I agree with many of the criticisms that Brandi and Zia made; see those two other one star reviews of the Durham. My teenaged son nicknamed the building The Dump-em. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The SMELLS, the construction noise, etc. I moved out late last year (2020) and I have never been so glad to move out of an apartment in my life. Beware of the way they assess move-out charges. They can literally charge you for anything they determine to be damage whether it was damage you did or damage(?) that may have been there before you got there. There is no way to prove you didnt do it. And trust me when you move in the apartment is not perfect. You are totally at their mercy and according to other reviews here, if you dont pay them what they determine your damages to be it may affect your credit rating. Also if you park in the garage the elevators dont go down to the garage level they stop at the lobby (which Ive never seen in any other building). You have to tote groceries up a very very long steep ramp and fob through two security doors with your arms full and walk through the lobby to finally reach the elevators. It is a huge hassle every day.

The Durham is a wonderful community and great place to call home. The staff is friendly and honest, and the amenities are top notch. The residents are kind and considerate. I relocated for work so I had give my move out notice. I have had zero complaints while living here. Thanks for being fantastic!

Constant construction going on above your apartment. The staff justifies the construction and unbelievablely loud noise as for the betterment of future guest. Never to think of the residents that are living here and pay an incredible amount of money. I work from home and it is impossible to do meetings and calls with the noise. The apartment has horrible management, two women that do not do anything to fix problems. I have seen multiple cars get towed. The elevators two elevators on each tower of the building are always reserved and/or broken. It takes forever to get up to your apartment. Parking garage has been broken multiples times, due to the one way in the front of the building you have to get back on the frontange road to then enter the apartment complex again to access the garage. The apartment itself is poorly put together, walls slanted and caved in, bugs, wires hanging out, trim thrown up, mirrors tarnished, heating and air turned off way to early, apartment gets way to hot in the winter. The apartment almost always smells of a strong garlic scent. Friends in the building that constantly get complaints meant for other apartments. Charge you completely outrageous amounts for maintenance. They offer amenities to move in residents but no amenities are available. The staff frequently deactivates the front door key fob, unable to get in. On a positive note the cleaning lady maintaining the building is outstanding. Needless to say I would not recommend this to anyone.

Things to be taken care before moving in.This review is constrictive and fair review of this property. For the people who decided to move in please check the below list.1. Once you are moved-in take a detailed photo/video of the apartment with major to minor details of it.2. Send it and take the sign off from the property manager. So that you are not charged inhumanely while you move out.3. While placing a work order, send a parallel mail to the department. in order to register your concern. Because later, you wont have the record of your services orders, apart from the auto generated system email.4. Dealing with the manager is a headache.5. Average amenities.6. Plus point, the maintenance staffs are awesome people.

Be aware that there is remodeling going on throughout the building and it is very loud Monday through Friday. Additionally my top floor unit has had a leak in both living room and bedroom windows. The complex promised to replace the windows, but did not do so for 8 months.

This is a pretty nice place to live. A great location, excellent amenities, and the friendly staff all make for a wonderful experience. My one complaint would be that (on my floor at least) there is a good chance youll be smelling curry at around 10am. Talk about a rude awakening.

I stayed here for about a year when I was between homes and had a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and the community of renters in the building was international and diverse - something that I truly appreciated and enjoyed. I enjoyed chatting with people as we went up and down the elevators and meeting the various dogs, children and families.Whenever I had an issue in the apartment, it was resolved quickly and efficiently; even after I had moved out and received an unexpected bill, the management was responsive, kind and generous in working with me to resolve the issue.I enjoyed being able to manage bills and maintenance requests online as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. The fitness center, pool, sauna and steam room were always kept spotless and clean and I often enjoyed the free, fresh coffee in the community room as I left for work in the mornings. And, I loved watching the fireworks displays from my balcony all around the Twin Cities on the 4th of July :-) Great place to live.

We’ve lived here for 4 years and never had any issues. Last week we had our first incident and it was handled extremely poorly. We have two cars one in the underground garage and the other in the back lot. They towed the one in the back lot because it had a flat tire. They left us a warning letter on the car week ago. We spoke with Doug told him we are working on getting estimates for the car and will have it towed as soon as we figure it out. The car had valid plates and the parking sticker we got from the apartment. It was not parked incorrectly, it was parked the furthest spot that no one wants and we let the office know. When we spoke with Doug and Troy about the car they both said take it up with the towing company (towing company has nothing to do with the apartment policies). Jacob at the towing was actually wonderful and helped us got our car with no issues. Towing closes as 4pm and he waited for us until 4:10 to get our car. We have AAA and could have towed our car at any point but we thought when he spoke with Doug that it cleared up. Honestly can’t wait for our lease to be done, that’s if we wait that long.

