I HIGHLY recommend this shop!!! I went up to flagstaff for the day and had some trouble with my truck. They were quick, efficient, and all for a fair price. The shop owner, Mike, did the work himself and saved the part he replaced so he could show me and explain to me what was wrong with the vehicle. His wife, Sage, was great and even drove us to the movie theater so we didn’t have to sit at the shop and wait. Great people running a great local business!!!

Michael Faul is AMAZING! He explained everything so I could understand exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. No problems getting in and they were efficient and fast. When I brought my car in Sage even offered to give me a ride to where I needed to go. They know their stuff! They will go out or their way for anyone! They are honest and fair. Their prices may have gone up a little but they are so worth it! I will highly recommend these guys for any car repairs or needs!

Great experience here every time. They got to the bottom of an irritating noise that other mechanics I’d been to never did, after I’d given up on diagnosing it for a while since it was apparently not going to cause my car to break down. It’d been back twice to the shop in MN that had replaced the sway bar, as well as one other place with no solution.Another time they were working late in the evening to make sure I got my car back in time for work the next morning, which was much appreciated. I work 6-7 days a week and need my car for much of that to transport supplies, so I’m thankful for the quick turnarounds and time estimates so I can plan accordingly. I’ve been to several different shops with it due to multiple moves and cross country drives but I’m happy to have found a place in Flagstaff that I’ll keep going back to when needed.

Amazing Service.My family and I were traveling from California to Florida when the transmission in our van went out in Flagstaff, AZ. I looked around for a shop and found that John Rogers had high ratings so I took our van there. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and Thursday morning I took the van in to get it looked at.After a thorough inspections I was told that a new transmission would need to be installed. The problem is that the delivery guy delivers on Thursdays and Tuesdays and since I had missed the deadline for the Thursdays shipment, the shop could only get the transmission on Tuesday. The solution that John and his wife came up with was to go to the shop themselves and pick up the transmission. They drove 159 miles, each way, (that is 318 miles) to get the transmission for our van and have it that day so that they could put it in Friday.This shop went way above and beyond to make sure that we could get the help we needed, get back on the road and not spend so many days in a hotel.Thank you John Rogers Transmission Man!!!! We are very grateful and may God continue to bless you, your shop and the wonderful staff you have there.

This is the most honest and helpful transmission shop you could hope for. We damaged the transmission on our RV and had to leave our trailer in the forest. When John, the owner, heard this, he used his own vehicle, we picked up our trailer and brought it to his shop. He and his wife genuinely want to help others. He strives to help people smile, especially about their transmissions.

I’ve seen a few negative reviews, but mostly positive. Me myself are happy with them & would recommend them to anyone. My car blew a water pump, they had a new 1 on in an hour.Even though that wasn’t the problem, they checked out the compression just not enough.So for $800.00 to drop a new one isn’t bad.Sage, Michael, Shane were all good. So the motor is being shipped to them. The last dummy’s to work on the car left the 2 front motor mount bolts out. Anyway Sage Michael & the crew. Went to Flagstaff on vacation, my car started overheating while out and about and after trying two other mechanics I ended up coming here. So glad I did, not only were they able to diagnose the issue really quickly, the prices were so low that I ended up having them fix another issue Id been having. Now my car drives smoother than it ever did before and I dont worry about it leaking and overheating again. Not to mention how genuinely friendly and easy-to-talk-to the staff is. Id highly recommend these guys!

Michael and the crew here are top notch. They go out of their way to help the community. They work with people who need the help financially to keep them working. They are honest and do excellent work. You dont see too many people going out on the roadside to help people in the middle of the night when they are supposed to be home with their families. Brought my truck in for a flush and filter change on 8/19/20. I also wanted a diagnosis on some clunking going on during the first few shifts of the day. I had suspected it was the torque converter because that wasnt changed when I had a re-built transmission put in 5 years earlier but didnt tell them that because I wanted to see what they thought.FYI I was not aware the transmission shop that did they previous work didnt install a new torque converter with the re-built until a year after it was installed because I just assumed a reputable place would do that or at least ask me if I wanted it done. They didnt do either.Joe was the tech that did the filter change, fluid change, and did the test drive after the changes. He came up with the same conclusion that the torque converter needed to be changed out soon but it wasnt an emergency. So instantly I knew this place doesnt rip people off because he came up with the same conclusion as me.When I was leaving I couldnt get the truck into any gear which was a first. I went and got Joe and he said the cable popped out and put it back in. He need to remove the cable to do the changes. About an hour later I was on the other side of town and the cable popped out again. I called the shop and talked to Joe and he said the cable probably needed to be swapped out because the fitting was worn out.About an hour later he came to where I was and put the cable back in. I then followed him back to the shop. They had already ordered a new cable for me. Joe installed the cable and didnt charge me labor.Joe obviously went the extra mile to help me out which I definitely appreciate. These guys are honest people and I would definitely recommend them.

