I highly suggest you giving this place a try! Not only is the work out great, but the environment is clean, and the men and women who work out there are so friendly and welcoming! Mad power training has easily become one of my favorite places to work out with my favorite people! The owner Amy Sanborn is amazing!
MadPower Training has amazing instructors, a wide variety of classes and makes everyone feel like you are part of a family! If you are looking for a great way to get in shape in a fun, supportive and highly motivating atmosphere this is it!
This is not just a gym, it is SO much more. When I walk in, everyone knows my name. They care about me, they care about my family, they care about my day, and that’s just not something you get everywhere.I started coming here in June of 2020. My mental health had slipped, my physical health had slipped, and I’ve never felt so welcome at any other fitness club in my life.Yes, the works outs are hard as hell. But I leave that place feeling like I am super woman and on top of the world because I am accomplishing something I never thought I could do.My body has changed, my mental health is stronger, and I have met so many amazing people that are in the same boat as me.If you’re looking for a new gym routine, something completely different than what you’re used to, and a supportive community, this is where it’s at!
MadPower classes keep me consistently strong and motivated. From the powerful temperatures to the party lights and music, the big studio shows what great group fitness is all about. And whenever I need to slow down, focus, and just plain sweat a little, the smaller Zen Den is a perfect spot for yoga and yin.
Best gym in town! Joined in May and wish I joined sooner. Every time I workout, it’s a different sequence and never boring. Amy is very encouraging and enthusiast during the workout! Be prepared to sweat.. cause you will (a lot).
Fun great atmosphere amazing knowledgeable instructors
Fantastic instructors who really care!
Madpower offers life changing workouts all within your ability. Its a great unique workout that targets strength and cardio. Absolutely love Madpower! What makes Madpower 5-star fitness center to me is that you become part of a family. Amy is so inviting and friendly to everyone that walks in her door. Amy and the other instructors always have a fun positive approach to each session you cant help but to finish with a large smile on your face. The facility is welcoming and clean. The locker rooms are first class. Im thankful, Amy the owner, has continued to stay open during COVID by strictly following the state/county guidelines. I feel completely safe attending class during these crazy times.
This is my home away from home. The place I go to focus on me and get both my mind and my body healthy. The Members are wonderful. I feel supported and totally comfortable each time I enter the studio. The instructors are high energy and well educated on form. They give awesome cues to ensure injury prevention and positive motivation through the class. Have I mentioned how fun the classes are and the music? It’s the best part - party lights, music the energy is exhilarating!!! I highly recommend MadPower to anyone looking for a fun and effective place to hit their goals. I am very thankful to be a part of this tribe. 💗
I recently joined MadPower in October and officially became a member in November! All I can say is joining MadPower is one of the best decisions I’ve made especially during these unusual times. The awesome owner Amy Sanborn along with the rest of her trainers and members were so welcoming and helpful upon me joining! Being able to come to MadPower and train with such an amazing and kind group of people has really helped lift my spirit through these times and keep me having a healthy lifestyle and mindset. Especially getting down and groovy during MadDance!I myself am cautious about covid and being at MadPower I know that I am in a safe environment. Based off the small time I have been here I have seen how hard working Amy is on keeping this gym and her tribe safe by enforcing the wearing of masks and social distancing. She has recently gone above and beyond to make it possible for us to still get our workouts in even though we are no longer in a group setting/class.Thank you Amy and MadPower Tribe. You guys are the best!
