Not to be totally indelicate but the service l’ve received from Greater Expressions, on Woodward & Mack in Detroit, has been horrible. The staff is wonderful and polite but the service is bad. I been getting a partial since March, 2021 and every time they send it to be corrected at their lab it comes back very wrong. I’ve been keeping my cool but I don’t suggest anyone coming to this location for help.

The energy was great! Everyone was nice! I think they should work on taking everyone’s temperature right away when they come in the door like the hospitals do, they took mines after I have filled out all the paper work, you can’t trust people coming in or what not, other than that it’s a A for me!

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. I’ve been three times in the last year and was always met with kindness and patience. And beyond good vibes, they’ve always done great work that is accepted by my insurance. Top notch service from Dr. Van ⭐️

Scheduled a teeth cleaning months in advance. When I arrived, they told me all new patients need a comprehensive check up that includes a complete set of x-rays beyond bite wing. Since my insurance didnt cover, I needed to pay the $60 cost. I was told this was standard practice for all Great Expressions. However, a family member had just been to another Great Expressions Detroit location as a new patient and did not have to take a comprehensive x-ray. I was given the option to send x-rays from my prior dentist, however they would not see me without confirmation the office would send it. I decided to not do the cleaning as patient trust was being eroded.The office is also charging a COVID fee that insurance does not cover. These are hard times and we are all having to do extra things to keep each other healthy. To pass the cost on to the patient just does not seem right to me.

I had such a great experience here. I never expected going to the dentist to be so simple and relaxing. The receptionist and dentists were all amazing. They played a relaxing video during my filling procedure (there is a monitor that sits over the patient chair). They also explained exactly what was going on with the health of my teeth, while showing me vivid pictures. They also had great attitudes and were exceptionally friendly and approachable. What I loved most is that they made me aware of all out of pocket costs id have to pay BEFORE the procedure so i could make an informed decision about next steps; this is something all medical facilities should do, but they dont! Ive been surprised with $600 bills in the past after procedures were completed. Great Expressions respects their patients and I have already recommended them to others in my personal life. I am happy to have finally found a reliable dentist.

Awesome Staff. I just moved to Detroit and had an emergency and just walked into the center and I was seated within a few minutes and my needs were met within 24 hours after my initial consultation. Great Staff and Dentists (I recommend Dr. Roth) hes really caring and amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Everyone here is great! They helped hold my one-year-old while I was in the chair, they even made him a balloon animal out of a latex glove. They addressed my concerns with my teeth and it was a great first visit to our new dentist! I look forward to many more years of returning to the office.

Ive never experienced such horrible customer service in any dental/medical/health setting. My routine cleaning appointment in June was cancelled by Great Expressions and I had to leave multiple messages to have someone reschedule my appointment that was then scheduled for October. Staff once again cancelled the rescheduled appointment and once again Ive left multiple messages requesting a call back to reschedule and Ive yet to hear back.

I have to say Ive been a dental assistant over 20 years and this is by far the best co-workers Ive ever worked with. It was divine intervention that I was so blessed to work with them. Im so proud of our Dr. Shamo, his integrity and skills are seriously out of this world. Im proud to be a member of this team. Yahweh is awesome and provided a great place for me to work with people I would be honoured to call family.

Dr. Shamo is the best! He corrected mistakes made my my previous dentist, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Wonderful professional and friendly staff. I won’t let friends and family go to any other dentist!

I couldnt be more thankful for Dr. Shamo, Rebecca, and the whole staff at Great Expressions. It had been years since I had been to a dentist, due to fear and a childhood trauma, and I was put at ease immediately. Everything was explained, no unnecessary procedures were suggested, and I received excellent care. If anyone needs a good, honest, trustworthy, and clean dental office, I cant imagine youll find any better than Great Expressions Midtown.

I really love everyone here. My husband and i have been coming here for a few years. Every one from the front deck to the dentist are great! They are all happy and courteous so I tell everyone this is the place to go for all your dental needs.

Had an excellent experience. Most people are very nervous almost scared going to the dentist, myself included. All the girls up front are great with people and great social skills im terrible with names but think it was Michelle and Sierra. I was made me feel very comfortable and ensured me Id be in good hands. Left office pain free. The best experience. No pain what so ever not even when they used the needle to numb me up. I was so scared but I knew I needed to see the dentist. I had the worst experience anyone could ever imagine at the previous dentist. Dr. Basam shamo was a million times better. Thanks to him I am no longer terrified of the dentist. And I mean I was terrified. I wasnt asked to write a review, but I always look up reviews before I do anything. So I just wanted to write a real review to let whoever sees this they can relax. This is a really good place to go for dental care. Take it from me.

