Waited hours for a tow to show up after my insurance company put in a request. Never answered the phone and when they did, they hung up.

If I could give a negative amount of stars I would. Can’t believe this dump is still open. Everyone there should go to prison.

Was assigned this towing company via my All State motor club. membership. The initially said that they would be at least 1.5- 2 hours out. After waiting for 2 hours, the company updated the status on the app to towing completed. PLEASE stay away from this business.

Car was towed from a city street for not having a proper tag on it. It was rental car. Charged me $445 to get it back. Not even my car and still had to pay. Odd that they towed me off a city street. City of Detroit says they had no right to tow me.

This place is a joke. We called at 11AM they said it would be $85, and take 45 minutes and they would call when they got to the vehicle. It got to be 1PM and we heard nothing, we called over 100 times (literally over 100) and no one answered. We FINALLY got someone on the phone and they said they were almost to us and will be there within 10 minutes. So we waited, after TWO hours we kept calling finally got someone on the phone, they said they’d check the status and HUNG UP on us .. we called for hours and no one answered. Car was never picked up and still haven’t heard from them. I will be reporting to BBB and the local police station as this place is a scam... we tried being patient and understanding but please do yourself a favor and do not use this service. A complete joke

We contacted AllState for a tow truck and they dispatched Magic Towing to come out in an hour according to their tracking app.While showing up 45 minutes past the estimated time of arrival, our driver was sure to reach out to us a few minutes past the ETA to confirm the pick-up and again when he was close. We called the office once for an update and was able to reach someone.The driver, whose name we did not get, was very nice upon arrival and was very helpful in getting our vehicle to the dealership that we selected.Its unfortunate that this company receives so many bad reviews from HopCat patrons that decide to park at the neighboring McDonalds despite the signage asking them not to.

I love that the only positive reviews are from 3 weeks ago! Like its not super obvious that they paid some people to come on and try and tilt the scale to try and make them look better! My handicap accessible van with a ramp was towed Thursday night. I was absolutely stranded as I cannot get into other vehicles. I have now contacted the McDonald’s Corporation, the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General of Michigan, the Americans with Disabilities Act local offices, and local news stations. I got a message from channel 7 action news that they are sending it onto their news desk. Yes, I parked at the McDonald’s and went to a restaurant nearby. There is not enough accessible handicap parking in large cities. There were no tow-away signs on the handicapped spot. If I was wrong to do so, that is fine. My issue is the bigger scheme that is going on with this particular McDonald’s and breakthrough towing. I have heard not only from reading copious reviews online, but also from one of the tow truck drivers himself, that these two companies are in on a financial scheme together. This must be stopped.

While on a business trip last year I stopped at the now infamous McDonalds where after 11 minutes inside, I walk out to find my rental had been towed. I hope they all rot in jail where they belong. Literally walked in/out Subway in 10 minutes in an area that clearly had to signage regarding towing, no parking, etc....I’ve seen people park in this area for years because it’s a public parking area for a strip mall. As I’m walking out the guy had already made it behind me and was dripping the tow bed. If it hadn’t been for a lady in a Home Health transport bus blocking him in I’d have been towed before I got out.Called the police and because they hadn’t touched my vehicle I wasn’t able to make a report. Never seen anything like this before! And hello Google review why do I have to give them 1 star?!

This place is a complete scam. I take fully responsibility for parking incorrectly. I read the sign wrong after getting off a long nursing shift at the hospital. I was told on the phone that they accept cards and cash. I arrived, no one was there even though I was told someone would be there. Once someone arrived, I was told it was cash only. I retrieved the cash and was then told I owed more because I did not have a copy of my insurance and registration on me because shocker....those documents were in my car, which had been towed. DUH. I asked the owner if he had his own insurance and registration on his person at that moment and he said no. Who in the world constantly carries their insurance and registration in their pocket? He was just pocketing some extra cash at my expense. Disgusting. Especially since he rolled up in a fancy car. I will see you in court per the multiple laws you have broken. Yeah, I come from a family of lawyers :)

This is one of the most horrible towing companies ever, I believe they are scam artist and need to be SHUT DOWN. I needed towing services, so I called Verizon which covered more mileage than my AAA. When they dispatched it to Breakthrough Towing, the driver called me and stated that he could not find my location which I was in the parking lot of a very well none store. I would assumed the driver had GPS, but I had to explain turn by turn direction so he could find my location. Once driver loaded my car on the flat bed, he was suppose to deliver it directly to my home, but he called and stated he had to go service another person and will deliver my car when he finish the other job. I told him that was unprofessional and that my insurance is paying him by the mileage, so he needs complete my towing service first and not attend to someone else request while my car in on the flat bed. He said it was out of his hands and his boss told him he needed to go to service another person or he would be fired. I call the company and talked with the sons owner who sounded like and acted like he was 12. I could not believe this was happening, especially now that the driver had my car and I didnt know where it was and where he was taking it. Long story short, my car ended up at my house 2 hours later. People should not be treated like this nor taken advantage of. Treat people like you would want them to treat you. Stop ripping people off.

TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS!!!! They had my car towed for illegally parking at a store parking lot. I was unaware but still willing to pay my dues. I arrived to my car before it was completely placed on the truck. He then told me $375.00 CASH! It was approx. 11:00 pm. I advised the guy I dont carry cash around like that. He offered to take me to an ATM. I told him I had a credit card but $375 was entirely too high! He told me I could come to the office and maybe I could negotiate with the owner. When I arrived the first thing the guy asked was why he didnt get my girlfriends Cadallac! (Im assuming more money). I advised that this was highway robbery and they shouldnt be allowed to get away with this. He knocked off $100.00 and said that was it. I paid with my credit card. Not feeling good about being hijacked I contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint. I then called the tow company to speak with John the owner. The guy that answered the phone quoted me $75.00 & approx. $4.00 per mile. I asked about special night rates and he told me there were no special rates for night. John wasnt available so I called back about 45mins later. The same guy answered the phone and then told me John was in a meeting and he didnt know how long he would be. This company is corrupt and unprofessional. They were looking at videos behind the glass and not acting in a professional way at all. I am reporting this company to the BBB.

Despicable. My 87 year old grandmother went to McDonald’s on Woodward in Midtown 12/19 (same one in the video) and came out to her car being gone. She asked the store to call the police thinking it had been stolen only to find out these crooks took it . We called the company whom stated she had to pay 420 to get it back. If you have been a victim of this company I suggest you call McDonald’s corporate, BBC, Attorney General, News, and truth2power whom is ahead of the class action lawsuit. These guys were awesome I had a flat tire and they helped me fix it. They did it out of the kindness of their hearts. They have been on the news in Michigan.By LAW if the vehicle is on the tow truck and you come outside and confront the tow truck driver they are supposed to let your vehicle off the tow truck. Also you can report them to the police as well as the secretary of state, if you have been a victim their is also a lawsuit against this company. Remember to record during the process of this issue taking place. Also call AAA because they are using their name. Also look for ppl just sitting in their vehicles look for spotters stand around for a few min dont be so quick to be in a rush to go in. keep store receipts take pictures of the areaAnd the surrounding area in which your vehicle was parked and removed from. Even when you are going in to get your vehicle back record.Download a call recorder app in Michigan it is a one party consent state you can record a call with out letting the other party know as long as your not eavse dropping on a conversation.

I was told someone would be coming to get me into my vehicle due to me being locked out in 30 mins. I waited for 2 hours and kept calling during this time frame to see what was going on, every time I kept getting the same response that someone was on the way, then they just stopped answering the phone. I was downtown at the river walk, I placed the call to them at 9pm right when it was about to get dark, I also had my one year old daughter with me and I’m a female. I wasted 2 hours waiting for help that never showed up. I ended up calling a different towing company and had to wait an additional 20 mins. This tow company is terrible and evil to treat someone like this. Magic Towing provided excellent customer service and was very quick! I wish I would’ve found them and called them in the first place

I would rather have the Devil himself tow my car than Breakthrough Towing. I still have nightmares about my experience three years ago thanks to these scoundrels. I see a psychiatrist every two weeks and I take medication for anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, and PTSD thanks to these badboys.

This is very predatory towing service. Avoid him at all costs. Even if you have to sit on the side of the road for hours. Believe me when I say you do not want this problem. If you are illegally towed, check the statutes because they are breaking many of them. Get an attorney and take it as far as you have to.

This towing company is not legit! I was towed from the McDonalds parking lot off of woodward for illegally parking in the parking lot. I did not see the one sign they had posted up. Upon calling them i had to wait until the following morning to pick up my car because it was too late in the evening. Finding their building was difficult and honestly a bit scary. I had to pay them $395.00 in CASH to get my car back. They refused to take debit or credit cards. This is more than half of a paycheck for me 😔. I then had to follow them to a seperate lot where my car was being held. It was not a pleasant experience at all! They need to be shut down!!!

Predators and scammers. They put up a brand new company sign where they towed my car and said it was my fault for not seeing it. It was a rainy day, everything was muddy (including the other signs posted nearby), but their sign was brand new and spotless.My car was parked for LESS THAN 1 hour and they took it. They are demanding $375 + $20 extra in cash only because theyre closed for the night, even though they gave me their card which says accepting all credit cards and open 24/7.I called their number and they started talking trash to me. Totally unprofessional. I spoke with someone who claimed to be the manager and told me hes only 19, has a family to support, and is lucky someone else didnt tow me for $900. Yeah, right. He then told me dont call and talk to his bosses because theyre not so lenient. ???

The guy is the owner I guess hes the son. Ok you can say son of a b*** he is so rude. He towed my car because DTE needed to dig a hole. They said they couldve came back another day. I called and asked if he had my car he said call back and hung up. Then I called he had me on hold for 1 hour after giving him the description then said we have it. Now my car was towed 1 hour ago. I came there and he said yeah I was the one that towed this car. Now when I called you couldnt remember you towed it? the only red car within one hour? but now you remember. He told me he doesnt have all day pay $330 and it was state fees added which is not true. The state does not add fees with this company. He said if I didnt hurry up he will close the computer down and make me pay an additional fee for the next day. I got my car and I took the to small claims court and got all my money. $55 to start the sue and you can sue and get that back with the money you paid the company. So I got the last laugh bum a**

I was towed from downtown to Berkley. Its never fun needing a tow at 1AM, but this a a relatively pleasant experience. I would highly recommend.

I was informed that the price I was going to have to pay to retrieve my car was to be $450 in cash on the phone.When I arrived after 15 minutes of waiting in a freezing cold lobby while I could hear a movie going on in the back room, I was informed the cost for my car would be $470. I refuted saying that the cost should be $450 as stated over the phone.The attendant walked away and I heard nothing for 10-15 more minutes. when I knocked again, I was informed that we were waiting on the owner to make the call and he hadnt called back.Due to freezing in the cold lobby and it being nearly midnight, I paid the $470.It then took another 15 minutes outside waiting for the tow truck.I have never had such poor service(no credit card payment allowable, slow employees, and unethical business practice in my book)
