Tried to go today to get a fill. Made an appt and was there 10 min before my appointment. There was about 20 people in there and I was told it was gonna be a long wait. I just wanted a fill. You say make an appointment but whats the point If I am gonna wait over an hour? I have been going here and have liked it.but will not be coming here anymore.

Thr owner did a really good job on my nails. My only suggestion is branch out more with what you can do and offer.

First time here. I got my nails done and I love how they look! Finally a place that can do good French! I forgot to ask her name but the lady who was doing my nails truly cares about what she is doing. She noticed that one of the tips was crooked and she fixed it immediately, which is awesome. She was taking care of each nail and was having little conversation with me! Thank you for this amazing experience, I will be back for sure!!

Went to Hawaii nails around 11am. Tina was very pleasant from jump! She informed me should could start my nails but had a client coming at a certain time, to where she would need to attend to her then finish mine. Since I had nothing else to do I agreed! And I am so glad I did! She did a wonderful job on my ombré nails!! I’m new to Des Moines and after trying three other salons, this is by far my favorite and will be my go to spot!!

I love Hawaii Nails! Tina does an incredible job, she listens to what you want or don’t want and then exceeds your expectations.

Nice price and really great pedicures

I think her name is Tina, she sits right by the front door, she is the sweetest. I can tell this place likes to do right by their customers. I had to wait a little bit but that was expected because it was Friday near closing time and I was a walk in. I didnt complain but not only did she do an amazing job but she took a little bit off the price for my troubles when it wasnt their fault at all. I was quiet but she made the effort to talk to me and ask questions. Ive been to places where the polish wouldnt quite go on there right or fuzzies accidentally were on there and they would try to cover it up rather than fix it, not Tina. She fixed it even though she was tight for time with other appointments. I really respect her for that, some places will rush you out of there with your nails looking crazy talking about come back and we will fix it; aint nobody got time for that. I dont live in Des Moines but whenever I am in town this will definitely be my go to place.

Just a few days after my apt my nails polish started chipping off

My daughter, mom & I havent been there in a while and the owners still remember us in our masks and all lol. They are very pleasant and nice to talk to. Shop is always clean as usual.

I normally stick pretty close to home with my nails, but I had an event downtown and some time to kill, so I ended up at Hawaii Nails. I was in the mood to experiment and the nail technician was very accommodating. She carried out my vision perfectly and I couldnt be happier! Thanks!

My favorite place for pedicures! Love the massage chairs you sit in during the pedicure! Detail oriented staff, great service, very relaxing!! Cant wait to go back!! They have done a great job adapting to social distancing requirements and still delivering a great experience!

I love going here. I think theyre all super nice and professional. I get my eyebrows done here and from the very beginning she did great without me having to tell her how I wanted them. Everytime I get my toes or nails done I never feel rushed and they do such a great job.

Overall I think this place is decent. They do nails very well, and I am usually quite happy with how they look. However, they don’t provide efficient service when it comes to everything but the nails. If they are busy and clearly have hours of sessions, and you call to come in, they’ll tell you they’re not busy to get more customers, to get more money. They’ll often wrap your nails in the tin foil to remove dip (what I usually do) and then forget about you for an hour. During the process of getting your nails done, in my case getting a dip manicure, it’s very drying. Using the alcohol and getting dust all over my fingers, makes my fingers look not very appealing. When you’re done getting your nails done, they send to to wash your hands and immediately send you to the counter to pay. No lotion to moisturize, no cuticle oil to help strengthen your fingers from all the chemicals it just suffered through. In my opinion, they do a great job on my nails, so I do go their when my other nail salon is too busy. But if you are picky about having everything done efficiently, this isn’t the place for you.

I have been coming here for years and they always do wonderful work. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I look forward to every visit. Thank you to Tina and her team!

First time here. Customer service was great, place was clean and nicely decorated. May did a FANTASTIC job with the dipping powder. Pic is from three days ago and they still look great. Price is competitive and so worth it. I will definitely be going back! Ill request May for my next manicure.

Were visiting from Florida and my wife and I dropped in for pedicures. We we surprised that we just had to wait 10 minutes or so. We both did the deluxe and were very happy with the result. The young ladies were both very pleasant and did a great job with everything (trimming nails, hot rock massage, etc). My wifes only comment was she couldnt get her lady to do the regular massage hard enough. Well definitely be back next trip.

First time here, I found all the staff to be very friendly. I only had to wait about 10 min. Tina did my full set and they are perfect. It was very busy but I did not feel like they rushed. Tina was very sweet and talkative. I get bored when they don’t make conversation or talk to other staff and not customers so I appreciated her very much. Very pleased and I will return.

I took my niece in for her birthday and her manicure was sub par . They looked nothing like the inspiration pictures we showed the nail tech. I too got a manicure and every single one of my nails has chipped in less 24 hours.

