I see Dr. Ray Vaughn and can honestly say he is the absolute best. He is extremely helpful and compassionate! He always has a solution or plan for anything you may be dealing with. The staff is also extremely nice and caring. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new dermatologist.

Just had my first visit today but I was very pleased. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and the whole appointment was very quick and efficient. Knowledgeable staff. Will be back if the need arises.

Do not go here. It has come to my attention that they never billed my secondary insurance even though I told them I have primary and secondary insurance and they failed to tell me “ they don’t take secondary insurance” when I had my visit. I have never had a doctor say they can’t take secondary insurance. This came to light because my husband needed to get moles checked out. The lady who books the appointment failed to mention again that they “ don’t take secondary insurance “ and happily booked my appointment and didn’t say anything after I said we have primary and secondary insurance. He gets to the office to fill out the paperwork and on their intake form they have a place for you to write the information for your primary and secondary insurance...But yet they don’t take secondary insurance . Horrible customer service and billing nightmare. We will not be back.

The team here is awesome! They are friendly, supportive, helpful....all with a great attitude! Ray is knowledgeable and spot on! I really appreciate his ability to recognize concerns early on. The team rocks!

Update: Wow...The office fails where patient care and appropriate follow up is concerned...that is a major issue, but you get the feeling you are just another number. The people at the front desk keep asking for my insurance card each visit. Really..?? Dont they have it on file already?? This medical practice lost a star in my evaluation. There are many medical providers out there and I can no longer recommend this one to my readers.What a difference a bit of time makes. I started seeing the doctor here for specific treatment. About one month ago, I return for a follow-up appointment and I tell them I am out if medicine. The nurse promptly tells me I should have gotten a blood test. I told her where was that written for me to do a blood test. No response. I go to get what I thought was the appropriate test and the phlebotomists takes my blood for the test. She tells me the doctors office failed to put in paperwork and tells me I need to call the office to find out when the test order was submitted and for what test. I am told by the office that the paperwork has already been submitted. This was a lie. The pharmacy is calling asking me to contact the doctors office because they are giving the pharmacy the run around about filling the perscription. I called the dermatologist office only to be told that I need another blood test. The female voice advises that she will contact me as soon as possible after the results are back to ensure that I can go get the medication. I did call and ask what was going on and was told someone would call me back. It has been over a month and I have not gotten that return phone call. I did however get a bill for missing an appointment after I responded to a text message to cancel my upcoming appointment and I did follow up with a phone call to cancel that same appointment. No questions were asked by this office as to whether or not I received the phone call that was promised earlier. Why bother sending out text messages when no one bothers to read or record the responses? Seems to me, this office is definitely after the money and not the patient care. They were quick to follow up on the missed appointment with a $50 office charge for missed appointment, but not perscription medication that I needed nor the pharmacy request. I have found that any doctors office can be made great by staff personnel keeping patients updated and just good patient care or just return phone calls when promised. Also, responding to the pharmacy calls would be a plus.Initial Review: (6) months ago...This is a modern office with new items that appear in the office. The staff and nurses are very friendly and seem professional.

Oh boy let me get started, i’ve been going here ever since i was little, my brother had also been going here until he turned 18 and it was a really good place and until i was trying to go into actuane to fix my acne then everything went down hill. there was this one nurse assistant who 1. didn’t wear her mask when i stepped into the office until a doctor was there and 2. has proceeded to be really cold and unprofessional to my mother and i, we have had nothing but problems since we tried to get on acutane my advice would be if you or your child want to get on acutane i would recommend going to a different dermatologist. the only good thing about this place would be one doctor named doctor Ray we loved him.

