I don’t know what to say that would adequately describe what a great auto shop this is. Nico, John, and Turk turned my disastrous road trip into one that got me safely back on the road in record time. They were thoughtful and genuinely cared about the work I needed done, as well as, answer any question I had. They really are remarkable!

Scammy, tried to scare me into an unnecessary $3000 repair: I had a no-start in 200 miles dashboard warning on my BMW 335D indicating incorrect DEF fluid which would disable the car. Nico charged me $135 to drain / refill the fluid and $150 to (mis-)diagnose the issue. When the warning didnt resolve with fresh fluid he stated that this meant the entire DEF tank / SCR system needed to be replaced for $3000+. But I happened to have a schematic of the system in front of me during our phone chat, so I asked him to clarify the problem: Nico insisted that the fluid quality sensors in the tank had evidently failed & therefore the whole system had to be entirely replaced. Unfortunately 1) there are no such quality sensors -- only temp & level sensors in the tank, and 2) Id already replaced the sensor / pump sub-unit recently, you do not need to replace the entire system, even if temp & level sensors had been the problem. I also found a tech training manual that said after flushing the DEF you need to drive the car for over 20 minutes to get the catalytic converter up to temperature so the DEF fluid shutdown warning can reset. So I did -- after 30 miles the shutdown warning went away without *any* repair. Nico was either oblivious or scamming me. I wont be going back.

The best way I can describe this shop is with a story: Back in 2010 I had some work done on an E36 M3 BMW, they overcharged me for a part (I didnt even realize) when they realized, they contacted me to let me know that they would be refunding me the difference. Never had a bad time or negative thing to say. Whether its a simple brake job, oil change, or a full transmission replacement, these guys have never done me wrong!

Ive been in twice so happy to find local experts. Total pros. Handled engine trouble, they also did some extra little things like lubricate my squeaky door without even mentioning it or replace the battery in my key fob re-establishing the ability to use the remote.

I trust them always getting the job done right.

The best place in town for German cars hands down. They took the time to track down and fix the myriad of issues my old 911 had and now its in great condition mechanically and cosmetically. Friendly, professional, and they always give my car back washed & know how to wash a car so they dont butcher the paint! I cant recommend these guys enough for problematic or older German cars.

Despite Covid and dropping in without an appointment they were able to give us peace of mind on a long road trip.Check engine light came on and tire pressure was wrong, they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix the tire pressure in a car they werent familiar with. They did all this without any cost, great service

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!Twenty minutes after my car was towed there and dropped off, i was arrested and sent to jail, not related to this review. the owner john, kept and protected my car for over a month, while i was in jail. Then when i was released from jail, i went to pick up my car, that was now repaired, and instead of charging me a storage fee, john simply smiled and said life happens Then they charged my dead battery for free!!! and sent me on my way with a handshake and a smile...Any other business would have kept my car altogether by charging me storage fees per day,.. but not this business. As john cares about his community.. and neighbors. Had I lost my car, I would have lost my job and my house.. and john knew it... and honestly cared about my situation.. and did all he could to help me.The repair job to my car is perfect, and my car is running much better.This is my new auto repair place for life, or at least while I live in humboldt county.

I took my Mercedes in for a headlamp change. They had the part in stock and I was back on the road in 15 minutes, even though the shop was busy. They have a comfortable waiting room with drinks and snacks. The shop deals with all German cars, even the rarer models. It is great to have a shop like this in our community.

These fine folks made my day today. It was a small gesture but it couldnt have come at a better time. I havent had any work done here yet but they demonstrated today that they are extremely knowledgeable and care about their customers.As a woman, I am often talked down to in auto repair shops, even by well-meaning folks. It doesnt bother me that much but its always a breath of fresh air to be treated with respect by auto mechanics.My mechanic (who I have also reviewed -- gotta give Dave a shout-out) sent me over because they had a part that he doesnt stock. Ill still take my old car to my classic Volvo specialist but Ill be adding Hubbards to my list of trusted mechanics as well.

Very friendly people out here. I came in on my 2005 Hyundai Elantra for a headlight fix, obviously not a car they typically work on. The worker came out and checked it anyways and was able to switch out the bulb. So appreciative, they could have easily recommended that I go somewhere else.

With any import the work will be expensive, but the investment in Hubbards level of quality is well worth it. Ive recommended them highly for the past several years and have heard from friends that their service is always top-notch.Their staff is always a pleasure to connect with, and a joy to aimlessly chat with. They provided my wife and I insights into which car to purchase, helping us review documentation & extend warranty information and provided input after a major car accident nearly totally out our Audi.Only reason Im no longer servicing my car at Hubbards is that Im leaving California. However, with friends and family locally whenever I visit plan on having the guys here check my cars and make sure things are working with German Precision.

The gentlemen at Hubbards have been really generous with their time for me.I purchased a 2001 Jetta from them about five years ago. It had been rear-ended and the trunk didnt lock, but other than that its been a great transportation automobile.For the last five years, the guys have attended to every small problem Ive had with it and frankly, it hasnt needed any major work done, not even tires. That car cost me $3000. I have been treated like I bought a $100,000 Mercedes. That is what customer service is about. My Jetta has finally died and they told me today theyd be happy to check out a newer Jetta Im looking at.

My audi said to add oil and they fix it. I was actually over filing it.
