On a Saturday afternoon with no real opening for me, they put my car up on a rack and figured out exactly what was wrong with it. Everyone was really nice and really helpful. And heres the zinger, they did this for free. Just really a great place to find when I was having an automotive emergency.

I highly advize not going to Antich Automotive.They had my car for 18 days + another 5 days. They consistently told me they didnt know what was wrong. While they knew I was paying for a rental. I took my car to Mid City on Monday and it was fixed in less than 2 days and for less than $600. Antich has charged me to get a new dip stick that they had lost. They blamed the screws being stripped in my door on another auto mechanic. Keep in mind: I am the only owner of my car and Antich is the only mechanic who has ever touched it. They charged me $1650 for spark plugs and an oil pack that didnt fix the problem. They started a valve adjustment they didnt finish.Unfortunately, after 9 years of loyalty to Antich I want to warn Humboldt to not go there. ❤️

I 100% recommend this place! A different mechanic in Arcata told me I needed some belt work done and I came to Antich just to be sure and they told me I didnt need my belts done yet. I appreciate the honesty and time they took to look at my old piece of junk car. They didnt charge me a dime and gave me some great recommendations on different used car dealerships. Great business, genuine people and amazing owners!!

Mike fixed my car fast, inexpensively, and with a smile! This is the best garage ever and it has a fantastic location because you can walk around the lovely down town Eureka while you wait! I definitely would go to this shop again!

I love driving my old vehicles again! I was getting ready to sell my old Chevy Tahoe and Pontiac after purchasing a new car but the Antich crew took such good care of them that I might take the new car back! What I really appreciate is how they take the time to discus your vehicle with you and give you your options short and long term to make the best choice for you. I am from out of town and on my trip I had an oil leak. I found Antich and they immediately found and fixed the problem for a fair price. They were very friendly and treated me as one of their own. Very pleased with their service. It is not always easy to find.

Was recommended to this place by a friend. They did not call to keep me updated on delays and did not inform me of their findings until after making the “repair.” Couldn’t find the issue I described to them. Car failed to start, which was the issue I wanted addressed, after one drive from shop to home.

Great service! I’ve had terrible experiences with diesel mechanics in the past but these guys are great. They’re honest, nice, smart and fast. Don’t go anywhere else in eureka.My school bus conversion that I live in died on me. They were able to fix it in 2 days. Other places that I have used would have taken a week or more. They even worked over the weekend because they knew I would have to pay for a hotel. Can’t sing their praises enough.

Not only did they help me with my own car (VW) in an excellent way which saved me a trip to SR...they have helped (done them @ cost with no chg on labor) single moms get free oil changes for nearly 4 years! I came to Eureka with a broken brake line and first went to a different auto shop which wont be named. This unnamed shop told me that to be able to get back on the road it would cost me a minimum of $2600 for all of the MANDATORY repairs. I left discouraged thinking that my old truck might be done for.Upon first arriving to Antich Auto and meeting with the owners who were working that day I got the immediate feeling that I could trust these guys and that they had my best interests in mind. They got my tacoma in right away and had it ready for me to continue on my travels that afternoon. The cost that Antich charged me to FIX my truck was less than what the evaluation/assessment cost me at the other shop.I would recommend Antich to anyone! These guys are trustworthy, fair priced, talented, and great people. Five and a half stars. Thank you again!

Our motorhome broke down in Eureka on our way up the California/Oregon coast last summer. The very nice tow truck driver recommended Antich Automotive. After speaking with the mechanics about the problem, we walked down the beautiful old town district for some breakfast. Maybe an hour later, we were on the road again - and very happy with the efficiency, speed, and expertise with which these pros made the necessary repairs. The office people were so nice and friendly, and the mechanics, well, their work speaks for themselves. Reliable, honest, and efficient: for what more could we ask!

I was told 60-180 for them to see what was wrong with my car 7 hours later I had to call to see what was going on with my car and they said they are barley under the hood. Later I was charger the full 180 to see what was wrong . I asked why so much and the man which was the owner said take my car somewhere else if I dont trust him but I need to lay the 180 before I leave. Horrible place and thieves dont go . Being over 3000 miles from regular mechanic I was worried about finding a good place but luckily I happened upon these folks. Very solid service all around, they really went above and beyond. I will definitely be using them again if ever in the area.

Brought my car in for abs brakes and oil change. Car was working just fine until they worked on it. The more they worked on it the worse it ran. After several days of complaining we were told that we had been overcharged for the diagnostic and would receive a partial refund. Now the car barely runs and the engine light stays on as well as the the abs light all the time and theyy say they can find nothing wrong. Finally out of sheer frustration we took the car but did not receive any refund at all. We were told that we needed to buy a new car and that they would inspect it for an additional amount! We will never bring another vehicle to this place! And we will never recommend them to anyone else. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!

