Very nice place with great staff. Was there for a rooftop event. Everything was clean and well organized. The staff working the event were very nice and helpful. The location itself was clean and welcoming. The drinks were nice and cold considering what a warm evening it was. The seating was plentiful and the misters were super helpful for cooling down the guests. The appetizers served were tasty, meatballs in a BBQ sauce, and various types of egg rolls with a vegetarian option as well. There was plenty of parking right across the street as well as street parking right out front, however our event was in the evening. If youre there during the day at peak business hours, then theres probably a lot of traffic, noise, and less parking. Overall, I would attend another event there or even hold one there myself. Great place with great views of the city.
Amazing facilities, loved working out here. Too pricey for the long run, but worth every penny. Miss my membership!
Expensive in absolute terms, but membership includes great facilities & classes.Highlights include a beautiful high-ceilinged weight room with lots of natural light, and an expansive raised patio for events. The layout inside is a *little* quirky.
We held a 7x24 conference there. Audio was good but Video displays were completely inadequate...a 50 TV on a stand. They need multiple TVs networked together. The food was very disappointing.
The DAC was clean, professional and pristine as always. The roof top was decorated gorgeously and the staff were helpful and very very friendly. Thank you DAC
Sound system needs much improvement. The food was below average soggy croutons.
Love this place, worth the money. Its a sanctuary for city dwellers.
Love The DAC!
Very clean and nice atmosphere. The staff is very hospitable, accommodating and professional. I enjoy visiting this place for meetings and lunch.
Great club. Love spending time here.
I come here often for professional events. Their two ballrooms and rooftop area are classy; the catering staff are polite, friendly, and efficient; and the decor and table settings are well done. They also do a good job of offering food alternatives - vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, soy free, etc. Parking in their garage is a bit of a pain if youre not a member of the DAC, but I understand that theres limited space. I would like to thank Moses specifically for his generous help in finding some items I lost at an event last month. Youre awesome!
Hello there,It is with great admiration that I write this 5 STAR REVIEW for the venue & great staff at the Denver Athletic Club Bar in downtown Denver. My name is Brian Masters, and I am the owner of Casino Party USA in Denver, Colorado. Our company creates and hosts over 400 “Casino Theme Party” events a year, and the Denver Athletic Club is one of our favorite event venues for guests looking to have a fun & exciting event. Our business averages two events a month, and we love working there!Katie, at The Denver Athletic Club, and their staff are professional, courteous, responsible, and extremely talented at working with our clients and guests at their venue. The Denver Athletic Club venue is always clean, well maintained, and a beautiful venue for your next corporate or personal. The Denver Athletic Club not only has multiple private rooms to rent, they have a large upstairs Event Room, upwards to 300 guests, as well as restaurants, lounges, and activity rooms available for functions.I would highly recommend The Denver Athletic Club for anyone looking to host their event there.Thank you,Brian Masters - Casino Party USA
I was a member for almost 9 years and resigned on May 13th because closed due to Covid, yet still charging for membership. That same day they billed me for the forthcoming month. When I called the GM to complain, he said its in their contract that there is a one month penalty for resigning. Then today they direct billed my checking again again for next month. I have had problems in the past with their billing for daily parking in spite of fact I paid for monthly parking. When I called, they said they would credit my account for these charges and never did. I believe the DAC management is either careless or dishonest and strongly advise against joining.
This place is very well maintained and clean. It has an old white money feel to it. People who work there are very professional and nice.
High end private club for workout and games. Cozy environment for dinner and business meetings. It has wide connections with many famous artists, and has different shows from time to time. Of course the articles are sold pretty expensive.
My wife and I have been members for 9 years. This club is amazing. At least 80 fitness and yoga classes a week, top notch workout facilities, and a wonderful staff. And if thats not enough, there are many, many social opportunities, for instance, I am in a writing group where we regularly share our work and help each other improve. Finally, the restaurant is a great place to meet clients. The food is good, the service is wonderful and its much quieter than commercial restaurants.
Here for a wedding reception. Lovely venue. Rooftop deck. Party was great. Good food. Lots of fun!!! Place full of charm and history.
