We were purchasing a car on a Saturday and wanted to get it checked out by s mechanic. Car-X took us in immediately on a walk-in basis. Phil let us ride with him as he thoroughly checked out the car on a test drive. Following that he put the car on a lift and checked all the major components. He found many small issues which we made note of-nothing major thankfully!! Tommy and Joe were also very helpful and friendly. With the confidence of Phil’s evaluation we then proceeded to purchase our car. All in all I’d highly recommend Car-X for getting your car checked out or repaired. A first rate shop!!

We have used this Car-X for over 15 years for our brake servicing and other vehicle issues. They have always been extremely fair and professional. There have been times when we thought there was a problem and instead of performing work that was unnecessary, they said to check back later.Tommy, is great to work with and always gives you a straight and detailed explanation of what is going on with your vehicle. I was traveling from out of town, when the splash guard under my car came loose and was dragging on the pavement. I had my son temporarily secure it, not knowing if I could make it back to Ohio safely. I stopped into this business, not knowing what to do. I was immediately greeted by Matthew who worked me right in for removal of the guard until I reached my destination in Ohio. I received excellent customer service, and mostly was reassured I could drive another couple of hours very safely. There was no charge. Matthew and his team were simply amazing!!

I was passing through Indianapolis from Bloomington, I had an oxygen sensor that I could not get off. I called them last minute five hours before they closed hoping that they would be able to help. Bill was extremely friendly and willing to help.They were able to squeeze me in and have that part replaced in a few hours. I already had the new part, I just needed it installed. I expected a three-figure bill, and I expected it to take a lot longer than it did. To my surprise, they only charged me $54. They did an absolutely fantastic job, and the mechanic Shawn even came out when I picked up my car and explained to me what happened. Very friendly guys, very reasonably priced.While I was checking out, there was a woman in front of me who had a splash guard that had fallen off. That is a very simple fix, and in the auto industry more so than other fields, time is money. It’s a simple fix and it really should cost at least some money. However, Bill told the woman to give him about 15 minutes and he’ll re-attach it for free. That’s without knowing if it would need any parts to re-attach it.In my pictures below, you can see how I absolutely murdered this sensor trying to get it out. I drive an 05 Durango just for reference, and the sensor was the Bank 1 Sensor 2. I also have the picture of the completed work. The grey discoloration on the pipe is the thread lock, the new sensor came with an excessive amount already spread on the threads so it oozed out as the sensor was screwed in.As the old saying goes, you do a good job and 10 people hear about it. You do a bad job and 100 people hear about it. I hope that more than 10 people see this review! Tip of the cap to Bill and the entire Car-X crew at the Fishers location! This place is awesome. I highly recommend. Matt told me to come early and they took me right in. I asked Steve should I have a tune up. Nope not til 100k miles. (He could have said yes and I wouldn’t have known better). The guy that did my brakes was really nice and kept me up to date on how much longer it would take. New front and rear brake pads 224.00. Great price. Great service...and the honesty I really appreciate!!!

WOW! From the moment I walked in Matt and Steve were upfront, honest and to the point. No additional “problems” were found. I went in when my tire “fell off”. I didn’t expect the work to be done in a day. I also had new rotors, brake pads (on all four tires) and studs put into the new spindle. They kept me updated and did all they could to get me back on the road the same day. Mike the mechanic even explained some small items that I would have had a concern for later but his forethought brought it to my attention.Highly recommended and I will be coming back without hesitation.

Matt at Car-X was fantastic. I originally took my car to the dealership for service. When they couldnt fix the issue, and in fact mis-diagnosed the issue, I took it to Car-X in Fishers. Matt was promptly able to not only fix the issue, but he even contacted the dealership and told them what was really wrong with the vehicle. He didnt have to take that extra step, but he did. I really appreciate him going above and beyond to help me.

I am now a customer for life. I have a 2003 CLK convertible. My check brakes indicator had come on. Car-X inspected the brakes and took on a test drive finding nothing wrong and no need to replace the brakes. They could have told me anything and charged anything. Instead, they handed me my keys back--no charge. This type of integrity is often missing today. Thank you Car-X for your example!

