We Loved this place very Friendly and helpful staff and front desk. The beach was very clean. Room was nicely updated . Multiple BBQ grills on site and the people staying there had some class it was not a party central it was great for family vacation. We felt safe letting our kids swim at the pool unaccompanied. Beautiful views. Spend the money you wont regret it. Special thanks to Alan at the beach ⛱ he does a very good job getting you set up with whatever you need.

My mom, her friend, and I came down to Destin for the first time to specifically check out this resort as a potential wedding venue. I must say we were very impressed! We absolutely loved the view of the gulf from the east side and the condo was so nice too! We enjoyed our time here and decided to even book my wedding here! So excited to go back next year!

First of all, the customer service was excellent. Even though I could tell the building was a little older than some of the places Ive stayed, the owners did some great upgrades. Unit #704 in the East Tower is really nice! Whoever updated it had good vision in the design and took advantage of the space. We all had room to spread out, and the beach was never crowded. I didnt want to leave. Plus it was so easy getting to the Super Target, Winn Dixie, and several restaurants without having to get caught up in traffic. Perfect for us!

I liked everything about that place, just next to the beach and nice people working there. The rent price is so good and our view was so beautiful and relaxing.but I have to say our unit was super dirty when we got there! It seems they just left a few clean towel and soap and forgot to clean up the place. We had black mold in the fridge and bath curtain and it was a piece of human nail on toilet seat! And some dirty spot and disgusting stain on love seats and other furniture and rugs.We cleaned it up before even sit down to take some rest after very long drive to Destin. We had to drive to Walmart to buy some cleaning stuff and bathroom curtain and that was so tiering.I hope the management take this serious and do something about it.

We stayed in 418 it was on the corner which we liked we used the stairs the entire time and didn’t have to go thru the main lobby and wait for the elevator they should think about putting in elevators on each end. The condo was clean and we loved everything about it the view was amazing. Pool area was clean water was warm hottub was nice and plenty of seating. There are plenty of grills (charcoal) to use under a pavilion with tables. The beach was really nice don’t forget your keycard you need it to access the beach and to leave. Alan the guide on the beach was amazing friendly and very helpful made beach time better. Umbrellas chairs kayaks paddle boards are available to use on beach. The water was clear the fish like to swim around and up your legs which was pretty neat. Overall the only complaint was checkin there wasn’t a soul around and we had to wait 45 minutes for another guest checking in with a code to get our keys they were all in a meeting which they should have at least one person there. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely would stay here again when we visit Destin. If you get and chance harbor walk Destin snorkel sunset dolphin cruise is definitely worth it. We can’t wait to come back.

Very spacious condo unit with a beautiful view, easy access to beach.

We arrived today for a week stay. Very impressed so far.

Weve been visiting The Islander since the year they first opened. We have so many memories from dozens of summer vacations. All through the 1980s and 1990s we were here two or three times per year.I still think its a good value, although some units are cleaner than others.

2nd time staying here, had a great time. Right on the beach, close to good food. Cant beat this place for a stay in America vacation. 2 thumbs up for The Islander.👍👍

Stayed here for a week. 1st night I noticed my 2 step sons sinuses messed up right away. 3rd night my sons sinuses started messing up. I go get them med for allergies. I started smelling mold in the bathroom. 5th night I notice mold going across the ceiling. I go to the front desk. Told maintenence would show up in the morning. We talked to the maintenance theyre gonna spray bleach to kill it. Bleach mixed with mold makes pneumonia. We told them to not do that that well all be sick bad. We stayed out of the room as much as we could and left the next morning. If I knew how to post pics I would.Maggie at the front desk was amazing. Very helpful. Room was clean and access to the beach was amazing.

This place is amazing, we will MOST definately come back here to visit this beautiful beach! The condo was so beautiful, has everything you may need to cook in kitchen, which honestly is a much better option than going to these over rated expensive restaraunts that have a 2-3 hr wait.But this resort and the beach are worth the trip. Very accomodating place. They have convenient shopping carts and luggage carts that make unloading easy. Theres an elevator in the lobby, 2 pools. Overall very happy with this experience. The price for the location and proximity to the beach to me seemed very reasonable and accesible.You also have included two seats on the beach with umbrella per room.Wifi included, TVs come with Roku and had access to netflix.Theres other apps on Roku but we didnt try them since we out enjoying the beach and pool 😎.Overall nice experience !