This placing is amazing! I was in a bind and had to have someone look at my car on a Sunday (I need my car for work) it was grinding and making horrible noises. They invited me in to look at the car. They had walked me through what was wrong how to place the band aid (where to do that on the car) until it was time for a repair. I was in and out in less than 30 min with an estimate. An Amazing crew of people!

I cant say enough good stuff about this place. We were in Arizona on vacation this past summer when our van broke down. I was able to get it to the John Rogers Transmission Man shop, and they took a look at it. The van was about 14 years old and they told me it needed a new transmission, which would cost thousands of dollars, which is way more than we wanted to put into it. Not to mention the fact that we were on vacation and didnt have time to hang around town while that work got done. So we decided to buy a new car. Carol (I think that was her name) was amazing and recommended car dealerships, rental car agencies, etc. for me. She even offered to have her husband drive me to a car rental place. Since the car wasnt really running, she even let us leave the car on her lot for a few weeks while we bought a new car, finished up our vacation, made it back home, and then coordinated someone to go pick the van up from her lot. Oh, and did I mention that she did all this FOR FREE?!?!? Simply amazing. So we didnt have any work done by them, but if the level of service they gave me is any indication of how they treat the rest of their customers, which I assume it is, then I can only assume they do top-notch work in the rest of their business as well. If we lived in Flagstaff, I would be their customer for life!

My daughter Tiffany and I are very grateful for the help and concern weve recieved. We have had many men check our car but they only checked the oil. We stopped at Transmission Man and it took a woman Carolyn Rodgers to check the transmission fluid for us which was very low, which no one else had checked. Dropped off my 2003 Chevy earlier this week and wrote down every thing that has been going on with the transmission and my previous experience at the Chevy Service Department. They have no clue of what theyre doing as far as the office is concerned you go in one day they tell you one thing going the next day they tell you another the lady that runs the office is one of the owners I went there to see if they would work on my camper they said yes bring it to them Im winning the next day after I got it there they said they dont work on campers since Ive already told it there the only lady said she would look at have them look at it they did nothing and then lost my keys and she tried to blame me for the Los all they did was cause me headaches in time since I had to tow it to another shop. Go figure

John and his staff are extremely honest, friendly and accommodating. Best of all, they are fantastic at what they do: fix cars! I had an issue with my car, where it sounded like a small airplane, for over a year. Word-of-mouth led me to Johns shop and they were able to diagnose the issue and fix it quickly and for an affordable rate. I was so pleased with the service that I had them replace my brakes for me several weeks later. John himself drove around town for a bit in my car to make sure that everything was working as it should be. Great work and service provided with honesty and compassion at a fair rate.As a bonus, the waiting area of the shop is the most awesomely quirky place you could be. Its almost like the house in Pee-Wees Big Adventure. John has art scattered all over and I am certain that you will see his kaleidoscopes in a museum one day!Fantastic place to have a car repaired!

Our 2004 Mountaineer required a new transmission and transfer case after breaking down in Flagstaff on a road trip from Dallas to the SF Bay area. Through the towing company we were referred to the Transmission Man. The initial replacement work took about one week but the transfer case provided by the supplier leaked oil. After 2 subsequent replacements the transfer cases continued to leak (The problem was the supplier unknowingly installing improper seals). Eventually Carolyn found a new Ford replacement transfer case that worked fine. During this long process both Carolyn and John were diligent and made extraordinary efforts to fix our car without increasing their initial bid or charging us for the extra time spent on their part to correct the suppliers problem. They kept us continually informed on the jobs progress and went the extra mile to insure that we received the best possible repair solution. They were committed to repairing our car at their own expense and even included unexpected price discounts. We unconditionally recommend them. They are without a doubt the most diligent and honest repair facility we have ever had the joy to work with.

