LOVE LOVE LOVE Renew Downers Grove. The pool is clean and relaxing. The management staff is extremely attentive and professional. The grounds and community is beautiful. Highly recommended. Spacious homes, central location. Holly, Stacey and Melissa are the best! Thank you for all you do!
I normally dont read reviews because the negative ones are being written by the person who is the problem. But I felt it was my due of diligence to commend the amazing staff at Renew Downers Grove. Great service, very informative and responsive. The apartments are upgraded and spacious. The grounds are kept clean. I love bringing friends over to show off my home.
The staff at Renew Downers Grove is exceptional!!! Everyone is attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns. From the office staff to maintenance. Great place to rent. The grounds are kept clean and everyone is very friendly!!
Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE living at Renew!!! Stacy, Holly and Melissa have been such a pleasure to work with from the time I moved in and making me feel at home. Great location, neighbors are very friendly and quiet. I look forward to enjoying the pool once it opens!!!
I lived at ReNew for a little over a year, and it was a great experience. The amenities are excellent. There were tons of improvements made that year, including updating the landscaping around the courtyard and adding additional grills for residents to enjoy. I used the clubhouse gym every single day, spent countless hours studying in the work space, and enjoyed many sunny days by the pool in the summer. There are tons of fun community events, like a chili cook-off, pumpkin painting, and bi-weekly happy hours. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have such a difficult job to do - keeping the peace in the community while enforcing the rules - and I always felt that they were reasonable and fair. They go out of their way to get to know residents. Holly and Victor always stopped to say hi to my dog and sneak him treats. After I moved out, they actually called me to let me know a package had arrived there, and they kept it in the office so I could pick it up at my convenience. That kind of personable experience is really rare, especially when renting, and I felt fortunate to find it here. ReNew has a sense of community that is truly unique; its the kind of place where people actually stop to hold a door open for you. The apartment, like many, has faced a difficult set of challenges this year due to the virus, but I think management consistently makes tough choices to abide by state laws and CDC recommendations in order to keep people safe.
I have never met a more personable individual than HOLLY JONES!!!!I was looking for an apartment for my mom who is moving from out of state and we visited a few times. Though the property is terrific and amenities great, the true draw was Holly. Her willingness to help and desire to help us find the right place was incredible. Trinity Properties has a GEM in her and if anyone every forgets that I will gladly have her come work for me. A tremendous asset to your company. Holly is someone who needs to be recognized for her commitment, dedication and true professionalism.More importantly is her personality, compassion and the care she takes. We chose a different Trinity property for personal reasons, but would have chosen Downers Grove if staff was the only deciding factor. Even after finding out my mom would not be living at the Downers Grove property Holly still called to wish her the best and offer any assistance she can.Renew is a great place and Holly makes it even better!!!
Maintenance was great! Steve and Dan did a great job! They responded to our order very quickly like always. They assisted us with all our issues and even went above and beyond taking care of a filter installation we needed help with! They are very classy and go the extra mile!
Love ReNew! The floorplan is so spacious and the bathrooms are huge with large tubs! Gorgeous views too! Stacy is amazing, so helpful and friendly!
Love the private balconies and open kitchen! Great location and management is super welcoming and friendly!
I recently signed my third 15 month lease, and due to the state of the economy the property has chosen not to Increase the rent. The residents and staff are friendly and helpful. The staff is very accommodating, and provides almost immediate attention to all issues. The maintenance and cleaning crew are very professional, and polite. I’d add an extra star if we had a children’s playground added, to the many amenities already provided.
I really cant say enough great things about this place. I loved living here, but I recently left because I bought a house. The apartments are huge and the location worked perfect for me. The staff are super friendly and always helpful. A great team and management. The community is quiet, respectful, and pet friendly. The patios are huge and allow for a good size grill and furniture. Maintenance is an app report away. Rent and utilities are paid on another app. Apartment access and temperature controls are also app controlled. Truly a state of the art community. If you have normal working hours, they hold resident events frequently. You get what you pay for here, and completely worth it.
Andy was a great help in fixing my carbon monoxide detector. He was here bright and early to take care of it and wanted to make sure we felt safe being in the apartment. I really appreciate his attention to detail on this matter and letting us know to reach out if the problem persisted.
