Poorly run organization. Better have a File of documentation before you go there. If your CC has rental protection and you dont have proof of it they will force you to buy coverage. Better have this along with your own Insurance declaration page or you will be there a while. Took about 30 minutes for them to pick you up from airport. Others waiting for same place with me said the were calling for over 30 minutes and no one answered. What a mess. Have traveled all over the world renting cars from multiple rental car places... even shady Caribbean rental car places are better. I would advise you to avoid. not worth the discount cost. PS 1 month after rental we were charged a $74.95 fee for something we are still not sure what it was for.
THESE GUYS SUCK!!!! Just like the other reviews. Never got picked up at the airport, we got dropped off by another rentals shuttle. When we got to the office they hit us with extra charges. We had to change our drop off time and they made us come in to sign papers to change the time, then charges extra $35 because it wasnt in their operation hours. What a bunch of jokers. Their staff clearly are used to dealing with this, we asked if they get this a lot and they just smirked. If I could give negative stars I would. It appears to be cheaper but it ends up being more expensive. They will ruin your trip from the start. DO NOT GIVE THESE CLOWNS YOUR BUSINESS!!
My mom and I used this car rental place for a weekend trip and we got a cute little fiat 500 and we loved it. It was clean and no problems. The employee were nice and put our suitcases in the car for us and when we went to return it they took a our bags out of the car for us.
Wish I could give them a 0 Star Rating. Where to even start? Let me start with we waited over 1.5 hours to be picked up from the airport to their place of business. When we got there we waited another 30-45 min for someone to help us. After that we were given what they told us a brand new Fiat with less than 200 miles. We get in and make our way to The Keys. We make it about 1 hour when the car starts acting funny. I pull off an exit and the car literally loses all power. I eventually am able to make it to a gas station to call them. Number listed on website wasnt even connected. I find their number by calling the airport. I finally get a hold of someone and tell them what has happened. I am told thats impossible because it is a brand new car. After arguing with them for 30 minutes I am told someone will be there around an hour with a new car. After waiting almost 3 hours they finally arrive with a new car. No refunds given, no care in the world, no remorse. Bottom line stay away from them. Its not worth saving a few dollars.
NÜ car rentals was an awful experience through and through. The staff was reluctant to help when we had waited for a long time, and simply walked away whe we asked for assistance. When we had reached the front of the line, after a lot of waiting mind you, they told us that they had run out of cars to rent- when we had RESERVED one in advance. We had to go to another car rental place and cut through lots of red tape just to get a rental car. Very bad experience, and would never use again.
Run away from this company and do not do business with them. They don’t care about customers what so ever. They will take your money and not provide any services. They kept my money fraudulently and never provided any services. Go somewhere else avoid them at all costs!
THEY ARE THE SPIRIT AIRLINES OF RENTAL CAR COMPANIES. Awful experience thus far. The office is difficult to find because they share the building with an auto garage but still have their signs up at the old building. There were ants all in our car and when we called they told us to bring the car to the office. We drove 40 minutes to the office only for them to tell us they don’t have any cars to swap with ours. We told them the ants were coming out the vents and they offered to vacuum the car, which makes no sense. I just found a to go food container under the seat from a previous renter I guess but they said they clean the car after every use. Our flight leaves before they open, so I called and they told us we needed to pay a $35 early return fee the night before. We get there the night before and then they say we can’t return it in the morning so now we’re stuck without a car because we had to return it that night. Also the deposit is $400. This company needs to shut down completely, literally the worst customer service and communication. ALSO we’re driving a Nissan SUV but our contract says we’re driving a convertible mustang.
HUGE SCAM. Don’t waste your time or money. The price you see online is NOT what you will pay. Your terrible experience starts at the airport. We waited 30 minutes in the cold for the shuttle to arrive, watching all the other shuttle busses go by for other companies. After our third phone call to their office, the shuttle driver finally came.We were hit with tons of extra charges that were hidden at the time of reservation. We ended up paying $100 more than we expected. They will try to pressure you to pay for a daily toll insurance and everything else. The remote keys for the car did not work. When we called they asked if we bought the roadside assistance and only then would they help us. I wish we had walked away on the first day. Save yourself the trouble and go with a reputable car company.
They dont even deserve one star...horrible service. This is a scam. We made the mistake to book through them for guests we had from abroad. Terrible off-airport location with cramped space. Everyone stood in line for what seemed to be an eternity. While we stood in line, we heard all the yelling and complaining by the folks who were ahead of us. These guys operate under ancient practices, overcharge for insurance, and were so inflexible and slow. The process took forever. We lost TWO hours in that hell-hole. While having the car, we called the office to change the credit card on file and they demanded that we drive down and fill out paperwork from scratch, like we are in the 70s all over again. They were very rude on the phone and eventually hanged up on us. It feels like we were in a third-world country. Unbelievable...! The FTC needs to know about those clowns and shut them down. This is not an American standard of business. Stay away from them like the plague and never give them your business.