Its neat to play on old wood but the location was different and definitely could use some modernizing
I attended a conference here. Nice spot to hold a meeting. Onsite parking was great
As a marketing expert and promoter I had the pleasure of working with The Denver Athletic Club on two recent Society of Hispanic Human Resource Professional corporate events. I have never been more impressed with any venue. This facility is first class all the way. It is centrally located and easy for everyone to find. The rooms are very nice and the food is fresh and tasty. However, the best part is working with the amazing people of the DAC. They love their jobs... and it shows! Everyone is pleasant, patient, professional and trustworthy. They under promise and over deliver every time! Thanks Judie! Great team work!
Worst place to work at is the kitchen low pay and low Management quality wouldn’t recommend if looking for a easy job pass experience..... the rest of the club is wonderful.
I went to the Rotary club meeting in the large banquet hall. It was beautiful and the catered food was fantastic. This is a wonderful event space and I really enjoyed my time there. I was greeted promptly at the door also, and given very helpful directions to get to the meeting.
I love this place. I am there everyday and it has everything you need in the city. It is my home away from home. Great place to swim laps, with very clean lap pool that is always empty it seems. Nice newly remodeled hot tub co/ed steam/sauna right in pool area. This is not just a gym, it is a club of welcoming friendly people who want the best in the city. Never seems crowded in the massive workout gym area. Their Crossfit is pretty killer as well. Kids love the indoor playground and kids programs. It is a great place to connect with Denvers best and brightest.
My wife and I had our wedding here and cant thank the staff enough. Everything from the planning to the end of the reception went so smoothly. In the basement of the venue is the oldest bowling alley west of the Mississippi. Id recommend renting the whole bowling alley out for an after party.
Always a pleasure to dine and utilize the business meeting facilities. Event staff is ALWAYS over the top in providing everything to conduct a successful session. Thanks Nicole!!
If your looking for a nice club, but has all the perks of country club for a tenth of the price. I joined this place when I moved to Denver 2.5 years ago because I worked downtown and the traffic is awful so I would workout here till traffic was over. However, it began a lot more than a “workout” place. The free keg on Tuesdays was the reason I made my first friends moving to Denver (outside of work). Yes, the place offers you free alcohol and food about 100 times a year, and they make it a social and you get to meet business professionals of all ages. The president has done a phenomenal job in just the 2.5 years I’ve been there. The club has gotten a major face lift, he has retained some of the best talent, and he has been growing the club which has helped the club immensely. I also got a few of my friends to join this club after being denied 10 times because it’s “too expensive”. It’s ~$200 a month but the amount of perks you get makes you feel like you’re getting every penny worth. Gym, multiple locker rooms with steam and sauna, pool, squash (they even hold international events here for squash), racquetball, 3 restaurants, lots of places to do work and feel comfortable, rooftop, and many more things. This place is also a great networking place for business, and it’s only getting better with time. If you like good customer service, these workers remember your name, make you feel like you’re at home every time you come. I could write a book about what the DAC has done for me. Give DAC a chance and you will not regret your decision!
Nice place ....wish I had the money to become a member
Joined the DAC in June 2018 and was assured that we could put our membership on hold for 3 months in Fall for out of state hip replacement surgery. In August we submitted our request to hold our membership which was approved by the membership committee only to be overturned by the executive committee. We received no phone call nor letter of explanation, rather we had to reach out numerous times to finally arrange a call from someone on exec committee for explanation (change of policy). Additionally their policy is a 30 day notification of resignation so if you’re forced to resign you still have to pay an extra month of dues. While the workout area is nice, much of the club is dated. There are many good alternatives in Denver that welcome and embrace membership flexibility, honor their commitments and communicate readily to their members. I just received an unsolicited call from the executive director of my new club to check on my satisfaction to date and answer any questions I might have after two weeks! Refreshing.
Nice place downtown. Feels like an old country club but with a new flare!
Donny the bartender is by far the friendliest and best bartender I have ever encountered anywhere. He is an expert at his craft. He is happy and friendly night after night creating an atmosphere you look forward to returning to.
Its alright, a little pricey in my opinion but no major complaints. Staff are nice and the facilities are good. I spend most of my time in the weight room which was just remodeled but the space is used really inefficiently in my opinion.
The DAC is a classic downtown social club. They have a great gym and meeting areas. I always stay close when I am in Denver.
Great club. Its more than a gym and has restaurants and pubs inside. They put on a ton of member events. If youre looking to get connected, its a great place to meet good people.