Overall, we enjoyed staying at ReNew Downers Grove for nearly two years. There were nice amenities and community events most of the time. That being said, there were some major drawbacks. First, do not under any circumstances lease a Belmont (courtyard facing) unit. Dog owners put their animals on the balcony for extended periods of time which cause them to bark and howl. Once one dog starts, others join in. The howls amplify of all three buildings and you feel as if you live in a kennel. The management at this property is also extremely bothersome and patronizing. Let me start by saying Holly and Stacy are aces - all the residents appreciate them. The property manager, Victor, has no people skills or problem solving skills. You will get frequent emails of the community being reprimanded for rule violations including: luggage carts being removed due to lack of care, pool rule violations, smoking violations, pet off leash violations, and more. Not too long ago a resident left non-perishable food out in the common areas in three buildings with a note to take what you need due to recent economic challenges. Management sent an email discouraging these gestures due to bugs. When management to has the opportunity to flex, they take it.On January 19th, 2020 my girlfriend took a nasty spill on ice on the sidewalk that was there for a few days. We sent an email to management notifying them of the situation and never received a response. Though they took corrective action, they never acknowledged our email. Not even a simple apology for lack of upkeep that resulted in injury.Lastly, due to Covid-19 ReNew will not allow in-person final inspections. They will give you a move out checklist with things you need to do. We moved out and followed the checklist and received a bill for $85 dollars for professional carpet cleaning. The only way to have the bill removed was to produce an receipt for carpet cleaning services. So if you do it yourself you are out of luck. I tried to work it out with Victor, but he was of no help. I called central billing to work it out and they said expect to hear back in two weeks. I never heard back, so I followed up. I never heard anything back from central billing.Ultimately, ReNew is a bad value proposition. While most of the residents and staff are great, it simply isnt worth the money or headache. ReNew positions their brand as luxury living, but its far from it.
Great management all around. Friendly and easy to work with. We recently had a fire alarm unit go out, and start beeping every minute. Andy with maintenance was up to replace it within 10 minutes. Weve had a great experience here. Quiet and respectful community.
Love living here! Andy recently helped me with a broken washing machine and was great to work with. I could not be more thankful for the quality care I receive here as a resident.
I want to share with everyone, interested in renting an apt, this is the place, One main reason is this wonderful, very soft spoken, very lovely, and above all very helpful, Lady, Sharon Gutzke. She works in the office and I cannot even think of leaving this place only because of Sharon, who goes out her way to help you, and even teach you, how to make coffee and never gets tired for any work you tell her.Sharon is always smiling and happy . May God bless you Sharon .
The new team that manages the property is doing an awesome job in both managing the property and bringing it up to the standards that this property has been known for. Victor and his team truly care about the people here - It shows from all their personal interactions.
I have lived at Renew Downers Grove for a few months now and my wife and I are very happy with our choice to move here. We worked primarily with Holly from the Renew offices to tour and move into one of the townhomes. Holly was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. The other staff members have been great as well.My wife and I love the amenities, including the gym and free coffee machine available to all the residents. The location is great for us. Renew is in close proximity to lots of shopping and restaurants, easy access to the highway for commuting to work and just a short drive to Mariano’s grocery store.I’d highly recommend Renew Downers Grove!