I highly recommend coming here. I had just recently moved up to the Noblesville area and was calling around to other shops to get my car priced. I needed brake pads, my air filter and my rotors. The service overall here was 100 times better than any of the other ones I called and just spoke to.When calling initially to get an estimate, Matt answered. He was nothing but kind and helpful. When I called other places they acted like they didn’t really care to listen to what I was saying and overall didn’t care in the slightest. When talking with Matt, again nothing but helpful. He explained everything to me (I know next to nothing about cars) he showed me what I need to look for and what exactly he meant when he was explaining everything that was wrong with my car.EVERYTHING about this place is great. Absolutely recommend Matt Collins and his team when it comes to carrepair. I was lucky enough to use their services to Due to my car having major engine issues due to a lawsuit with GMC. Matt and his mechanic Tommy are always top of everything. They answered all my questions, was nothing but helpful the entire time . Matt managed to to educated me and make me understand every repair they do. They always manage to squeeze me in to add oil as I have a high oil consumption . I went in February to get my oil changed. The technicians spotted a transmission leak. I knew it was leaking, but it was a lot worse than I thought. They fixed it for a fair price.If they hadnt fixed that leak, Im pretty sure my cars transmission would have failed during the March 2020 stay at home order. That would have been pretty miserable. Great service!

Not exactly very organized as far as making appointments. Setting up an appointment online is worthless. You may find out you are not on their list until you get there.Even if you make an appointment, and you watch them writing you name down in the appointment book, they will still question you appointment.Just like any other auto service place, they will try to fix things that are not really broken.

Great service at a great price. If you have an hour you can save yourself a lot of money and salesman nonsense. These guys are $30 cheaper per oil change.

Ive taken my vehicles to this Car-X location for everything from oil changes to air conditioner repairs. They do outstanding work and treat their customers well. They do a great job communicating with you about the issues they find and laying out your options and the costs involved.I highly recommend this store and their staff for great, trustworthy auto repairs.

I was shopping across the street and saw this shop. I went into the shop to ask for the price of oil change and replacing a filter. They charged me reasonably. I also asked them to check the noise in my car. They told me the problem and did not force me into anything. During the time I was there, I also saw them dealing with other customers. They did not make people pay the unnecessary repair. I am very pleased with the shop and will go back to them again. By the way, Jim is an honest guy.

Have gotten 2 oil changes here and noticed that my oil light would randomly blink 800-1000 miles before the sticker mileage. This occurred both times I got it changed here but never before when I went to my dealership. Currently I am 620 miles before sticker and my boyfriend checked my oil and discovered unsurprisingly, my engine is bone dry. I pay for the security that I wont get in my car and get stuck somewhere or die because of negligence. If they saw an issue during those 2 changes they definitely didnt say anything to me. I will willingly spend my money elsewhere.

This company has been honest with us over time. Cant say the same about Pep Boys and Firestone. Will use them again & recommend them to others.

Based on the invoice, it looks like they replaced both front rotors as well as the pads with very expensive parts. The part numbers they reference are from Auto Zone. They charged $111.99 for a $61.99 rotor and $49.99 for a $41.99 set of pads. That’s a $108 profit on just the parts mark-up alone. Plus I think they get an additional discount being a high volume parts consumer. I definitely think you need to find a different mechanic as this one either 1) overcharges everyone or 2) just my daughter and females in general!

I had an appointment at 10:00 for an oil change and I did not wait at the Car X during the service. I called at 2:00, as I did not here from anyone if my car was finished and was told I had 2 cars in front of me which I found odd considering my appointment was 4 hours prior to that. I came by at 3:00 because I figured surely it should be done to find my car still had yet to be taken back, but was assured it would be next. They were on the defense when I said I dropped my car off at 10 and was shocked that it hadn’t even been taken back, it was not until I had been waiting for 15 minutes that someone apologized for the wait. My oil changed ended up taking 5 hours and 30 minutes. I will not return for the wait time on something as simple as an oil change, especially when an appointment was made in advance and lack of customer service.