Seems like every person I was in contact at this place didnt care about me as a patient, more so just a number. The nurse rushed me and didnt let me finish the new patient forms, asked me to finish them inside while the doctor was seeing me. The nurses attitude was sassy and unprofessional overall. The doctor didnt check my acne or skin. Sat in front of me and within the first 3 minutes had a prescription already for me. Didnt ask any questions to lead him to the two prescriptions. I didnt feel like I even talked to a doctor. To top it all off, when I checked out the lady at front was not helpful with my insurance coverage, I had to basically do her job, explain what the insurance covers, and still dared to charge me the full amount as if I didnt have insurance. I have never felt more disrespected as a patient as I did at this facility.

I felt very welcomed and comfortable being my first time. The staff members were very kind and respectful. From the moment in and out went smoothly and stress free.

If you take anything from my review, let it be that 4 stitches were missed in my incisions!! I had to remove them myself because they became incredibly irritated! The doctor should have checked my incisions instead of having a nurse half way cut the stitches out and send me on my way! I had 6 moles shaved and sent off for a biopsy. The first set of 3 went well. The 2nd set of 3 the nurse kept mixing up the labels for the location. Then I had to call for my results because nobody ever called me. Turned out two of those needed to be fully removed bc of possible cancer. So I made an appointment for that. The procedure to cut them out and put in stitches went fine, other than the fact that you are supposed to strip down with the windows open and the door opened. But I just had a baby so I honestly dont care since privacy went out the window with that. Then when I went back to have the stitches cut out, 4 stitches were left in. I had to pull them out on my own. During the entire process I kept having to remind everyone what spots were being cut out. Nobody seemed to know what was going on. The receptionist seem like they hate their job, the nurses act incredibly annoyed all the time, and the doctor seems to be pre occupied. They also completely butchered my prescription, I had to call 3 times to get it straightened out. Definitely go somewhere else!

Mr. Vaughn and his nurse did a great job! I appreciated his honesty and professionalism. You could tell he wanted me to be fully informed about my care before making any major decisions. I will definitely be back in 6 months for my next skin cancer scan!

My first visit here and it was as close to perfect as possible. Arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and got in to see Doctor Perez pretty much on time. He was able to evaluate my situation and schedule a follow-up. Ill certainly be back.

First, i had no problem making appointments for both my husband and myself within a couple of days. Kudos for this. The staff, both Leslie and Barbara very VERY attentive. Dr. Perez was very kind and seemed to be thorough in both of our skin checks. I had been going to another doctor in Grapevine for 10 years but now, wanted to find a doctor closer to home. I think weve found him. We will see him next year. Our overall experience was excellent and the wait time was within a few minutes of the scheduled appointment.

The medical knowledge, expertise and care is tops. Having been to several other dermatologists over the years I can say FMD is excellent. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid Flower Mound Dermatology and Dr. Isaac Perez.I went in get a mole checked. It was on my back in a place I couldnt see without a mirror, so when in the exam room I pointed to the area. When I got home I see they did the biopsy on a completely different mole.They later tell me I need to get it removed, so I go back. Dr. Perez did not speak to me at all in the exam room. The nurse barely spoke to me either.Long story short, months down the line Im fighting with their billing company because services were performed that I was never informed of or asked to consent to. Their proof that I consented is a digital signature on a document that they never presented to me to read.Dont visit Flower Mound Dermatology. I was a patient here for over a decade seeing Ray, but my single experience with Dr. Perez will make me never visit again.

The front office staff could have been more personal during the check in process, but the balance of the visit was excellent. They took me to the exam on time. The nurse took my information and Dr Perez came in a few minus later. He was personal and efficient in correcting the issue for the visit. Checkout was smooth and friendly. I was out of the office within 15 minutes of my schedule time.

I was quite surprised to read some of the remarks made by obviously some disgruntled people. Maybe they are just naturally that way. My experience was better than excellent and I will recommend this office to everyone I know for any dermatology concerns. I checked in and was greeted by a friendly person at the front desk and waited about 5 minutes before a nurse called my name. I met with the doctor who looked at my condition and wrote a prescription and I was told to come back in 2 weeks if it did not clear up. Well it cleared up and I am very happy. He was very nice and very professional so I then made an appointment for my husband who had something more serious that required a surgery. Everything went very smoothly and he is very pleased with the results. So I highly recommend this office for anyone who wants good dermatology services and care.