Even thought the website said UNLIMITED.$1000 (yes a thousand dollars) security deposit on a credit card.And you need have a car insurance coverage of $1,000,000.00 (One Million dollars) or else they will make you pay whatever they have.And they WILL NOT REFUND YOU YOUR MONEY.
It was reasonably priced with quick and friendly service. The shuttle showed up at the airport within a couple of minutes of us calling them. When we returned our car, the shuttle was already waiting to take us back to the airport. The van we rented was clean and in good condition.
April 30 2016 - May 7 2016No issues, no problems, no worries...After my husband booked with this car rental agency I decided to read the reviews and that is when I started to worry about what we had gotten ourselves into booking with this company just to save a few bucks...Well we arrived at FLL and we walked out to the pickup area and onto the shuttle van arriving at the agency about 8 minutes later. We walked in gave them our I.D. proof of insurance and credit card signed the papers and they brought the car around, checked for dents and bumps, loaded our luggage into the trunk and off we went......NOT ONE PROBLEMOn the day we returned the car they checked everything over, printed the invoice and had the shuttle waiting for us to head back to the airport.The only extra charge was $21.00 to have an additional driver for a week!!We will DEFINITELY book with this company again.
Total nightmare! Wished I had read the reviews. Do not go through the hassle. Go with another car rental place. We rented a car a week before our vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. This place is not inside the airport so we waited for the shuttle bus which never showed up. Tried calling the office, they had a voice mail that didnt even go to their office. Had to find a ride to the office, when we got there there was no one there. They had no cars in their parking lot, it was a deserted building with nothing in the office. Got a ride to our hotel and rented through another company. This is your warning! Save yourself a headache.
If I can give them no stars I would. The worse experience ever. Waited for 1 h and 30 min at the airport. Called about 10 times for pick up. Kept getting same answer. Driver will be there in 10min. Shuttle never showed up. Us and another couple end up taking a cab to the rental car location. While we were paying for the car driver of the shuttle showed up and stated ( making faces at us) that he was at the airport 3 times and there were no people for pick up. I told him that he is lying and if he was there us and other people would not of taken a cab . At this point clerk working on our reservation told us that if we are not happy with the services we are being provided we can leave and handed us back our driver license and credit card.When we asked for reimbursement for car service we were told it will not be possible. As per clerk if we decided not to use there “courtesy “ shuttle it is our problem.I don’t know how this company is still in existence but I will never use them again and fare warning for others. Worst car rental EVER. Pay just a bit more and save yourself from a lot of trouble.