I have been going to this club since I was in high school. We (my family) have been members for eight years and I could not think of being a member of any other athletic club in Denver. We have referred all of our friends and family!I could literally go on for pages and pages about how much this club has done for us. If you are looking to join a club with more than just gym facilities, The Denver Athletic Club is definitely something you should be taking a look at.
The Denver Athletic Club is a long time fitness club that is ran by the members and has the oldest bowling ally in Colorado. Not only a fitness club but a breakfast lunch and dinner restaurant and a bar. Meet with clients friends or family. Tons of amenities and staff that attend to you every need.
I only go to the salon. But, when I was a full member they have good classes, great workout facilities. The ladies locker rooms are cramped. They argue b/c it was originally mens only, but guess what? They do have enough money to renovate. Tough to find healthy options on the menu.
I work here and its fast paced and crazy schedule but lots of benefits for employees. Workout room access whenever you want, free meals, and its fun.
You are supposed to be able to visit crossfit 1884 at this facility as a drop-in athlete but the door staff blocked me when I visited to ask questions. Not very approachable.
Truly a wonderful place to go workout and a great demonstration piece of the inflatable structure that can be used in many parts of the world as a first responding shelter that can be inflated to restore order and safety as soon as possible for our smaller Islands that consists of over 150 thousand islands around the world to ensure the best preparation in case of another catastrophic Collision of an asteroid the size of Mexicos horn.
Nice! Next door to Colorado Convention Center and 2 blocks from 16th Street mall.
Great gym, lovely staff, a club for the whole family. Expensive in raw terms but we think its a good value for what it offers. Unparalleled service.
An amazing Denver icon. You can get lost in there. Daycare and young families keep the place vibrant and active.
Visiting the city for first time, trying to get some racquetball games, but, “They don’t offer daily pass o guess pass.” Guess they are to good,
This is my home away from home. As a matter of fact, I probably spend more time here than at my real home.
The Best Club in town. Tremendous athletic offerings, from Pilates to squash to swimming to bowling. Great social and dining outlets, meeting space, you name it! 350,000 square feet of services.
Accidentally use their parking garage to attend event at Convention Center next door. Didnt know it was athletic clubs garage. Sign out front said Event Parking. After attending the event I went to exit the garage and was charged $25 for 2+ hours of parking. As I exited I notice sandwichboard sign behind a blockade which said in large letters: Parking $25. THE SIGN WAS PURPOSELY HIDDEN. Denver Athletic was making a sweet buck. Its not the money that bothers me, its the attempt to deceive, which speaks volumes about this organization. I will never patronize this establishment no matter how out-of-shape I become.
Can’t beat this place... indoor pool, sauna, steam room, squash, new basketball court, bowling, gym, free yoga classes, pilates, cross-fit, and many more...Reasonably prices if you use it.
Clean, upscale place. Bathroom stalls/ doors were nasty, though
Fancy and tons to do. Membership though is too pricy.
Great place to work out and meet friends for dinner.
It’s best sport club with everything in Denver. Over 100 year history is there.
As a previous employee (over a year) I still tell people people about how backwards this place is. Employees are made to act as if they are servants. Thats right, not servers, but servants; and members eat that up... if youre considering joining, just ask yourself, why do I have to show my credit score to join?
Its a great gym if you have the money to join. Initiation fee is insane now. Honestly I think this place could use an update. Some things here and there could easily be fixed. Once youre a member there are member social events and such. Theres a game room where you can bring outside guests which includes ping pong table, darts, pool tables, and shuffle board. They have a pub in this room and theres a dining hall. Theres also a bowling alley that you can bring guests once youre a member. Thiss place is huuuuuge! Theres sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room also. Lots of group fitness classes daily, squash, racquet ball rooms, full basketball court, kick boxing room, Pilates, yoga, cycle. Theres lots of things to do here. The locker rooms are spacious and have most amenities youd need to get ready if youre on the go. Lockers have combination locks and such that you can use with an electronic code. I like this a lot since I dont have to bring a lock for my stuff. Hopefully I get more fit going here.
Best athletic and social club astounds fantastic fitness facilities, good bar, and top-notch restaurant. Best handball team in the state
Old school charm that will never be needed to be changed.
