit each of us to ensure the right bike, provided helmets and suggested a great route for a perfect ride. The rentals bikes were very reasonable and in near new condition. Highly suggest for rentals or to purchase as the prices were very competitive and the selection is great.

I have stopped in here a few times the folks here have been friendly and helpful each time. Im not an avid biker or anything just stopped for more fringe needs. I must say the selection of items seems decent and of good quality, I havent looked much at prices beyond the few items I needed but they seem fair with mid to high rages. In trying to find a replacement grip for a pool pole the possibility that a bike grip may work came to mind they had me bring the pole inside and we went over what options they had and even tho I wasnt able to find something that worked that time the willingness to help with a somewhat odd request was appreciated. I purchased a small bike pump from them on another occasion, the selection was great and of good quality even at the lower price point. This seems like a good place to go with helpful nice ppl. The reasonable selection as well as prices for a quality little bike shop like this would all have me back again Im sure.

My hubby and I decided to rent some mountain bikes on a whim. Doug had us ready to go in 30 min with the bikes loaded up on a rack. He recommended a great ride for our time and skill level. We had a great time and I cannot be more appreciative. We had a great time!! I highly recommend this shop!

Stopped in today on way home from an early morning ride at McDowell Mtn Park. Owner Doug is very knowledgeable about all aspects of biking, generous with his time, and patient with my questions. He recognized that I was parched from my earlier ride and supplied a free ice cold bottle of water...twice. I am contemplating purchasing a new mountain bike. He supplied lots of information and setup four different bikes for me to try in the lot...all with no pressure to buy. The mechanic expertly resolved a couple of persistent issues I had been unable to resolve on with my current bike while we discussed new bikes. I highly recommend Doug/this shop and I will be back - even though I live 40 minutes away. For reference, I am a experienced road rider, mountain rider, and bike mechanic.

Great bike shop! I rented a mtb there recently and they did a great job of setting up the suspension perfect!!!

Doug is awesome! Called ahead about 24 hours and he met group of 9 at the trailhead with the right fit ting bike for ages 9 to adult. We were about to venture off when he grabbed the map and suggested a different route that would challenge but not discourage. Would recommend FHB to anyone, especially those who appreciate superb customer service.

Five stars to Doug at Fountain Hills Bikes.  A friend recommended me to Doug when I needed the SRAM DB5 hydraulic brakes on my Specialized Stump Jumper mountain bike evaluated for replacement under SRAMs two year brake warranty. Doug was knowledgeable, very helpful and followed through with SRAM to get the replacement front and rear brake levers. His technician installed the new brakes and Im up and riding again. Doug went out of his way and really took care of my bike brakes. I live in south east Mesa, but the drive out to Fountain Hills Bikes was worth it for the technical expertise and customer service I could trust. I highly recommend Fountain Hills Bikes.

Doug, the owner, past away on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018. He is remembered as a friend of cycling and was impactful on the cycling community.