My wife and myself were headed back to Colorado when the Transmission went out in our Tahoe. 70 miles south of Flagstaff so we called AAA for a tow and started to Google transmission shops. Transmission Man was rated high with several strong reviews. Carolyn and John are honest, knowledgeable and very good with their customers. Even had a good connection for a rental while a new transmission was installed. Its good to know that when you are at the mercy of a mechanic and business that there are honest ones out there to help. John Rogers transmission man was some of the best customer service I have ever received. I took my 1990 Ford F250 Diesel for a leaky transfer case. After I paid for it and brought it home i noticed it still leaked so I took it back and he found another leak and fixed it at no extra cost (he said the other leak should have been found the first time). Talk about being an honest person. they are all about the customer, and very knowledgeable in their work. everything was done in a timely fashion with quality work. I would recommend them to anyone. very friendly people as well.

We recently had a rather complicated issue with the clutch on our Jeep Liberty. Throughout the process Carolyn and John were nothing but professional and compassionate. They never tried to pull wool over our eyes and were very honest and open about the issues that they were finding with our Jeep. After having the clutch repaired the Jeep didnt want to shift into gear forcing us to have the Jeep towed back to their shop. After finding out the hydraulics had blown, Carolyn paid for our towing as this should have been caught earlier. When Carolyn initially quoted us on the hydraulics it came in around $480. When it was said and done our final bill came in at $386 due her finding the parts that came in a kit versus individually. Needless to say we were thrilled.I cannot tell you how pleased we are with their service and honesty. They have gained lifelong customers with us.Thanks much Carolyn and John!!

Had some transmission problems and sought this business out after reading their reviews and poor experiences at other shops, and I was really looking forward to visiting this shop. After a $200 and some odd dollar initial diagnostic service and no results I became a little skeptical (all other shops had offered a free initial diagnostic). After the first appointment I was told Id be receiving a call the following week which never happened. 2 weeks later I emailed them and was told again Id be receiving a call very soon which again 2 weeks later never happened. They seem to have a good knowledge about transmissions in general but their customer service is lacking and since no one will call me back its kind of hard to be a repeat customer at this business.

The service here was excellent! The staff was both friendly and knowledgable and kept me well informed on the progress of my car. My car was fixed in a timely fashion with no unforeseen charges. I would definitely recommend John Rogers Trans-Mission Man for any fix.

The transmission on my Lincoln Pick Up grenaded itself and I towed the car to Ford. After an outrageous quote I took it to the Trans-mission man and they made my truck a priority! They called me the next day with options and pricing. A classy business to work with for sure! A+ recommendation.My truck is running like a top and I have a great warranty too!

These guys and gal are awesome! Had a transmission fluid leak on our Honda Odyssey. We took it to the Honda dealership here in Flag and they wanted to replace the transmission for $5,700. We wanted a second opinion and went to the transmission man. They worked with us and helped us figure out that it was the seal on the axle causing the leak. All said and done it cost us about $330 for them to replace the seal and drain and replace the transmission fluid. So we saved over $5,000 by going with the transmission man instead of going to Honda. As a side note, we asked Honda specifically if it was the axle seal leaking and they told us they checked and it was definetely not that. We will avoid the Honda dealership when possible.

I went over to John Rogers Trans-mission Man with a problem with my passenger side door in my 1972 Volkswagen Beetle. The latch on the inside was stuck in a position which did not allow me to close the door at all, and try as I might, I could not get it to budge. When I arrived, I was greeted by one of the staff and I showed him the problem and he pretty much got to it right away, fixed and lubed the latch. He even did my drivers side door with no extra charge.I rate this Excellent because he was not only very friendly, but he knew exactly what to do and the charge for the service was not expensive. I will definetly be looking for future quotes for other issues that may arise.