The DAC has something for everyone from a day care for infants and preschoolers to programs for seniors. The extreme athlete and the casual exerciser can find many opportunities to keep in shape. The swimming pool is terrific and theres even bowling. In addition, there are affinity groups for many interests and really good food in the restaurant and cafe. Parking in the garage is free for a couple of hours for members while they use the facilities. Our family uses the DAC frequently.
Not only does my husband love being a member, but the DAC was absolutely perfect for our wedding. The service and the food were absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the DAC to anyone.
Horrible experience. A friend who goes to this club invited me to come with him. Not only is the place overpriced, I saw cockroaches in their main kitchen! My friend says Denver has cockroaches everywhere but as I worked in the health department for many years in California, this disgusted me! I saw many health violations..
Very nice place, its exclusive to a certain social status.
If you are looking to learn how to swim, swim better, or have competitive ambitions the staff has you covered.
Clean and spacious place. Staff is very friendly and great location in downtown.
Attend my sons wedding, great place to have a wedding! Check it out if looking for a venue.
This place has consistently been amazing for many years.
Great equipment, friendly staff, incredible spaces for basketball, indoor raquet sports, huge pool, great restaurants and an old-school tavern... The DAC is so much more than a gym. It has no peer.
Great place to go for a Yoga class and lunch !
As a new member to DAC, Ive been delighted with the quality and quantity of things to do. Its a fantastic third place with charm, history, and vitality.
Wonderful place to not just work out, but relax away within the busy downtown environment.
Im just extra help but wow this place is amazing
I only visited the racket ball /handball courts, but the facilities were nice.
It shows its age in places, but the vast number of options and facilities choices cant be touched anywhere in Denver. The gym is top notch with top of the line equipment, great pool, squash, work areas, social areas etc. Nothing else quite like it.
I was really impressed with this club. I have never seen another athletic club like this, the amenities or number of services is too many to remember for me.
Had a lovely night on the roof!
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with the daycare at Denver Athletic Club. In July, 2017 we toured the daycare facility with Courtney LeDuc and decided to put our son’s name on the waitlist. In order to do so, we initiated a social membership and were given a timeframe of an August start date (which was eventually shortened to a late May start date). For 11 months we paid monthly dues and checked in with Courtney (usually with a delay in her response time). As you can imagine, we planned our lives around this arrangement and had our son in an interim daycare in the meantime. As the start date approached, we were communicating with Courtney for a couple of weeks attempting to get the paperwork and a pre-visit scheduled. She confirmed a time and date via email, noting that the following would happen in that visit:- We would meet the teachers, which was very important to us, especially after pulling our son out of our current daycare with wonderful teachers.- The teachers would observe him and determine whether he should be placed in Infant 1 or 2.When we arrived, Courtney had no idea why we were there. Then a woman named Shannon came out and said that she heard I was there to do a tour. I clarified that it wasn’t a tour and explained what I had spoken to Courtney about. She asked if I was aware that Courtney was leaving the DAC, which I was not. Then she told me that unfortunately the infant 1 and 2 teachers were not there that day, and instead there were subs. So the entire point of the pre visit - to meet the teachers and get my son observed - was not able to happen. Shannon provided no apology, no acknowledgement of the chaos of the visit and the fact that the child care group appeared to not have their house in order, nothing about how this never happens and something was lost in translation with Courtney leaving... nothing. We walked out of the DAC and agreed that we did not feel comfortable sending our son to daycare there. After 11 months of excitement to have our son at DAC, after 11 months of paying for a social membership just to be on the wait list, we now have to scramble to come up with a new plan for daycare. We have invested a great deal of money and time into this experience and the ONLY thing that the DAC refunded us was our first month daycare payments, despite multiple emails to all levels of the organization. I wanted to share my experience in hopes that it saves others from going through what we went through with no resolution.
Fantastic, friendly and fabulous club! Pilates Downtown is a wonderful place to get wonderful a private or group lesson! I highly recommend the DAC!Marcia Edwards
Attended the Colorado Running Hall of Fame ... beautiful ballroom and excellent service!
A premiere athletic and social club in Denver. Top notch facilities, food, and service.
Great place to work, work out and have social time.
Its hard to like and hate the DAC. Across the board youll see everyone complains that the place being stuck in 1980. Its kind of what gives it a piece of charm and certainly a perk for the 60 and 70 year old oil guys who have been coming here since their prime.Who doesnt like green carpet and gold trim on everything?? And honestly, the plethora of after shaves and colognes offered in the mens locker rooms is nothing shy of endearing. With the membership rate as high as it is, they know what their doing obviously - keeping the old in and the young blood out. But Im sure thatll all eventually change. Well see.
