Nice people here. I took my Riccar in for some minor work and they made short work of it. They always do excellent work for me and are always happy to see me. their new place down close to Riverside seems to give them more room to work and a nice little display area up front as well.

I own a busy housecleaning service in Northern CO. Foothills Vacuum (Nick and Heather) take care of all of my vacuum needs. I have purchased all 11 of our upright vacuums and 5 stair vacs from these wonderful people. When one vacuum stops working properly, they take care of my maintenance needs with honesty, integrity and thoroughness. If you support local businesses, please support this local, family owned business.

Nick and Heather run an outstanding vacuum sales and repair business! I own a cleaning company in Broomfield (We Care Home Cleaning) and I drive to Ft Collins just to have Nick take care of my vacuum servicing needs, and to purchase new vacuums for my business. Nick knows everything there is to know about vacuums, and hes taught me how to take good care of my vacuums and get the most life out of them. Friendly, knowledgeable, honest and professional, Nick and Heather are great people who will take excellent care of you no matter what your vacuum related need is!!

Took my 1 year old deep-carpet cleaner to get fixed because the scrubbing heads stopped spinning. I was charged (& paid) $40 just to open the unit, then additional fees for parts and labor to fix it. Got it home and it still didnt work.....Took it back and finally it was fixed. I was charged the $40 again to re-open the unit and additional parts and labor which took the price soaring over the original cost of the unit when it was new. I was given the option of leaving it for them to sell (at their profit) instead of paying the additional fees that were owed, an offer I reluctantly accepted. In hindsight, I feel duped out of my original $40 to open the unit, parts & labor to originally fix the unit, and the cost of the unit itself! I dont understand why I was charged a second time to open it when it didnt get fixed correctly the first time and the additional-ADDITIONAL fees felt very Price-Gouging. It seemed offensive to the staff when I asked about the additional fees and costs, I left extremely frustrated but happy to be done with the entire situation.Edited To the owner: there is definitely no confusion with me dropping this machine off at your location of Foothills Vacuum and it seems unprofessional to re-direct blame on any other NoCo business. Also, I never once mentioned the word estimate in my review, I paid for these services.....your techs did the work (twice to get it fixed correctly) then you kept my machine AND the original money I paid to have it fixed. Most people call that double-dipping or taking advantage of a customer, to me it feels like theft. I do not need to call you as I never plan to use your services again and am not looking for any further resolution with your business besides sharing this honest review.VERY happy to share with others about my experience at Foothills Vacuum & Sewing

I was extremely reluctant to buy a new vacuum cleaner in Fort Collins after being treated unscrupulously years ago at a different vacuum shop on College Ave.. However, Trevor of Foothills Vacuum clearly communicated his expertise and I feel 100% confident I purchased the right vacuum for my expensive and delicate Berber carpet, and at a fair price. Also like another reviewer noted, he did not try to oversell me. He steered me away from a pricier model that was worse for my needs. After Trevor repaired my old Dyson for $10, I call him the vacuum whisperer. As to follow up visits on my new vacuum (maintenance and warranty work), the service has been concierge service.

We have been to Foothills Vacuum & Sewing Center on several occasions over the past ten years. We purchased at this store a very fine well made Riccar vacuum made in the USA. I have found all of the people at Foothills Vacuum & Sewing Center to be friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and Customer Service oriented. Their return policy on parts for both Vacuums and Sewing Machines is very fair and amicable; their service has always been very fair, courteous, and timely. We look forward to continuing our buying and servicing experience with Foothills Vacuum & Sewing Center as they genuinely embrace the long tradition of the Mom and Pop type retail store environment that has slowly given way to the cold and impersonal big box store cultures. If you want to have that truly friendly, knowledgeable buying experience you will enjoy the Foothills Vacuum & Sewing Center.

Everything is serviced there and they are all was on time. I really enjoy there products and services.

Dishonest. My vacuum stopped working, so I brought it into Foothills Vacuum & Sewing for repair. Reuben, the man at the counter, suggested I opt for the $30 full service vs. the $10 diagnostic. This was because with the full service option any diagnostics and repair labor would be included. I received a call a few days later stating they had determined the problem. A new cord reel was needed. The new part would cost $187 and it would be an additional $50 in labor - so $267 total if you add in the $30 service fee. They also wanted me to make payment in full over the phone before they began work. I told them to hold off while I thought about it. I called a friend who owns a vacuum shop out of state as well as J&M Vac on College here in Fort Collins. They both confirmed that the new part actually retails for $120, and also said that there is a fix for this particular problem and my total out of pocket should only be about $60. I expressed my frustration to Foothills Vacuum, and paid only their $10 diagnostic fee, picked up my vacuum, and took it to J&M.They lost my business on that repair and Ill never set foot in their store again - not even to buy bags. Fortunately Im only out $10 an a few hours of my life. Hopefully this review costs them some more business, but most importantly will help you avoid lost time, money, and frustration dealing with this dishonest business.

I took my Dyson in and they looked at it for 10 seconds and knew what was wrong. He flipped over the vacuum and spent 30 seconds fixing the problem and explaining how I could fix it if it happened again. They didnt try and sell me anything or say they needed to hold the vacuum to fix it and they didnt charge me. Ill go back for my future vacuum repair needs.

Have bough 2 Riccar standup units from these folks, the first one about 3 years ago. I did run into one guy who was not helpful IN THE PAST. But its all been good to excellent in the last year.Last night I brought in my original vacuum that was choked with pet hair and belt was shredded (all pretty much my fault). Great guy (sorry I forgot his name!) who fixed it on the spot and it was less than $40 for belt and bearing/whatever the other part was. there was a 2nd service guy and he was helping another with her vacuum on the floor - Im pretty sure her experience was very positive as well.Give these guys a try! Buy local and buy one of these really good American vacuums if you can!