My son and I were traveling west from eastern Canada to Las Vegas when the manual transmission in my 2002 Toyota Corolla failed just west of Flagstaff Arizona on I40. Keeping the car in the lower gears we were able to slowly get back to Flagstaff. The next morning I spoke with Julie at Trans-Mission Man and she kindly offered for them to look at the vehicle right away. By the time we got to the garage, Julie had arranged for a rental car. Both of these first experiences were good initial indicators of the service Trans-Mission Man provides.To keep costs down Julie was able to locate a used transmission in Phoenix and had shipped to Flagstaff. Joe, one of the Trans-Mission Man mechanics did an outstanding job in getting the replacement transmission installed. Its been working flawlessly since then.Julie then offered for me to stop by the shop on my return trip back east to do a quick check of the transmission, which I did.Trans-Mission Man provided honest service that resulted in a renewed reliable transmission and vehicle. Went into this shop today to simply find out what it would take to get a quote for installing a new transmission into my older truck. Going in I was quite willing to accept that no quote would be solid due to the fact that my motor was not original. I am also a highly experienced business man quite familiar with the need for understanding that quotes are not set in stone due to unforseen factors.After -trying- to go into full and clear detail about my truck John came into the discussion and totally ruined me on his business entirely. He would not stop ranting about how any price given would be worthless and any time I tried to talk to tell him I understood, even wanting to bring my truck in to have it looked at first for a more reliable quote, he repeatedly interrupted me and continued his rant. I literally counted 19 times that I repeated myself saying yes I understand that he continued to interrupt me even when I was trying to say that Id like to arrange a day to bring in my truck to be looked at. He spent probably 15 to 20 minutes dominating the conversation so much that I just wanted to leave (about 8 painful minutes before I almost decided to push past him).John Rogers, I suggest you let your desk lady do the talking. I will not be back and will drive to Phoenix for the work before I chance dealing with you.

The Trans-Mission Man is among the top three shops I have ever had the pleasure of visiting - car related or otherwise. Not only was their quote more than third less of what the dealerships were offering, but they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong (where dealerships were not), and are able to fix it in only a fraction of the time (three hours vs. three days). The staff disproved every single shady-mechanic stereotype at first chance: They were friendly, they responded to my requests, they went out of their way to save me a couple bucks, and they were more than happy to do so. A place like this is a rarity, and deserves all the business they can get! I will be returning to this store for every transmission problem I ever have, period. There is no comparison.

Well I finally got my pc back in service I can write this review.My experience was exemplary I told them I had a budget and they let me know every step of the way what they were finding and the cost, sadly the part that broke necessitated a rebuild but at least they didnt just tell me i needed a full replacement, like some places do. everyone here is nice and understanding about each individual situation and I felt like they truly cared.I will return.

After the worlds worst divorce and custody battle, I was driving halfway across the country (California to Texas) with my 2 little girls. Everything we owned was stashed in that car... (3 boxes of clothes and pictures, 2 boxes of toys.) Driving through the mountains, my car started acting weird and I was nearly in a state of panic thinking my car was going to break down in the middle of nowhere with no one to help. (Ive seen movies that started that way, but I digress.)I pulled off at Ashfork and talked to the guys at the shop there. They told me to go to a transmission place in flagstaff, to be sure. I googled transmission place and this was the first page that came up so I headed for you guys.Despite being insanely busy and it being lunch time. John ran for codes on my car and when that came up clean, took it for a drive to see what was going on. We made an educated guess that my car was too loaded down. After paying my bill and swearing I would write you the best google review ever, I headed to the UPS store up the street, shipped my 5 boxes ahead, thus removing 160 lbs worth of weight from my car. And continued on down the road, without ever having another problem.I sincerely appreciate total strangers taking the time to help, not only with my car, but with keeping me calm in a super stressful situation.Thank you so much!!

I was driving through Flagstaff on my way to Denver. I Ran into a transmission problem on the road. With it being Easter Sunday, I could not find anyone open. I spoke to Carolyn on the phone and she was extremley helpful and pleasant. She went out of her way to help us. She called John and he went down and opened up the shop for us and looked at the transmission that morning! I ended up renting a car for thte rest of my trip, but John and Carolyn totally save me and my 3 kids. They are the niciest people you want to meet, and very professional.

Driving from Denver to the Grand Canyon and then to Vegas with my fiance on our wedding week when my Trailblazers transmission blew up 40 miles outside of Flagstaff. I had no idea who to call on a friday afternoon. I called the transmission man and spoke to Julie and she explained that she was closing up in a half an hour. She was so helpfull. She got right on it and called a tow tuck and reserved a rental car for us. We didnt have to do anything but continue on our vacation and wedding. They worked very hard to make this expierence the best it could be. The way they treated us and the job that they did was above and beyond anything I have ever expierenced from any business that I have ever had to deal with.
