I had my phone screen replaced here.3 months later the new screen was not working. So, I came again for a new replacement. It took me 3 visits to get them to change it.4 months later, again, the new screen stopped working. When I came to the shop, they told me that the screen warrantee was only 3 months, so now I should buy a new screen. Of course, I didnt do that. They also told me that there probably was a problem with the phone (why did they made me change the screen in the first place if there was a problem with the phone?).I went home and opened the phone myself: the Geek Squad had the screen incorrectly installed: the connector cable was positioned in a way that the case was making pressure on the cable, damaging it, and had eventually cut it in half.I assume that they did this mistake both times. There was no point in discussing about warrantees and how they stole my money. I ended up buying a new screen at another store and installing it myself and now, after several months, it works perfectly.Summary: I paid for a new screen, the Geek Squad installed it wrongly (twice), causing irreversible damage to it. I ended up with a phone in worst shape that the one I originally brought to them and with $400 less. The company never even showed the sightless empathy. I must have visited the store 7 times, and explained everything to a bunch of different employees. They never reimbursed my money back.I DO NOT recommend their service. They dont even know how to install a new phone screen. Youll be better off by getting some good online technician or doing it yourself with some YouTube tutorial.
They didnt even fix the problem on my PC that I originally took it there for. And then I end up figuring out the problem myself after I had received my laptop back. Smh I shouldve tried harder to figure out the problem and I maybe wouldnt had had to spend that 200 dollars. They maybe updated my computer but the simple discrepancy i had was not fixed, I fixed myself. It was a real easy fix.Im not sure they actually did anything to be honest.SMH
I rely on this Geek Squad to solve no less than half the problems I face. Like, in life, generally. Seriously, everyone Ive worked with at the New Hope Commons team has been incisive, well-informed, committed to taking care of you--even if its a little outside their expertise.Only area for improvement is in admin--like the scheduling set-up, for instance.
Geek Squad is the best! They fixed my grandson’s best but purchased computer when it lost all sound while we stood there. The geek squad technician had excellent customer service skills and was very knowledgeable. I’ll go to geek squad with all my technical issues in future.
Don’t take anything to them. They overcharge you, and if they can’t fix it they will not refund you the full amount because ‘it broke their equipment’ why is it my fault that your equipment broke trying to fix mine. I shouldn’t be charged for your faulty equipment. Better off finding some other place. Oh never take Apple equipment to them.
Purchased the $200 service package when I had a problem with a laptop that would no longer recognize an external mouse. After 3 days, I was informed that to fix it, they would have to reload the operating system and that I was going to have to provide recovery discs from the mfg. I would also have to reload all of my software programs myself. I decided not to go that route and instead did a little research on the Internet and found that the problem was because of a Microsoft Update. Fixed it myself. My second attempt to use the service program was when the hard drive one of our laptops started failing. They said that they would have to replace the hard drive, which I expected but then told me I would have to call the mfg and obtain recovery discs so they could reinstall the operating system and that they would not be able to reinstall any of the software programs. I would have reinstall all software myself. When I asked them to just image the drive, they said it was Best Buys policy not to image failing hard drives. So, I decided to go to plan B. I found a good local tech and he imaged the drive onto a new hard drive and I was back in business.Needless to say, the service contract has been next to worthless. I dont know if it is because of inexperienced techs or Best Buy policies or a combination but they seem to have a very shotgun approach to fixing things. Needless to say, I will not be back.
Excellent service, professional and prompt, computer fixed first time!