Great apartment to live in with lots of amenities. Rent is on a little higher side but have great move in deals. Its a high rise which has lot of benefits (noise control, view, etc.). The management (especially Doug) is really helpful and understanding and ensures all maintenance requests and concerns are handled quickly. Lots of apartments are getting renovated which gets noisy sometimes but other than that great place to live!

This place is AMAZING! Its like living in a 5 star Hotel with every amenity known to God and Man! I mean, it even has a PET SPA!!! SERIOUSLY?!! Yes - seriously. The staff and our neighbors are very friendly and if you ever have any problem with your apartment like a loose door handle or a dripping faucet, whatever, the maintenance staff is there to fix it THE SAME DAY!!! Personally, I cant imagine wanting to live anywhere else in the Twin Cities. The Durham ROCKS! Now, Im going to head down to the Coffee Bar and then take a dip in the indoor swimming pool.

They are renovating the apartments around ours and we hear grinding all day M-F. It’s so maddening that the amazing amenities and location don’t feel worth it at times. They should have warned us that they were renovating the apartments next door and above us when we signed a lease. Now I’m led to believe the great “promotion” they gave us was a coverup for the noise. I’ve requested them to stop at certain times of the day while my toddler naps but they declined to help.

Location, class, amenaties and value that are unparalleled. The Durham office staff, are like friendly neighbors and the maintenance team opperate like clockwork with a biase towards your convince. Couple that with the diversity, often scarse in Edina, and the level of professionalism and active engagement with the tenants (through social events and month by month awareness/community service intiatives), this is the crown jewel of edina living.

Love living here! We were doing downtown life, but it was far too noisy and complicated. Now we live in a beautiful building, filled with a close group of neighbors that go out of their way to know you, and managed by a great company known for high end complexes around the nation. We are close enough to get to activities, yet far enough to find peace and quiet when we just want to walk in the park next to the building.ps. If you google my name, you will see I am not an employee or BOT.

Very personal and friendly tour and application experience. Top of the line fitness center, beautifully updated and QUIET homes. Our leasing agent, An (and also Doug in the leasing office) went out of their way to accommodate us with emailed pictures and competitive pricing to help make a long-distance move easier. The Durham itself is centrally located in a great part of Edina with everything you need right nearby. We looked at so many apartments and we really appreciated Ans helpfulness, kindness and willingness to find the right fit for us. We have had an absolutely wonderful experience - thank you!

This apartment is absolutely pathetic. I have lived here for more than a year, and the employees that work in the front office are not very helpful. The older lady in the apartment office is very rude. She is uncourteous and has no manners.Maintenance is not prompt in fixing anything. The whole front office is renovated which is lipstick on pig. The apartments are old.The worst living experience I have ever faced.

Some of these reviews are old and so pre-date the huge renovations, most of which are complete but some of the apartments continue to be renovated. I believe that 100% of the renovations in the common areas like the lobby are complete. My wife and I moved here in February 2018 after 23 years in a house about 1.5 miles away. We are VERY happy that we did. The negative reviews about Doug, Troy, Shane, and others are bewildering to me. I suspect theyre written by rental agents at competing apartments in order to drive down the score of the Durham. We like a lot of things about living here, but the staff is at the top of the list. Every single one of them is courteous and professional. Theres an easy-to-use app (or website) for maintenance requests or tenants can go into the rental office seven days a week if they prefer to request help that way. The maintenance work is done the same or next day almost always. The only exceptions are when the job is more difficult, such as some electrical issues we had with a new stove. The company that installed the stove needed to come out as it was covered by warranty. Even then, the stove worked perfectly (light saying it was hot was on all of the time) and it only took a few days to get fixed. The cleaning staff is amazing. They are ALWAYS cleaning. The place is spotless even though it is pet-friendly, which was another necessity for us. They were slow to get dog poop picked up outside (pet owners really should do that themselves) of the north loading dock last spring but Ive never seen poop on the sidewalks, patio, lobby, hallways, etc.Communication is superb. Theyre careful about not bombarding us with too many messages, yet dont hesitate to reach out proactively if theres something important such as the need to remove cars from the parking ramp or lot when they were being cleaned and re-striped.Something else that we really like is the diversity. There are babies, toddlers, school-aged kids, young professionals, middle-aged folks like us, senior citizens, white, black, brown, etc. It is so fun to walk through the lobby and see a birthday party in the event room for a little kid and then go out onto the patio and see older residents having beers with their softball buddies.