I was traveling out of town near Indy when my Lexus coupe hit a huge pothole on 65. I blew two tires & was totally panicked! I pulled in to the closest place I could drive to. Let me tell you as a women three hours from home, I went to the right place. Jim, mike & the guys took great care of me. They ordered 2 new tires right away, and I was back on the road in 2 hours!! I felt safe & not once did I feel like they were taking advantage in pricing! I couldn’t recommend this place more! Thanks again guys! Job well done!!

Ive used this CarX location for several years now, primarily for oil changes, as they offer a VERY reasonable rate if you bring in a canned good to donate. Both Steve and Jim have been very upfront and transparent about how they operate this location and I couldnt be more pleased. I trust both them and their staff of mechanics to provide a thorough inspection and to inform me of repairs that need to be performed on my car, without feeling like Im getting a run around or an increased hassle factor. In fact, just last week I was informed that I needed to replace a control arm on my car due to the ball joint being worn out. While I appreciated their estimate, I was able to perform this repair myself and when I returned today for an alignment, was met with NO hassle.Both their lobby and their workshop are clean and organized, which to me speaks highly of their quality. Ive also been present when other customers are inquiring about services and feel that their recommendations are reasonable and fair priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this CarX location to anyone I know.Keep up the good work, and thank you for being a TRUSTWORTHY repair shop!

Dont trust this fraud shop. They can change oil maybe, but troubleshooting a engine miss fire they completely missed the mark. They said they couldnt troubleshoot the issue unless the engine light was on, meaning they dont have a good computer diagnostic tool. Once I found a competent mechanic, I finally got my car fixed, but these guys I wouldnt even trust changing my oil.

Jim is a nice guy and runs a great shop! I took my van in for front brakes and had them run a quick diagnostic on my check engine light. They said it was the ERG valve. When I asked if it might be covered under warranty, Josh said probably not, so I said go ahead with the repair. He called back 1/2 hour later and said they called Chrysler to see if it was covered, and it was!! He didnt have to go out of his way to check, and it saved me $200. Because of that honesty and going the extra mile, they earned a customer for life.

You claim to have express oil change but if you come in before 5:30 they will turn you away because they close at 6. So glad youre putting the three other mechanics, whom just stared at me when as I walked in, to work when they arent working. What a great business and if you dont want people to come in after their work it would be much appreciated to have it posted that you stop taking cars at a certain time or maybe have the mechanics who stared at me could use their voice for the next costumer.

Car X is a great service center. They are upfront and honest. They are fast and great in emergency situations. If you are looking for a great place to take your car do not hesitate to stop by and trust you will be pleased with the results.

Time and time again Carx at the 11222 Allisonville Rd, Fishers location has gone out of their way to make sure I had the least expensive bill as possible. Similar other places might edge up costs when a person such as myself would come in uncertain of whats wrong, but not Carx. This is the third time over a couple of years that they went the extra mile in this regard. Steve & Jim and the rest of the crew get my kudos. Anyone needing something as routine as a oil change on up to a huge mechanical problem can be rest assured they will do everything to get the best prices for parts and always charge a fair price on labor.

For a CarX, this is a great shop. The owner Jim is a bit gruff, but no nonsense and very honest.Of course they tell you everything wrong they could fix in theory, but theres no pressure to do more than you want or what will make the car safe. They have even basically refurbished things and did the minimum they could to keep the car driving safely and save me some money. If youve ever owned an older car, you know how valuable a mechanic like this is.Im generally not a fan of franchises like this, but in Fishers a decent mechanic is hard to find period. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this shop to a friend.

I took my car here to have a tire swapped out. After performing the service, they deemed the new tire unworthy of installing on my car and put my old tire back on. Not a super friendly staff, but I commend them for going through with the service and not charging for it.

