Josh came out and repaired my a/cHe was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. He also replaced my water heater on the same trip out! I was very grateful they could do both while he was there.

We used Excel last February when our hot water heater went out. At that time we also had them install a water softener. That installation went very well, however, yesterday the water softener broke and we could not get anyone to answer the phone to come out to look it over. We utilized the live chat and was able to get an appointment for today. Both my husband and I received text messages verifying. It was supposed to be some time in the late morning/early afternoon. My husband tried calling several times and had to leave voicemails. No one called back. Around 4:45pm I started using the live chat again where we were connected to the office where again we left a voicemail. After 30 mins I went back to the live chat and they again connected me to the office. Finally someone picked up and said they would be out tomorrow. I told them I took off work today as the appointment was for today. Very difficult to get ahold of and then didnt come out. Not happy with the service this time.

Josh and Stephen came to repair our gas fireplace. They were prompt and very friendly. They took everything apart and cleaned as well as made the necessary repairs. Josh was fantastic!!! I called for a repair on my ac unit and ended up with ac and a repair on my hot water heater!!!! 10 out of 10....I didn’t know customer service such as this still existed!!!! Thank you Josh!!!!

I explained that our fireplace wasn’t working and then he pulled out a paper with four different packages he could do. Apparently that’s just what he know how to do and they are maintenance packages and cannot solve a problem. It stayed on when he left because I left it on. We turned it off and it has not worked since. We called him back the next day to tell him we had the same problem and he set up another service call that I needed to reschedule but he has not responded and will not answer our phone calls.I wish I had looked at the reviews before I called them. I had the same issue. Josh looks at your fireplace and then tries to sell you a ridiculously expensive package which I sadly bought even though he couldnt even articulate the problem that I had or what he was going to fix. When I asked questions it was half answers and now I’m wondering if he didn’t want to explain it to me, or if he had no idea what he was talking about and that’s why he trailed off.

Josh is one helluva nice guy. He means what he says and follows up on his work whenever necessary. With that bein said, his work is so professional theres very little need for follow up. He runs one of those Cant Lose companies, unlike the bottom-feeding outfits whose guarantees end as you watch the taillights of their trucks leave your home. He really believes your his neighbors, not just some number in a spreadsheet.

Set up an appointment and met Josh who was there simply to show me how to operate the gas fireplace. After about 20 minutes, Josh indicated that there were other repairs needed to be made. I asked him how much and he said he needed to go back to the truck and give me some options. At this point I’m already concerned because he could not give me an estimate of the needed repairs after looking at the unit. Josh come back with this list of “warranty products” he wanted to sell me. I asked him to just give me the minimum cost to get the fireplace up and running. He said it would be $664.00 at which point I told him that was too much and I needed to get another estimate. He then proceeded to tell me multiple times that there was safety issue that needed to ne addressed but he couldn’t tell me what the issue was. I became a little irritated because he acted like he needed to keep repeating himself about the “supposed” safety issue. I asked him to print out the bill for the service call and we can end this discussion. He was very condescending and treated me like a nuisance rather than a customer. When I tried to explain to him that he was repeating himself, he replied that’s what he has been told to do. Josh seemed to just want to argue his point regardless of what the customer is saying. Josh as the owner needs to work on his customer service skills and stop trying to “up sell” products and “unnecessary coverage” they don’t need and just give a simple estimate for repairs. Worst customer service experience in a long time.Update 2/18/20I was able to get the fireplace up and running with no more than $85 service call from another company. Despite what Josh says about his supposed safety concerns, I am happy to report the tenant and her baby are doing just fine without a $664 unneeded repair. I would suggest that the $149 service charge I paid should have been more than enough to show me how to properly operate the fireplace. If you continue to gouge people, you will soon be out of business because most people will see through your sales job for more money.

Josh Walker was excellent. This is the second time Ive used Excel for my emergency plumbing needs. Josh arrived quickly, assessed the situation, and provided me with a quote. They do an excellent job of keeping the homeowner notified of whats going on. The office texted me twice within a 1 hour period giving me an update of when Josh would be at my house. They say what they are going to do and then they do it with no hassles. If you are strictly looking for the cheapest plumber around then Excel isnt for you. Their quote may be a little higher than the next guys but it is WELL WORTH IT. You cant beat the peace of mind you get knowing they are taking care of it. Josh came out within an hour of me calling, immediately started digging up my yard(by himself with a small shovel) and worked until 7pm that night to get it fixed just so we would have water that night. After he left, I couldnt even tell where he had dug up!! They provide before and after pictures via email. I NEVER post reviews for companies but Excel does such an awesome job that I felt the need to give them a positive review. Just call them and you will not be disappointed.

Josh was great! Very friendly, fast service, and he even wore shoe covers which I really appreciated because I have hardwood floors! Prices are good too!

Josh came out for an issue on my upstairs unit, it was a simple fix, and I also had an issue with the downstairs unit which he quickly worked up, gave me multiple choices of how to fix it, and then worked on it. Showed me all of what he had done at the end. Double checked and confirmed all of our decisions. He was great to work with. Will call him again when I have issues!

I hired Excel to come in to inspect and repair my fire place in the home that I am selling. They were exceptional!! Amazing customer service, great communication, and they were very respectful of my time! I highly recommend them!!