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Stay away - there are better places for cheaper prices in the area. The elevators rarely work. Getting laundry done is a huge achievement as there are 8 machines for like 130 apartment units in each tower. Office staff are rude. You will end up paying way more for what is offered.

(which is why we did background check) They raised the rent $200 in less than a week!!!! Another building in area said to sue them. $65 per person background check is higher than the 2 companies used. They pocketed money & upped the rent. SO GLAD WE NEVER MOVED IN!!!!!!! Ive lived here 3 years for the convenience. The building is kept quite clean and other than the head manager who will never give you a straight answer to a question the staff is friendly and helpful (though the office staff turns over a lot, gee I wonder why?) I will warn you that if they tell you your utilities from Conservice (more like an association fee that fluctuates) will be around $45 per month DO NOT BELIEVE IT! I received my first bill in that range this month, it has been as high as 100+ depending on how they are managing things like air, heat, seeing that people moving in arent leaving the doors open on a very hot or cold day. ALSO expect your rents to go up, up, up... no good reason given. My rent has gone up $250 in 3 years! If you are looking for somewhere to call home for the long term and have a budget, look elsewhere. I spent 6 years in a lovely place and my rent increases were reasonable and the staff was nearly the same when I relocated here as when I moved in. Good managers make a huge difference, time for them to retire this old woman here. My most often discussed elevator talk with people moving out!

Pros- good location...err...thats where that list endsCons-Unsanitary to say the least, pet friendly however some owners allowed their pets to use the hallway in lieu of a litter boxUgly finishes and appliances, promised new upgrades prior to the move in however this was not delivered onThe walls bowed in from what appeared to be years of water damageCurtains were vertical plastic inserts that fell if you looked at them sideways (management attempts to make you pay for them regardless)Fridge leaked the whole year and despite communication with front office nothing was done.Sinks backing up and emitted geyser like pulses of black sludgeConstant construction on parking lots and balcony made parking difficult and sleep impossible (only time i was ever thankful for winter)The list continues but I have lived at many other apartments and have given them all 4s and 5s (im not incredibly difficult to please)I would urge someone to seriously reconsider signing a lease at this apartment complexJust my 2cents though

Exceptionally over-priced, even for a good location in Edina. You pay all utils - even water and trash - something I have never experienced in my 10+ years renting in SLP and Edina (I have my reasons for accepting this, but others wont get the same treatment).Staff is impressively powerless to do anything other than provide excuses - they are simply here to push paperwork around, not actual property managers.Elevator went out for 6 weeks earlier this year - not a single flyer posted saying it was broke or being worked on or an ETA on being back in service. Lady in office said they posted flyers, when I asked her to show me them she couldnt - if they lie about the little things, wait until something big goes wrong.HVAC problems are common (its a central system, so when it goes the whole place goes, which means repairs are complex and never timely).Recently changed outside parking rules and now tag and tow residents cars for always parking where they had for years. Fortunately I havent been hit by this change.Continue to perform on the surface cosmetic updates to make the place look good for prospective tenants, but behind the scenes this place is a disaster and in constant disrepair.Go anywhere else. Best thing about this place is the location - but there are dozens of properties in a two-block radius, so options are endless.

I could go on and on about how horrible this place is, the random charges on your monthly statements (which when asked about it they will make up some bs and let you wait 2 months before getting the money back to your account, they for sure take advantage of the elderly and foreign tenants), the screaming kids in the hallway, the hallways that legit smell so bad some days I have to hold my breath from the elevator to my apartment, the actual apartments are horrible and dont bother trying to use any of the amenities cause they are always broken or disgusting (I have pictures of mold growing in the washing machines because they never clean them.... yes their brand new laundry facility, that you are lucky to get one open washer because they have 1 laundry room for like 200 apartments) and the things that are broken are never repaired with quality. The woman down the hall from us went a whole week without heat this winter, no decrease on her rent or even an apology and she had kids living with her. This place is horrible, spend your money somewhere else.