I am a current resident at Renew Downers Grove, I am leaving in a few weeks. I am leaving for one main reason, the Manager, Victor L. ( I know his last name, but will not reveal it as I want this review to stay up he is the only Victor there). Please note to all reading, I am only moving out because of Victor, there is a form Holly the leasing agent filled out, she wrote the reason I am leaving is because I am moving closer to work, Complete BS, it is because of the lackadaisical, unpleasant, unprofessional, amateur, no accountability excuse for a Manager. I would go on, but I am limited to words on the reviews on google.I wrote a review about how bad this place has changed since renew took over on Yelp, as well as the ignorance of the manager Victor on Yelp, & I am being retaliated and also there is form of discrimination against me as well here is how. I know the law!In the leasing agreement that these places put in place we are to adhere to all polices as residents which is fine, but it is ok for the leasing agents to veer from following the rules they put in place? No, they cannot according to my attorney and will be held liable and accountable if what is supposed to happen does not according to renters rights, there are codes I will not enter but they are readily available online. Victor claims there is a new policy but its only for the management team to see, I have not seen it nor have I signed such new policy.Victor is REFUSING to review my apartment before I leave while I am there. It is my right as well as it is clearly stated in the lease that they reccomend the tenant be present while this happens to work together if anything is wrong. Victor is using Covid-19 as an excuse for me not to be there while here is there, this is unacceptable because we are in phase 4, and people are out as long as we wear facemasks. Secondly, this piece of garbage was showing apartment in phase 2&3 with potential new renters, he walks around the community with no mask on in and outside, and has actually done a final walkthrough with an a acquaintance of mine who just left, that is why I feel I am being retaliated against because he dont like me for some reason, I could care less to be honest, but I believe its due to the yelp review exposing his malice. He sends out many emails scolding the tenants like we are 4 years old. Anyone can write emails trying to look like and angel, but its actually Judas writing the email. The place smells like smoke, non-smoking policy is BS, I love pets, but the courtyard sounds like a kennel at least 10% of the time. And the rents are up 15% from last year & during a pandemic to boot people because they are losing tenants like crazy and have to make up for it elsewhere. Anyone want to pay $1650 a 1 bedroom? Or how about this one of my buddies is paying $2300 for a 2 bedroom. These were much lower 2 years ago,1- bedroom was $1300, and the 2 bedroom was $1600. You do the math he gouging . The best part is I have emails validating my words and this is not the end of it. I am going to the proper authorities because of the discrimination and retaliation. He has 30 days to tell me by law what needs be fixed if anything before my departure. I will take pictures of my pristine apartment to protect myself from his bullying practices. I have done my part why wont you do yours. He actually mentioned the safety of his staff is his number one priority, which is admirable but thats a an excuse not engage with tenants who could read through your BS. Shame on you for being who you are and what you represent. So, I was told to leave my keys in an envelope with my new address.I thought I was the only one, but there was a petition created by someone in our community demanding change and Victors removal from office, it was up for 2 hours when I got to it and there were 30 signatures already, thats what happens when you bully people they fight back! There response team who reviews these and says we will work on it and apologize is all BS too.
The staff is very friendly. Thank you Andy for quickly handling my maintenance request!
Staying here for last 2 years and just renewed my lease for 3rd year. Apartment are little pricey but you get what you pay for. One of the best community to live in the area. Its like you are in center of everything but still peaceful. Ample parking available. Staff and maintenance team always listen to our concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner. Great kitchen storage space and modern appliances. Havent heard about any crime in the area in this last 2 years. Also, all our guests love this community and apartments. Great swimming pool, gym and grill area.
This was the first apartment complex I visited and I felt immediately that I wanted to live here. I have lived here 2-1/2 years and have enjoyed everything about being a resident. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful and I feel at home here. As other reviewers have said, Ashley is especially outstanding at her job and truly is a wonderful, caring person. The staff puts on special events throughout the year for the residents. Maintenance is fast and efficient.
This is my first official review of anything. The Residences at the Grove certainly merits this review. I was treated with the greatest care throughout the entire process of renting an apartment. Everything is new and clean. Its been an overall great experience. Ashley is absolutely the most professional, competent and sincerely kind individual Ive encountered in a long long while. Great place to live!
Good Apartment. Well Maintained. They make sure the property is kept clean. Maintenance staff is great and always attends non emergency calls within a day. Dont know every staff from Maintenance by name, but they always greet you. Ricardo is great and pleasant person to work with. From the office staff we have interacted mostly with Ashley and she is excellent. She always handles any query/question pleasantly.Office conducts frequent functions and its good if you are interested. What we dont like : Rooms are smaller, compared to the bath room :-) Floor-plan could have been a bit better. Parking space in the garage is a little tight for Mid Sized Cars/SUV.