I feel like I am a high king when I go here. I would definitely recommend to any peasant who wants to feel like they are on top of the world when receive the best of service. One word can easily describe this place: prime.

Walked in for pedicure, staff was prompt and polite, I waited for a short period but at least my feet were soaking while I did. My favorite part was they really took care, attention and time to the foot massage part of the manicure! I would revisit and recommend.

The owners are so rude, especially the guy.. but the rest of the ladies that work there are great. If it werent for May ( one of the nail techs) I wouldnt return. That guy really needs a reality check and he needs to work on his customer service skills!!

My wife wen their a few weeks ago. Well dgr got the Pink and White nails. I love how happy my wife is with the end result. My wife still has her nails on and they still look GREAT!!!!THANK YOU FOR THE PINK AND WHITE NAILS.

The Staff are very nice, clean people. The salon is clean, they follow sanitation rules it looks like. And the end results of 2 pedicures, 1 manicure and one set of nails look great. Price is very fair. Well be back

Second time at this nail salon. First time, I was told they had time to do a manicure and pedicure. I waited 40 minutes before finally leaving. Decided to give it a second try, which was a bad idea. The guy who did my manicure recommended I do a powder manicure (I normally do shellac). He only filed my nails... did not cut the cuticles or do any type of hand massage. The color itself is fine, but theres powder stuck to my skin, cuticles and in my nail beds. I had a lady that did my pedicure. She burned my foot with scalding hot water and proceeded to laugh when I audibly screamed. During the massage part, the lid to the lotion was not secured and the lotion literally went everywhere. She only did one coat of polish and it looks terrible. The total cost was $65 which was definitely overpriced considering my service. Never going back!

People were nice- but my manicure was not well done. Chipped within a day. Also felt like the woman was continuously insulting my nails the whole time. Like yeah they look bad which is why I was there.

I enjoy getting pedicures done here. They are very thorough. You get hot rocks, massage, and the works for a great price.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Pedicure was a complete fail! Toe nails were not clipped nor did she clean under them. The massage of my legs was very weak, and she didnt even massage my feet, just my legs. I asked her during the massage to do it a little harder and she didnt know what I was talking about. Then the next night I was soaking in he tub for about 15 minutes and the nail polish had came off while in the tub. Seen the piece of polish floating around! WILL NOT be returning and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND!!! Dont waste your time.

I have been coming here off and on for a few years now. Cannot beat the service and cleanliness. I have gotten a regular manicure and it has stayed unchipped for 1 week and a half compared to some salons i have gotten a shellac and it chips in 2 days. I never feel as if they are rushing to get me out of there. They also have done me a favor a few times when I forgot my cash and let me come back to pay. Not many places will do that. As with any business some employees are going to be better than others. Not once have I seem them talking about their customers.

David is rude. I asked for my nails and toes to match. I gave him the number. When I was outside in the bright sun, I realized my nails were not the color I had asked for. I went in to ask him to change my toes (less work for him). He refused to admit that the colors were different. He sat down and said something under his breath in his language. I have been a regular customer for a long time. I will not go back. It was embarrassing how he treated me. No attempt at customer service. I guess he doesnt believe that the customer is always right.

They never have time to do your nails. Every time I come in they say can i come back tomorrow everytime, and when I do come back they say it again!! Its like I came to get my nails done today! And they are rude and unfriendly! One of them told me my face was oily when getting my eye brows done so rude! Never going back. I highly recommend the Wal-Mart nail salon in Windsor heights they treat you with respect and will actually take care of you no matter how many people are there to get their nails did. Also they are friendly and care for you, you will be satisfied.

Really rude staff! I got my eyebrows done ($7) Theres a minimum for charging on debit / credit, and I told them Ill pay the minimum price which is $10. The woman said no, but then said slyly, you need to bring cash with you whenever you come here. Woman I dont need to do anything. I offered to pay the minimum payment, its not my fault you werent satisfied. I was going to let it go, but I called them afterwards and a man picked up. I told him that I thought she was being rude for saying that and he said, okay bye!!Never going back again!

Good job but very high priced

Super Rude! Went in with the females of my family. Altogether we were 5 and we had appointments. I got a full set. A man did my nails. He did not cut my nails at all before the set. Or even take off old polish. He just say me down and glued on the plastic nail pieces. He made them crooked and uneven I had to ask him to fix them several times. He also didnt even paint half of my pinky until I pointed it out. Then he made me move my own things from the table to the drying stand. I was so scared I would mess up my nails and have to have him redo them. My aunt told me she saw a woman sweeping dirt under one of the pedicure chairs aswell. my other family members got manipedis and tghost ey had women who were very kind and helpful. Wish I had gotten a woman as well. The man was Very unprofessional!! We will not be returning. Cheap prices for cheap service. I think Ill stick with Emmas Nails in ankeny from now on! I learned my lesson.