I have been very closely involved with Madpower Training Center for four years. I began as a member in December 2016, and later became an instructor- from October 2018 until recently- teaching up to 5 classes a week. My hopes in writing this review is to finally expose the illegal, unsanitary, and completely unprofessional environment that I have been privy too; and hopefully, to prevent any potential member from investing time and money into this business. When I began at Madpower as a member, I was drawn to it because of the wonderful instructors that were teaching there at the time. The undeniable energy that group fitness offers is enticing to most. However, even as a new member, I noticed the degree of unprofessionalism from the owner, Amy Sanborn, that I believe will be what eventually causes the demise of this business that had great potential.Amy is controlling, she is a micromanager, and she thrives on drama. There is no gossip that is off limits; and her degree of favoritism of certain staff have cause strife and a lack of community in what she falsely labels her Tribe. Additionally, in order to manipulate to get her way, Amy is verbally and emotionally abusive. She often sends discombobulated rants in which she accuses, berates, and places blame where it isnt deserved (yes, even to members). She is known to shame and embarrass members and instructors alike if she finds out that they have worked out at another gym while a member of Madpower. Further, she has a cat living at the studio (at one time there were two of them) who is not always continent; causing the studio to wreak of cat urine. After receiving many complaints about the cat(s), Amy once again defers blame to her members; saying their exercise mats are what is causing the smell of cat urine. The staff turnover that has occurred as a direct result of Amys actions has been exponential; and frankly, speaks for itself. Since 2016, at least 13 staff members have quit, and over 100 members have ended their memberships. The most concerning element of this business, however, has come since the pandemic started. As a Nurse Practitioner, I have always felt an obligation to make safety a priority while teaching my classes. Since Covid began, Amy has always been oppositional about her belief in masks; saying she doesnt feel members get a true workout while wearing them. To this day, Amy continues to hold classes with up to 15 unmasked members in an enclosed 97° room, performing high intensity interval training exercises, with little regard to cleaning, basic safety, proper social distancing, or infection prevention. In October, when I myself contracted Covid as a result of exposure at Madpower (even though I wore my mask religiously), I persisted in my efforts for Amy to require universal mask use at the studio. When I informed Amy of my positive Covid result, her first words were, “Do not tell anyone. Do we even have to reveal this?” I repeatedly explained to her that she is facilitating an environment where people are getting sick. Unfortunately, my attempts continued to be met with resistance, denial, and now- termination of my employment as a Madpower instructor. I feel that her goal is for anyone who might make any “noise” about what she is doing (allowing) to just “go away”.Amy is concerned about two things: herself and her business. She cares nothing about your well-being as long as you are paying a membership fee or benefiting her in some capacity. Importantly, the majority of the positive Google reviews you see posted for Madpower are from staff and members whom Amy has offered incentive for posting; some of whom are her family members and personal friends who have never stepped foot in the studio as a member (I know this to be a fact).Save yourself the money...and the headache. There are lots of fantastic gyms in the Madison area with honest, dedicated, hardworking leaders that deserve your support.
Madpower is not just a workout place it is a community. I immediately felt welcomed when I walked in for the first time. The instructors are fantastic and motivate you to reach your peak performance every workout. i love working in the heat. Every drip of sweat is earned!
I started coming to this gym in November of 2015 and absolutely LOVE it. There is a sense of community that Ive never seen in ANY gym ever. Friendliest staff and the membership is more like a tribe then random strangers. So many other gym users say hi, and soon they are strangers no more.Having folks working out along side you who root you on - priceless!! All the staff greet all members by name, make you feel welcomed and valued !!There are a wide variety of classes, and one of the BEST parts is, all the instructors are great at offering lower impact options. If you come to a class, you WILL get a work-out!! Most of the classes are held in higher heat, so its good to start off with a lower heat class and work your way up to the hotter temps if your body isnt used to that. Clean, modern facility that is completely brand new - special cork flooring provides some give, professional sound system w/ lights makes it fun, and what gym has a Bar ? THIS ONE! Showers are provided, including towels - filtered water dispensers, healthy snacks - everything you need!Super handy mobile app that lets you sign up for classes, with options to add it to your calendar make putting fitness into your routine easy.Do yourself a favor and check it out! First class is free!
Cool place
If you are looking for a positive and inspirational environment for your workout, MadPower is the place. I have been with MadPower since it first opened and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only are the workouts and instructors incredible, but I have developed friendships with so many wonderful people.
Best gym in town! 5 stars!!!!
I joined this gym as a 30th birthday present to myself. After being a member for over 6 months, I can honestly say wish I had joined earlier and not let my health take a back seat for so long. As weird as this sounds, the workout classes are actually fun (as fun as a work out can be that is)! The music has a good beat and rhythm, the lights are dimmed, the disco lights are on; all which are reminiscent of a nightclub minus the instructor telling you what to do. For those who are interested in a drink, there is full bar as well. My first week at the gym was a little rough. My body was not used to working out much so it was very sore; however, over time Ive noticed how much stronger my body is and how much more energy I have. I love it. The owner, Amy, does a great job taking care of her gym and her tribe. The place is always clean and the people are always fun to be around. I love it here!
So many great things to say about MadPower...the instructors, the classes, the members, the gym itself (I have never been in a cleaner gym), massage therapy, a nail salon, a bar... All of them are 5 stars. This gym is like no other because the classes they are offer are so efficient in helping you achieve your goals - 45 minutes of Sweat/Work/Fun! They offer high intensity, strength training, personal training, yoga, and barre. I have been a member for 2 years, and I still look forward to my next workout! I love the member diversity, you will feel welcomed the second you walk in. Come try it out, you will be happy you did!
Madpower Training is a friendly, fun and welcoming facility that can make anyone feel at home! No matter your fitness level, Madpower will welcome you into the tribe. The classes are intense but fun, and the instructors do a great job! The place is well furnished, and theres even a bar for post workout drinks! This place is unlike any fitness club Ive been to, and honestly puts all other studios like it to shame.