Never again. We (myself and another couple) ended taking another company’s shuttle to get to the offsite rental office because no one ever came to pick us up. Two employees working. One behind the counter and one supposedly manning the shuttle and assessing cars at the same time. No wonder nobody came to pick us up. I watched the lady at the desk chastise the man in front of me for not calling the proper number for pick up. I called the same number. Then the computers went down. The worst! Get what you pay for I guess.
Extremely rude staff, its like they would almost say to you, if you want courteous service and friendly staff, you better pay more.Dirty cars.They dont provide shuttle service from the terminal to the car rental if your flight arrives extremely late or if you have to catch an early morning flight.
I wish I could say that the other reviews were unwarranted. We called many, many times to be picked up from the airport. No answer. We ended up calling a cab and when we got there at 10:45pm it was closed even though the posted hours says open until 11pm. Our pick up time was 10pm and the contract says they will hold the car for two hours after the pick up time. It was a huge inconvenience for our weekend and when we asked to talk to the manager we were told that he wouldnt be in until the afternoon. We left a number for him to call, but not surprisingly he never did.
Total scammers. No business name, or hours, or phone number on the door, no key drop off, they could not be more unprofessional. Contract says they open at 7am, we sat there with 4 other people until the staff arrived at 7:45am. Staff gave no apology. Because of no key drop off, we could not leave. We were all late for airport. I got an email stating the car was checked in at 9pm that night and there were no issues. Company still has not released my deposit. They refuse to give me a phone number to call. Please learn from all these bad reviews- and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!
Good service and reasonably pricedUnlike most reviews my experience was enjoyable. Customer service was good. Staff were friendly and professional. Vehicle was in good condition. Prices were affordable and they also seemed to have the cheapest under age fee. Shuttle arrived on time to pick up from airport as well as to drop off at airport.If you dont read through the terms; Just as with anything you would do. When at the office you may have to pay for certain things which you did not expect which will catch you off guard. They have explicitly stated the fees to be paid but if you fail to read the terms it will cause you to pay for things yoh didnt budget and have a bad experience, but this is due to your own negligence.Overall good experience.Would recommend to anyone.

Not recommended for locals or any other tourists for that matter. They charge per mile, in which the fine print detail was not provided by 3rd party travel website. They also piled on other fees and misled us on the final costs. I demanded my husband to cancel the NU reservation and rebook with a more reputable car rental company; but my husband was so frustrated with everything (from the time he spent waiting in line and haggling with the NU agent) and reluctantly [over]paid the NU scam artists the money.
Scammers, be careful…They will rip you off….Made a reservation with them on line and since they only carter to tourist not local residence like myself the rental fee would’ve been different. I found out all of this info when I went to pick up the rental. But here is the kicker…even though I did not rent any car and canceled it at the counter they still charged me for the 4 days I originally had rented it for. Avoid this rental center at all cost or it will cost you a lot of $$. I’m still fighting with them to get my $ refunded.. Theres nothing less than 1 star...
Waited an hour for the shuttle to pick us up from Ft Lauderdale airport. They have a voice mail to leave a message. The car rental was only $12.95 a day. If you are willing to sacrifice some time... its worth it. They had a brand new 2017 Altima for me. Hopefully they get their act together. I may or may not use them again. Lets see.
I cant believe this company is even allowed to operate legally. While the customer experience alone was awful, my main issue was one of safety. When we finally got our rental car off lot in Fort Lauderdale it was dirty inside. The back seats seatbelt had been cut and when I showed the guy he just shoved it under the seat and said it was fixed. When I turned the car on the check engine light was on. When I showed the guy he said that the car was in fine shape, but the sensor was not working. I should have not taken the car but wanted to get out of there so badly that we drove off. Once I got on the highway I lost all acceleration and the cars battery/check oil lights turned on. I was able to pull to the side of the road, turn the car on/off and got it started again. At that point we decided to return the car and headed back. On the way the same thing happened two more times. Then, the last time, not only did the acceleration stop but the brake stopped working as well. So, no gas and no brakes. Was able to coast to the side of the road and stopped using the parking brake which, thankfully and surprisingly, worked. We were simply lucky not to have been in a wreck. The guy picked up the car and showed no sympathy at all until my friend mentioned that her husband is a lawyer and we wanted in writing that wed get a full refund. I also got a very poorly written apology email saying theyd put new systems in place to avoid this in the future (yeah, right).
If I could give it 0 stars I would. I just left here and they said my insurance doesn’t cover there insurance policy. I’ve never had any issue renting a vehicle with my insurance. Then he said he has to ask his manager about my insurance since my vehicle is an older model than my rental. I have USAA. I’ve never had any issue renting a vehicle before in my life. They tried to get me to buy their toll pass. I reserve my vehicle through orbits. I should’ve read the reviews first. DONT BOOK WITH THEM. Terrible customer service.
Truly disappointing service. They missed our pickup and didnt have a local number to call. When we got through on their national line, the agent didnt know where we should go. We called back and they reported canceling our reservation because we were an hour late (caused by their failure to pick us up).Really bizarre, but seems consistent with their terrible rating. Well be sure to check reviews next time. :-(
Takes lot of time in processing, staff is very rude. Car is not clean before hand, they will clean it if you ask them, and waste of my time.And all, charges extra amount, after 2 months of your tripI was having Florida Sunpass(NU Car rental executive told me, if you SunPass, no need of paying any extra tolls), and after 2 months, they charged me for tolls