Property Management is VERY unprofessional by not following through with $500 VISA CARD MOVE INCENTIVE. At lease signing, I was promised in writing I would receive a $500 move in fee within 8 weeks of move in.Its now 1/23/2020, 110 days since the move in and have only had back and forth email communication with Property Manager-Victor Ledezma, on why Community Rewards hasnt received payment (supposedly $500 VISA CARD is distributed to tenant through email). Victor was supposed to send to payment to Community Rewards. However, theres been countless tickets being submitted to corporate. And was also told before Christmas he expedited a check, still nothing. The regional manager, Lori Jones, was also being ccd on email at my request. No communication from Lori either, just on the email for show. Not a word from her.Sadly, they are promoting $500 visa card move in incentive at the moment. Now unfortunately, after no course of action, Ive decided to take this to Small Claims Court. So tenants beware! If youre planning to sign when they offer lease incentives, especially $500 visa card, you wont receive it. Never experienced dishonesty and failure to follow through from property management before. Ever.
This is a great place to live! Very quiet with spacious apartments. The Maintenance staff are quick and accommodating. The Office staff are very nice and professional. Location is great, with access to I355, shops, malls and restaurants. I would highly recommend!
Im not sure where the other reviewers with negative comments lived but it certainly wasnt at The Grove. This place is absolutely fabulous! I lived there for four years (pretty much since it opened). I miss it so much. Im admittedly a very picky person and I have to tell you this place is wonderful. The apartments are gorgeous and well maintained. The staff in the management office is courteous, friendly and very helpful (particularly Ashley, Karen and Dawn). What I enjoyed the most is that the staff takes the time to get to know the residents and they respond very quickly to service requests or questions. The exercise facility is nice and clean and the grounds are well manicured. The Grove is sort of hid away from the street which makes it feel like a quiet peaceful get away. The apartments are beautifully appointed with high quality features.Move out was a breeze. I requested a walk through which I received and was only charged a nominal fee as stated during the walk through for an item I was aware would be an issue after living in my apartment for so long.Ive been fortunate to live in several upscale apartments, this one is by far the best.
Oh how we love this place! My fiancé and I cannot say enough about how weve been treated the whole time we’ve been living here! We are coming up on two years in September and it just keeps getting better and better! First of all, they’ve done a huge renovation to each of the buildings, the pool and the clubhouse, and oh my gosh is it amazing! We had our engagement party in the Clubhouse house and had over 50 people that we catered it for! It’s so spacious and has everything you need to have a fun gathering. The pool is amazing, my fiancé and I feel like we are on vacation every summer, we can’t believe this is where we live!Of course we have had a few minor things to take up with maintenance, but every time we need something, the work order is alerted to us through our SmartRent app (which is super awesome because you can lock/unlock your door from your phone, you don’t need a key, and you know when maintenance is coming by) and addressed promptly. Andy on the maintenance team has been so amazing! Fixing each thing the right way the first time, and you can tell he truly cares about making sure everything is to the upmost standard for us! He is very respectful of us and our apartment. Nothing but great experiences with him and the maintenance team!We too moved in when the old management company (residences at the grove) was still here, and since Victor and Holly have taken over, we are so impressed and happy with the way they run things now. They are always an email/ phone call or office visit away and always get back to you promptly! Not to mention they are always trying to organize fun events for the community to partake in like Beer tap Fridays, pool parties, and even movie nights! This place has everything you need in regards to safe, luxury living. This coming from two people who, admittedly, have very high standards, shopped comparable apartments in the area and are VERY picky! We are pleased to call Renew home for the foreseeable future.
Living at The Residence at the Grove is a wonderful experience. I enjoy living here. The management staff is wonderful, and the maintenance people are awesome. Maintenance is always there when you need them. Thank you MaintenanceI would like to give special thanks to Ashley. She is an outstanding worker. She is very professional, friendly, a team-player and most of all a beautiful person. . Keep up the good work Ashley. You are AWESOME!
I lived here for 2 years. The apartments are very very nice and the ceilings and space make you feel comfortable and not confined by any means. The staff in the office is kind of half and half. Employees like Ashley A are the happiest, best people you want to work with/deal with. Some other employees only act nice but you can tell it is fake. Too many rules from the complex itself and not enough freedom as a resident to do a lot of things youd like to do.