Really nice condos, Im not a big fan of elevator on end of building near office but great Veiw kitchen had absolutely everything you need, washer and dryers a big plus even beach toys for the kiddo.

We had a fantastic stay. A few things were a bit dirty, but cleaned up quickly. Quick walk to the beach. Nice gated parking lot.

We selected this ‘family’ resort based on reviews. This place is NOT what they represent themselves fo be. That state they are non-smoking; we called many times to inform them of other patrons smoking weed and they ‘told’ us they would take care of but never did. I spoke to a women at the front desk in the morning, the pleasant lady with the emerald green fingernails, & Alexa- I was assured the managers- either Cindy or Aubrey would contact us to address our concerns and many voicemails went unanswered & calls not returned. The cigarette smoke was just as bad. We also could also not use our balcony because of the smell or others being up until 1 in the morning, blasting music and being so loud my child couldn’t sleep. We left early and they refused to give us a refund even though they misrepresented how the resort was. We will never return and I suggest you never go as well.

A few of the amenities are good beach location is great but if you want chairs or an umbrella its 40 bucks a day you are better off buying from a store first day of vacation and just leaving them behind if you are flying, the cave/bar pool is the best part of the resort alot of this resort is dated like its in the middle of a renovation the main lobby is super nice with bars gift shop and restaurant the heated pool is in need of repairs, I had 3 rooms and in a weeks time we never had maid service and being on the 2nd floor no elevator and maids constantly blocking the stairs and unfortunately we had teenagers below us constantly smoking weed outside right in front of employees and families, this place has the potential to be great not there yet, Not sure if Ill stay here again unless some changes are made!

Great place to stay at! Im second generation snow bird cuz my parents came here. All is great except for Internet. Dont expect great connections. Also do not get a room ending with 09, 10, 11, 12 cuz you will be close to next door, East Jetty. The noise they make is beyond crazy!! All the staff is great except for one old lady with white hair. Dont let her bother you. When she is there I wait til next time to ask for help or questions. Dont bother with her. Helene and Megan are great to work with. Well worth coming here as beach is so close by for walking and is wonderful.

This place was very comfortable with a great view in the master bedroom of the ocean and beach. It had really slow elevators. Thats the reason I gave a 4 stars. Otherwise it was amazing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place in Destin. There were also TVs in both bedrooms and in the main room. That is a plus and when you get sick on vacation like I did the bathroom in the master bedroom was a nice touch. Lol! Great place, go stay there, you will like it too!

We have been here 22 years in a row. Always beautiful. They are 60 odd us or so that come every year.

Destin has been my familys go to beach for decades. This is the first time at the Islander - loved it! We normally stay at more costly places... never again! Beautiful rooms, great aminitys, pools are awsome. Kind helpful staff made it very homey. We will be back!

This is a nice, affordable place to stay. The East wing looks to the ocean but the West wing doesnt. Very nice staff. Just wish they would keep the entrance gate to the parking lot closed like a gated complex should.

The staff have been so nice and helpful. The walk to the beach is not far at all. The pools are nice. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I love that they have a laundry room area. Having books and dvds available to use was a really nice touch.

The Islander is a condominium complex right on Holiday Isle in Destin. It is very family friendly, clean with beautifully decorated units and wonderful views. There is a gulf view or an East Pass/ sunset view (my favorite). The location is ideal for getting around Destin. My recommendation is to rent a platinum unit on a higher floor.

Ill start with WOW!!You 100%want this spot!The view in 612 is Absolutley amazing!That particular condo has everything!So clean,updated,just gorgeous! The staff at islander are friendly helpful and welcoming.This place is not overcrowded like the ones down the beach,plus free beach set up and dolphins down near the jetty!Watching boats and sunsets has been my new peaceful therapy!Great job to islander and the owners of 612 its so perfect!And a shout out to Wayne Ledbetter,what a very asset to this resort.You can feel safe knowing he is there and is keen,keeps an eye on everything!