Pay a little more and rent from known companies, to save you the trouble.On top of that it’s even further than rental center. You have to change 2 shuttles. Woman in the office is so rude to customer. It takes about half hour per person to check you in and drop off. Then only one person working so he had to go get the car do the checkout etc. very unfriendly staff in the office. The car had dings and dents all over it. remote key was not working. DO NOT GO HERE.

We booked Ford Mustang from this place 3 weeks before our arrival. However, when we arrived they didnt even have the car. There were two other guys waiting for the same car as well. Oh yeah, and we waited about 40mins to be picked up from the airport. Other companies will pick you up in about 5mins. In the end we didnt even use this company - we walked literally 150ft to Sixt car rentals and had the most amazing experience in our lives!
Awful service. It just doesnt get any worse than NU Car Rentals. I rented a car through NU and they were overbooked, so they routed me to the Miami location. When I tried to cancel, no one would take responsibility. Dont rent from NU unless you want a massive headache, five hours on the phone spread out over a week with no one ever calling you back, and an eventual refund that takes a week to come back to your account.
Stay away!! They are cheap, with several hidden fees, that add up to normal. This company in particular told us after we got our car, that they open at 7am. Our flight was at 950am, so we were returning the car at 8am...doors were locked no one there. We kept calling finally a man answered he stated he would they would be there soon. 820am, still no one. We continued to call, we were sent to voicemail. Finally a woman answered and said she was 15 mins away, she said we could leave the car on the 4th floor parking lot with the keys under the mat. No lady, we want our receipt, and to make sure you get the keys in your hand! 845am, they finally send a guy who is brand new, first day on the job. Its a good thing the airport is right over the bridge, a 5 minute drive or we would have missed our flight. Youll be frustrated and highly irritated...just stick to the onsite car rentals, or one that youve heard of. Stay away from this one!!
Bad: they only have one shuttle and you have to call for it. Then it takes over 15 minutes for them to get there. This business is small with little manpower. The check in process is long and on paper. They dont let you enroll the car on your sunpass. So it forces you to enroll in their toll program that is $12/day. They have a $1000.00 hold on your credit card!!! That was the most ridiculous hold Ive ever seen. Usually it is no more than $500. And the man didnt tell me upfront what the security hold was until he already ran my card and I got a notification on my phone. That is not competitive in this market. I will be surprised if they stay in business.The only good thing about the experience is that the car was brand new and clean.

They force you to pay $40 for the Sunpass, even if you say you dont want it, and $10 daily on top of what you pay at each toll!! My parents had their own Sunpass but they dont allow them to use it. What a reap off, im beyond angry. They ruined my parents vacations! I called and Leonardo hung up on me.
Terrible service. My flight landed in FLL 30 minutes late. Per the instructions I received when making the reservation, I called to say I was on way and guy had my info already. But when I arrived, the Greasy guy behind the counter was terrible. He was condescending and rude. He took and processed my credit card and license and then said my reservation was deleted because I was a no show and that there was nothing he could do to help. So I went next door to Sixt. Very professional and courteous staff but paid twice as much. Beware the 2nd (and third) rate car rental companies. The Nü company name wasnt even anywhere at their office, which was shared with Green. I learned its not always worth it to save a few bucks.

Warning to floridians, these folks have a rental car company set up in Florida but they have horrible restrictions against Floridians such as a 1000 deposit and 1 million dollar liability insurance. We are currently on sabbatical and traveling the world. We came to Florida our home base waited 30 mins for a shuttle, waited another 30 mins to be waited on to then find out about the small print about the restrictions. The representative at the counter said they put those in place to keep Floridians away.Then why the heck do you have a rental store set up in Florida if we are so horrible!