Well the staff was nice, the assistant I had was great, however before I placed my appointment I specifically asked if this was covered under my preventative care, I was assured it was. When I called after getting a bill, I was educated that no it was not. Which would have been fine, if I had not previously asked the question and gotten an affirmative. Just disappointing how this was handled. I was then given a lesson by Jennifer about this without an apology, but an excuse about new staff and the assumption I did not use the proper vernacular (I work in healthcare so I know I did). The whole experience could have been better handled with a slight note of apology, and without the condescending educational lesson, if I would have been given the proper information at the beginning I would have made an educated decision.Despite this, Vaughn was very pleasant and informative. So definitely would recommend him.

I have been struggling with menopausal hormonal acne for over a year and it was really weighing on my self esteem. I made an appointment and saw the PA at FM Dermatology yesterday. He was amazing and his nurse that was in the office with him was very friendly as well. He was very understanding, new his stuff, and gave me reassurance that he has a plan to help me clear my acne. He ever implemented a back up plan in case the first plan is not effective. Either way I left the office knowing that in a few months I will have clearer skin. The front desk employee that checked me out was amazingly friendly and kind.

The first thing you notice at this clinic is how clean and organized it is, and how well the office staff functions. Theres little or no waiting, and no wasted time. Dr. Perez is smart and will easily explain what he sees the problem to be, and discuss how to treat it. He seemed a bit shy when I first started seeing him some 8 or 9 years ago; however, he seems to be very comfortable with others now, and his professionalism creates a lot of trust. Id recommend him to anyone looking for a good dermatologist.

I have been going to Dr. Perez since 2007. He is quiet, but he listens. His staff is just WONDERFUL. If someone did not have a good experience at that office, I would think there might be some issues with patient expectations and behavior. Patients need to be prepared with questions and must listen for answers, which will come, if a relationship is allowed.

Ive been seeing Dr Ray for years and every aspect of his service and those of his staff have been excellent. I also greatly prefer his Actinic keratosis removal method to others, since its more targeted and less destructive to non-affected areas

My daughter and I both had first appointments this week. Hers with PA, Ray; mine with Dr. Perez. I agree that Ray is more personable, Dr. Perez not as much. Both were competent and skilled at what they do. I was happy to be able to get in to be seen quickly (within 2-3 days). The practice that I previously went to told me the first available appointment was 6 weeks out; 8 weeks for a new appointment for my daughter. A friend in the health care industry recommended this practice. I was glad for the referral.

I love Flower Mound Dermatology. They were the 4th doctor I had taken my son to for a skin condition. He was misdiagnosed 3 other places. Dr. Perez took one look at the rash and correctly diagnosed it. It has been treated and now is in remission. We go every 6 months for a checkup. There are very short waits in the waiting room. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Isaac Perez’s office accommodated me with an appointment on short notice (which helped tremendously being that I am from out of town). The first staff member I met was Nurse Rebecca. She was absolutely amazing. She has a very comforting approach on retrieving patient’s history. She was extremely easy to communicate and discuss dermatology issues.Dr. Perez is very professional, knowledgable, and to the point with my diagnosis. I trusted him with my care as I immediately understood that my skin problem was not his first encounter (as was with my PCP). Please understand that Dr. Perez will not charm you with a silver tongue like a used car dealer. He listens, ask questions, gives his diagnosis, and suggests his treatment.And last, the Flower Mound Dermatology office was up to date with furnishing and equipment. The waiting room and examination room were comfortable.