Had a great stay. Condo was clean, a/c was ice cold and the amenities were excellent. Would definitely go again.

We were a walk in and even then the way we were treated was great. We were able to get an ocean view room right away. The lady up front was AWESOME, she had long blonde/brown hair. She was sweet and had us in a room in no time. It was clean and had everything we needed. I was so happy we came across this place. I highly recommend it to everyone! It was non smoking (which I loved since I have kids) so the rooms didnt smell. The view was amazing. We even had an umbrella and two chairs provided to us at the beach, (Alan was amazing and helped us move our cooler and kids to a chair, THANK YOU ALAN)! We had coupons with amazing deals provided to us. I loved our stay and the service we received. Access to the beach and pool were fairly easy along with the parking lot and they even provide cars to bring up and down your things. Thank you!

Hannah at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful when I needed assistance late one evening over the phone. Her great attitude is something I wish everyone could have. She was very cooperative and understanding when difficulties occurred in a call from party to party and then with no hesitation she patched me back through after transfer issues, I was then able to successfully reach the person I was seeking.

Great place to stay

Stayed at The Islander from July 10th - July 15th, 2020. Upon arrival the room was nice, recently updated. Short walk to the beach and the pool - awesome beach staff Alan helped us get our beach chairs daily! The condo had everything we needed for a week stay. The only reason its not 5 stars is because the room was a little dirty upon arrival, kitchen utensils needed to be washed again before use. Will be back, but next time will bring more cleaning supplies from home so dont have to buy them at the Winn-Dixie. Otherwise - PERFECT resort for friends or families. We definitely enjoyed our stay and miss it already! See you again soon Destin!!

We love the property, staff, and the amenities. We rented a Plantinum status unit 413. With heated pool for the kids, newly renovated unit with new amenities, our trip is so much fun. We were surprised the laundry room has board games, and books to occupy the kids too if needed. Their # is on my speed dial now. My go to place when I come back in 6 months. Cheers

We rented a 2-bedroom 2-bath condo. I have no complaints. The rooms were all spacious. Everything was clean. The condominium was decorated very nicely. There are two separate swimming pools and both have hot tubs as well. The building is not directly on the beach. However it is only a 2 minute walk from the lobby area to the beach.

Great, just a slightly rowdy crowd around pool area some nights.

Stayed in Rm 215. It was recently updated, and clean. The walk to the beach wasnt bad. About 3 mins. Staff was friendly. We will stay there again

BEWARE!!!!!! I was scheduled for arrival on Sunday and received a phone call from the front desk at 5pm Saturday cancelling my reservation because my unit was down for maintenance!! The only 2 options they gave me were to be put in a unit for the first 2 days in one unit and the last 2 days in another unit or here are the names of some other condos we recommend! Thanks for that because i want to move mid vacation! Won’t book with this resort again!

Unit 409 is excellent. I love the Islander, the access to the beach is wonderful. I am looking forward to my next stay in November.

We had a great stay. The condos are clean, the staff is super accommodating and knowledgeable. I love the gated community so I always felt safe. We will be back!

This place is great! I highly recommend staying here when visiting Destin. Our balcony was overlooking the ocean and each morning there was a pod of dolphins that we could see playing in ocean. Such a beautiful and tranquil place. Cant wait to go back!

Had a great long weekend here. The front desk staff was super friendly and check-in was a breeze.The unit we stayed in (#612) was in the western half of the building and had a wonderful view of the bay and pool. It had been recently updated with nice DWR style furniture, plank flooring and a modern color scheme.The amenities were great with a couple pools, beach chairs/umbrellas, and shopping carts to carry your belongings.

My family booked a last minute condo here and we loved it. Starting from the ease of booking the condo to the condo itself everything was wonderful. Easy beach access clean pools and the location is fabulous. We will be staying again!

The rooms, access to the beach and the staff are decent. The lodgers staying on the first floor made it rough for the rest of us staying there. They blast their music, smash their beer bottles on the walk to the beach, have disregard for those living next door.