As an endurance athlete, I find the cardio, strength and yoga at Madpower important to increase my fitness and decrease my risk of injury. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and the classes are for people of any fitness level. Neat environment with great locker rooms. Very fun and welcoming environment. Easy access and parking.
I have been coming to Madpower for years! This is because I have never felt bored or uninspired during any of the workout classes! There is a large variety of classes to choose from and no two classes are ever the same. The music, the lights, and the were all in this together atmosphere makes class feel more like a party than the challenging work out it really is.
I cannot say enough good things about MadPower Training and all of the Instructors. They are incredibly committed and always find ways to help you push your limits. The new facility is beautiful and everyone is very friendly! Amy has created an environment that makes everyone feel welcome. You will not find a better place to work out and have fun!
A beautiful facility in Verona with energizing, motivational instructors and lots of classes to choose from -from yoga, barre, to extreme heated power classes. Great group of people and always a fabulous workout! Its a vital part of my training program!
Madpower, my happy place! Nail Salon, Massage, Personal Training, Hot fitness, Yoga, and a bar. What else can I ask for? I love it!
Amazing instructors and faculties. No other place like in in the midwest. Largest studios, large locker rooms, showers and a liquor and juice bar! Easy to get to off Verona rd and lots of private parking. This place is all about the tribe of friends that work hard and play hard!No better value for hot fitness and yoga experience. Only $89/mo for unlimited classes and first month is only $35.
Seriously one of the highest, world class places I have been to IN THE WORLD for all around fitness and body performance. When you walk in, the beautiful new open facilities greets you with everything you need from a water /smoothie bar to sparking changing and restrooms with showers with full towels and tioletries. The place has it all, and is beautiful. And the classes. ...I workout in everything, from marathons to bodybuilding to hot yoga...this takes it All...wraps it into one class for an exhilarating fitness function blended to hit everything from your cardio to your core, head to toe, muscle fiber to fiber. The room is intoxicating, spacious, and pumped. The instructors are hands down what runs this place. You will not want to quit because their motivation pumps your blood for you....you will come back because they make you WANT it...the tribe. ...warm and welcoming. ..my first class they helped me figure it out and support each other... Dont think you cant do it..because here, you can.
MadPower training has provided me with the strength and balance I need as an endurance athlete. The MadPower class itself as the backbone of the of this training center is as challenging as you want it to be and very fun. If you need a way to change up your workout and make sure you get the most out of it, this is where it is. No one class is ever the same. Amy is a wealth of knowledge on endurance training and general fitness, she is incredibly supportive.
I cant say enough GREAT things about MadPower and how it has helped me physically and mentally! The workouts are FUN - definitely not your typical boot camp style which always felt miserable to me. Its like a party with your friends that happens to give awesome fitness results :) With MadPower I am actually EXCITED to get to the gym. Everyone is warm and welcoming! Ive been doing MadPower for 3 years and it just keeps getting better and better.
0 friends1 review5.0 star rating3/6/2016Been going to MadPower Training since November 2014 and I LOvE it! The staff and instructors are friendly and know everyone by name. Amy has some of the best instructors in town. Not only are they elite athletes, they are a lot of fun. Make sure to grab a towel on your way into class, youll need it:). They are located in the Dry Bean building and they kept the bar. So after class grab a drink and relax in their lounge.
MadPower Training is a unique workout experience, the instructors are the best in the business. A great mix of programs designed for every level, whether your a beginner or a multisport athlete. The atmsophere is wonderful, fun, energetic for everyone. To top it off the owners are amazing!
MadPower training is a lot of different fitness experiences for all levels in one building. The namesake class, Power, is a heated high-intensity interval training that will leave you sweating at the end, no matter how fit you are. Speaking as someone who was more or less sedentary before Power, it can be a little overwhelming at first, but if you stick with it, the results are absolutely amazing. That being said, there are all kinds of less-intense programs, including a separate studio that offers barre and yoga classes in a more intimate setting than the bright lights and music of Power. Its here where the MadPower instructors really shine, as every member of the team is more than willing to take feedback and requests and adjust their programs to meet the mood of the room.More than anything, though, the difference between MadPower and other similar programs is the community of members youll find at your sides in classes. These are individuals of all fitness levels who provide encouragement and fun when theyre at your side in class, not condescension or comparison.
Becoming a member at MadPower was one of the best decisions Ive ever made! The instructors are all top notch who take the time to get to know everyones name and encourage you every step of the way. Amy Sanborn has put her heart and soul into MadPower and all her hard work has paid off. She has a beautiful facility that is welcoming and great place to work out!
