We recently booked a two day rafting trip through this company, which they then outsourced. The outsourced company then put us in a boat with leaks, lost our lunch, provided no cool drinks to assist with overheating, had the group prepare camp, off load the boat and help prepare dinner. Dinner was steaks eaten by hand, the next day we were served beans in a tortilla for lunch and had engine issues. My teen boys had a horrible experience which I feel could have been avoided by simple preparation and if we had a crew with actual experience. I brought this all to the attention of Rivers and Oceans whom passed the buck to their second tier company whom I did not book through and have refused to make the situation right. I would suggest caution when booking with them.

Went yesterday with my boyfriend for our anniversary. We did the 1 day rafting trip, and it was amazing! Perfect amount of rapids and calm waters for you to recover afterwards. We had planned to book the helicopter tour and skywalk package which we were told to add the day of, but the receptionist notified us those are only available Thurs-Sunday. We were a bit bummed out as that information wasn’t available on the website or in any emails we received before the trip, so if you’re looking to do that I guess the weekend is the way to go! We would’ve definitely rescheduled for a different day had we known that earlier. Other than that, our guide was amazing and super informational! Group sizes were perfect too!

One of the coolest experiences in my life. Highly recommend bringing a warm jacket, waterproof jacket/poncho, and waterproof pants. Even though it seems hot, the water is 40-something degrees and you will get splashed during the first part with the rapids and will freeze otherwise.

My 12 year old son and I experienced just an amazing time with the two day/one night river rafting trip on the Colorado river. The guides were very knowledgeable not only about rafting/camping, but also the geological and cultural history of this part of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Not only was it jaw-droppingly beautiful, but it was also culturally and historically enlightening. Thank you for the Hualapai tribe for sharing their home with us!

Had a good time rafting but was a little bit long. Started out where one boats engine wouldnt start so we were delayed an hourMultiple boats broke down and at the end we ran out of gas and had to be towed in. Was a total of 12 hours and could have been shortened down to 5-6 hours. Dennis was very professional to accommodate the broken down boats but took away from our experience. Equipment was unreliable but staff was professional. Glad I did it but wouldnt recommend it or do it again.

I booked an overnight rafting trip in the western part of the Grand Canyon through O&R, and could not have been happier with their service. We had many questions, including what to bring, what to expect, Covid precautions, etc. Each time we called, I was impressed with the attention and follow up of their team. I would not hesitate to book through them again.

The entire experience with this company was great. We received fantastic customer service over the phone with friendly voices and knowledgeable staff. The email communications gave good information beforehand to know what to pack and what to expect. The river guides were absolutely phenomenal and provided interesting knowledge and interactions with us, yet kept their distance when we wanted to just chat with our family. It was the perfect balance of engagement and distance. They were super fun and gave us excitement at the rapids, allowed us to jump in the river at calm points and float for a while, as well as experience a really cool waterfall cave. I do recommend to bring either a long sleeve shirt or a ton of sunscreen though (roughly 1 spray-on bottle per person). Youll also want multiple GoPro batteries or a phone battery charger as youll take entirely too many photos and videos considering how gorgeous the views are!

I went on a trip booked through Rivers & Oceans with the CRATE company (Colorado River & Trail Expeditions) that was an 11 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon that was absolutely incredible. I had the most amazing time and got so lucky with incredibly river-savvy, knowledgeable, fun, and talented guides. The food was even great! We did some fun hikes in the side canyons. We chose a non-motorized trip so there were oar-boats and a paddle boat and I highly recommend that versus the motorized trips though I cant directly compare. It seemed like there were a lot of people on the motor boats which is why I say that. The other people on the trip were great. Time of my life. I wish I could have stayed down there even longer. Definitely not for those who need a real bathroom every night but for people who enjoy the outdoors without all the usual creature comforts you cant help but love this trip!

We took the Grand Canyon - 3 days rafting trip on June 14th. It was amazing.I usually almost always find some things that bother me when I travel or go to a restaurant etc. its just who I am. BUT....theres always first. and this trip was my first perfect experience.I cant even find one thing that was not ok on this trip. really. This is the first time I actually go on yelp to write a good review:) This trip was so well organized. Beyond my expectations...I must say. From the pick up at the hotel in vegas...thru the flight and the night we spent on Bar Ranch 10 and the helicopter down to the Canyon...Everything was just on point.Equipment was in excellent shape. Sleeping bag, sheets, pillow were clean and fresh. Our guide was very resourcful and used every minute to engage with information and story telling. Although hes doing it for 32 years, his enthusiasm felt like it was his first time. The food was great. During rafting....we had access to lots of water, sodas, snacks. And the jewel of this trip was the scenery. So beautiful. So relaxing. The night on the canyon was breathtaking. Living in LA doesnt often, if at all, let you see a clear sky. It was pitch dark at 9 pm and we got to see the most beautiful sky Ive ever seen. so many stars. amazing.I just realized that I actually do have one complaint - The water were freezing. So frickin cold:)))This trip has been on my bucket list for a long time.Im really happy I did it.Thank you Arizona River Runners. You rock!

Rivers & Oceans did a great job with the reservation setup, but the outfitter was a bust! We waited over one hour to picked up at the hotel. Then when we got to the river we again waited over an hour for the crew to get the boats setup and ready to go. So almost 3 hrs late to start this adventure.......Our river guide was smoking and drinking alcohol, in his generic bottle most of the non-alcohol trip. The food they prepared was plentiful and tasty and most of the crew worked hard to make this $$$$$ trip enjoyable. Perhaps better employees, better planning, and better equipment, would have made this trip more enjoyable. I would encourage rafting the grand canyon, just find a different outfitter!!!