Wow! I had been going to my previous dentist for years and thought I would try something closer to home and I am stunned. The service was fast, gentle, friendly, PAINLESS, and top notch quality work! I have had several fillings in my life and they always end up jagged for months and leaving gaps between my teeth causing me to get food stuck between my teeth and having to carry dental floss everywhere I go. It’s not attractive. After Doctor Shamo got done replacing the filling it was smooth as glass and the perfect amount of space between the teeth. I think I have found a dentist for life.

Great Expressions is conveniently located in Midtown which is excellent for people who dont want to drive when they live in Detroit. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgable. I came in for an evaluation, they let me know what needed to be done and the best options available for whitening since my wedding was coming up. Dr. Shamo was honest with me and didnt try to sell me a whitening option I couldnt afford that would have ended up being a bad choice since my teeth were sensitive. Him and his staff gave me lots of advice and answered all my questions. I am looking forward to going back!

The dental hygienist were really nice. Everyone was super nice and patient. The were fast, and were very easy when helping me. It was great there.

Although Ive never had a cavity before, and Dr. Shamo found four in one trip, I was still put at ease throughout my entire trip. Everyone from reception to the assistant to the assistants assistant to the dentist was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. They explained every cost and every move to me before it happened.

I had a 1 pm appointment as a new patient and when I got there 15 minutes early, the office was closed. We had to wait for them to finish their lunch before we could enter the building. Thats unacceptable. Thank God Idid my new patient paperwork before I got there. They had the wrong billing information on treatment plan so i had to pay for something I was not expecting to pay for. I dont like that I have to come back to get a deep cleaning or a simple filling. Im not used to this type of service. It was not a good first impression for a company called great expressions.

There is no waiting time when I arrive for my office visit, and the staff are excellent. Two thumbs up😀

When I got there I was the only brown person in the office in the only one asked to pre-pay before service was rendered. I’d been a great expressions customer for years and this never has happened nor have they ever had a problem with any of my payments. I just paid it, sometimes you grow tired of trying to be treated fairly. On a positive note the doctor was good and friendly. But this experience has me looking for a smaller dentist. I need lots of work and would rather go where I’m respected. Truth the movie is an email I’m using for a short film project I have coming up and couldn’t switch accounts on my phone lol. But this is a real review from an authentic person!

Was a relatively painless procedure and fast to. The staff was most helpful and dr shamo followed up with me as well. And offered solutions as to what i should do concerning my overall dental health. My prior dentist didnt help as much. I will indeed be returning to his care as his is a professional office most helpful & needed.

Great dental practice. They offer fluoride ($25) and advanced cancer screening ($60 something) that are not covered by insurance. . I been reading about both on pub med and cannot find evidence that both are needed every 6 month for otherwise healthy adults with no risk factors for caries (dry mouth) or oral cancer (smoking, dipping) like myself. Will most likely discuss the need for both on my next visit to save some money.I recommend this office to Everyone.Kunil Raval

This is a great dental office! The staff is extremely kind, patient, and empathetic unobody makes you feel bad about not flossing -LOL :) The dentist is very thorough -also kind and patient. Its basically a very good group of people: they have solutions for things that other dental offices Ive been to did not, they recommend great products, and theyre really in the best interest of their patients. They also have a package you can sign up for to get a type of insurance/discount, so youre not paying out of pocket if your insurance doesnt cover it -they have their own plan. Obviously, look into it yourself and see if its something that would be good for you; but I highly recommend it to anyone who has more than one member of their family going there. I believe its called something like, a smile plan -but so far, that has worked well for me and my husband. We both go there and we were both very happy with the service, and the check ups are quick and painless (even if you havent been to a dentist in 10 years!), and Im thrilled to have found them so conveniently located close to where I live! But for everyone: its a very convenient location and there is parking available in back, as well as on Woodward. I recommend killing two birds with one stone, and checking out the new Whole Foods (right behind it), as well.Basically Id say its worth checking out, my family has only had the best experiences with them.

My cleaning and filling replacements went smoothly. Staff and Dr. Grey were pleasant and answered my questions. The Dental Hygenist took the time to explain an oral B electric toothbrush and demonstrated how to use it more effeciently. The office manager asked how my visit was and offered the financing program. Definately a better experience than I have had at other dentists.

I love this place. The GEDC on Woodward Ave is the best dental office Ive been to thus far (and Ive been to quite a few). The kindness literally begins at the front desk. The ladies made sure I knew exactly what I needed to make my appointment go smoothly. My appointment was at 11:20, I arrived 30 mins early and they were able to start on my teeth right away. I had a root canal—sounds painful right? Not at all. That was the most painless, pleasant root canal Ive had. The Dr. and the DA both made sure I knew what was going on pre-op, during, and post op. And I was able to schedule my next appointment right away. 5 stars for sure.