Stayed here for a short term, absolutely no complaints. The employees were very helpful, 24/7 service, and accommodating. I will recommend anyone to stay here, I know Ill be returning here if I end up in the area.
Renew bought this property from Residences at the Grove in Sept 2018 and the old team left in full by early 2019. So keep that in mind when you’re reading reviews. The buildings and clubhouse has been redecorated and it is hideous, it’s a dingy battleship gray downgrade.New management changed building pet policy and now all 3 buildings are dog friendly instead of just one. This is really disappointing because that was one of the the main attractions to leasing in the community.A growing number of neighbors are very inconsiderate pet parents, and let their dogs bark all day everyday. Nothing like incessant barking to greet you and permeate the walls for hours. It sounds like a Kennel now, with surprise feces & urine left in the building. If you do move to the community, do NOT rent a courtyard facing unit. It may be pretty, but every single sound is SUPER amplified and echoes off the building walls. The community setup is unintentionally really unfortunate for noise level.Even with closed windows and doors you hear every conversation outside, dogs in the other buildings, unattended dogs left to howl outside on the balconies, unit activity, also the guy who revs his motorcycle every.single.night at midnight. Rent from the outer perimeter, MUCH quieter. The community has lost a bit of its visual appeal, and I personally believe the poor behavior of a growing number of neighbors has lessened the quality of the community as well, but your mileage may vary.
Thiss a great place to live, probably the best in the suburbs. The buildings are very new, quality construction, appliances, heaters, AC units etc... The staff is as friendly as it gets and you can always get help if you get locked out or else. Im not sure where had the other (negative) reviewers lived but it cannot be this rental community. The only downside is the price, as well as the rent increase every year which probably is more than other rental complexes.
Great location and fantastic amenities, we especially love the gym and the coffee machine in the luxurious club house.
Have only been here a week and the dryer has broken twice. The first time it actually electrocuted me bad enough to burn my fingers. The garage door openers didn’t work and gave them back to office manager who did nothing. Took 3 days of follow up to get those working. The basement door to the outside wouldn’t lock for the first 3 days we lived here so we were unsafe. They knew and took days to fix again. It was a fight to get the contract right and it wasn’t even for the unit we asked for. The refurbished units only have new counters in the kitchen and vinyl faux wood floors. The rest is old and cheap like when it was built over a decade ago. Not worth the price for the horrible service and amenities.
Good location, the staff is kind and friendly, nice building, Holly and Sharon are super sweet.
Where to start, this new management is just the worse kind. I have been a resident almost for 1 year. I was very happy with the previous management. And their staff. Very humble and qualified. Upon changing the management things started to tumble. To start with the property manager I don’t think he has the experience to handle the renovations and customer service. He’s very rude and unprofessional. The maintenance request has been a pain this property manager just cannot get to the bottom of the issue that the request for maintenance has to be fixed in time.My family came to visit me and had an emergency and I had to call the 911 and when they approached the Knox box was not working the medical help couldn’t reach me on time as they were struggling to open the Knox box to get the key to open the doors. Finally they had to call me to come down and open the door for them. I am very sure you property Manager or your company will be getting some letter from the fire chief and fire department. It could have cost my fathers life because Dan your property Manager is not on top of his works.I assure you, you someone from the company comes and ask the all the residents you will come to know how’s your local office and the staff is doing their job.Inspire of all this, I approached the office again to renew my lease and transfer me to a bigger apartment or townhouse, as I am very busy and traveling most of the time, they want me to do the complete process again. Seriously. It’s ok as so many residents are leaving, include me as well. I came back to you guys keeping the previous management I my thoughts. Jesus.Anyhow, best of luck.RegardsKartik Shandil
I lived at the grove for 3 years while in school and absolutely loved it. I lived in the one bedroom, two bedroom, and townhouse through my stay and all were great. Ashley, Karen, and Tessa were amazing to work with and helped me with anything I needed. The apartments are beautiful and top of the line with high Ceilings - great for a big guy like me. Maintenance was always good about coming over to fix any issue I had and was always friendly. The gym is a little small but it honestly doesnt matter bc most of the time there is hardly anyone in there. The pool is a huge plus and is very nicely done. The office staff is always having some type of party or festivity for the residences which is great. My only advice is to maybe avoid the townhouses if you have pets bc you will more than likely be charged for replacing carpet and its almost a 2,000 fee for carpet replacement when you move out which was a lot to come up with when you are a student, though the carpet did need replaced in living room. If youre looking for a beautiful facility to stay at thats quiet and top of the line Id recommend this place to anyone.