This place has everything you can possibly want love this place
Good old style club with relaxing environment
So the motto of this club is A club for all your life, yet when my mother came down with breast cancer and I asked that my membership be cancelled so I could help with my mothers medical bills, they refused to cancel and I paid for 2 months I didnt use. The hypocrisy of people who say they want to help cancer patients and then dont is remarkable. Last year I received an email from the employees asking for a donation for their services. Again, the hypocrisy. So... a message to all those with cancer, cancer survivors, or anyone with cancer, you might want to put your money elsewhere. Im tired of hypocritical do-gooders, who actually do NOTHING to help anyone but themselves. They should take a good look in the mirror and figure out what they stand for, if anything.
Never crowded, very fun, much more than athletics, its a social club as well. Pool, restautant, bar, cafe, squash, raquetball, bowling, pilates, yoga, TRX, summer concerts, social activities, basketball gym, boxing, 3 class studios, childcare, steam and dry sauna. So much!!
We went to the restaurant for their tapas menu, great food and service.
Went to look at this venue as a potential site for planning a very costly event as we happened to be in town vs looking at pictures. The young boys working were unable to take 4 minutes and have us look at the area. Very disappointing to be dismissed when we were prepared for a hefty investment.
I have been a member for over 20 years. The DAC is a life experience. It becomes part of your life and many of my friends over the years are DAC members. If you play squash or into fitness, the DAC has top programs in each.
Love this place. Sorry about your parking experience Evan.
The DAC has all the equipment and amenities you need for working out, but for the steep initiation and monthly costs, if fitness is what youre after you can save a lot of money elsewhere.Up front it sounds like everything is available to you as a dues-paying member, but there are a lot of extra fees if you want to optimize your experience. I also noted being charged for things I never purchased, on every statement (they were removed after I objected).Being a former gym owner and holding a lot of the same credentials as the staff, it is clear that the business model is oriented toward becoming a champion socializer.I attempted to arrange a VO2 Max test and it seemed the staff had better things to do with their time, via phone, email, and in person. Group bicycle rides were cancelled. The CrossFit box hasnt been upgraded in a long time and has some annoying restrictions (no dropping weights during business hours). The building is really cool and has a lot of history, theres a bowling alley, pub, restaurants, etc. just not a lot of shredding.
Had my daughters wedding here, It was a great night great food some members very snobbish
Same good food as it has been for 40 years
Nice facilities billiards & swimming ^_^
I am a squash player i contacted the club couple of time in past to be a volunteer couch for their inner city program once i spoke to a person inchrage of the program he told me he will contact me never did then i left a massage after couple of months never recived a call back i m from pakistan played squash for about 20 years just wanted to teach what i learned over the years in a court to underprevilaged kids but my experiance with a club is that the management is prejudice and very unprofessional
Love this place, come almost every day.
Following a tour of the DAC with Diane, she not only followed up with my membership, I also received personal communications regarding my specific interests, both athletic and social. It is different to have an actual person (members) reach out and invite you to a class or event. You can sign up for mailing lists, but individual members also want to make contact with you, it is the culture of the club.New members are offered a free wellness visit then two free personal training sessions. I would highly recommend taking advantage of this! Carol completed my physical (% body fat, cardio, balance, etc) and checked in on my experience thus far at the club. She sent the tests over to Jennifer who has been my personal trainer ever since. I have felt great about my fitness; the results have shown in my racing and energy. The shopping, restaurants, and social events begin to add onto the bill after a few months. DAC is not the cheapest, but is the best bang for your buck! The social activities cost less than I would spend doing these same activities outside of the DAC. Moving into the city, especially LoDo, plan to spend more money. Being a part of the DAC, you can get great deals inside the club and the committees will plan outings in the city as well.
Great bricks from the outside.
So many activities and great people
Great athletic club!!
High price health theres too many mountains in Colorado to pay that kind of money Mother Nature offers more activities anybody could pay for a shower and get a towel come on they want like seven hundred bucks just to work out and then $300 a month after as a robbery bro that aint healthy thats my opinion form your own its a country club not a fitness center