The customer service was fantastic. The people showed up on time, helped me move one item that was just too heavy for comfort for me to try to do myself, and then got right to work with getting the insulation into my attic which is what I hired them to do. Afterwards they made sure everything was cleaned up and made sure that I got to look around to be sure I was satisfied with the work they had done before they left. I will recommend them to others and will call them again with future needs.

Josh and Laci were awesome! Went above and beyond to deal with our weird little house and having to retrofit an AC system onto old infrastructure. New Ducts, New internal and external system and its like a new house. Incredibly nice and very professional. Will use them again and again.

Set up an appointment to get a Lennox fireplace services and a fellow named Josh was sent to our house. Josh was extremely unprofessional when I had any questions; arrogantly responding with half answers and laughing at my knowledge at the inter-workings and operation of the fireplace. We didn’t even get to the explanation of the repairs or why it wasn’t working with the flurry of boyish self indulgence as a response to any questions I had on the fireplace. He refused to show me where the pilot light would be lit at, proclaiming “its back there, you can’t see it.” Trust was immediately and completely gone once he started laughing arrogantly at me. Customers are supposed to feel confident in the service and advice that service companies and their employees put forth when diagnosing and interacting with them. Josh showed a complete lack of professionalism and validation in his craft in our interactions. Do NOT recommend.

I cant say enough about the integrity of this company and the people that work with Excel Mechanical. Integrity and reliability is so difficult to come by in our area. This is the first time in over 6 years that I found a go to company for all my electric and plumbing needs. We needed to convert our home from Propane to Natural Gas quickly and at a fair cost. Josh went over and beyond. Within a 1/2 hour of calling him, he was at my doorstep with a quote. When the Natural Gas company came out to hook up our house Josh came that same moment. I felt like I had my own personal plumber on call and he lived up to that expectation. The work was fantastic and any concerns I had were addressed immediately. I asked him to come out again and check out something, he came running. I cant say enough with the integrity. Prices were outstanding and came far below other rates I had received in the past. I also was very impressed with Damion. Damion works in tandem with Josh and they made a great team. So rare when you find not only a company, but all the staff incredible to work with. On a side note, I had referred a neighbor and Josh gave me a referral credit! That made my day! We had also decided to purchase the hot water heater through Josh and it came with a great warranty. We also had Josh pick out new fireplace logs that were functional with natural gas. Josh took care of that in a snap. It was on order for 3 weeks, and the moment in came in he was at my house the next day. his commitment level was over and beyond! A testimony about when they were working at my neighbors. A small fire had started on another property near us. They dropped what they were doing and ran into another house and saved a child! Talk about going over and beyond the call of duty! If you are struggling with choices and even if Excel Mechanical comes in a little higher, may this review be the one that convinces you to hire Excel Mechanical. I cant say enough good about them!

I had a local plumber fixed everything for me for $160 that Excel was estimating for over $1100. Buyer beware they itemize and try to sell package deals. As my local plumber said “its robbery!” Oh yes and Excel still charge me $119 just to tell me I had a leak! Duh.... do not recommend!Update on Excel’s response: my local plumber fixes leaks like plumbers SHOULD DO instead of sell packages and itemize their services. Cleaning a drain alone with your company was >$300 do you follow a menu?

Josh and his team did a great job on my combo a/c and furnace in 2013, so I was glad to have him take a look at my plumbing problems. He gave me several options for repairs that took into account how much I wanted to spend.Edit- got the plumbing repairs done. Josh showed up when he said he would, did a thorough job on the work that needed done, and was consistent with the estimate. Cant ask for more than that!

These people are the best! The keep my home safe, comfortable, and working in tip top condition! Very rare to find a company that can help you with Plumbing, heating, and air! Not tha I want anytime no to go wrong, but when it does I know who to call!

My condenser was making a very loud noise and I called Excel Comfort Services. They were very prompt and got my unit working better than it had in a long time. While they were here they were also able to do some plumbing repairs that I needed done. Josh was very professional and courteous. No high pressure sales pitch. That meant a lot to me. We have have worked with Josh at Excel for nearly the past 4 years and we have been very pleased! He and his team replaced 3 HVAC units for us with 2 new Trane units and completely reducted our house. The new systems have worked very well and Josh and Laci are always a pleasure to work with.

Buyer beware...the Angies List Big Deal that this company advertises is a scam. The code upgrades and permit fees is where they get you. They charged me $300 for parts that I could have easily obtained myself for a little over $100...and probably less if I shopped around. They tried to charge me $150 for a code upgrade that was not required by my city. There was an additional $75 permit fee that may or may not have been bogus. I gave them a green light on the work only because I wasnt going to be able to take another day off work any time soon and didnt want to mess with getting a refund for the Big Deal and all that. The worst part is that I had a quote from another plumber Ive used previously that included additional items (new pan, a stand rather than cinder blocks, etc.) that this company did not install as part of their overpriced service, as well as a larger A O Smith tank...and all for less money. I feel bad for not giving the honest plumber I used previously my business and getting better work from it.I should have heeded some of the warnings on Angies List about their pricing. Please do not fall for the Big Deal...it is NOT a deal at all! I will never be using their services again. My complaints, however, only extend to the company itself; the actual technician who performed the work did a great job and was very polite and professional.Service performed: Removed a 50 gallon gas water heater and installed a new A O Smith 40 gallon gas water heater for $599 plus code upgrades and fees. Total cost was $974; initial total cost was $1,124. Competitor quote for larger water heater, additional new equipment, better quality parts, and much more experience was $960.