This place is a scam, please don’t go there. I’m a New York City Police Officer and I came down to Fort Lauderdale for carnival October 2017. when i arrived and went to the counter at the Fort Lauderdale rental I couldn’t locate their counter. I then asked the staffs at the airport, they told me it was an off site location. I took a taxi approximately 8:15 pm and went their location upon my arrival there they were closed and all the lights in the office was turned off. At this point I knew I was scammed and screwed. I had to called another taxi to get to my hotel

Picked up the car only to find out 2 hours later that the turn and brake lights do not work. When I called the toll free number I was informed that the Magic Jack customer I was calling was unavailable. Got a hold of the initial rental location and their solution was to drive their unsafe vehicle back to the pick-up point and they would exchange it for another vehicle. Cut the trip time by 1/3 due to a poorly maintained vehicle.
Here is my detailed and honest Review:I booked through Expedia and because I booked with Expedia I had some trust that everything is legit. I was informed to call them once I reach the Fort Lauderdale Airport Rental Car Center. I called them and they told me that they will be there in 5 - 10 minutes. So I waited and saw a couple of anxious people who were not able to get hold of anyone and had prepaid (like me). So I told them that they will be here in 5-10 minutes. We waited for 25 minutes and the shuttle came. We went to their office which was 10 minutes away. The Office did not look like a Rental Car Company at all and did not say NU Rentals anywhere. It looked like a primitive office that a shady company would use and smelled funny. Much to my surprise the same 2 guys who came to pick me up, opened the office and then started checking me in.The first thing that I will give you a heads up about is Bring your insurance policy documents They want to get you big time on insurance if you dont buy their added protection.Secondly they will want you to buy the Sun Pass from them. So I declined and used only 1 Toll booth (accepted cash) so I do not think you will need it.Thirdly they will put a $500 deposit on your card as a security. This was something I did not experience before.Having said all that the check in process took about 20 minutes and the car I got was almost new. It drove well and I did enjoy my trip and drove a lot. When I had to return the car, I was able to do that without any issues and they did not charge me any extra for anything.They were definitely cheaper than anybody else on Expedia and although I saw a few concerned people at the office I did not have any issues.I will probably not book with them again and pay some extra to go to a known company. Overall not very impressed but no complaints-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Edit: 10/16/2008I saw a charge on my credit card from NU Car rental 1 month after the car was returned without any justification. I called them and as usual could not talk to anyone. Then I called Expedia and they asked me to create a support ticket. After 2 months the ticket was updated and they said we do not know why it is charged and did not provide any refund. What a scam company. I have never been this satisfied with a car rental company. A total nightmare. I am surprised how can they still be in business.

Not located at the airport like google maps shows. The google map is for NU bus stop at the airport. The office is about 10 min away from the airport. Be prepare to put down a $250 credit card deposit or a $500 debit card deposit.. staff was OK depending on who you got. Make sure you get the sunpass toll package if you plan to be on the highway, NU will charge you a huge fee if you go thru a sunpass toll without it.

Awful experience. Requires 2 bus/shuttles to get to the off site location. Car battery died and had to be jumped 4 times in one week and the company (NU of Sunshine) was not helpful. I strongly recommend using a different rental company located inside the Airport rental terminal. This was not worth the savings.
Workers were rude and shiesty. It took forever for them to pick me up from the airport. But they were also upset because I wouldnt purchase their car insurance. They started trying to collect personal information that was unneeded they werent register with the Better Business Bureau. I left and caught an Uber back to the airport and had a car rented in less than 5 minutes dont use these guys.
BUYER BEWARE: If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Flew to Fort Lauderdale went to the courtesy bus stop number 7. I waited for one hour watching the other car rental busses go by about every 5 min. After 15 min of waiting I started calling the two numbers I had for NU and about 20 calls each went to voice mail. There was 4 other groups of people waiting for the NU bus with me, they left when I did to find other car companies.Grabbed a Uber for $12.50 to the NU address and found a lot of cars and their bus. The building was empty no furniture or anything and no NU employees. They looked closed.I see other google reviews had the same issue of them being closed as I did.I grabbed another Uber for $20 to my hotel. I had no car for the evening which was a inconvenience.Woke up next morning tried to call NU for half hour then reserved a car with enterprise. So another $12.50 for Uber to Enterprise. And the cost of the car per day was way more than the NU price so the cost of the vacation just went way up from what was expected.I will check when I get home if NU charged me or not. I will update the review if they do or dont.Please spread the word about how bad NU is and lets shut this scam of a company down.