I took my car here for a few oil changes and to have my brakes done. I was told I should buy new tires for my leased vehicle even though I would be turning it back in to the dealer in 6 months and there was more than enough tread. Brought in a coupon to have my brakes done, and was told that the brakes on the ad were terrible and that I should purchase the better ones they had on hand. I went with the recommendation. I also got a phone call stating that I needed new brake rotors as well. I ended up spending a lot of money to have all of the work done, which sucks but could be justified. The brakes that were put on my car however, were the worst that I have ever used. I honestly felt safer using my worn out brakes from before I took my car in. The shop also lost all of the clips that keep the brake pads from rattling, so every little bump would make my car rattle like crazy. They upsold me and did a crappy job. Do like I did, and find a local shop to get work done on your car.

THE WORST REPAIR SHOP I HAVE EVER SEEN!!. The staff is very rude even the store manager. I made a wheel alignment service which supposed that it has a guarantee, then I found the car issues is still the same, so I doubted and rechecked the alignments in another store and I was shocked when I found that the measurements still the same!! and when I went back to carx, the front office rude man told me that we cant guarantee the measurements so I showed him that I have a guarantee in the receipt then he told me to come another day to talk with the store manager because he is not in the store now!, then I went again in another day and the store manager told me to come at 7.30 am sharp to re-check it and he firmly dont agree to accept any other time suitable to me with a very rude manner (take it or leave it) and when I went online to take an appointment after 2 weeks at noon they called me again and forced me to come at 7.30, and the surprise was that after I took a day off from my work and went at 7.30 and before he even take the keys he told me that the measurements in my car is non-adjustable!! and when I asked him how!? he answered ask your manufacture and when I asked him so why you told me to come to re-check it!!? so he smiled and answered with one word: sorry!!!

Only place Ill ever take my car!Ive been so impressed in my dealings with this Car-X location. My dad has gone here for years, and theyre the only place my husband and I completely trust. As many other reviewers have pointed out, these guys dont try to convince you something is wrong with your car when it isnt.I had my car in for an oil change the other day so I asked them about a problem it had been having lately. They were very willing to look into it even though it was almost the end of the day. Then Tommy came out, told me what the problem could be, and gave me a very simple suggestion (and one that didnt cost me a cent). Definitely not your stereotypical car place!Were glad to have a local mechanic we can trust our cars to!

Everyone was very kind and helpful, especially considering I pulled up at the end of the day, the day before a Holiday, with a busted car and no way home (I had not intended to visit an auto-repair facility this day when I went to hang out with a buddy). They fixed me up enough to get home, and pointed me in the right direction as to how to get a permanent fix to my vehicle.

I have used Car-X for all my repair needs on several diff vehicles. But unfortunately my last visit was my last. II received a not-so-good vibe from Steve when I refused a repair. His body language and demeanor was that of a swindler, if you know what i mean. Within 10 mins of declining said repair he came back with another repair that I was not able to decline if I was to drive my car home. The repair that I initially declined was the same price as the repair I had to have. Coincidence? I would have to say no because once again he did not like when I declined the 1st unneeded repair. Get this heres the kicker- None of what you just read happened UNTIL I presented a coupon for the service I initially went in for. Steve informed me coupon not valid on service but that I proved to be incorrect under terms of coupon. So with all that said I know when I am being played for a fool. Words of wisdom; what you dont know opens you up to be exploited by people like Steve. I also quit using Car-X in Castleton several years back due to a Rep telling me I needed my rotors changed on a break job. Little did he know I have done rotor replacement several xs myself. I asked to see rotors. And rotors were still in great shape with a single hairline groove. I drove that car a few more years with new pads no issues with rotors whatsoever!

The guy that I dealt with used scare tactics and didnt even tell me the real problem with my jeep. The herrings were going out but the tie rods were the real problem that needed to be fixed. $800 estimate to dig into it and tack on the charger for the real problem Im sure. I will not be back

There is a new manager at this location. I was here at 7:30 am, when they opened, and am still here at 11:15 am. I am only getting my oil changed and my rear brake pads changed and I have already been waiting almost 4 hours and counting!