I have been going to Flower Mound Dermatology for approximately 3 years now, based on a recommendation from a friend. I was scheduled with Ray Vaughn, and was very satisfied. A true professional! He comes in, asks you if you have any questions/concerns, and so far has answered all my questions with competence and in a manner which is easy to understand. He also gives you options, and explains each one. Procedures he has performed on me have been great. My wife also sees Ray for visits, and he found a potentially cancerous spot which was removed. Thank you, Ray! I have used Silvia for removal of spots under my eyes, and again, knowledgeable, and just a sweet person. I was never scheduled with Dr. Perez, but that is just because availability was easier with Ray. And he is excellent, so why switch? The office in general has been nothing short of courteous to me and my family. If the ladies up front seem straight forward, well thats because they are. I would rather have competent, curt, receptionists, than airheads that mess up appointments and billing! With that said, I have found them to be very nice to me. Very sad to hear of a couple of negative reviews, and this is not reflective of the treatment I have received at this wonderful place. This is the internet, after all. 1. I’m a new patient as of today - called Monday (yesterday) and had an appointment the next day.2. I was called in immediately after checking in and3. ...was in the patient room no more than 3 minutes before Ray walked in.4. I’ve been to six dermas in the past 4 years for hormonal cystic acne at age 52 and learned more from Ray in 20 minutes than I’ve learned in the past years.

I was scared to remove birthmark for few years, but Dr. Perez made it so quick and pain free, i felt very comfortable and welcome in the office. Thank you Doctor, I am able to come back to normal life.

One of the worst experiences Ive ever had with the front desk staff. On my initial phone call with them, whoever answered was very hard to understand because of the muffled voice. I had to repeat myself a thousand times. I thought it was just the phone, but when I got into the office, I realized why. Both ladies I dealt with were rude and condescending. While checking in, she rolled her eyes at me! Are you kidding! Their jobs are to be customer facing. My request to email a copy of my insurance card does not constitute that kind of rude behavior. Then she began spouting out the email address while I was writing my name on the check-in sheet. When I asked her to wait a second, she scoffed. I am seriously in shock. If the doctor there wasnt so great, I would never walk back in those doors.

I wish I had read these reviews before I made an appointment. The person on the phone took a lot of information from me. I asked if they took my insurance and she said yes, but failed to tell me that I required a referral upfront. I should have been suspicious about being able to book an appointment so quickly! I arrived there this morning to encounter a receptionist who at first could only find my information, not my actual appointment (!), and who was then very ruder and told me that it was my responsibility to know that I needed the referral!! Needless to say, I walked out.

Went for acne problems. Saw dr. Perez - definitely not the most personable guy. Didnt even look at my face close enough. Cashier at Walmart has more enthusiasm than dr. Perez. Prescribed gel and pills even though I told him I am against pills. I am sure he is qualified and knows what he is doing but I felt like he either doesnt like what he is doing or just not interested in getting to know his new patient at all.Not coming back.

Dr. Perez and his team are engaged, professional, easily offer information and ...they are on time! :o)

I was not happy with my new patient experience.**The front desk insisted a needed a referral from my primary care Dr. which not correct. I had to call my insurance from their office to verify I could be seen.**It took 45 mins to be seen by the Dr.**I went to the pharmacy to collect my prescription 3 days later and they didnt have it.**Called the office & left a message, never got a call back.**Checked with the pharmacy again, still no prescription...called office again.**Went to Lab as directed for blood work, and the orders were not there as promised.Unless you have all day to follow up, DONT GO TO THIS OFFICE.

Dr. Perez was very nice and listened to all of my concerns. I was having acne issues and hair loss. He gave me medicine for both the acne and hair loss and reassured me I would not go bald. I will admitt after reading some of the other older reviews I was not not sure what to expect from Dr. Perez but I was happlily surpirsed. He was caring and I left his office feeling relieved about my acne and hair loss. He said it most likely due to hormone issuses. He wanted to see me in 2 months to talk about my hair loss or lack of and make sure the medicine he had given my was working.The office staff is very friendly and the office is clean and modern looking.

This is the worst Dermatologist I have EVER been too.The staff has horrible attitudes, the doctors are incompetent and their follow through is non existing.DO NOT ATTEND THIS OFFICE IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR CO-PAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