Rivers & Oceans was wonderful in helping us book a rafting trip. The cost of everything was the same as if we went through the rafting company direct, but Megan, with River & Oceans, did all the research and arrangements, to make it easy for us. She was able to answer all of our questions, and reassure me of any anxiety or fears when I was in doubt of all the details. I told Megan what month I wanted to go, what type of boat, and how many days, and then she did all the research of the 15 or so companies that offer trips down the Colorado River. She helped us with transportation from the airport to our starting point, and also suggested hotels in the area after we got back to the airport. When Megan wasnt available, the other people stepped up and helped us with all the details, making us feel very confident with the entire staff. They assisted us with payments and making sure we had all the forms filled out that were necessary. Would highly recommend them, and will definitely us them again.

Decided to do a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon with my dad - we thought that you had to book rafting tours at least six months in advance, but Michelle was able to find us the perfect trip only 2 weeks out! She made every portion of planning easy; from hotel reservations to tiny details (like hiring a duffle service) that made the trip fantastic. I would 100% use this company again for future adventures!

I would give this trip a 10 star rating!!! Dave was the team leader and I cannot say enough about him and the team. Their first priority is your safety, followed by your comfort. The team was extremely well organized and prepared for anything. Dave was incredibly informative about history, geology, folklore. There was more than plenty of food and beverages throughout the entire trip. We went the first weekend in May, two boats, 9 vacationers in the group and we had the entire canyon to ourselves!!! We saw one day boat pass us on the first day and only one other day boat pass us the second day. We were told that in July they are very busy and the boats are lined up at some of the stopping places and so our experience was much more intimate and almost religious. This was our first time (we are city slickers) and we followed the tips provided by Rivers and Oceans which were very helpful. OUR TIP: You will not be able to access your belongings from the time they are first loaded onto the boats until you get to camp at the end of the first day and again from the morning of the next day until the trip is over. We recommend a small dry bag with a carabiner clip that you can clip on the inside of the boat. This bag should contain what you might need during the day when you wont have access to your stuff (sunscreen, lip balm, small towel, tissues, medications, rain gear). Also, on the last leg of the return trip 9after lunch) you will get sprayed quite a bit (ride is about 30 minutes, water was cold!) and we suggest a warm sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt with a waterproof hooded rain jacket over that.

Rivers & Oceans is an amazing river guide and booking company for the Grand Canyon and a variety of other river and ocean excursions. I went down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon with them last August and still think about the trip every morning when I wake up and see the incredible pictures I took hanging on my wall. Rafting the Grand Canyon was an incredible experience made even more so by the staff and service of Rivers & Oceans... I Highly recommend them to anyone looking for an adventure!

Hualapi River Runners were the guides for my 2 day 1 night trip white water rafting in the Grand Canyon. Randy, Amber, Leonard, & Louis were the team of incredible guides that were able to take 2 raft loads of people of varying skill levels, down a 2 day river adventure of a lifetime! They were such a great team together! They were kind, caring, humorous, interesting, informative, experienced leaders! They were able to turn all of us into a part of THE team & thats what we were the entire trip, one big team! The rapids part of the trip was challenging but not in a frightening way, I knew I was in safe & capable hands with our guides. All of our stops for hiking/munching & lunching & cooling off in the water were very well organized. They worked together to get our lunch of cold-cuts with condiments, fruit, chips, & plenty of liquids set up in short time. During a couple float moments we were able to see some Big Horn Sheep & the centennial plant was in bloom (only happens 1 time in 100 years). When we reached our overnight camping stop the crew organized all of us into a fire line to unload everyones supplies easily & efficiently, & while we all put our tents up & readied our camping spot for the night the guides were setting up, preparing, & cooking our wonderful meal of charcoal grilled steaks, homemade mashed potatoes, salad, grilled corn on the cob, & lemon bars for dessert! There was a large assortment of liquids to choose from as well & the food & drinks provided were in over abundance, nobody went hungry or thirsty!! We had a wonderful social circle that evening & watched the stars make their bright appearance after dark. Our breakfast was as delicious as the dinner the night before! Our second day on the river was extremely relaxing & the stops were again planned & executed wonderfully. There was a wonderful walk into Surprise Canyon where we quizzed Leonard on his rock identifying experience.....he impressed us with his knowledge of the Canyon, its geological elements, political issues, the history of the first explorers, etc. watching the Canyon walls slowly changing shape & looking at the Canyon from that whole new perspective on bottom looking up. When we docked at the end of our trip, there were plenty of hugs & well wishes from everyone there! The last leg of the trip was the helicopter ride. The crew that checked us in for that & the pilot were the last people that we encountered & they were all just as wonderful. this is one of those epic once in a lifetime experiences, & this company excelled at providing top notch entertainment!

Words fail me. Epic, amazing, incredible, sacred, cold. All of these dont feel quite right. From the ride down into the canyon to the river trip and the helicopter out, worth every cent. We did this for my hubbys 50th and it did not disappoint. One tip, no matter what someone on shore says, wear your rain gear no matter how hot it may seem, that water is COLD. We had both Randys as our guides, they were both awesome. Navajo Randy was super knowledgeable about the canyon and the local Hualapai histories, quiet Randy was a beast on the level 7/8 rapids! Loved the hotel too! The west rim trip I prolly could have skipped it was super crowded and after being on the river in nature with just the folks with us it was a bit underwhelming to me personally.
