Hands down best mechanic I’ve ever met. Honest, knowledgeable, great overall guy! I agree with what another reviewer said about him being a little random on the phone, but if he were meant for phone sales then he’d be sitting in a building in a cubicle with 100 other people on the phone.He diagnosed one of my problems over the phone in-fact. My boss at the time was paying for the repair and insisted on using his shop because he had an account there…$3000 later, they finally looked into what I suggested (what Jim suggested) in the first place. They ended up doing the final $800 repair for free.I’ve even come back to get my vehicle after Jim fixing the problem I dropped it off for only to have him tell me he took it upon himself to fix my wonky wiper with a little piece he found lying around…who does that anymore?!

It might take a while but quality mechanic work always does so expect it. While I waited many customers came in and all were friendly and sang Jim, the owner, praises. They told me of their decades long relationships with him and when I told them it was my first visit excitedly assured me of his skill, integrity and reliability. He’s a little random on the phone but don’t let that stop you—he’s actually pretty funny. I am looking forward to a new book and a long wait for my next repair. Haha never thought I would say that about a four hour wait at an auto shop but there ya have it.

I wont take my vehicles anywhere else. I have both foreign and domestic vehicles and Jim takes care of all makes. My entire family uses Jims. I have never waited more than a day and Jim has my car back to me. His mechanics are top notch. Plus Jim has great stories and is just a good guy in general. But be prepared, he doesnt mix words. Very straight forward in his business and his opinion.

If you have a hard time trusting mechanics, trust me when I say THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. I have a 1985 porsche 944 and have taken it to nearly 10 different European specialty mechanics over the past few years. All of which tried to get me to repair things that did not need to be repaired, or struggled diagnosing the issue, quoting me ridiculous prices for the repairs. Last month my Porsche wasnt starting and I was dreading taking it into a mechanic to have my pocket book taken through the wringer. A friend of mine suggested this place, as he had seen that they had nearly a perfect rating online. So I figured what they heck, and boy am I glad I did. These guys are real and honest people who truly enjoy what they do and are damn good at it. It ended up being a very simple 200 fuel pump relay issue, I asked for a quote on the timing belt and water pump while the car was there, the quote was more than reasonable and they even told me I could probably just take it home and deal with those things later if money was an issue, as it wasnt in dire need. Because of their honest nature I had them go forward with all of the repairs and I WILL Be returning. Often times when leaving a repair shop I feel confused on what really needs to be done. They replaced the motor mounts and my car drives smoother than I could have ever imagined. No other shop had ever told me that the motor mounts were damaged, and it has made a night and day difference in the way she runs. Long story short, give these guys a shot, I promise you wont regret it! Jim is also very personable and has a great sense of humor.

This place is awesome. If you want to be pampered and sit on a comfy chair while you wait for your vehicle go somewhere else. BUT if you want to get your car fixed with no BS honest prices go to Jims. He fixes what needs to be fixed and for reasonable labor price. Wont bring my 2007 BMW anywhere else. Communication is lackluster but his honesty and work will save you money.

Ive been going to Jim for 30 years, I would refer anyone to him. He is thoroughly honest and absolutely brilliant. You only need to talk to him for 5 minutes to verify this for yourself. Jim goes out of his way to find you the best deal, the best options, and lays it all out for you. With his level of expertise and popularity he could pick and choose who he wants for customers, however, he treats everyone with the same level of care and service.

Jim is a great mechanic. And because he is good, he is way too busy. However if you can be scheduled into the time slots, there is a good possibility that you are going to get your car serviced and running well. He is a car whisperer.

I dont usually write any review. However, I must write for Jim here because I feel indebted to Jim for what he has offered to me. I was shopping around for a good and reliable used car. I called 10 shops and no one wanted to do a pre purchase inspection as they are all busy. I just randomly looked for a shop and had Jims number. I called him and he was busy too, but after talking to me he told me bring the car to his shop. He and another guy spent an hour to look at a car with ZERO cost! The car definitely had an issue with its suspension, they put some lubricant and asked us go away without trying to sell anything. I and the seller are all shocked. He explained to me about cars status what I should know...Such an amazing experience! He does not do any proper advertisement but word of mouth is worth more than anything! Try Jim, you has nothing to lose but you get much more. Thanks Jim for making my day!

I was a referral to Jims. Took a Volvo XC70 there to confirm some things that the dealer told me needed to be addressed. Im not saying that the dealer was incorrect. Everything they listed in my inspection was correct. However, the price to fix it at the dealer exceeded the value of the car by 50%. So, Jim got a hold of it, read the dealer assessment and several hours later gave me a call. Seems the needs although accurate were not nearly as needy as stated by the dealer. He actually felt bad for taking money from me on his assessment. I read reviews about his gruffness but the guy has been wrenching longer than most of his customers have been alive. Hes straight up. I would gladly refer people to him. Deal with the gruffness, hes worth it.

Whenever I have car troubles, I call Jim. Even if he is nowhere near, I can still tell him what sounds my car is making and he can tell me if it is dead or just needs help. And when Im looking for another car I call him and ask him what cars are good. Let me tell you, he has an encyclopedia of cars in his head to tell you which not to get! Not only that, but he does great work and has good prices. He also tells you what needs fixed and what will need to be fixed, how much the repair costs, and how much future repairs will cost so that you can set aside money. Jim rocks!