Love the Islander and the staff. Wonderful family place to stay and havefun. We had four condos. Ours was a little worn, bedspreads were old, refrigerator and freezer leaked. Shower curtain was just a liner. Could usean update. New door leading to deck was nice and quiet.The rest of the family had very nice rooms.

The one thing that is the most disappointing is that there obviously is not a thorough check to make sure that EVERYTHING is in working order before your guests arrive. This is unit #309. The prior guest may not have even turned on the TV, but when we tried to; however, it did not work, it had no signal. Melissa(?) tried to figure it out, to no avail. This was about 3:30 pm on Friday, 18 August 2017. We were later told there would be no one to check on it until the following day. The next day, no one came…until we were finally told between 5-7 pm (Saturday night). RIGHT when we would all be getting ready(party of 6) and heading to a reserved dinner for our 40th Anniversary. NOT happy at all. Thankfully, the cable tech was there at 6:15pm and completed by 6:45 pm. The unit needed a whole new cable box. HAD your management team checked the unit prior to a guest coming in, they would have known the box was bad and had it replaced and ready for the guests. I do not care what other guest may want, this is what we wanted, to enjoy watching our nightly shows and the morning news programs. UNACCEPTABLE to say the least. Secondly, you could clean the living furniture and the seats of the dining room chairs from time to time, they have numerous spots and they smelled horrible. AND the ceiling was peeling in the middle bath, and in the shower of the master bath...certainly not acceptable for the costs of these condos. However; Alan, on the beach, was wonderful. Very attentive and friendly; your best asset for sure!

Great place. We have stayed here many times. We stayed in 202 this time and actually left early because the bed was so horrible we couldnt handle the bed another night.

I vacationed at the islander this past week. This was my familys 3rd year using the Islander. We got some attitude when we asked if we could get into our room early. They acted irritated when we asked them any questions. We used unit703 and the day before we left we saw a cockroach in the pantry. The area is beautiful, but we will be finding somewhere else to stay in the area next time

Been here now four times and have yet to be disappointed!! Great location, great room, and right on the beach! Well be back next year as planned!!

What a great beach vacation! From check-in to check-out, The Islander was not only convienent, but well maintained and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Unit #612. The owner was easy to work with and the condo itself was recently updated with a modern, beachy feel. With a full kitchen, dining area and family room, your entire family can feel at home. The unit overlooks one of The Islanders pools and the nearby beach. Great vacation whether its a weekend away or a full week stay!

Front desk people are just rude! Why is it so hard to get 3 bath towels that are missing from our room? 24 hours after we reported it and still nothing. We have stayed here 5 or 6 times and never had this problem.

We have stayed in this condo rental building several times but this unit 506 is very outdated.

The condo was nice, clean, and comfortable. The view was great on 6th floor but if you want a view of the golf stay on the East side not the West. Staying on the West side we got a front row seat of the fireworks that the Emerald Grande puts on every Thursdsay. The beach service is nice but bring your own beach chairs and umbrella if you plan to be there AFTER 5PM. We stayed for 8 days, so we thought they would supply toilet paper and trash bags, but they do not, so make sure you supply those yourselves!! Overall, it was a great stay and we will probably stay again next year.

This review is in respect to unit #703. We stayed from 5 February 2018 to the 17 March 2018. The location of the Islander is excellent with the beach and the Gulf of Mexico within 200 metres or so from the building. The staff were very curtiuos and helpful when we had any questions or concerns.The biggest let down was the unit itself. It is very dated and the cleanliness was not up to anyones standard. There has been no effort to update the decor, lighten up the colour of paint and to streamline the size of the furniture. There is a major problem with bugs. Everyone is fond of using the euphemistic term Palmetto Bug for what is the American Cockroach.We on average were finding one or two per day. When mentioned to the staff they would make a cursory attempt at spraying which would last for a day or so.Anyone who investigates why there are cockroaches knows they are present because of excess moisture and dirty surroundings. These bugs seem to be very prevelant on the seventh floor and are have been found in units on either side of #703.This experience with the presence of cockroaches made the vacation very stressful and such has made us decide not to come back. Until something is done about the bugs this unit will not be recommended to friends.You have to spend money to make money. Its time to step up to the plate.