Unfairly claiming my deposit for carpet repairs because they said the company they work with suggested to do a pet urine testing. Well, in order for the pet urine to be there, there has to be a pet involved. I do not have a dog/cat or a service dog and never had a visitor with a service dog or a cat. I was NOT in a pet friendly building and own no dogs or cats whatsoever!!! The rug is an original rug from the time of construction and who know previously who had a cat or service dog. They did not return my security deposit after sending multiple emails and multiple voice messages i get an invoice with my security deposit deducted plus a balance. The maintenance service is slow and they never return calls in timely manner. I will put another review for that and each incident that happened while I was leasing.
Every aspect of the property (inside and out) is managed with care and precision. RMK leasing agents, maintenance, and managers perform to the level of a well deserved #1 recognition for management excellence. Location is a 10 of 10. N-S-E-W travel is a dream. I love my 2 car garage!! I selectively visited 8 nearby rental properties before choosing the best property for the best price. Security standards, solid construction, maintenance precision, and finally----the pool-- hooked me to what is now for me, rewarding/worry free living at The Residences at the Grove. The personal care from the staff and bonus amenities really top the cake. Obviously, these are not promises but my personal Residence at the Grove experiences.
Where do I start? I have been a resident at this location for a little over two years with little to no issues or concerns! Recently, the property management group changed hands which I assumed is due to the selling of the property. The review is based on my time here when this location was known as The Grove. The location of the complex is easily one of the best; being right off of 355 / 88 and down the street from two malls - Oak Brook being one of my favorites in Illinois!Ashley and Reymundo, have made my stay here very enjoyable- they both have treated me like family during my time here - in two very different units. Reymundo, stayed back to join the new staff (Trinity PM Group) -Thank you.As for the new team - they seem to be very hands on and over communicate the changes taking place in the complex’s - which is needed! Dan, the new head honcho based on my email communication with him has been all over my concerns since the change in leadership. The only, early call out I have would be the maintenance request as they have taken forever to get answered and even when they did; the mechanic would come in move all my furniture around and not move them back - intrusive I know - but that’s renting for ya!For insight (in case you were wondering), I am moving due to work if I were to stay in Illinois, I would definitely maintain my residences with The Grove... I mean - ReNew Downers Grove :)If you are looking for a slightly high end community check out this location you can’t go wrong.Peace!
UNFORTUNATELY, the company policy on the rent agreement is unyielding and archaic. They actually made my husband pay thousands of dollars in rent, month after month for 7 months, even though the apartment was empty and my husband had married me and moved hundreds of miles away out of the state. So, be warned, you better read your rental contract carefully, or you could be on the hook for thousands of dollars.