Worst car shop I ever been.We went yesterday to replace the power steering pump of our mini motorhome. Also they offered us a RV check and we paid it because we bought it few days ago and we want to know all the mechanic part aspects before our trip to US and Central America.Five hours after we left the rv there we got the first problem. They wont install the new used working pump that we bought and will need to buy a new one from them. Also they need to do a flush because if not well lose the warranty. The initial estimate was $270, with the new pump $511 and with the flush $720. I checked on google and a PS pump for a 92 Toyota Dolphin cost $90, so they are trying to take $640 in labor for 2 hours max job?!Then the nightmare continued. We paid $270 for a special RV check to know some obvious things like a light cover broken and a missing side marker. They told us the rear brakes were fine but the cant inspect the front brakes because well need to pay $90 more because remove the front wheels is time consuming (!!).So, if you want to throw all your money out, this is your place! If not AVOID!!!

I want to start by saying the people here are amazing, very kind and helpful.I purchased a car from them in November. It was a car they took ownership of after a customer never returned. I was told all the repairs were under warranty (there were many repairs), but found out later that this was untrue.. We bought the car and drove away. We get about 30min down the road to find the engine smoking. We decided to get to our destination since it was quite late. Upon calling them in the morning they said nothing was under warranty. I had to work my way up through the ranks to finally get them to do fix the car. It turns out the head gaskets were put on incorrectly. There was also a large amount of old oil and grease all over the underside of the engine which I had to ask them to clean up. They held true, and fixed everything.Well, here’s August and the car is falling apart. I’ve had to put in over $1000 in repairs thus far, even having to replace parts they had just replaced in Oct/Nov by AntichLike stated above, really awesome people, but their quality of work doesn’t seem to be there. It’s one of their main points of service, quality of work, it’s their motto. But I just don’t see it. Im having to pay for their poor worksmanship. I can’t recommend them.

Back in August, they broke a power steering part while changing my vans oil but the co owner, Devin, would not recognize their fault, even after insisting that it was not leaking before we came to see them (we had just driven from eastern Canada).I had to go to the garage in Ferndale to get it fixed. Cost me 100$. Really not happy.AVOID THIS PLACE.

Dealing with Antich auto is generally a good experience and the times there are issues they deal with it professionally and try and make it easy on myself or my wife.

The alternator in my 2002 Subaru Outback failed in December of 2014. I had my car towed from Arcata down to Antich in Eureka because a friend of mine was having work done on his car there at the time. Sure, why not.They phoned me when the new alternator came in, and said they ordered the wrong one and it would be one more day until its fixed, I said that was fine.After the repair, I still had the same dash warning lights (Battery Indicator) as I had before when the alternator was failing. In March 2015, I was towed to Antich again for a no-start. The determined it was corroded battery cables, and cleaned and re-clamped them. I figured this was part of the issue, they said nothing with the alternator on this trip. My car ran okay for a short time, then dash lights became an issue again.May 31st I was 400 miles into a 500 mile moving trip when the alternator failed. I was towed to a nearby shop off of I-5 about 100 miles from my destination and my family picked me up. This shop said the alternator was bad and replaced it, my Napa Autocare warranty paid for the repair except for a small part of the bill. I picked up the car 2 days later. Perhaps they just matched parts? Diagnostic computer shows NO issues. Still getting dash lights.July 11, the 2nd new alternator failed. THIS IS GETTING ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.I researched shops in the city where my parents live, made sure it was a Napa autocare center, and dropped it off for repair. Diagnostic computer still shows NO problems. This shop called the next day and confirmed my fear, my car didnt even have the right alternator in it!!! WRONG ALTERNATOR! They put in the right one and replaced a bad battery terminal.The paper trail of invoices shows the part number from the repair at Antich is the wrong alternator for my car, and this is where all of my trouble probably started... I really dont know for sure, but its on their bill as the wrong part so???They even called to say they got the wrong one and were getting the right one. I dont even know.... I just know the 4 cylinder alternator will not run my 6 cylinder car for long, and this has been one of the biggest pains in my a$$ for 7 months. Im a student and Im on a limited budget.$636 my original cost, and Napa Peace of Mind Warranty paid $1,022 total to fix this problem, twice.My insurance towed me 3 times for free, and those were some fun times trying to get somewhere for 4-5 hours, each of the three times I was towed because of this error.A bit pricey... If this isnt because of their mistake, it would be a heck of a fluke. I liked them at first, but I probably wont be back.