They are a bunch of crooks. They make you purchase additional car insurance that isnt required. When you book through a real car rental company like Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, etc., you can decline the insurance if you pay with American Express. At this agency, they say that Amex only covers collision, but it does not cover liability. No other major car rental agency in the world makes you buy additional liability insurance. This is what happens when you have to go offsite to the shadiest part of fort lauderdale, just to save an extra $10, only to pay an additional $11.99 that you werent expecting to pay. I would have turned around and walked right out, but there were no other car rental companies around, and I was already in a hurry to get to my hotel. If youre looking to save an extra $10 on your vacation, I suggest finding cheaper dining options, or using coupons where you can, but do not try to save money by booking with these crooks. Go to a real car rental company that wont rip you off. And if you do book with these criminals, make sure to use Amex and then dispute the charges.
Booked on Expedia. Directed to call the shuttle for transportation from the airport, we were told it would be there in 15 minutes. An hour later, no shuttle and they were not answering their phones. Took a cab to their address, which was NOT where they were located.. after wandering around for half an hour, we finally found the closet they are operating from, which had no sign outside or any indication that they were there.. showed them my booking confirmation, and already purchased insurance- 1st, they didnt have a car ready for me. They literally told me I would have to wait until another customer dropped off a car. 2nd, they told me I had to purchase additional insurance on top of the insurance I had already paid for. 3rd, they required a $1000 deposit. Yes, one thousand. As I was arguing about this, a customer returned, and the clerk said theres your car as a family of 4 was piling out of it... they werent even going to clean it! What a joke. Do NOT use this company!

What can I say, I should have read these bad reviews first when I booked this No Name car rental company at Fort Lauderdale Airport because of the low price.LOOK ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR VACATION.Their shuttle bus did not show up at the bus stop 7. I waited as other car rental shuttles came and left several times. I called their number which rang about 8 times and then disconnected. I then spoke to others waiting for them and one told me they told him that they have no electricity and no cars. I called Orbitz and they confirmed that they had no cars. I had to book with another car company (or be stranded) and pay $150/day as opposed to the $12/day listed with NU Green.
Dont DO it !! you MUST use their toll pass for 12$ an hour... very incompetent venezuelans
Got there at 3 p.m. on a Thursday, door was locked, called and no one picked up, so we waited in the rain until someone got there. Walked in, looked around and walked out. I would never think about renting from this place.

This place is so unprofessional my flight landed at 9:30 they told me that the shuttle will be there shortly, I waited for and hour to find out the place was closed and the shuttle never showed. I was stranded and forced to pay a lot more for my rental elsewhere.
Horrible horrible horrible they charged us for insurance 2 times wouldn’t give a reimbursement or help in anyway!!!!! Our 150 car rental turned into 850.!!! Don’t rent from these guys

Bad choice! The advertised price is not real because u are required to pay an additional insurance of almost US $ 16 a day, which doubles the price of other rental locação.E u can decline this seguro.O service is lousy, nasty, time-consuming ( only have one person to meet !!!), and is located outside the Miami airport, and only have one van to fetch and carry local customers.The where they are installed is horrible without nenhum.Enfim comfort, it was the worst store that I have used until today.Stay away !!!!
OJOOOO SCAM ALERTNowhere does it say that your credit card insurance does not work with them and they force you to pay exorbitant prices for insurance that is mandatory according to them and a value of tolls as if you were traveling throughout the USA at all times, horrible experience and you they steal money because they do not return it. Seriously, DO NOT CHOOSE.My partner wanted to surprise me and take care of everything including the car, I normally rent with lots of other companies and I never complain, but our experience was excruciating. 1 hour waiting at post 7 we called more than 20 times, never answered or the line never worked. Then arrived there, its funny the prices we change and in addition to waiting 1 hour for the shuttle from the airport to NÜ, the car was not ready we waited another 1h15. The staff was in no way emphatic of the situation, they were sometimes even arrogant. One of the employers does not know at all what he is doing, to say it will cost you $ 20 extra for the week in insurance but in the end they tell us ahhhhh finally it is $ 20 PLUS PER DAYS. So the other reviews that I read, I understand your history with this company 100%. Once again DO NOT GO WITH NÜ.