Im not sure where to start. I guess its mix of appreciation for management & staff and a bit of counterview to the reviews Ive seen from other legacy tenants.I moved here to downsize from my house 2+ years ago. I reside in a townhome so, my living experience may be very different from the apartment towers so Ill focus primarily on my interactions with management, staff and the common areas... However, Ive had little to no issues with my townhome. In the 2+ years Ive been here I had some trouble with my dryer, it took a few days to get it addressed but, it was replaced and Ive no issues since. When I owned my home and the washer was broken, it took a couple of days for my homeowners insurance to get a maintenance technician dispatched to get it fixed so maybe I have a realistic expectation for some maintenance issues? My sump pump in my townhome needed to be replaced, it was taken care of in a few hours. There have been numerous changes, the complex was sold and is under new management. I use the conference area as an office 3-4 days per week when Im in town and I use the gym frequently. Honestly it was very inconvenient when the clubhouse was closed for remodeling but, how else could the clubhouse and gym have been remodeled without closing it? Frankly Im happy with the result...I appreciate the 24 hour access to pick up packages as well as 24 hour access to common areas(kitchen and living areas). I like the gym expansion, new elipticals and Peleton bike, connected to wifi and includes a Peleton workout subscription for live classes. The yoga room is a nice addition. Another Peleton bike would be nice but, thats suggestion not a complaint or criticism :-)Ive seen negative remarks about the decor of the clubhouse, honestly I dont get it. I dont think the point of the remodel was to meet a specific design style for a select group of residents. What was management supposed to do, consult tenants for their input on the common area decor? LOL Its a common area for ALL RESIDENTSWhen I moved here, the leasing staff was Ashleigh, Raymondo and Michelle. At some point last year a new manager, Nicole came and left when the property was sold. All were very, very nice, friendly and helpful. Now we have Dan, (property manager), Holly and Sharon(leasing consultants). Dan is pleasure to speak with and a hands on guy with respect to the changes. Ive seen the guy in cargo shorts and T-shirt planting bushes and cleaning the pool.. Holly and Sharon are delightful, professional and very helpful. Ive had a couple of issues with the rent payment portal that resulted in some inconvenience however, each time I went to Holly and Sharon, they resolved it for me.I like living here and really appreciate the changes because they represent needed improvements.
I just read another review pointing out that maintenance is slow and doesnt return calls. Slow isnt the word. I have had 4 or 5 service requests. One of them was fixed out of 5 and it took 2 days. I have had no working microwave for 3 full days after calling each day and even speaking with the maintenance supervisor in the elevator about it. I still have an electrical short in my bathroom so when I use the fan the fuse blows. My name was never listed in the building directory. After several weeks they put a misspelling of my name in the directory. For the kind of money they charge for rent this is not acceptable. I came here from an apartment community in Naperville which was nice, cheaper, and service requests were always fixed the same day.Another issue Id like to bring up is the fountain and courtyard. Every building faces the courtyard. You would think they would take pride in making it beautiful. Its OK. The fountain is the most boring fountain Ive ever seen. No lights, 3 inches of water, if that, and its just like 3 leaking pipes. If youre going to have a fountain, have a nice fountain. Again, the community I came from had ponds with fountains that sprayed water way up in the air in a fancy manner. That and many of the lights in the courtyard arent working. On the plus side, the staff in the leasing office is friendly. The apartments are relatively quiet with good sound dampening. The balconies as red nice as well as the flooring and the granite counter tops. Nice shower. The kitchen cabinets are bland though. Need more storage. The closet isnt very large and only few units have storage areas on their balconies. Not sure I will renew my lease unless things improve and rent charges is competitive with other communities.
No words can explain.
I honestly have no idea where the previous reviewers are living, but it couldnt be The Grove. From the moment I walked into the leasing office and met Ashley (leasing agent), I knew that living at The Grove would be fantastic. Ashley showed me the property, walked me through the process, and ultimately handled every detail of my move-in. The entire staff is pleasant, and seem to be very attentive to everyones needs. Ashley, in particular goes above and beyond what should be expected, and is simply a tremendous asset to the management team.In regards to the negative comments about utility bills - they simply are not true. I recently received my first months utility bill that is clearly ONLY my usage in the amount of $38! To suggest that the property is somehow mis-billing people of profiting from the utility charges couldnt be further from the truth. One recent evening my washing machine begin to leak water all over the bathroom floor. I made a call and John (maintenance) was at my door with a Shopvac in less than 10 minutes. This night happened to be game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals (Chicago Blackhawks), so clearly John had better things to do at 7 pm. He was however very pleasant and fixed everything in minutes. Just another example of a staff whos priority is their tenants.Ive lived at The Grove for 3 months now, and honestly couldnt be happier with the property and its staff. It is very quiet - Ive never once heard voices of footsteps from my neighbors. The residents that use the grill/patio area which is located just outside and below my unit, are very respectful and the gatherings never get out of hand. Its a truly an amazing place to call home!
The last three months have included resident gun play, multiple break ins and incident requiring property lockdown and searchs of all units in the complex by police, nuff said....