I just picked up my Odyssey from Jims and I am extemely pleased with the experience. I was given a thorough explanation of what repairs had been made and a breakdown of parts and labor. An honorable trustworthy repair shop.

WOW, these guys saved me at least $500. My check engine light came on, and the first place I stopped told me it would be $580 just to get in there an have a look around. I stopped by to see Jim for a second opinion. He spent at least 15 min with me, explained why they light was on and what was happening, and that it was really no big deal. He outlined my options, but let me know that while the light had been triggered, nothing was critically wrong. Isnt that what everyone wants to hear? Peace of mind restored. And he didnt charge a thing! When something critical does go wrong, I am looking forward to bringing the car back to these guys and will happily give over my money. Thanks, Jim!

I took my car to Jim after a couple other mechanics gave up on it. My car had a horrible intermittent problem. Incredibly difficult to troubleshoot especially when it wouldnt exhibit the problem.Jim couldnt get it to fail easily either but somehow he went through and moved around the what must be miles of wiring and found a problem with a defective wire connector. Wow, it was a miracle to me! Jim fixed it and the cost was totally fair. Ive got a new mechanic that I trust and will send my family and friends to. Thank you Jim!

We were referred to Jim buy a friend in 2006 and have been taking our cars there ever since. Jim is the extremely rare honest mechanic (actually car wizard is more like it). He keeps my 2000 VW Golf running great with very little cost. He never does work you dont need and has the best labor prices around! He just moved out of his tiny crowded shop on Everett Mall Way to a beautiful huge new place, east of downtown Everett on Railway Ave. We took my husbands 2004 Expedition in for brakes and serpentine belt check. I was afraid it would be $$$ but no, nothing really needed except back pads and some fluids. Got out cheap and extremely fair once again. Stop in and see the new place! He has 4 lifts and tons of room. Check out all his collectables and posters - missed the music being on though...hum???

The work performed is excellent but communication is lackluster at best. I had to ask several times before I was told I need new shifter cable bushings AFTER my transmission was put completely back together. Regardless, $800 later (excluding parts) I got a new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch lever, lever bearings, and MTL fluid. My 2006 Jetta TDI shifts much smoother now.

Jim is standup guy, needed an oil change fast and he squeezed me in, also gave me a heads up on some items to look out for on my BMW, I will use him in the future.

Took my jetta here because not many other places will take it. Started out they couldnt figure out the problem I took it in for so they fixed other things on it. When they finally figured it out, my bill was already $500. They then told me that the actual fix would cost at least $400 plus labor. I looked it up online and the past actual cost less than $100, so I told them is order it then they could put it in. They agreed, but the website I ordered it from accidentally sent me the wrong part. So they said to wait for the right part to come in was too long and theyd charge me for storage for more than what I would save for the part. The mechanic also took this opportunity to call me retarded. And said that Jim would work with me on the price, since I couldnt pay over a grand on the spot. So I paid what I thought was half of the bill, and when I went today to pay the other half, he told me that I still had to make another payment in a month. Price is definitely not worth the service I received. Dont go here.

It would have saved me an untold amount of money and no damn guessing games - this guy is the straightest shooter Ive ever dealt with. I was just dreading the cash involved to replace my blown K24A in my 03 Accord. Jim took over and found the best replacement with the lowest miles for less than anything I had found. Just got back from taking my sons car in - 2005 Audi A4, he just got it 2 weeks ago. The sunroof got stuck open, so called around to see who could work on it. The first 2 places said they couldnt/wouldnt work on an Audi, and to go to the dealer. Then I found Jims shop and called. Jim answered the phone, said they could definately get it closed and that there were known power sun roof motor issues with Audi. After looking at it, and getting it closed, they said the sun roof itself is working fine, but the cover is the problem. I asked how much to repair, they said it would be pricey, and if it was them, they would just remove it. (And of course, not to open it until the cover is dealt with). Jim then looked at the brakes and recommended the rear ones be replaced soon, I mentioned that my son had just replaced the brake pads and rotors on his 2002 Mustang GT (which we are trying to sell), and given that, would it be much different on the Audi. Jim said no, he should be able to do it since hes done others, and would recommend a certain type of rotor. After all this, they charged me 0! I was very pleasantly surprised, and will definately go back when a repair is needed! And I will recommend him to our friends.

Ive been going to Jims since I was 18 and have always gotten a fair deal. If you want to learn about your car, hell talk you through what was wrong and what they did to fix it. I used to deliver pizza so I was there quite often, they always knew how to fix what I broke. It has always been word of mouth advertising and he always has a full shop. Not bad for a hole in the basement repair shop!

I was buying a new car, and was recommended by a close friend to a few different shops for a pre buyers inspection. Jims was one of them. I called a couple others first and they were going to charge me 109+ to have it done. Ive had these before, but by a close family friend, so I wanted to make sure that the person who was doing it wasnt going to charge me an arm and a leg to do something that you can really do for alot less. Jim answered and was super straightforward and relaxed, told me what he could do, and said he was busy but if I came by in an hour he could probably do it. I asked how much he charged and he said nothing really. When I got there and when Jim could look at my car, he took his time with it, drove it, and talked to me about it. He did this all for free, and its not like they arent busy. I completely trust him, and me and my boyfriend found our new shop if anything ever goes wrong with our vehicles. And by the way, this is my first review on ANYTHING, ever. Hes that cool.
